Drills Review Best thing since portable post hole
I have used one these for years as a residential electrican installing hundreds of switches and outlets a year. I would never have lasted 30 years without one, great time saver too.

Drills Review Electrician
I have used this drill driver for over 2 years and never had a problem. The battery will last all day and then some. I do commercial Electrical work and I am very hard on the drill. I use it constant all day long 6 days a week. I have dropped it from some 6-10 feet and it still keeps on ticking, I don't recommend dropping any tool of course but accidents happen. I have charged the batteries no less than 300 times a piece and they still perform like new. This is without a doubt the best tool I have ever purchased in 25 years. I have always been happy with Panasonic products. I feel so positive about this drill driver this is the first review I have ever taken time to write.

Drills Review pansonic drill driver
i am a mechanic at a mercedes dealer, i've used and tried many-many drill drivers, & this panasonic is the best. it is the fastest at 600 rpm. very light. easy to use. the electronic clutch is very adjustable and precise for torque settings,i use it everyday with only one battery; the fifteen minute charger is a must. this is a pro tool and well worth the money. the only other driver comparable is the milwakee but slower at 450rpm. the panasonic driver is the tool for interior work. i recomend it highly.

Drills Review Tough, Versatile, Lightweight & Powerful
This drill is great. I have this and the 2620 3/8" drill and they are the pair of the century. This drill stacked up against every other drill I tried. The only other drill that came close was the Milwaukee, but it was much heavier. I highly recommend this one. The 977510 is tough, versatile, lightweight & powerful.

Drills Review If you need only one tool
If I could take only one power tool with me! Smooth runningand lots of torque. Hammer action also. Handles like a smaller drill, Easy on the arms when working overhead and size allows you to get into places others don't fit. Uses standard shank drills,a plus. We've used ours to anchor Telco equiptment in concrete floors and walls. If you're not careful she'll go right thru the deck.Thats 3" reinforced concrete with a 3/4" masonry bit. Will do wonders thru Mild Steel. We take it on the jobsite and amaze all those guys with Milwaukee or Bosch drills. It would be well worth if it were only a regular drill. 3 Years of service without repairs.

Drills Review Makes Dust of your Masonary!
This is one, beefy gem of a hammer drill. It has plenty of power to handle ANY of your drilling needs and can make a 1/4" hole through a solid red brick (not the morter)in 42 seconds! Whats nice about this drill is that it's compatable with all your standard-shaft drill bits, unlike an SDS hammer drill in which you would need an adapter to use them. Also, SDS bits are more expensive and sometimes harder to find than standard-shaft hammer bits. When the battery in your cordless drill dies and you forgot to recharge the spare, no problem! Plug it in and press on! Most of my application is to set anchors. With it's 2-speed variable control, it provides great control on a variety of surface textures and reduces "walking" away. The maximum size hammer bit I've used to make a hole so far is 5/8" and had no problems making dust out of a reinforced concrete building. I have no doubt it has enough power to make a 3/4" hole... maybe more! The only drawback I have found is that the hi-low speed switch jams sometimes, and you have to rotate the chuck by hand while turning the switch. This is addressed in the owners manual, but it does slow you down. If you have to drill BIG holes in one-shot, fork over a paycheck and get a SDS or Spline-drive hammer. They are great at doing that job. Otherwise, you can make big holes with this beauty by drilling a circle of smaller holes and chisel them out. Porter Cable makes a great, reliable product. This one is no exception.

Drills Review awsome tool for the price
very strong great features and is made by major manufacturer under skil name a real good buy. I use it at work and home and beats the yellow brand which I use to swear by ...

Drills Review A real workhorse
I have been using this for about six months and have almost retired my 110v drill. With two batteries, I never get a break between jobs and this drill has power to spare. I have been putting up a wooden fence on top of a concrete block wall and this thing outperforms my expensive 110v B&D. After only three 3/8" x 2 1/4" deep holes in the concrete, the AC drill was getting hot. The Skil worked right through without a complaint. The Bosch masonry bit isn't bad either. Additionally, I was drilling 1/2" holes in redwood plate and 1/4" holes in eighth inch metal strap as part of the masonry drilling. When drilling the metal and the bit first pokes through, the drill almost torques out of your hand. I did three battery changes for a day's work. The batteries charge quickly but, as a hint, fully drain the battery before recharging and let it cool off before putting in the charger. This applies to all DC tool batteries. The on-board bit carrier isn't much of a feature but its there if you need it. The drill is lighter than most DC tools costing much more, is well balanced and, at the highest torque setting will drive 3 1/2" screws into studs without maxing the clutch.

