Drills Review Completely satisfied
My first DeWalt tool and I've been completely satisfied. Plenty of power and torque. Two-way level is very useful. Hand tightened chuck keeps bits locked in place without slippage (which was a concern of mine prior to purchase). Case is nice. Excellent value when compared to others. Will look for DeWalt again for my next tool purchase.

Drills Review good quality, good price
This is a great, reasonably priced drill that has plenty of power. It is not too heavy and the keyless chuck is great. This drill will satisfy most peoples' needs. I use a cordless drill most of the time and get this drill out for more demanding jobs. However, I have since purchased a 1/2 inch chuck hammer drill for even bigger jobs and drilling in concrete. In retrospect, I could have skipped buying the DeWalt, but it is still a great drill.

Drills Review 500+ sq ft subfloor later...
put down over 500 sq ft of subfloor in one day with this drill - got a little warm at times, but certainly kept right up.

Drills Review Need Vs. Want
Now this is what I'm talking about Daddy-O! I didnt need it, but I wanted it! Now I got it, and I cant stop playing with it! I love it! Feel the power! Off to build the perfect Beach Cabana now! :)

Drills Review A "best buy" in every sense of the phrase
I am in the middle of a major home improvement project (two of them, actually), and I use the drill frequently (primarily for driving screws) and the driver occassionally. When I bought the package I was uncertain that I would find a use for the impact driver, but it has made my life easier many times by pulling out stripped screws with ease. It is quite loud, so I generally use the drill for screws unless I have specific need of the impact driver. The florescent work light is also surprisingly useful, and I have used it many times as well.

My dad has an older 12V Makita cordless drill that we really put through the paces doing lots of home improvement projects, including building two decks. When I bought my house I knew I needed a Makita cordless drill to go with it, and when I saw this deal I couldn't pass it up. For example, as of this review the price for this package is less than 5% more than for just the 14.4V DeWalt impact driver; it's like you get a top of the line cordless drill and a work light for free!

PROS:
+ The package deal is a fantastic bargain!
+ Makita quality.
+ 14.4V power is great.
+ Two NiMH batteries are included.
+ The batteries last a long time.
+ NiMH batteries do not suffer from memory issues (they can be charged many 1000s of times with no problems).
+ The impact driver removes stripped screws with ease.
+ The light on the impact driver is a nice touch.
+ A reversible Phillips/flat screw bit for the drill is included.
+ There are two storage clips on the drill to hold hex bits, so I never misplace the screw bit.
+ I like the blue color. :-)

CONS:
- Now I want a light on my drill, too.
- No bit is included for the impact driver. This is the only place in the whole package where it appears that Makita got cheap.

So far both the drill and the driver have strongly reinforced my previous great experiences with Makita cordless drills. I would buy this package again in a heartbeat.

Drills Review Tough to write an original review for this beaut, but...
It's sooo smooth. When you get yours out of the box, plug it in and gun it up for the first time, you WILL grin. I think it's impossible not too. So smooth. And there's this high-pitched whine of the gears. Know why? They're all metal - not plastic. One other reviewer pointed out that the 8 amp version is over-powered. He's right. This baby only burns 5.5 amps but you better hold on! I only wrote this review to add my kudos, however redundant. You can stop shopping around, you found THE ONE! It's so smooth!

Drills Review Makes my cordless drill look silly
I was getting no where with a 1" spade bit in my cordless drill, and I needed to drill a lot of holes to run the wiring in my basement. So I tried a self-boring bit, and my cordless drill quickly started smoking. That's when I went and got this drill. It blasts through studs effortlessly with a 1-1/8" self-boring bit. This thing saved me hours of tedious drilling.

Drills Review The Standard
I have 7 1/2 in drills, including a Milwaukee 299, a Dewalt, and a Haitachi. This sets the standard. It is so smooth, it is a joy to use.

Drills Review Great Storage System
The Hyloft is perfect for us, as we have a high ceiling in the garage and lots of things we want to save. I ordered 2 systems thru Amazon and initially tried to install them. I watched the video yet found the studs to be very difficult to locate.

