wouldn't do it againWe got this for a one step down into a den. Well, this gate has a metal plate across the bottom which becaome the cause of many trips, baby included. Also, the handle mechanism actually fell open/aprt. the first time, dh just screwed it back together. It did it a total of 4 times before we just took it down. THe opening is VERY NARROW. I have many scratches and bruises on hip from that gate. DH too. If you are REALLY skinny with no dh, okay, maybe. Also, when walking through, when you turn to close and push down, sometimes the plastic didn't go under the red tab, totally defeating the purpose of the gate
Great Gate & Reasonable PriceI purchased the Center Gateway gate for our son's upstairs bedroom door. Our bedroom is downstairs and we wanted an extra barrier to protect him from the stairs at night. We also have another gate at the top of the stairs, but you can never be too safe in my opinion. The Center Gateway was easy to build and install and we're completely happy with our purchase. It's extremely sturdy and durable and worth every penny for the extra peace of mind it provides us.
Very satisfiedThis gate is perfect for the doorway in our 1 year olds room. Her older sister can operate it also, which is nice for her to be able to come and go from little sister's room. Very pleased with the product.

weak batteriesthis is a good drill but the batteries do not last very well.
they dont hold up as good as my 12 volt porter cable drill batteries do.

Batteries good for only two years of daily useAs an assembler working for Wal-Mart, I use two Makitas daily. Have found that the batteries last two years-ONLY. It is amazing. It works great with absolutely no problems for two years then like a switch, all four batteries go bad. This has happened not with one or two drills, but four different drills with eight batteries!
Worth every penny!...
This baby rocks! The exquisite balance, lightness and amazingly precise speed trigger-control make every job a pleasure. I love that you don't have to run the battery all the way down before you can recharge them, with these Nickel Hydrides. It has plenty of torque when you need it, too...but oh, what a difference that fine control makes: using self-drilling screws, I can now tackle metal doors as quickly and easily as drywall! Finesse, power, comfort...what more can you ask for?
I only wished I'd gotten one of these years ago!

Very pleasedThis is my first Dremel tool purchase. Up till now, I didn't feel the need to buy one. But after getting it, I have used it for a few tasks like sanding wood and cutting plastic, and sharpening my mower blade. I purchased the right angle attachment to this dremel and I find that is very usefull to have. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Good Product.......AlmostI read a few reviews about the poor batteries. I don't have my drill long enough to answer that issue. I do like the way the pack slides off with ease and reverses for tight spaces.
I haven't been able to keep the chuck locked as it keeps coming loose and the bit falls out. So how can a quality drill have a chuck that is poorer than my budget priced drills that I beat around? Come on Milwaukee, let's get it together.

Great drill, bad batteriesI have this drill along with the combo kit and the tools are definately top quality however, the batteries just plain suck. The battery packs always die after 18 months or so with no warning at all. They just wont charge period. You have to either buy replacement packs or get another tool, ouch.
One year laterWhen I first bought the drill, it would run all day on one battery. Now it seems like battery life is much shorter. Went through two batteries the other day before noon. Lots of power originally. Take the other reviewer's comments re: batteries seriously.

Long Battery LifeThis blower delivers exactly what I expected, only the battery life is surprisingly long- much longer than the old battery operated blower it replaced. Perhaps after a year or so of use the battery will not last as long, but so far I'm very pleased.
Power!I think this was a good investment. It is very lightweight and very powerful. It gets the job done!
Love it!This is just what I have been looking for! NO CORDS to drag and this is the perfect weight! I use it to blow the grass from my driveway, front porch and carport after mowing. I can do that 4 times before needing to change to the next battery.
SO CONVENIENT!

Absolutely terrible batteries come with this set - and they're $$$First off, the tools themselves are quite good, although there is definitely room for improvement.
Hammer Drill:
+ Great torque, good balance, solid chuck.
- No place to store screw driver bits
Overall a very good hammer drill
Circular saw:
+ Good balance, like the opposite orientation from older circular saws (i.e. this one works for right-handed folks).
- The safety switch is sometimes awkward to engage.
Sawsall Hatchet:
+ Works well at cutting through stuff, adjustable handle is nice when it works.
- Adjustable handle stops broke shortly after I started using it (they're plastic molded-in features on the case and aren't very sturdy).
Batteries:
+ They make good paper-weights
- These are by far the biggest problem with this kit, and bad enough that I DO NOT recommend buying this set. After low to moderate use, one flat gave out, and the other holds maybe 20% of its original charge. I didn't abuse the batteries and they should have lasted much longer. The kicker is that replacements are $80 each!
Conclusion: Maybe the new 28V Lithium-Ion batteries for the new Milwaukee sets work better, but don't waste your money buying any of their 18V sets.

batteries border on fraud The hatchet saw and drill are quality items, the circular saw is worthless. What makes the whole package trash is the batteries which are a joke. In 20 plus years of cordless tool use these are the worst Iv ever seen, used or heard of. Save your money and buy Makita of which the tool quality is as good and whose batteries are, no joke, 10 time better. D. Robinson
Great tools, but batteries can be an issueI love Milwaukee tools. I grew up with Dewalt (which are good tools too) and then switched to Milwaukee after selling tools at Sears for three years. The power, toughness, the ease of use are wonderful.
These tools are heavy, as well as the batteries. These tools were meant to be used. My Milwaukee tools have never let me down, but I get a workout using them.
The batteries have been an issue, but not with me. My only complaint in after some time they are hard to take off the tool. However, I have known some people who have had battery issue. My batteries are 5 years old and they still have a good charge. The new V28 system will make up for any battery problem.

