I believe the circular saw combo kit is a very good machine.
Taking proper care of your circular is very important also.It can do wonders for you each time you start a new project. caring for your blades will make the cutting job a lot easier and smoothier too!

If you are looking for a package that can do it all this is the one for you. The battery life is great considering the power it puts out. This is not a toy but rather a very serious tool. You probably can spend less but you truly get what you pay for in this little black box. The hammerdrill capability is wonderful and I was a bit sceptic that I could actually have a cordless masonry tool that actually can do the job. The chuck tightens the bits with more power than I have ever seen. The bit never slips even in tough situations. Dewalt is a great name and they have raised the mark with this tool. It has enough power for the tough jobs without the big weight of going 24v.

First I'll highlight my experience to lend weight to my review. I am a serious DIY'er who occasional does side jobs on my own, and who often gets calls from contracters when they need a hand on a weekend job(My day job is in computers, I'm so ashamed!!).

This drill is a little different than most drills on the market because of its pistol grip design, but don't let that scare you off. That pistol grip lets you apply an incredible amount of pressure directly behind the bit your using. It does take some getting used to, but once you figure out that your index finger and thumb fit perfectly in the two groves along the top of the drill you'll love it. This drill excels for working above your head or below your feet but is very usable in the horizontal plane.

Pros:
1. Monster single sleeve racheting chuck is a joy to use, with the spindle lock it is hands down the best chuck on the market
2. 3 speeds is useful as hell. 1 for driving big screws/self feed bits, 2 for driving normal screws and spade bits 3 for twist bits (my recommendations)
3. Hammer drill, I can't say how great it is to not have to go back to the truck to get your hammer drill to drill just 4 holes
4. Inline handle makes it so much easier to apply force directly behind the bit, doesn't end stripping out bits/screws but delays it quite a bit

Cons:
1. Doesn't do stud cavity work easily
2. Speed change can be a little sticky

Good drill indicative of DeWALTS better tools. Very nice combo kit! The pistol grip has the added advantage of being able to apply more force through the bit into the work. This drill has plenty of torque for just about any job and the battery run/charge time ranges from good to great. It's probably easier just to list a couple of improvement areas (nonimpacting overall):
1) The speed range selecting switch needs to be persuaded on occasion to change position.
2) The torque clutch works better on the second and third speed range.
3) The chuck's run out could be a little better, although there is no impact from this when drilling.

All and all this is a great drill package! I'm very happy with my purchase!!

The rockhammer is of excellent quality, I have tried it in both hard and soft rock. It also should last a long time.

This is the King of Rock Hammers - best there is. Be sure to file the corners on the head if you're going to using it on very hard rock as small splinters can fly off.

I got this hammer when i was doing a lot of framing and demo work. I had just destroyed a fiberglass hammer by using it as a prybar, and didn't want to do the same to my wood handled hammer. I got this specifically for demo work. You can use it as a prybar without risk, and swing wildly at things not having to worry about damaging the handle. I ended up using it as my main hammer for framing, because sometimes you need to adjust something and don't want to grop around for another tool. Shock absorbtion seems as good as any.

I can't imagine ever owning a different brand of hammer than this Estwing. It's solid, so it'll never break, it fits perfectly in your hand and the balance is superb. It also makes a very impressive pinging sound when you hammer nails, sounding like the Thunder God working at his anvil. Do yourself a favor; if you're buying hammers, buy Estwing.

I will not say that this will be the last drill you will ever own but its the last drill you will ever want for light to medium heavy duty drilling. At this price you can not go wrong. For an all duty drill this is the best. It has more than enough power for just about any job.

If you are a gearhead used to Black & Decker or Skill quality tools, this is going to be an eye opening experience. The Milwaukee drill can out torque, outlast, and just plain outwork any other makers drill. It literally can twist you around, its that torquey. The thing can drill all day and still remain cool to the touch, and ready for more. I get pleasure whenever I take it out of the drawer I keep it in, its obvious quality is a treat to handle, and I know it *WILL* handle the job at hand, whether drilling a 1/2" hole in a truck frame to install a hitch, or finessing a 1/16" hole in hardwood to drive in a brad. You will not regret this purchase!