Via the Hyloft website, I found a local operation to install them. The company, however, needs to make money as well and required me to have at least 4 units to install versus the 2 I bought here. I completely understood, especially given the drive time and fuel costs.

The Hyloft system itself is a great way to expand your storage and provide an archival system for things you just can't throw away.

I'm very happy I worked through an expert company who installs these daily. It took them less than 2 hours to install 4. They had to drill thru steel to access the wood stud, which was even hard for them. They Hylofts are now perfectly aligned along the ceiling which looks very clean. The extra cost was well worth it.

Drills Review THESE ARE THE BEST!
I just recently gutted my garage and played my own version of Clean Sweep. Couldn't have done it without these. We installed 3 and it took several hours but WELL WORTH IT! Highly recommended, you'll be more than pleased!

Drills Review Great Space Saver!!
I bought two of these and cannot believe how much they hold. It took my husband three hours to install with much of that time finding the first stud. Someone wrote a review about their unit only having two support beams, but each of mine has four as pictured. My huband said the instructions are easy to follow and the assembly is painless. I just love how nice they look and how much stuff I was able to pile on them.

Drills Review No more thorns in arms or face!
I have to cut fronds off pygmy date palms that have up to 3 inch needle-like thorns which can penetrate to the bone. I also trim Bougainvillea and roses that have sharp thorns.

The Pruning Stik is a dream to use for these applications, as it facilitates standing safely back from the plant and allows cutting of the selected frond or branch easily.

After suffering many painful wounds, it is a pleasure to eliminate the risk of injury.

Drills Review Works like a charm!
This is the best pruner I have used! It is lightweight, and easy to use. The feature I like the best is the long reach you have when using it. It makes it very easy to reach up or into tangled branches. It's quite fun to use.

Drills Review First Rate Product and First Rate Customer Service
I purchased a Fiskars Stik several years ago and use it at least once a week here in Florida to cut back something or other in the yard. It's a quality product that does a good job on small to medium sized branches, shrubs, etc. Somehow the knot on the strap that pulls the cutter came lose on the handle and pulled out of the Stik. I emailed Fiskars to ask how to fish it back through the Stik. They told me it couldn't be easily done and sent me a new one! For something several years old (and I told them it was old) that is amazing customer service.

Drills Review Very powerful, nice angle drill
This drill was used while finishing a basement, especially boring through floor joists and 2x4's to install wiring.

It was more than powerful enough and the LED proved to be more than a novelty - it ws very handy when sticking the drill into tight spots!

The only knock I have against it is the same for all Makita drills: the chuck will not stay tightened for more than a few minutes and continually has to be retightened. My Milwaukee, Sears and DeWalt drills all stay tight without applying gorilla-torque.

Other than that, this is a very good and easy to control tool.

Drills Review The Best
I have all three good ones. Milwaukee, Bosch, and Makita. The Makita is the best, Bosch second, Milwaukee third. DeWalt did not place.

Drills Review Fine Product
This is a great drill. Free delivery was quick. I am very satisfied.

Drills Review excellent tool for the home owner
easy to use, blade changing is simple, heavy duty for most all home jobs, great ergonomics , excellent tool for the price.

Drills Review The saw for everything...
This saw is the one tool everyone needs to have...it's the tool that seems like it can cut anything that needs to be cut, except maybe for mouldings. So much power, light-weight, blade changes are way easier than they used to be, and it's an American-made Milwaukee so you know it'll last. Enough said.

Drills Review The original - why get anything else?
I had used recip saws over the years, but never enough to really justify purchasing one, or so I thought. That all changed when I got the 10-amp Sawzall listed here. I've found this saw to be useful for all sorts of home improvement cutting chores.

This tool is very smooth, quite a bit less vibration than I have experienced with other recip saws. All the Milwaukee blades I have tried are high quality and work well. Ten amps is more than enough power for what I need, and this models seems to be a nice compromise in weight/power.

