I've been using Estwing axes for a decade, and I absolutely love them. They're practically indestructible, and have a good differential temper - softer on the back of the head, harder on the bit. They will take a shaving edge just as well as your hunting knife, and keep it. The back of the head will take abuse with a hammer, but I don't recommend this as it deforms your tool, I just happened to have no other way to split an elm log once - it worked! My Estwing is like a trusty friend, I cut lots of shoots and saplings for bows, arrows, fishing poles; once I cut a 13" thick ash tree, as it was unbelievably straight - very important for bow wood. I got tired, but the ax never did! It was just as sharp when I halved the 14' bole as it was when I began felling. The 13" is a great hunting companion, just drop it on your deer's rib cage and pelvic bone, and the job is done. If you're researching axes, look no further, these are the last word.

We were packing for our trip to Turkey, and at the last minute, read the guidebook, which strongly suggested flashlights (for exploring the caves of Cappadocia in Central Turkey). Well, let me tell you, we were logged onto amazon.com in an instant! After checking thru 40-50 flashlights, we settled on two choices -- this one, and another Eveready model (you can probably see it from my About You area). We liked the other ligher one best, but this one was fantastic as well (it was a dead heat, really). Both were good and probably exceeded the other for slight reasons. We liked this one for: 1) The light was very bright -- it probably was a bit brighter than the other flashlight 2) It was quite sturday -- stood up to the inevitable drops and smashes that happen on a hurried trip 3) It professes to be waterproof, which we really like, as we do a bit of boating in Seattle & plan on using it for that (rather than the other light, which doesn't profess waterproofness)

But, both were fantastic, and I'd highly recommend this one. It even came with batteries!

I purchased this drill for 67 dollars. I have pretty short fingers so holding this drill was much easier for me than Dewalt. Rubberized grip compared to just plastic one (Dewalt) provides more friction between your palm & fingers and drill. This drill just "sticks" to your hand.

Gotta love power of 9 AMP motor. It is still quiet. Cord is pretty long (8 feet?). Additional grip would be recommended because this drill is pretty powerfull and a bit heavy. Extra grip handle can be screwed into aluminum part of body (grip handle from my cheap angle grinder happens to perfectly fit this drill). Keyed chuck holds bits very well and it is made in Japan.

I use this drill to drive 4 inch screws easily in wood (I drilled pilot holes to prevent wood spliting). RPM is pretty high so when I press trigger harder screw can go through the 1 inch board pretty easily. Case provides enough storage for extras (although I have not used it to store additional stuff). I used to have Hitachi 6 AMP drill (keyless chuck) but I returned it to Lowe's because chuck did not hold bits well and I still needed more power.

Too bad that Hitachi had to remind me that I purchased Refurbished drill by putting R mark on upper part of body (looks kinda cheesy). This R mark will probably decrease resell value of this drill. However, I don't plan to sell it. It is just too good to be sold.

Warranty is one year, in case if anybody wanted to know.

Overall, I am very pleased with this drill and can whole heartly recommend it.

I'm not so sure about the recondintioned combo kit, but the new version is superior to other cordless kits I've owned in the past. I've used many different cordless kits and Ridgid has to be the best.

� Very powerful Hammer Drill runs for hours and hours with a single battery's life.
� Circular saw is strong enough to rip boards and not choke.
� Recipricating Saw (Sawzall) is also really powerful for a cordless tool - will run down battery life much quicker than the other tools.
� Even the goofy little flashlight does it's job and has a few convenient features so you can position right where you need it.
� Finish charging 2 batteries at an impressive 30 minutes - well surpassing the charge time of DeWalt, Milwaulkee, Craftsman - you name it.

The saws in this combo definitely eat up a lot of juice at once, but as long as you have a place to charge your batteries, you shouldn't have to sit around waiting for things to charge at you jobsite.

I was more than pleased when the unit arrived. I thought I hasd purchased a new unit. I immediately put it to work boring 10" deep x 3/4" holes in mature conceret and it perfromed flawlessly.

I am a man that just likes tools. I don't even uses them much, but love to have them. My bills are tough, so for this price I can't go wrong. Now convincing my wife to let me have it is another story. You know guy's "honey, you don't need this" Well birthday is coming up. I think and hope it is in the making.

I was a little concerned if I should purchase a reconditioned product but was delighted when it arrived.I inspected it throughly and could not find anything wrong with it,It didn't even have a scratch on it.If no one had told me it was reconditioned I would have thought it new brand new from the factory.

I just received my order of the "factory rebuilt" 18V XRP Drill/Driver / Circ Saw combo pack and am much relieved. I was very worried about what condition a "rebuilt" set of tools would look like. Upon opening the box, everything looks completely new. There was one tiny scratch on the decal of the circular saw, but appears to have been caused by the inside of the case it was shipped in. I just completed charging the batteries and function testing the tools. Everything works as advertised. Time will tell how well the XRP batteries hold up compared to my old standard Dewalt batteries on previous tools. The one difference (and I don't remember seeing it in the add) is that instead of the 3 year factory warranty and a 90 day money back guarantee on new tools, the rebuilts have a 1 year factory warranty, and no 90 day money back. I am a Dewalt fan and have a wood shop full of them, so am familiar and fully comfortable with the durablility and power of them. These are the first 18V cordless I have purchased (everything else is either 12V or corded), and it does not look like I will be disappointed.

I purchased this product and its a bargain for its price and in excellent condition. My coworkers all asked me where I got it and now they have bought it here on Amazon as well.

for the money I doubt you can find a drill with this many amps and torque. The thing I really appreciate is the AntiLock Control. I've been on top of a 12' ladder drilling 1/2" steel and when the drill bit gets caught there is no problem with it kicking me off into the air. One of the best satety features I've seen. If the job kills this one, I plan to get another of the same.
