Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review BEST EVER!!
I am a cat lover with horrible cat allergies. This is the best product I've found that allows me to have my cats in the house without the problems associated with allergies. I simply wipe the cats down a couple of times a week and no allergy problems. The instructions say to use every couple of weeks but because my allergies are so bad I've found I need to use them 2-3 times a week. I guess it depends on how bad your allergies are. This is a product I will definitely keep buying.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review Very Nice Machine
I've had my 1 HP dust collector for about two years now. Overall I've been very happy with it. Assembly was straight forward without any missing hardware or other nasty surprises. Fit and finish of all parts is very good to excellent. The
assembly/use instructions are quite adequate. The zip lock
plastic bag for storing the manual/parts breakdown is a nice touch. Like the vast majority of my Delta tools it did NOT
require a phone call to their customer service to get it up and
running. Having said that you DO need to set aside a couple of
hours to assemble the pup..there are a LOT of bolt/washer/nut
connections to make. Should be a one person assembly operation-nothing is really too heavy for the average woodworker to handle
    alone.

It is a well made unit which will obviously serve the needs of the small shop user for many, many years.

In operation it does an outstanding job of sucking up airborne
sanding dust and debris. Out of habit I still wear a dust mask,

but I really think it isn't necessary. In a confined area it is a little noisy (not as bad as a cheap vacuum though) and you might want to consider ear protection especially if you're going to use it all day.

Nit picks: (1) the dust filter-glued-to-a-tray needs to be changed to something where a standard 1" industrial filter can be used. Even though the original filter will last for years with care, the purchase price for a replacement is just too high.

    (2) The curtain surrounding the top is a little awkward to use if you put the dust collector up against a side wall.

    (3) Why aren't all of the holes in the top fitted with grommets?
Gosh, these things cost maybe a dime a piece..surely that extra
expense wouldn't have broken the budget! You can take one of your grommets to a decent hardware store (forget the big box places.the 16 year old kid working there has no idea what a grommet is..) and get enough to fill the rest of the holes for
    little more than pocket change.

All nit picks are very minor and in no way detract from my overall satisfaction. I've been given to understand that Delta is moving production for this item offshore too-so if you want a Made in the USA one you'd better hurry up and buy it!

BTW: The fan powering this beast is very, very strong. All of air entering the top exits the bottom...don't be surprised if
you find out your floor is NOT as clean as you think it is as it
blows up dust from under the machine.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review Great tool for a small shop
I recieved this collector as a gift. Probably would not have bought it on my own, mainly because I thought I needed more hp. I was wrong. Have had this little jewel in the shop now for about 7 months and its perfect. I have a very small shop, 120 sq ft, and this unit fits under my home made saw table (New Yankee Workshop version). I generally only have one machine running at a time so I just move the hose around. Very seldom have to move the machine. It does a great job of collecting the dust and chips from the table saw, planer, miter saw and band saw. The only problem I have had is with the zipper on the bag, I think it could have been a little heavier construction, but if you remember to vacuum the zipper edges before you attempt to close it up again it works fine. I added an additional length of 4" hose (10ft) to the hose that came with the machine so I could easily reach all my chip producers as I did not want to constuct a permanent pipe system and have not had any problems with static electricity. I'm thinking of adding one of the "can" type second stages to my little system so I am not emptying the bag so often. This is a perfect upgrade from a shop vac type of system.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review Dust control in a small or big shop
My shop consist of a one car garage and I do alot of Bandsaw projects. The amount of sawdust produced by a Bandsaw is enormous and with very little air circulation this poses a health hazard. This dust collector takes care of this problem. Its ease of mobility to go from one machine to another has keeped sawdust to a minimum with very little to clean up at the end of a day, also making it easy to store. This unit does get warm but not hot and has not tripped any breakers during long operating periods. It is rated at 80db but because of the size of my shop is seem alittle louder than that. I had this unit running in about five minutes out of the box and have been pleased with its perfomance.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review Not for use with a dove tail jig
I purchased a "D" handle PC 691 to use with the PC 24" Omnijig. Because I have a small shop dust collection is a major objective. This dust collection system works, at best, marginally when using the Omnijig. The lower collection enclosure cannot be used. The side port collects minimal shavings. I still use the system and from time to time turn off the vacumm to gauge if it is worth the setup. Yes, it does collect some of the chips, but probably not worth the price if the dust collection system is exclusively used with an Omnijig application. The PC 691 is exclusively used for dove tail work in my shop. If I'm missing something here I'd welcome correction.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review Works very well
I hooked it up to my vacuum and it eliminated virtually all mess! That's so pleasant given the tremendous whirlwind of debris generated by routing.