Great Tape...get the 16 ft!My boss has this tape and I fell in love with it, I also havethe Stanley lever lock(see my other reviews) which is ok but these fat max's really can reach farther and with the rubber boot surrounding you can hold it better. Well I picked up the 16ft fat max and Ilike it better because of the smaller size. It fits in my handsbetter and in my toolbelt a lot better as well. My boss recently stole this tape (16 ft.) from me because he likes the smaller size as well.
One and onlyThis is the only tape I can use. Once you use it you can not go back to a weak 1" tape. The standout is 10' to 11' which is about 2x what a 1" tape can do. The 25' has a smaller case than the 35' which is hard to fit in smaller hands.
Fat MaxFat Max stanley measuring tape is the only way to go.Once you use one you will never go back to a skinny tape.

Lots of run time and light in weight, but a very poor chuckI've regularly been using a venerable, brute-strong and die-hard 14.4 DeWalt drill (DW954) that has great battery life and excellent torque but also carries a lot of weight. And, after a while, you know you're hoisting an anchor, especially when driving screws overhead as with drywall. As a handyman, I'm often installing lightweight shelves, artwork, fixtures, racks, and other objects in wood, drywall and regular red brick so after a while, weight and size DO become important. So, I decided to try the 9.6v lightweight entry from DeWalt. I purchased it from a famous home center at a great price. It has great run time per charge, maintains a relatively steady speed even in harder substances, is beautifully compact and lightweight BUT has an absolutely awful chuck! Unless you're using the newer hex-shank bits, regular round shank drills will invariably spin right out of the chuck -- no matter how hard you try to tighten the chuck -- and stay stuck in the material you're drilling until you grab and twist the bit out with pliers. It happens so frequently that it quickly becomes an almost unbearable nuisance, especially when you're "on the clock" and trying to do the work quickly. I returned mine for a full refund and have already ordered a Bosch 32609 9.6v compact drill from Amazon.com. Unfortunately, I'll have yet one more battery charger to contend with but it's reviews were so good that I have to give it a serious try. If DeWalt could re-introduce their little 9.6v powerhouse with a better chuck -- say a single sleeve ratcheting type -- I dare say that it would be very hard if not impossible to beat for performance and value.
plenty of powerI made the mistake of 1st buying a cheaper, less powerfull model. You really pay the price in time and limitations. It didn't do well on harder materials so I just use it for drywall and light wood work. The dewalt is much better and has saved me tons of time. It is powerful enough to drill through hardwood and even some brick. Unless you think you can get buy with a lightweight model, the dw926k is a good compromise between the cheapest brands and spending several hundred for a really powerful model.
Many years of satisfaction and serviceMy dad had one of these drills which he must have used since at least 1990 as a general contractor. He used it on nearly every project, without fail. I inherited it from him in 2000, and have used it for every big home improvement project I've worked on. It's always been up to every task, with plenty of power on reserve. Only after so many years is the battery starting to lose its charge, too!

More clutch problems.First of all let me say that my experience is with a P-C Model 872, 14.4 V drill and not with the 9876. That being said I feel that my experience is so similar to those negative ones expressed here that it bears noting.
I bought the 872 new in April 2000. The clutch has stripped out three times, most recently yesterday. P-C tells me that they cannot repair it under warrenty this time. What a piece of junk!
Incidently, I am strictly a home user.

Absolutely the best.I have owned this drill for at least two years. Have not had one problem with it, but then I do take care of my tools and I use them as they were meant to be used, unlike some of the other people that are writing these idiotic reviews. One guy has stripped out three clutches? Others can't get any time out of the batteries? Maybe they should read the owners manual and learn how to charge and discharge batteries. I have this drill and the 9.6 volt and neither have given me any problems. Having said all this the only thing I would do differently is I would buy the 1/2" drill, just because of that few times that you need to use a larger bit. For the difference in cost it would be worth it.

Don't waste your money...I bought the driver and saw kit and the hammer drill kit. In the first year I replaced the drill/drivers three times...while under warranty. The saw worked well and the flashlight was the best part of this kit. Now it is a couple years old and the batteries are dead and at $90 each I am not replacing them. I bought Hitachi this time with a five year warranty. I wasted $600 on the Porter Cable junk.
burnedI purchased the drill a few months ago and all was amazing. A little bit of a screamer but whatever. No big deal really. But now I am on my 3RD CHARGER and have to buy yet another battery!!!!! The power of this drill is great but ..., chargers and batteries are not cheap. At least to me they aren't. Too bad you can't combine DeWalt chargers with the Porter Cable drill. Then heaven would truly be on earth. If you buy one, make sure you have the extra money to buy replacement parts. Lates.
Absolutely love itIt is the most used portable tool in my house. It's kinda heavy after a while, but the power and usefulness overcome that big time. After many projects, it still works flawlessly like day one. There is nothing I hold back on this tool.
