Drills Review Tremendous power, BUT!
The P-C 2611 is a very strong drill and has demonstrated it's willingness to bore through various materials with vigor. However, this is supposed to be a variable speed drill and it has so little feel or touch at slow speed that I had the trigger switch replaced by a P-C authorized service center. No difference. Trying to use it as a driver is frustrating as it's too difficult to develop and maintain a controlled speed appropriate for driving screws. Lots of willing power for drilling but if I were just using it to drill I would have bought the 1/2". Weight is well balanced and of course construction is top notch.

Drills Review A great high-speed corded drill
The Porter-Cable 2611 is quite possibly the best high-speed corded drill on the market. It has a very powerful and smooth-running motor. The fit-and-finish of the tool is the best that I have seen for any drill--period. The ergonomics (balance, grip, ease of operation, etc.) are superb. Drilling/driving at low speed takes a little practice, but is quite manageable. However, the drill really shines in high-speed drilling applications, such as pocket-hole joinery. The Porter-Cable 2611 is a rock-solid, high-performance drill. The only serious competition is the Milwaukee model that is in the same class.

Drills Review Good for light duty work
I have used this metal cutting disk with my Zipmate on the Rebel model Rotozip. I found that it's average at cutting sheet metal roofing but works wonderfully on synthetic compsites like fiberglass and vinyl. Do NOT use it on wood based composites like masonite; its burns them and destroys the wheel edge, too. The Zipmate works well on a Rebel, but takes some patience and practice to master. With the metal cutting wheel, it's like a little cutoff machine, but not for big, heavy iron pieces. It does best on smaller, thinner stock. Beware of blowing dust and cutting fumes when using the metal cutting wheel. Have plenty of ventilation in the area where it is used and wear goggles and a dust mask.

Drills Review Rotozip ZWMET1 ATTACHMENT: POWERFUL BUT DELICATE
Undoubtedly, This is the best device for making a fast metal cut. I used it for cutting a 1"x1" 1/16" thick iron angle and it was cutted well and fast, but the ZWMET1 disk got wasted, it reduced to 1/2 diameter, I suppose, because I did not use it in the right angle because The Zip Mate does not let You see the cutting line completely.

The ZWMET1 is cheap and with practice, Youll make it work more efficiently that I did, so the first time, buy some of them !

Bye.

Drills Review Amazing Rotozip Bit
This RotoZip Bit is amazing and a much needed item for your RotoZipping works.

Drills Review A Bit Agressive
I wouldn't start a drywalling job without this bit tucked into the storage handle of my Rotozip Rebel. It's bigger than the standard guidepoint bits, but then it does bigger jobs. Just remember to travel clockwise around the window or door opening, and this bit does all the rest. It quickly produces clean, smooth, accurate cuts without wandering all over the place. The secret is to have the depth set just right; not to shallow, so the guidepoint tip provides steadiness, and not too deep, so the bit doesn't cut into the studs. No drywaller should be without this bit. Thanks, Amazon!

    Drills Review Power Drain
While I liked the torque offered by this tool; I am compelled to warn people of its 2 most frustrating flaws.
    1) The batteries discharge in two days with no use- just sitting in the case.
    2) It takes hours for them to recharge.
If you are using this tool around your house you will probably like it, but if you are trying to make a living with it, I strongly recommend that you look somewhere else.

Drills Review Not Pro Quality, But Definately Good
Justa quickie, since Amazon says out of stock:

I went to HD looking for a cordless set. Thought $250 would do it, and I was hoping for $180-200.

There was a display on the floor with this set. $100. Sold.

I've since picked up a new set of batteries as long work around the house and property tends to leave you waiting for a recharge. However, for convenience, ease and simplicity, this is it. No cords. No bringing tons of crap to the site. Just grab a cordless and go.

Well worth $100. Worth more to you? That would depend on your budget. Is it worth a $300 savings over a Rigid or Makita? I think so.

    Drills Review Does the job
While I have a regular wet tile saw for straight cuts, I needed something to make a cutout for the electrical outlet that overlaps the top of my new ceramic tile backsplash. This "Enkay" brand bit, made in China, did the job nicely, leaving small parallel ridges along the cut edge of the tile.

I don't expect this item to have a particularly long life (it is marked as "not for floor tile", which differs from wall tile only in thickness), but that's generally the case with rotary tool bits.