Drills Review Amazing Value
I've been using supercheap 18-Volt drills (Power-Craft, Aerotec, etc.) that you can get on other sites for $30. After going through 3 of them, I finally decided to go with a name-brand. The difference in quality is unbelievable, and the price difference isn't that significant when you factor in the extra battery. I'm sure that Skil doen't even compare in quality to Dewalt, Milwalkie, and the other big "professional" names, but those names are twice as much, and for my purposes, this thing is perfect.

Drills Review WOW. The best knife ever!!!
I found this knife one day working at my current job. We run a garden center and when it is busy there is nothing like having a tough knife by your side. Now over a year later and only sharpening it twice I still recommend it highly and i am bying a new blade finally because of the convience it is to buy one!

Drills Review Using the Stanley 1-0049 in Packing Plastics
My husband uses his Stanley 10-049 for general use and while packing plastic products at work, where it gets use constantly. It holds up well and cuts through tape and cardboard boxes all night long. Working 7 days a week for 8 hours or more it went over 6 months before needing a new blade! A simple, quality pocket knife.

Drills Review Stanley pocket knife-chosen over all
I work in a production greenhouse where having the right knife makes all the differance. We use the Stanley pocket knife to propagate several hundred thousands of cuttings a year. This knife lasts through our busiest seasons and then keeps going. The size is perfect to fit a small hand. The blade is easy to change and inexpensive too! Of our modest crew, all use the Stanley pocket knife, even when they could choose a more expensive type. It is very versitile, and has been used in all aspects of the business, from taking delicate cuttings to slicing open huge soil bags. When the day is over, I take my Stanley knife home with me and find it does even more jobs there than at work! The hardest part is that we can't buy them locally, as our hardware store no longer open. I was sure happy to find them on Amazon.com! Will they some day come in colors so we can tell our Stanley pocket knives apart? Hope so!

Drills Review An indestructible tool!
Having owned two of these pry bars for years, I must say this is a must-own tool if you plan on doing any sort of extensive renovation - especially if it requires any sort of ripping-out, tearing-down, or prying-loose activities. I have beat on this bar with a hammer, used it to pry loose uncountable objects, pulled thousands of nails with it and I cannot fathom an occasion when it would break.

Extremely useful and quite indestructible!

Drills Review A Wonder-Ful Pry Bar
For those of us that work sitting on their backsides all day, there is nothing quite like going home and destroying something at night to take out some tension. The pry bar is the perfect tool for this task.

The 12 1/2" pry bar may be a bit too short for the largest jobs, but this size is a perfect size for the majority of jobs. Whether ripping out drywall, removing molding, pulling stubborn nails, or popping tiles, this is the tool. The tool is angled differently at each end. One end is for popping items like nails. The other end is better for prying tiles, for example. Because of the different angles, you gain different levels of leverage.

This is the tool for home (destruction) improvement.

Drills Review One of the best pry bars...
This pry bar goes by many names in my field. The workders call it a 'wonder bar,' while most carpenters refer to it as a 'flat bar' and roofers call it a 'shingle bar.' By any name, it is a great tool for any home improvement worker or home owner. I have been using this tool for over 20 years. While both ends are beveled, myself as well as other workers, have found that grinding back both ends sharper to produce a longer bevel makes the performance even better for taking out and removing roof shingles and flashings. I have even used this tool to chisel out bad pieces of decking. The curved end of the bar can be placed over the head of a gutter spike and struck with a hammer to remove the spikes without damage to the gutters. The bar also comes in handy when on a steep roof or working around chimneys and dormers. The bar can be placed between the space in 1-by decking to help support your foot on a steep pitch roof. It is made of fine quality steel that will last a lifetime.

Drills Review You need these
If you ever mount hinges, drawer sliders, latches and stuff, then these are great. The screw hole is centered in the hole and the installed part looks so much more professional than those with amateurish crooked bunged-up screws.

Also, there is a depth adjustment so you won't drill through the side of carcasses, drawer sides and such.

Wood chips can keep the tool from retracting sometimes, and that is annoying, but there is no way to prevent it and you will get in the habit of pulling it out manually when you have to. The utility of the tool far outweighs this little problem.

Drills Review Excellent tool
I had 15 interior doors to custom finish and install. Never done it before. Besides the usual learning curve, these bits made the hinging process nice...the coup de grace! Make sure you are mindful of the size of screw you are using...and get the correct size Vix-bit.

Drills Review Vix-Bit 3VIXBIT Pre-Drill Bit For 5/64" Hinges #2, 3, and 4
If you have ever been frustrated in trying to drill centered holes in hinges, lock plates, strike plates, etc., then relieve your frustration by buying all three sizes of these bits. It will make drilling properly centered holes painless.