Wow - this is how a reconditioned tool should be. This thing has been hand inspected, polished, tuned and packaged with everything like new. Yes, there is a wear mark on the RAD, but I'll put plenty more there myself. This tool came with all the gizmos and gadgets that come in the new package (wrench, manual wrapped in plastic, chuck removal tool, new handle and extender). The quik lok cord was brand new, the drill had been freshly lubed (a little extra in the case attested to that!). The mark of "reconditioned" was discreetly placed underneath, not glaringly on top - not important, but another nice touch on the part of milwaukee. This is the second reconditioned drill I have bought from Milwaukee, and I have not found a reason to regret either purchase. I think they are better than new, since that have been tested and adjusted a second time before arriving. All the features and a lower price - Milwaukee reconditioned tools work for me.
I will be adding my review of a recon Porter Cable nailer on how a reconditioned tool shouldn't arrive.

An elcellent drill to be used in those tight corners and spaces where any other drill & bit will no go. Right angle head rotates through 360 degress to aid in those tight spaces. With the ability to drill stright as well this "specialized" tool is not. Typical Milwaukee construction. Just finished a 3500 sq.ft. home wiring job. Worth every penny and then some for timely completion especially with owner changing partitions nearly daily.

This set is well designed and fabricated. It performs very well.

Don't waste your money on those cheapie Ryobi or Hitachi countersinks available at Home Depot and Lowes. The W.L. Fuller countersinks are the finest available--sharp, durable, and well-made. I am a professional cabinetmaker, and every cabinetmaker in our shop has a set of Fuller countersinks. Nice, clean countersinks everytime.

The tapered bits this set comes with can be swapped out with regular drill bits. The tapered bits work well for wood screws, but it seems like few people use wood screws anymore. We use sheet metal/drywall screws exclusively, and find them far superior. Just put regular drill bits in your Fuller countersink set, and you're ready to roll. Save the tapered bits for acrylic and plexiglass, as they won't crack or chip the material like straight bits do.

W.L. Fuller sells an unbelievable line of specialty bits and cutting tools, and their quality is top rate on all their tools. It's a shame Amazon only sells the countersinks, but if you need a set, this is the best price out there.

Fuller is a family owned and operated business out of Warwick, Rhode Island. At a time when more and more tool manufacturing jobs are being lost to near-slave labor in China, it's great to see some Yankee ingenuity cranking out products that will still be rockin' when all that Chinese junk has been re-recycled back into beer cans.

An excellent product! It is hard to put more of a review than that. The bits are sharp and durable, and I have found several uses for the bit stops that I don't think were intended. If you need something to countersink a hole and get it ready for a screw, then you have found a tool that will definately save you time.

Does what you would expect of a flahlight with a big battery. Super bright. I use it when looking at houses, going down into unlit basements and up into attics. Gives me a really good light to look for problems

These self centering hinge bits are great for installing hinges. The nightmare is that by using a regular drill bit, it jumps and makes a hole that is not truly centered. When installing the tapered head hinge screw, it stands up above the flat of the hinge. Then you can't close the hinge properly. The Solution: Get the General Tools self centering hinge bit. The tip is a cup fit, so you are sure to get a perfectly centered hole with the included drill bit. Their are two different popular sizes, and for this kind of money, it pays to get both.
Great tool for the money. Highly recommended.

re: Bosch 11224vsr vs DH24PF

Ditto the previous review. Off hand I'd rate the Hitachi a conservative 15% more efficient at punching the same hole with the same bit. I have used the Bosch and liked it in the past but am glad I tried the Hitachi. Besides it's effectiveness it is also lighter and more comfortable especially if not using the detachable handle grip. It just seems to get after it more like the larger tools available than the mediums to smalls.

For quite some the Bosch Bulldog has been considered by many the best rotary hammer in it's class. Not any more. A local tool show had an impromtu side by side test between the Bosch and Hitachi reps- the Hitachi won handily drilling faster each time. I'm pleased with mine, powerful yet lightweight.
