Now this is what I'm talking about Daddy-O! I didnt need it, but I wanted it! Now I got it, and I cant stop playing with it! I love it! Feel the power! Off to build the perfect Beach Cabana now! :)

Cordless Tools Review A "best buy" in every sense of the phrase
I am in the middle of a major home improvement project (two of them, actually), and I use the drill frequently (primarily for driving screws) and the driver occassionally. When I bought the package I was uncertain that I would find a use for the impact driver, but it has made my life easier many times by pulling out stripped screws with ease. It is quite loud, so I generally use the drill for screws unless I have specific need of the impact driver. The florescent work light is also surprisingly useful, and I have used it many times as well.

My dad has an older 12V Makita cordless drill that we really put through the paces doing lots of home improvement projects, including building two decks. When I bought my house I knew I needed a Makita cordless drill to go with it, and when I saw this deal I couldn't pass it up. For example, as of this review the price for this package is less than 5% more than for just the 14.4V DeWalt impact driver; it's like you get a top of the line cordless drill and a work light for free!

PROS:
+ The package deal is a fantastic bargain!
+ Makita quality.
+ 14.4V power is great.
+ Two NiMH batteries are included.
+ The batteries last a long time.
+ NiMH batteries do not suffer from memory issues (they can be charged many 1000s of times with no problems).
+ The impact driver removes stripped screws with ease.
+ The light on the impact driver is a nice touch.
+ A reversible Phillips/flat screw bit for the drill is included.
+ There are two storage clips on the drill to hold hex bits, so I never misplace the screw bit.
+ I like the blue color. :-)

CONS:
- Now I want a light on my drill, too.
- No bit is included for the impact driver. This is the only place in the whole package where it appears that Makita got cheap.

So far both the drill and the driver have strongly reinforced my previous great experiences with Makita cordless drills. I would buy this package again in a heartbeat.

Cordless Tools Review Quality Tools
I purchased a Ryobi combo set that included the same tools as the Makita combo set. Battery life with the Ryobi was short and the recip saw broke after a few hours. I returned the Ryobi set and purchased the Makita combo set after reading the customer reviews here.

I put up galvanized steel fence panels on my property and used the reciprocating saw to cut the panels to fit. What a difference! The recip saw cut through the galvanized steel like butter! A nice feature is the adjustable shoe. Being able to move the shoe up or down lengthens the life of the blade by moving the cutting edge to other parts of the blade. Another nice feature is the do-it-yourself carbon brush changes on the recip and drill/driver. The drill is in itself is really nice. Again, the quality of the tool was evident. Batteries seemed to last a long time.

I've grown up using corded tools [usually past down from my father] and finally decided to buy a nice cordless tool set after tripping on extension cords once too many times. Power is right up there with the corded tools.

If you are looking for a good set of tools, this is the set to buy.

Cordless Tools Review One of the best tool tools I ever bought
I bought this tool set about 1 year ago and It is so handy. I have used it more times than I can count. I am a carpenter and I use it from trim work to cutting plywood off the eves of a roof. I am very impressed with the power of the drill, the amount of work I can get out of the tools on one charge of the batteries and how efficient the tools are to use. The tools are very rugged and durable. They have held up very well on the jobsite and I use them just about everyday. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs the power of a corded tool with the effiecency of a cordless.

Cordless Tools Review Awesome drill, Great Circ Saw
Have now used this kit quite a bit while building a shed from scratch.

The drill is incredible. Great power, flexibility, balance and battery life. I have managed to break one of the two included bits, but I replaced it at the hardware store for 89 cents. The drill itself seems solid and well built, even after a lot of use.

The circ saw is powerful enough and well balanced, but battery life can be an issue if you don't plan your charges in advance.

The recip saw is nice enough and well balanced, if a little heavy (I had to do some tight cutting above my head and holding it up there was a little tiring after a while).

The flashlight? Well, it just sits there. I suppose it would be ok, but usually both of my batteries are taken, either by a tool or the charger.

The standout here is really the drill, followed by the circular saw. The fact that I don't have to drag a cord around is simply wonderful, and the 18v tools provide more than enough power for the things I do.

Cordless Tools Review Panasonic 12v Drill
Over the past 8 years, I have worn out four different manufacturers' 12 volt drills. This panasonic is hands down better than any of the competition. The balance and performance of the drill is pure QUALITY. The chuck says it all. I truly enjoy using this drill. All of my team mates at Habitat-for-Humanity beg to use it.

