Cordless Lights Review Need Vs. Want
Now this is what I'm talking about Daddy-O! I didnt need it, but I wanted it! Now I got it, and I cant stop playing with it! I love it! Feel the power! Off to build the perfect Beach Cabana now! :)

Cordless Lights Review A "best buy" in every sense of the phrase
I am in the middle of a major home improvement project (two of them, actually), and I use the drill frequently (primarily for driving screws) and the driver occassionally. When I bought the package I was uncertain that I would find a use for the impact driver, but it has made my life easier many times by pulling out stripped screws with ease. It is quite loud, so I generally use the drill for screws unless I have specific need of the impact driver. The florescent work light is also surprisingly useful, and I have used it many times as well.

My dad has an older 12V Makita cordless drill that we really put through the paces doing lots of home improvement projects, including building two decks. When I bought my house I knew I needed a Makita cordless drill to go with it, and when I saw this deal I couldn't pass it up. For example, as of this review the price for this package is less than 5% more than for just the 14.4V DeWalt impact driver; it's like you get a top of the line cordless drill and a work light for free!

PROS:
+ The package deal is a fantastic bargain!
+ Makita quality.
+ 14.4V power is great.
+ Two NiMH batteries are included.
+ The batteries last a long time.
+ NiMH batteries do not suffer from memory issues (they can be charged many 1000s of times with no problems).
+ The impact driver removes stripped screws with ease.
+ The light on the impact driver is a nice touch.
+ A reversible Phillips/flat screw bit for the drill is included.
+ There are two storage clips on the drill to hold hex bits, so I never misplace the screw bit.
+ I like the blue color. :-)

CONS:
- Now I want a light on my drill, too.
- No bit is included for the impact driver. This is the only place in the whole package where it appears that Makita got cheap.

So far both the drill and the driver have strongly reinforced my previous great experiences with Makita cordless drills. I would buy this package again in a heartbeat.

Cordless Lights Review Heavy Duty Durable Tools
This is an outstanding kit. I had a Dewalt 18v drill and needed a rip saw and circular saw, but at $200 -$250 each it just made sense to get this kit for $599 w/ free shipping. Plus the rebate for a free tool, which I ordered the jigsaw. I did debate getting the Craftsman or Rigid kit for about half the price. So what sold me on DeWalt? I noticed during a NASCAR race, after a mutli-car wreck, that several teams were using the DeWalt 18v Reciprocating Saw cutting away fenders! I didn't see anyone using Craftsman, Rigid, or Bosch?

I started using the kit immediately. The first project was a double tier floating deck at about 600 sq ft:

Rip saw with a 9" blade went thru 6x6 treated posts with little effort.

Hammer drill drove about 500-600 deck screws quick and controlled. It also went thru the concrete without hesitation.

Circular saw is great as well, trimmed deck boards, cut angles on the posts, and portability is so nice when you don't have to worry with cords.

Cut off tool is wonderful; I usually had to use the torch but it was always a hassle getting the tank moved around to the job, but I walked my fence row a trimmed 15 tension bars in about 8-9 mins.

Only down side was the XRP batteries held up for 2 posts on the rip saw and then it was dead. The drill and circular saw did what I expected as far as lifetime. The only thing that I did not like was the Hot/Cold feature on the charger. I had an older battery that this feature never affected, but the new XRP batteries seemed to always set this off. The manual says it helps extend the overall battery life, but this needs to be remembered if you only have a couple of batteries. When this "Feature" is on the batteries DO NOT charge! So the quick 1 hour charge they advertise now takes 2-3 hours (1-2 hours for the "Cool Down" and an hour to charge it).

Tools did an amazing job. Overall I am VERY satisfied and will continue to buy DeWalt.