    Drills Review Considerable Disaster Relief
Having suffered terribly in the tropical heat in the aftermath of a couple of hurricanes last year, where it took from one to three weeks before power was restored, when I found this fan on sale at a local store, I purchased it and what seemed to be a large supply of D cells. I really was surprised, however, when I actually ended up needing to use it for just that purpose. We were without power for a full week (and that was lucky!) and was grateful to have the fan (some others in the region will be without for as much as three weeks! and the weather is warming back up a little... they will be wishing they'd bought one of these). It's simply amazing the amount of pure joy and relief one gets when the power comes back on!

It seems to be a fairly good quality fan, though not particularly robust (in some ways it seems a little delicate, such as the plastic switch and battery compartment cover--but nothing has failed in any way). It provides a fairly full breeze, though perhaps considerably less than half what an AC powered fan of similar size would provide (still it was easily enough to allow me to sleep, even on low setting). It makes a reasonable hum on low with fresh batteries, almost a little noisy on high--however, before long the batteries will weaken and the hum is hardly noticeable). It opens like a book with one side, the base, heavy with batteries, so it's quite stable where it sits. This fan in some ways though, is not a small one. It's around a foot wide (11.5in)--so the U shaped base will require a modest open space (11.5x8in) (probably only packrats like me would even notice that) to put it. The way it folds opens allows you to adjust the angle (up/down), which I did find useful.

The only real problem with the fan is that it is not cheap to run. I found battery prices on store brand D cells to run around a dollar each (give or take, and your mileage may vary). It may indeed still be running after the quoted 24 hours, but just barely. While using it somehwere around half the day (and night), I did have to change out the batteries on the second day--so the claim isn't far off). However, when you actually change EIGHT D cells, you realize how much battery that really is. Plus, if you find yourself without power for an indefinite period of time (such as following a natural disaster), you'll be trying to use it sparingly as you look at your now precious and limited supply of batteries (say 4 sets at $32). After several days, you'll think it really eats batteries and you might find, as I did, that even once most stores have reopened, there isn't a single D cell battery to be found. My usage ended up being about $4 to $6 a day, and when doing without power that doesn't seem so bad (however, had it been hot like last year, I'd have been using twice that running it all the time--possibly on high--and I would have run out of batteries... such a stock would have required at least $80, and more likely $120 or more--just for 10 days).

I considered rechargeable D cell batteries and a solar charger, but found the prices in the neighborhood of $10 each, which would be an $80 option--without the charger. However, very conveniently, it does have an external power socket for 12V--so if you get an adapter cord and have a spare car battery or portable battery package it could be a handy way to run it for longer periods (of course, it would easily work fine in the car with the appropriate lighter plug adapter cord, except that it's relatively large and would really need it's own open seat). I wish they had a rechargeable version with an external battery pack option.

Overall, I think a single person could probably get by with a smaller, less powerful (and consumptive) fan--but it did provide a very comfortable amount of air (useful even when the temperatures didn't reach uncomfortable levels--and seemed well worth the cost). To provide a light breeze for a larger area such as for a whole sofa or queen bed, this is a good way to go (just buy a considerably stock of batteries). Alas, I can't imagine much use for it short of power outages or camping. The best bet would be to have both this fan and a smaller one and use them as required.

Drills Review Very usable set of points. Awesome price.
I got this kit when the similar few bits that came with my mini-tool did not have the profiles I needed. I wanted to write more information on the back of my kitty's tags, such as alternate phone numbers. This kit gave me the choices I needed.

The end tip of the bit I used was a little out-of-center from the shaft, but I found if I wrote with the bit tipped like a normal pen, instead of straight up & down like a drill bit, it worked pretty good.

Most of the other bits seemed more uniform. This kit does the job I need, and is an awesome price. If you are looking for very high precision items then I think you should first start with this kit, because you are going to pay more than what this costs for each bit otherwise. But if you only want the best, this may not be for you.

Drills Review Good value - limited protection
I use these masks when I know that I will be creating fine sanding dust in my woodshop or when sanding drywall mud. They are fairly form fitting and shapable which makes them effective as well as comfortable to wear. What I like most about these masks is that they don't let a lot of heat/moisture build up inside (always uncomfortable) yet they do their job well. The only thing to keep in mind is that these are not meant to protect you from solvent fumes...just dust.

Because I can use one mask for several days, I find these to be a good value for the money. I highly recommend them to woodworkers.