I avoided the big box stores after hearing stories of 'price-leader' models, and went to a tool dealer to get a reconditioned version. My 'remanufactured' Sawzall appeared to have never been used. No breakage, no complaints in the two years I've owned it.

I'm not a brand snob - at least when it comes to deciding between the larger, reputable name brands, and have had good luck with Makita drills and saws in particular. But honestly it never occurred to me to buy anything other than a real Sawzall. Like the original Skilsaw, they're just that good.

Drills Review Best I've Used
I do a great deal of brush cutting while maintaining and building trails and have used many brands of loppers. None were in a class with these Fiskars. They cut large branches with amazing ease and are much lighter to carry than any other loppers I have used. I highly recommend them.

Drills Review Does the job
Typical Fiskars...high quality and with the gearing makes lopping a easy task

Drills Review Great
These are the best loppers that I've ever used. After I received mine I bought two more; one for my son and one for my son-in-law.

Drills Review Quality Tools
I purchased a Ryobi combo set that included the same tools as the Makita combo set. Battery life with the Ryobi was short and the recip saw broke after a few hours. I returned the Ryobi set and purchased the Makita combo set after reading the customer reviews here.

I put up galvanized steel fence panels on my property and used the reciprocating saw to cut the panels to fit. What a difference! The recip saw cut through the galvanized steel like butter! A nice feature is the adjustable shoe. Being able to move the shoe up or down lengthens the life of the blade by moving the cutting edge to other parts of the blade. Another nice feature is the do-it-yourself carbon brush changes on the recip and drill/driver. The drill is in itself is really nice. Again, the quality of the tool was evident. Batteries seemed to last a long time.

I've grown up using corded tools [usually past down from my father] and finally decided to buy a nice cordless tool set after tripping on extension cords once too many times. Power is right up there with the corded tools.

If you are looking for a good set of tools, this is the set to buy.

Drills Review One of the best tool tools I ever bought
I bought this tool set about 1 year ago and It is so handy. I have used it more times than I can count. I am a carpenter and I use it from trim work to cutting plywood off the eves of a roof. I am very impressed with the power of the drill, the amount of work I can get out of the tools on one charge of the batteries and how efficient the tools are to use. The tools are very rugged and durable. They have held up very well on the jobsite and I use them just about everyday. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs the power of a corded tool with the effiecency of a cordless.

Drills Review Awesome drill, Great Circ Saw
Have now used this kit quite a bit while building a shed from scratch.

The drill is incredible. Great power, flexibility, balance and battery life. I have managed to break one of the two included bits, but I replaced it at the hardware store for 89 cents. The drill itself seems solid and well built, even after a lot of use.

The circ saw is powerful enough and well balanced, but battery life can be an issue if you don't plan your charges in advance.

The recip saw is nice enough and well balanced, if a little heavy (I had to do some tight cutting above my head and holding it up there was a little tiring after a while).

The flashlight? Well, it just sits there. I suppose it would be ok, but usually both of my batteries are taken, either by a tool or the charger.

The standout here is really the drill, followed by the circular saw. The fact that I don't have to drag a cord around is simply wonderful, and the 18v tools provide more than enough power for the things I do.

Drills Review You have to have this tool
I've never encounted a tool that worked better or easier right out of the box with no experience required to start producing quality work. I've been involved in woodworking for over 35 years and never tried pocket screw joinery before. I'm sorry I waited so long.

Drills Review Great even for novice
This is a great tool even for a first time user. I made perfect strong joints fast and easy. The bit is good quality. I bought the tool after seeing it used in project in a recent Handyman Magazine. After using it(62 pocket screws)to build a bench with a shelf for boots & shoes I would highly recommend it.

Drills Review Worked as expected
I have read about several projects using this jig in The Family Handyman. Well, I finally found one that I wanted to build, so I bought the Pockethole jig. I drilled over fifty holes to join a few dozen joints and the jig performed as expected. I have never used a biscuit joiner or dowels (or any other joint technique, for that matter) so I really don't have anything else to compare to. It has seemed like a good purchase so far.
