Cordless In-Line Screwdrivers Review Hard to beat at this price range
Pros: Solid build quality (in the usual B&D hard-wearing orange and black plastics). Very torquey at it's low speed setting--one of the more powerful (at ~80 in/lb) 6V drivers out there (that competes well with other higher-voltage models). The high-speed drill mode (600 rpm) won't win any drilling contests (??? :) ), but it's good enough for most light drilling chores (as long as they don't involve drilling in metal). The integrated tape measure (removable) and switchable LED illuminator are thoughtful touches.

Cons: There are a few. As mentionned many times already, the grip offered by the two bit holders is rather iffy, though if you press down on the bits hard enough they SHOULD remain in place. The quick-release chuck won't "grab" double-ended bits. For drilling chores, it can only accept hex-shank drill bits, which are somewhat hard to find in stores. The speed selector doesn't always switch over smoothly (a blip from the main trigger switch is usually enough to "unstick" it). The driver's angle setting locks in at odd places; the detents should've been at 45° and 90°. There's no status LED to tell you that the unit is charging. The charging jack is located in a very odd place (right at the hinge, where it's inaccessible unless the tool's angle is flat). Battery is non-replacable. There's no carrying case, and only one drill bit is included (but then, it's hard to justify such nit-pickings at this price).

Summary: Despite its flaws, this cordless driver offers the most bang for the buck. Definitely recommended... Just be mindful of its limitations (vs. the low price point).

Cordless In-Line Screwdrivers Review A great purchase
I'm not a screwdriver expert of any kind so I'm not sure how helpful this review will be but my hope is that my enthusiasm for the product will be enough to convey how highly I think of it.

I'm not one to use a screw driver much a nd am usually fine with the $.99 manual screw driver. But occasionally, I'd be assembling a product of some kind and run into a machine tightened screw that I had to kill myself to get out. So, I purchased this product and I could not be happier.

For the price, I would have been happy with just a screw driver, but the included flash light (a weak flash light but good for what it is), tape measure and drilling capability made it a great value. The adjustable pivoting handle seemed odd when I purchased it but feels very natural when you actually use it and has helped me in a few tight places.

I'm sure there are people who do professional work (like building cabinets and such) that this is not suitable for but for someone who just wants a good home screwdriver with a little power, you can't beat this.

Cordless In-Line Screwdrivers Review The Black & Decker 9074CTN 3.6 Volt Screwdriver is a Fire Hazard!
To say I am displeased with the performance of this tool would be an understatement. The only way I would be pleased, is if I wanted to commit arson. This tool's AC adapter welded itself together, melted it's insulation (Plastic) and started a fire on the wall going up to the floor joists (it was on the wall in the basement) and proceeded to burn the house to the ground. I got out alive (barely), and I am grateful for that. After recovering from the fire I vowed only to purchase tools approved for sale in Japan or Europe. Underwriters Laboratories is just too cozy with Black & Decker/DeWalt, so I will never buy another thing from them!

Cordless In-Line Screwdrivers Review Too weak and too big for small spaces
This screwdriver is too weak for doing anything serious. It's good for a couple of screws here and there, but try to do anything like putting a piece of Ikea furniture together and it runs out of batteries before getting done and it's not powerful enough to drive some of the screws. I've had it in its charging cradle hung up on the wall and the battery degarded quite quickly as well.

This would be forgivable if this tool was one of the kind that bends so it can get into small spaces, but it doesn't even do that.

Was not very happy with this tool. The best feature was the overtorque protection.

Cordless In-Line Screwdrivers Review Perfect for a woman
I like tools only because I like to do improvements in my house and because as a mom I have to be very familiar with the battery compartiments of my baby's toys and ready to follow complicated instructions for any kind of baby's stuff (from security gates to strollers and to all Fisher Price gamma of toys!)... and almost anything has lots of srews. This tool also allows me to care more my hands: I do not need to be pushing a manual screwdriver until I cannot give anymore.
I particularly love this tool more than any other. It allows me such a versatility! It is very easy to use so you do not need to read the instruction booklet. The rechargeable battery lasts a lot and is very fast to recharge. The weight and lenght are just perfect. Moreover: is silent (at least not too noisy) and fast.
If you do not find useful this tool is because the kind of work you want to do demands to use something else. You cannot use this tool if you need, i.e., a drill or precision instruments. You neither can expect to use this to change the battery of a watch! I mean if you use it for what is designed it will work great.
I recently bought new doors for my house. The guys that came to install them used my screwdriver because theirs was too heavy to use. They fell in love with this tool just like me.

Cordless In-Line Screwdrivers Review Poor design
As stated in other reviews, this battery connection is horrible. The first time I dropped it, it landed on the battery end. I had to use very long tools to fix the bent terminals. The last time I dropped it, it died for good.

BTW, no torque or speed adjustments.

I'm now in them market for another one.

Cordless In-Line Screwdrivers Review Not worth the price + shipping + annoyance factor
RIP-OFF! $35 + 3rd party shipping charges over $12 = $47 and a very bad deal -- especially considering that I'm going to have to go find a hardware store any way (not convenient for me). You see, the Black and Decker cordless screwdriver doesn't include any bits at all. Guess I should have read the product description a little more carefully to see what was NOT included in this rip-off deal. Silly me, but the very old battery operated screwdriver that I was replacing did come with bits. (And no, they don't fit this purchase fiasco.) So if you want it, go elsewhere folks, - don't buy it here.

Cordless In-Line Screwdrivers Review One of the handiest tools I've ever owned
B&D's Cordless screwdriver is handy anywhere you need to do minor repair work but don't need the power of a 110-v drill or screwdriver and don't want the bother of running a power cord (or cords) to the work location.

We use ours around the house and for odd jobs in the yard, but its convenience and usefulness are most obvious when we go camping. We carry 2 batteries, both fully charged, when we leave home, and this tool makes many of the little repair and mantenance jobs on a small trailer much easier.

We have several screwdrivers, both slotted and Phillips, and a small set of drills. Our next purchase for it will be the nutdriver set.