Drills Review The perfect fan
I'm one of those folks who can only sleep with "white noise" in the background. I used to use big Lasko box fans, but the cheap plastic blades on those would eventually weaken and flap around, making a roaring sound. Plus the poorly designed and made screws that held the grills in place would eventually weaken and cause the grill to bang against the metal box, making a tapping sound all night long the would wake the dead.

I was a little nervous about getting this fan as I'd only been used to huge box fans, and this one seemed too efficient and quiet to make a real difference in the air and making "white noise" to fall asleep to. I actually purchased it at Bed Bath and Beyond (not Amazon) for $100, so I'm not sure if there is lower price out there somewhere. Anyway, I wanted to try it at home to see what I thought, thinking if I didn't like it I could return it.

The fan was incredibly easy to put together, and you can make it two different heights ... short near-the-floor height, or "my bedroom is so hot I need a fan blowing right on me as I lay in bed" height.

On low, you can barely hear that the fan is on, however it moves about as much air as a big box fan does on high. When the Vornado is on high, it makes a pleasing white-noise sound, and REALLY moves the air around in the whole room. It's easy to adjust to point it where you want the air to go. I point it at the upper corner of my room so the air bouces off and travels everywhere else ... it really works!

The grill is extremely easy to remove (no screws at all ... just four secure clips), and the fan blade slides right off the shaft (no screw there, either). This will make it simple to clean just under the faucet in the sink or bathtub when it inevitably gets dusty and dirty.

If you are looking for a whole room circulator or a white-noise sleep aid, I couldn't recomment any fan higher! Good quality construction and well-engineered thought went into every aspect of this product. You won't go wrong.

Drills Review Vornado 215B Classic Air Circulator
I'm a cyclist and this fan made all the difference in my indoor workouts. It will definitely keep your upper body cooler. It's even strong enough to create that fluttering sound the wind makes in you ears when you are riding. You can adjust the height too (low-high) so you can look over it and watch the TV.

If you just want to get there air moving in your room, I'm sure this fan will do the trick. Highly recommend.

Drills Review good, but an older model
The 285 and 785 offer the same height adjustability but with continuous variable speed rather than three speed settings. The 285 is the next model of this fan, while the 785 is the "maximum air circulator" model and the one I have. the 785 boasts a full lifetime warranty as opposed to the limited lifetime warranty of the 285. I have been very pleased with my vornado purchase, and have found their customer service easy to reach via email.

Drills Review When you have to put together BIG wires, use this!
Soldering irons are great for electronics component and circuit board assembly, but when the occasion comes when solder has to be applied to big wiring (or removed from it), the volume of metal sucks away the heat faster than an ordinary iron can apply it. On those occasions, only a solder gun or a gas torch applys enough joules of energy for the job, and a solder gun does a much neater job without endangering nearby possesions. Weller is the industry leader for these devices. Changing tips is a bit of a hassel, and somebody at Weller needs to revisit that engineering, but its overall a very nice tool for what it does.

Drills Review Soft and Gentle on Walls, Fits MT-22
Since Werner doesn't explicitly state that these will fit a Werner MT-22 ladder, I had to buy these hoping they would. The good news is they do! In fact, they fit great - nice and snug and won't come off unless you pull them off. They slipped right over the ends of the ladder and protected my new (and still a bit soft) paint from the tearing and scarring that the built-in black MT-22 tips were causing.

If you need to get back up a wall to paint a second coat or do trim work, but don't want to wait several days (or possibly week(s)) for the paint to fully 'harden', get a pair of these. Not only are they soft and gentle on new paint jobs, they're specially shaped with an angle design that matches the slope of the ladder against the wall, spreading out the pressure as much as possible. Good design, great product.

Drills Review Good Choice
I am very glad I purchased the Werner AC19-2 Extension Ladder Covers because it is a very good close fit. I can leave them on all the time and hence ready to go when I need to position the ladder up against my newly painted home.

Drills Review Easy to install, protects surfaces from ladder end damage.
I installed a pair of these on my 40' Werner fiberglass extension ladder. They work wonderful, protect the exterior wall which I was painting last fall while I moved the ladder up and down. Installation was simple - just slip these covers over the ladder ends.

On the longer ladders such as mine, which is also substantially heavier at 90 pounds than shorter versions, the ladder can be a bit unwieldy to extend or contract, or otherwise manipulate. This risks damaging the wall you're painting, unless you protect the surface from the ladder ends with homemade remedies or covers like these.