Cordless Tools Review Best value beyond the price
You will not be disappointed with this drill motor. It is every thing the reviews say it is and then some. I have other brands, the Panasonic has better balance, unexpected power and it's a great bargin. In the future I will buy another Panasonic.

Cordless Tools Review Panasonic cordless driver
I absolutely love this driver. It has the best balance of all the drivers I've owned and tried and am very impressed with the quality of workmanship.

Cordless Tools Review Trust me, it is well worth it!
I have owned this saw for over 3 years now. It is a shame that I had paid the full introductory price when it had come out, but I wouldn't trade this saw for anything. I also own the complete 24V cordless line by Bosch. I own a small contractor buisness doing everything from kitchens, baths, additions, full house construction, to concrete work and everything in between. Not only is this saw worth it's weight in gold, but the entire 24V Bosch is worth the same. I can not write a good enough review for this item. It is so handy to set up and cut a few pieces of trim with such accuracy as my 12" Bosch Sliding Compound miter saw. In fact, I have found myself using this saw for just about every job, since I already have the case with my other cordless tools. I have trimmed out $750k houses with this saw, just set it up in every room that needs trimwork, hook it up to my shop vac and away I go with accurate miters. The only thing that I had wished this saw had was the dual compound feature, but I am used to turning crown over and cutting it the other way. The saw holds an accurate fence and the positive miter detents are right on! Again, it takes only 5 min. to pull the saw out, set it down, and begin cutting with no cords to drag around. It is the nearest replacement to a quality cordes miter saw you can ever have. I am truely convinced to forever puchase the old blue and red over the yellow and black any day. Bravo Bosch!

Cordless Tools Review best buy yet
well ive had this saw for a month now. i couldnt be happier i install kitchens and bath cabinets everyday and use it everyday, the battery lasted longer than i thought it would before i had to recharge it. its so light my helper dosent complain anymore about dragging the saw around. between this and the bosch cordless jigsaw and the nail gun i hardly have to plug in anything anymore i read some of the reviews before i bought this last saw most were favorable some wernt but for what i do its great i guess if i did trim all day i would want 2 batteries but thats the only down side

Cordless Tools Review Great saw for the intended design
First let me say I am not a contractor I am a weekend warrior but I do like doing my own project work.
I bought this saw about 2 months ago because I had a project to build a double set of outside stairs. The nearest power was 1/4 mile away and I don't own a generator.
This saw is very good. I was suprised by it power. The stairs I built were completely made from green treated lumber. I was able to cut 2x12 stair treads with no problem. Yes I had to flip the wood over and yes the wood was still wet. I was amazed. I also bought the 24 volt circular saw. It too exceeded my expectation. I also own the Corded Dewalt 12 inch compound miter. This saw can't do everything the Dewalt can do but you can't expect it to. For what it is worth I have not found a job it can't do yet.
I would highly recommend this saw to any one.

Cordless Tools Review Sweet, but...
I shopped (data and spec-wise)around for this style of tool and finally decided on the DeWalt 14.4v. As a professional cabinet installer for 4 national manufacturers, I rely on my tools for my income and my high quality reputation million dollar plus homeowners demand. I think I have every DeWalt 14.4v tool made. Even a DeWalt 14.4 bisquet joiner. I like the professional grade 14.4v because it is light enough to use all day long and because most pro grade 14.4v drivers and drills won't "over torque" the screws. I know most contractors like the 18 volt, and I agree for circular trim and recip saws. But, the 18's can take me all the through a cabinet and the outside wall of the house before I can let go of the trigger (not a good thing). I have a couple Bosch 18 volt for heavy drilling in concrete, but all the DeWalt 14.4's have more that enough power to take a 2-1/2" hole saw thru a 2x4 or neatly drill a 1-1/4" forcner bit into hickory and still break off the heads of screws if you want! Back to the DeWalt 14.4 volt IMPACT DRIVER. A really sweet tool and drives the screw straight and slightly countersunk without splitting face frames or braking the heads off the screws. Well balanced, nice weight for all day use on a single charge (XRP) but, a bit loud (actually they all are). BUT...Unfortunately, I only had the tool for about 10 days before it and all the rest of my DeWalt 14.4 tools (all neatly placed in thier cases with xtra batteries and chargers)and a couple brand new XRP batteries, were stolen. %#@!*&^$%$!!! I had to replace this new tool immediately and local resources had none (DeWalt 14.4 any way). So, I ended up with a Makita 14.4v (it was my orginal 2nd choice) and I can tell you, I liked the DeWalt better. The quick release is much smoother for single finger releases (the Makita actually takes two hands to change a bit), slightly quieter and felt better in hand than the Makita. The flat bottom of 14.4 battery held it upright and stable on inclined surfaces. Suffice it to say, the impact driver is THE tool for driving screws, and the DeWalt 14.4v is the front runner in my opinion.