Cordless Lights Review Finally!
Been using the 18V DeWalt tools on the job where we put them through hell. Yes, we smoked some drills and fried some batteries but the tools went down fighting. Been watching the sales at Lowe's & HD hoping to finally get myself a good set of cordless tools for the house. I have to tell you, this kit at this price on Amazon....well, I couldn't match it anywhere else. I don't know how they do it but Amazon always seems to have what I'm looking for at very attractive pricing. Anyway, I finally have a kit that has everything I wanted and more. You'll wonder how you lived without a right angle drill. Only complaint is that the portable light is pretty much a waste - would have preferred a jigsaw. I know folks have complained about the 18V batteries not lasting but I've never had that problem. Just wish they weren't so expensive to replace when they do finally die.

Cordless Lights Review Outstanding Kit
Traveling out to client location and installing cabinets and fixtures, this is a must have kit...It is amazing what power these items have.

Cordless Lights Review Great Tool
I purchased this to attatch wire fencing to a wood frame and to fix up some field fencing as well. It works great, has never jammed and hasn't misfired once. Being cordless allows me to repair the field fence without electricity and without pounding fencing staples all day.

Cordless Lights Review Time saver
We use this stapler to install wire on post and rail fence. It makes it so easy and quick. This stapler has lots of power.Very reliable, used all most daily with no problems besides the occasional jam.

Cordless Lights Review Paslode siding nailer
This gun is one of the best items to come along.I have been doing siding for over 10 years ( by hand ) and in the winter time it is very hard to hold nails with gloves on or freeze with none on, one person can hang alot more siding for more profit in one day compared to by hand nailing plus no nail pouch required so less weight to carry around I love it. Nailing into tight places is a little more easy also.No breaking siding when hit with a hammer.

Cordless Lights Review Cordless Drill Mania survivor
Ok Ok , I admit it...I was a cordless drill junkie. At first it was the 12v high, then the 18v rush!!!!

Well, all went well until that dreaded day when the batteries wouldn't hold a charge anymore. That day when I came to gripes (yes , gripes) with forking out $60 to $85 for batteries that also had poor lifetimes written all over them. Let's face it, the drill gets used maybe once a month and spends the rest of the time being charged with the usual "delta V" or , in the cheaper models, "V threshold" charge techniques. The NiCad batteries just sit there, essentially being topped off when the charge declines. This does not make for a long lifetime for this battery chemistry. (those drills are in a box with their dead batteries...too expensive to throw away!!).

That being said, the VPD850 offers a good quality, medium duty drill that uses inexpensive 3.6v NiCad batteries ($15) that can be used in other BD products. I have found that practically all my heavy work can easily be done using a corded drill (yes, CORDED) with the VPD850 handling the lighter jobs. This is a surprisingly well-designed, good torque 7.2v drill with its only problem being that you can't find it anywhere! I was both amazed and pleased that Amazon markets this. I have looked everywhere. It has plenty of torque and charge for a wide variety of household jobs. Admit guys... do you REALLY need a high-powered cordless drill? Their starting torque is a fraction of a corded drill. And if you do buy a corded drill...don't skimp. My Milwaukee Magnum Hole Shooter has been thru many big jobs and runs like new.

Put this in your toolbox before B&D discontinues it. I can't blame them. It really could take away a chunk out of the lucrative higher voltage drill product line.

It took a lot for me to say this but, LOW VOLTAGE IS GOOD!!

Cordless Lights Review Excellent Light-Duty Drill/Driver
This is an excellent light-duty drill screwdriver. Rated at 7.2 volts, it is not a full time use tool, better for the weekend user or light duty task.

This drill has some very nice features: A light, to help when drilling in dark areas, with a separate on/off switch. The battery level indicator keeps you informed as to the charge left in the batteries. The keyless chuck is almost stanard with home use drills. The two speed operation allows for both a drill speed and a driver speed.

Powered by the VersaPak batteries, which are interchangable with other Black and Decker VersaPak tools, the charging of the batteries with the included charger (I now have several spares). A nice system.

If you need a commercial quality drill that you will use much of your day every day, you need to look at heavier duty products. If you need a drill for home (and a high power screwdriver), this drill, in my opinion can't be beat.

