husky chainsawthis chain saw was no where near worth what i payed 4 it it worked and ran well butit realy strugled on just cuting a 26 inch tree down my stihl ms 310 had to finish the job cause the husky died half way throgh so in my mind it was not worth the cost, i payed 400 for my stihl ms 310 with a spar chain and that has been better so the only thing i can sy is to buy stihl heres a link to the site thankshttp://www.stihlusa.com/chainsaws/
balance I don't mean to be a spoilsport, but I think that the reviewer has unfairly maligned a good series of saws based one example.
The Husky 372 has a perfectly good reputation amongst thinners and loggers. Sure, it is a tad more chintz than the corresponding Stihl item, but the Husky is generally about $100 cheaper and one gets what one pays for in chainsaws and optics.
The 372 series is perfectly capable of being used as a high production frequent use machine. I personally know several cutters who continue to use Husqvarna items.
I suspect the previous reviewer either had a lemon, or that he/she had a dull saw, which is admittedly is worthless.
I have more than 1500 hours of actual run time operating Stihl 046's in western timber, and I would not hesitate to grab a 372 if the price were right and it were available.

Purposefully engineered to fail!In the 4 years the I have owned the Makita drill I have owned 5 batteries. One of the 2.2 AH batteries failed within 6 months, warranty covered that one. Purchased two Ni-Ca in 2002 and they have already failed with only moderate use. At $90 to $100 for a pair, you might as well toss the drill as the other reviewer stated. Makita acknowledged that a year, maybe 2 is what to expect for their batteries; digraceful. Never again!
Standard battery packI got about three years out of a pair of these with moderate use. Will probably upgrade to the 2.2AH units since this drill is rather hungry for power and you got to have a charger handy if you are going to do serious work. A pair of replacements cost almost as much as the kit was 3 years ago. Makes the drill close to disposable.

Drill is Getting OldI loved this drill when it came out, but it is outclassed by the newer Makita t-handle 12 and 14 volt drills. The newer drills have nicer chucks, chargers, batteries, and balance. I also like the more compact size of the newer drills.
Oldie But GoodieYes, this is an older tool. I have had mine for what must be about ten years. For six of those years I have abused/dropped/thrown it almost daily. I ran into another older guy on a job last month who had the same one. Like me, he had been waiting for it to die so he could justify buying a new, bigger, sexier gun. Like me, he had been waiting for years. The damn thing is indestructable. Like a lot of Makita chargers, this one can be suspect, and I had to replace one. The best thing I have found is that with everyone going to 18+ volts, they are happy to give me their old 9 and 12 volt batteries. I have about 6 now. Some are tired, but I am NEVER without a juiced battery. Drives 3" screws fine, I attach a lot of 2x4's to hardwood floors, no big problem. If you consistently need more than 9 volts, you should probably use a corded tool anyway.
The balance is not a problem if you use a holster, but it won't sit upright on the floor which is sometimes useful.
It should be cheaper, this is the same price I paid when it was the new kid on the block.
Not sure I would reccommend it over some of the great new guns, but if you are "hard on tools" and can pick one up cheap, you'll learn to love it.

Deceptive ad!I just received this, and it comes w/out a battery. No mention of this in the specs, and the battery is an extra $40-60! Also, it is very light duty for such a tool. The instructions show an example of sharpening a knife..... the existence of a tool like this implies that it would be capable of cutting through a steel rod...!?
Ripoff!
Why I did not feel comfortable purchasing this item on amazI didn't notice that two important facts were posted. The voltage of battery required. and the batteries. It had a cute little botton on the page for you to purchase it immediatley. but think a minute, if sombody is into "quick"? wouldn't the the choice of purchasing associated (and correct voltage) accessories right on the same page be a smooth move? Hey maybe I stupid, and just didn't notice the button for complete and fufilling transaction. dave

RUN DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS TOOLI bought this tool three years ago and using it only occasionally have spent more on repairs than the tool cost in the first place. Don't waste your money like I did.
Milwaukee 5121-21 Rotary HammerThis Rotary Hammer packs a lot of punch for the money. The 11 amp motor runs smoothly and makes easy work of drilling 1-1/8" holes in concrete. Insert a flat chisel and break through block, brick and concrete with ease. The detachable cord is a nice feature; if it gets damaged you can get a new one and plug it in, instead of having to open up the machine. The tools vibration dampening system works very well and reduces operator fatigue dramatically. After 100 hours of use a service light will come on, and you will have about 8 hours of use left before the tool shuts down, and the tool will need to be serviced by a Milwaukee service center. A rugged metal case rounds out the package on this affordable, durable, made in USA tool.

Don't waste your money....I bought the driver and saw kit and the hammer drill kit. In the first year I replaced the drill/drivers three times...while under warranty. The saw worked well and the flashlight was the best part of this kit. Now it is a couple years old and the batteries are dead and at $90 each I am not replacing them. I bought Hitachi this time with a five year warranty. I wasted $600 on the Porter Cable junk. I noticed that most stores are carrying this line anymore.
Price too highI was considering purchasing this item until I saw the price! I though on most combo packs you're suppose to save a good chunk of money. But looking at the price of the three seperate items the savings is only $20.00. That's a shame because I think this is a great kit, But not for $699.00!

Battery ProblemThis is a good tool except the battery doesn't stay in the tool. It works loose with rough use. They need to change the design on the battery so it clips in more securely.
Otherwise awesome.

good drill, poor chuckI have used this drill for over a year. Drill, clutch, etc.
are solid. NiMH batteries good.
The keyless chuck is very poor, cannot grip tight enough.
Other reviewers of similar Makita drills have noticed the same thing.
Sigh.

Easy Starting - NOTAfter getting it started it is a great little machine, powerful and tough. Getting it started is a completely different story. Have a strong arm and plenty of time.