Cordless Tools Review Noisy, but strong
I was a bit skeptical about this tool after I purchased it, and I took a lot of ribbing at the jobsite because of its size and the noise it made, but after it drove 4 inch wood screws into a door frame they shut up. It takes a little getting used to if you want to us it to fasten drywall, but it isn't hard. You also go through a lot of bits because it is so powerfull it shatters them. You also have to buy a chuck if you want to drill with it.

For the money, I don't think I have ever bought a better drill/screw gun. We burn out a lot of drills on the jobsite and when I finally wear this on out I will definately buy another to replace it.

Cordless Tools Review A dream to use
I had recently used a friend's DeWalt 12v impact driver (and loved it), so when I had the opportunity to pick this 14.4v driver up cheap I jumped at the chance. I expected great things from this tool and I have not been disappointed.

Whenever I can't get good leverage on my regular 14.4v DeWalt drill/driver it tends to strip the screw heads towards the end of the drive. Not so with this baby. If you are starting with a new or undamaged screw, this driver will sink it into anything short of concrete without stripping the head. Other benefits include the small size of the driver itself and a really nifty chuck device.

As for downsides: You hear this a lot, but when this thing goes into "impact mode" it is loud. If you happen to be in a small room such as a bathroom you will really notice how loud it is. Also, you have to use hex headed bits and drivers with this thing, and that could lead to a bit of expense if you don't have any already.

Before buying this impact driver I was in a pretty common situation. I already owned a 14.4v drill/driver and had to wonder if I needed this one too. I am sure a lot of people who will read this review are in the same boat. My answer to this is yes and no. You can get by forever with just a drill/driver, so you don't NEED this tool. But speaking from a convenience point of view, once you buy this and cease to strip screw heads no matter what material you are screwing into, and once you get used to applying about 1/4 of the pressure that a drill/driver takes, you will love this tool forever.

I made sure that my drill/driver and my impact driver were of the same voltage so they could share batteries and now use the drill for drilling (duh) and the impact driver for driving and spend a lot less time swapping back and forth between drill bits and driver bits.

I highly recommend this as a well made and high performing tool.

Cordless Tools Review This is the best little tool!
I bought this scissors to use for cutting recycled clothing into rags for our job shop. In recent years I've found my hands won't take that kind of repetative work for any length of time without pain, so I went searching for a tool that would spare my aging hands. I chose Black and Decker's version of the electric scissors because of the company's reputation and because their scissors included a mounting bracket, making it possible for me to mount the scissors on a table and "feed" the material through it, effortlessly cutting it to whatever shape and size desired. I am SO IMPRESSED with the quality and power of this scissors, in such a small pkg and at such a reasonable price, that I've already decided to give it to several people on my list next Christmas. Wheather for heavier cutting jobs or light weight household chores, if you're looking for an excellent general purpose electric scissors, I don't believe you can go wrong with Black and Decker's Cordless Power Scissors. Every household should have at least one!

Cordless Tools Review Black and Decker Cordless Power Scissors
These are the greatest thing since sliced bread! I make purses out of heavy upholstery fabric, and these have saved my hands. They zip through any thickness without hesitation and came with a second scissor blade with a flat bottom just for fabric. The different scissor blades (there are two) snap off and on, don't make the mistake I did and try to unscrew them to change them...duh...I love these things. I would buy them again and again and again. They are easy to control, you can even cut sideways! I used to use a rotary cutter but these have sped up my work by at least 100%.

Cordless Tools Review Fan-tab-ulous
I am speachless. They cut out the armhole of a childs size 2 garment or 3 pair of denim shorts at once. Can't say more than that!

Cordless Tools Review I'll save the fifth star for later...
Having used many different brands of cordless drill/drivers over the past 15 years, I was curious about this new wave of impact drivers. I had the chance to use this DeWalt driver (a friend's) and I can report that I was extremely impressed with it. In all fairness, this isn't a comparison since I have never used any of the competitor's impact drivers, but the DeWalt was more than I thought it would be.