Cordless Lights Review I'm impressed!!!
I bought this kit for the reciprocating saw. To say I was skeptical about the circular saw would be an understatement. I can honestly say I'm impressed. The recriprocating saw didn't dissappoint, and the circular saw was used to build a deck. It took on 4x4's and 2x8's without binding. The batteries were quick to charge and held the charge for many cuts.

Though it wasn't designed to be a 115v plug in saw, it has plenty of power and is handy as a pocket on your shirt.

Cordless Lights Review Ultimate cordless
I have the Dewalt 24 Volt saw and sawsall, they worked good for the first six months, after that I could not depend on them to go on jobs with me without wired tools as back up. I have had the Hitachi combo for few months and they are much better tools than the dewalt 24 volts. The saw has the biggest blade on the market( 7 1/4 "), it weighs less than my Porter cable electric saw, and it is very comfortable to use. It has a luminated cutting area also, it comes in handy when you are working indoors.
The sawsall is very compact and powerful, you can control the speed thru the trigger. The price of these tools are cheaper than the Dewalts and they are superior tools.
P.S. The Hitachi Green is a nice break from the yellow, red, and grey colored tools out there.

Cordless Lights Review The Best of the Best
I have used Panasonic cordless drills for 10+ years now and can tell you that they are by far the best cordless product out there.I have a 15.6 volt drill and have used and abused it for 7 years and it still works flawlessly. Would highly recommend getting a cordless Panasonic.

Cordless Lights Review great combo
I just received this set for putting up kitchen cabs and also used for drilling those pesky screws into cbu's. batteries last forever and ever. also charges my 18v panasonic batts in about an hour which is a plus. impact drill is super powerful and has good build quality. interesting that it is made in Japan and the drill is made in Mexico but both seem to be sturdy enough to withstand abuse.all in all I recommend.

Cordless Lights Review Unhandy man still delighted
I have wanted a combo cordless bundle for a long time and although it is more than I need it is rugged and I plan on it lasting for a long time. The drill has plenty of power to drive a 2" screw into a solid block of pine with no flinching. The variable tourque settings save many a stripped head on the driven screw! The circular saw zips through a 2x4 with no hesitation with angle and depth options not always available. The flash light has a broad - bright beam and the recip saw is good to go.

Cordless Lights Review DeWalt DC4CPKA Combo Kit
What a great purchase. I have been wanting this kit for a long time and finally found a great price on Amazon. Since purchasing this kit, I have built birdhouses, toy boxes for the grandkids, and set of Adirondack chairs for my patio. Great tools at a great price. I ordered them on a Wednesday and received them on Saturday.

Cordless Lights Review great cordless kit
I'm not so sure about the recondintioned combo kit, but the new version is superior to other cordless kits I've owned in the past. I've used many different cordless kits and Ridgid has to be the best.

Very powerful Hammer Drill runs for hours and hours with a single battery's life.
Circular saw is strong enough to rip boards and not choke.
Recipricating Saw (Sawzall) is also really powerful for a cordless tool - will run down battery life much quicker than the other tools.
Even the goofy little flashlight does it's job and has a few convenient features so you can position right where you need it.
Finish charging 2 batteries at an impressive 30 minutes - well surpassing the charge time of DeWalt, Milwaulkee, Craftsman - you name it.

The saws in this combo definitely eat up a lot of juice at once, but as long as you have a place to charge your batteries, you shouldn't have to sit around waiting for things to charge at you jobsite.

Cordless Lights Review I love this drill!!!
I needed a cordless drill for around the home and came across this bad boy. I particularly loved the battery indicator as I usually let it run down before charging and this gave me the impetus to ensure I had the batteries charged when I required it.
18V gave me plenty of power and I found that in all the situations I needed it, this drill never let me down.
The light was quite handy as I had to do some work in the basement in a very dark spot and this made it a little easier.
All up quite a sturdy drill, one I am very happy with!!