You have to think ahead and determine just how the cuts are going to be made and where you need to look. This hood can get in the way of your cut, either hitting some other piece of material, the blade, blocking your vision etc. It takes a little time to get used to but as long as you think ahead it can make a difference.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review Works very well
I've been doing a lot of MDF work lately and using my flush trim bit A LOT. The dust MDF creates is incredible and I got tired of being covered in it and having it cover everything in my garage. Hooked up to my Ridgid shop vac, not one speck of MDF dust escaped this PC dust collection system. WOW! On a side note, I do recommend getting a softer, less rigid hose as the stiffer ones typically provided with shop vacs can interfere with smooth handling of the router. I am comfortable with the price.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review Dust Collector 4"
I just hooked this up to my 4" collector and it's great, very easy to connect with the enclosed clamps. I use it mainly for my miter saw and the hood captures most of the dust. The hood also works to clean up after I've used my table saw.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review Dewalt Chip Collection Bag
I purchaesd this so I could remove my Dewalt 735 Planer from my dust collection system and use a seperate trash can with a trash bag. I used a plastic trash can first with the brackets for the handles cut away so the bag would fit tighter to the can. The planer blows the sawdust out with so much force that it kept blowing the bag off the can. I next tried a steel trash can. Same problem. Contrary to all my other Dewalt tools, I'm very disappointed with this chip collector.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review Works but not well
This was a little disappointment. I hope to figure out a way to keep the sawdust from blowing out of the sides. It doesn't seal well, but it does catch most of the sawdust. Maybe 3/4 of it.

Works great. Bag is large and will fit a 55 gallon drum. It's great to not have the mess and cleanup.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review Wrong Size
The service was prompt but the problem was; the product was for a different vacuum. It was too small by about 2 inches in circumference. I needed it so I had to split the attachment ring and piece the material to make it fit. It is not good but better then nothing.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review I,m glad I bought it.
I purchased a powermatic model 73 from a friend of mine and it needed a lower bag, I purchased a lower cloth bag and thought it was too small, I was in the process of returning it so I went on line and read the prior review of installing it on the inside and the idea is ingenious and I,m glad i bought the powermatic model 73 and the lower cloth bag.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review They should make them all like this.
I needed a cloth bag for my Powermatic dust collector to reduce the cost of plastic bags. I received this bag (it did take a long time to get) and just like another reviewer, the bag didn't fit. Then I realized that the bag fits on the inside of the housing instead of outside. It also didn't require any band clamps. I think this is ingenious. I've had it on the collector for two or three years and it still works great. I was looking for another dust collector with this feature and I haven't found one. Powermatic no longer makes the model 73. What a shame. They should make them all like this.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review Not that good of a value -
You may want to look at other sources of Dust Collection Accessories Kits. If you are using a small dust collector then this may work. A large system you will want to use rigid piping and minimize the flexible tubing. Flexible tubing causes reduction in vacuum - the longer the run the less efficient your dust collector is.

Other accessory kits are available through Penn State Industries aka "pennstateind" or Grizzly that may have more variety of components at a competitive price.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review A waste of $$
This might be worth it for 1/4 the price, but not worth the $$ as priced now. Not only that, you must cut it to fit your particular saw. The back casing doesn't really cover as much as I expected. And I had to cut it myself with their template. Sorry, but I expected for this price to have something custom for my saw - or at least semi-custom.

Do yourself a favor and buy a piece of plastic and cut it yourself. You'll save around $30.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review Works as advertised but directions need major editing.
I installed the Dust Monkey on a Jet contractor saw and I am satisfied with the finished product. That said, the directions provided with the kit are ponderous, confusing and in some cases not that well thought out. I totally ignored the directions for installing the hopper on the bottom of my saw. The directions for cutting the back panel and the foam ramps are convoluted (especially considering that it's all pretty simple). The manufacturer would do well to hire a technical writer and use illustrations (a picture is worth .... ). If you are mechanically inclined you can figure out how to install the Dust Monkey on your saw but take some time to study your saw, the parts at hand and the directions (with a suspicious eye).

Once you get done with the installation you'll be pleased with the performance of the product.

Vacuum and Dust Collector Accessories Review Needs Engineering
Despite all the negative reviews, I pitched and bought this product for my Craftsman Professional Table Saw. First of all, ignore the lousy instructions. I separated the table saw from the base and slipped the collector plate between the saw and the base. You can use the existing bolt holes to anchor the collector plate to the base. Forget the roll of sealing tape. You will still have holes in the saw to leak air. I reversed the plate so the collector hole was in the back of the saw where most of the dust comes off the blade. I then followed the template that came with the kit and luckily, I was able to use my band saw to make a number of modifications to the template to fit my saw. That still does not seal the back of the saw. I had to cut a couple pieces of plywood to come up with an acceptable template. I ended up using a 1/4" piece of plywood which I bolted to the saw cabinet and didn't use the piece of plastic that came with the kit. In order to properly seal the back of the saw, I used pieces of heavy cardboard and bolted them to the template. I used the piece of AC foam sealer on the front of the saw to cover the space for the adjusting wheel. The plastic dust ramps needed to be modified to fit over the bolt obtructions in my saw cabinet. My table saw had a dust collector kit built into it which I removed as the Delta 50-850 dust collector creates enough vacuum to collect the saw dust. This also kept the blade from kicking up dust.
The end product I produced looks as neat and tidy as the pictures you download with this kit.
Despite the many modifications the kit needed, I am happy with the results and my shop is now dust free.