Power - there's all you would ever want here. I was driving 3" screws into treated lumber and quickly noticed two things. The driver didn't hesitate while driving the screws home and compared to my standard drill/driver I had to apply much less pressure on the rear of the gun to keep the bit from slipping on the screw head.

Size/Weight - You don't notice how much a good drill/driver weighs until you use something like this that is more powerful and yet weighs less. Though the size is tiny compared to what I am used to, it doesn't feel unnaturally so.

Value - though this is probably the best tool I have ever used to drive a screw, it is expensive so the vaulue per dollar isn't what it could be. If I were starting from scratch on a collection of tools, I would think seriously about this one. As it is, I already have two DeWalt drill/drivers and will probably not justify replacing them at this cost.

Overall, this is a great tool that I feel justifies the impact driver craze that is currently going on. If you build decks for a living, run to buy one of these. If you are a weekend warrior, get more bang for your buck by getting a good deal on a 12-14.4 volt drill/driver instead...

Cordless Tools Review Fast and Torquey
This tool is great. It has high speed (~2200 rpm) until you need high torque, and then it has that too. I use it for almost everything rotary from 1.5" spade bits to little twist drills to driving big screws. It has most of the torque and speed of the 18V unit yet it is small and light and compact. I've owned battery operated drills for ~25 years and this impact driver is a big leap forward. The only issue I have with these is that they are NOISY.

Cordless Tools Review Great for around the house
I remodelled my deck last summer, and used this to fasten the new decking (5/4" x 6" Trex boards). With a fresh charge, I found I could drive about 50 2-1/2" composite deck screws, with no predrilling, before the battery needed recharging. It's not the ideal tool for someone who does this professionally, but it worked great for me. Since then, it has come in handy for dozens of things around the house. In particular, it's very good at driving Tapcon concrete screws. The impact action produces a great deal of torque for its small size, but it lacks a clutch, which makes it easy to twist the heads off screws. That aside, it has lived up to all of my expectations, so I think it merits 5 stars.

Cordless Tools Review You CAN'T Do Better!
If you can deal with a cord, you can't do better than this drill. It's very impressive. Amazon is selling them a little high, so check around. I got mine on ebay for $80 brand new.

Cordless Tools Review BROKE MY WRIST!
POWER is the word! I was on a ladder drilling with a 4" hole saw overhead. You can see where this is leading. Use to wimpy 18 volt guns I was 1 handing it when hole saw hooked up and stopped! My new magnum however kept on turning. I hung on for 1 turn and got clobbered on the following 2! I love my drill! It broke my wrist and I still say it's the best! It's the Top-Fueler's of screw guns.

Cordless Tools Review Drill Rocks
The 302's long fault is that it needs a cord.
I have had this drill for 3 years and I don't use it much.
I use my cordless drills including my powerful Dewalt 988.
Today I used a 3 in holesaw to drill thru a 2 by 4,once I used the Dewalt,It struggled but drilled the hole. Then I used the
Milwalkee 302,it drilled It with ease and didn't even slow down.
I was very impressed.I will use the Milwaukee for the really heavy drilling from now on.I will use the cordless drills for
light to fairly heavy use (about 95% of the time). Why put unneeded strain on a good cordless drill?
If you are looking to buy a strong corded drill, look at Milwaukee first.

Cordless Tools Review Cheap
Read all the reviews here and decided to give it a try. The saw I previously used was a 20 years old SKIL saw. Let me tell you, this saw doesn't hold a handle to the old SKIL. It sounds like any other cheap saw from Harbor Freight (kind of rocks instead of bearings feeling). Besides, a pretty strong vibration would come and go while you are cutting. I don't know what I'm going to choose next, one thing I know for sure, I'm not going to keep this saw. The hight adjustment leaver got jammed and it took all my strength to loosen it. Bottom line, it would be a good $30 saw, not a $130 one.

Cordless Tools Review It really cuts
well. The saw is powerful, and fairly lightweight. Not jumpy either, very smooth. The case is clown-shoes big and the adjustable handle is a bit stiff, but overall a worthwhile investment and a good deal at that. (this review is for "left blade" consumers only. I cannot speak for the other side.)
And I am over the age of 13. Really.

Cordless Tools Review Big Daddy
Good strong saw, 2 things bother me though, 1 made in mexico, 2 the saw slides around in the case and seems to be a circular saw / router case, not a standard saw case with slots to hold extra blades or small parts.
