The 4 1/2" capacity of these jaws is useful when you are tightening alternator belts on an engine. It is not too difficult to hold the belt tight with these pliers in one hand while you tighten the nut with the other. They will damage fasteners if used in place of a proper wrench.

They are also useful to loosen sink traps and other large plumbing nuts, if they are not "stuck" or located in real tight quarters. They work well on plastic & nylon pipe fittings if they are not "stuck." You can easily crush plastic pipe and fittings if you are not careful. These are no substitute for a pipe wrench, but once the fasteners are loose, these work okay.

The slip jaw can be a little awkward if you don't control both handles while setting the size.

Dap usually has very good spackling material and this is even better. The color changing ability is very handy. Wet it's pink; dry it's white. Otherwise it's basically the normal quick dry spackling that you can use to repair defects in your drywall using a spatula and some sand paper.

IF you have ever used the cheapo bits supplied "free" when you get your hollow chisel mortiser, you will appreciate the difference with the Delta bits. They are made in Austria ( a way to easily identify them.) they are sharp and hold their edge significantly better than the cheapos. The square part is especially strong, as the corners seemingly are made very strong to keep their edge / points. I heartliy recommend that when you get frustrated at teh quallity of your cheapo bits, you get a set of these... great products....

This mortising chisel and bit is finely crafted in Austria and although expensive, it is worth every penny. I have built several beautiful pieces of furniture without incident.Both pieces are of such high quality, that with proper care and sharpening, they can last for years. I would have given it five stars except for the price. (Amazon's price is on par with any hardware or other internet tool store.)

This grinder is a great addition to your workshop. Although I don't use it very often, it is a nice unit. The goosneck light is very handy, and provides the perfect amount of light to the right places. It is a little pricey compared to the off brands (a casual user like me would probably be fine with an "off brand" like "tool shop" or one of the other bargain brands. After all, I don't even know how to use it yet! I tried to sharpen a lawnmower blade and had less than stellar results. I didn't have a problem fitting the blade on the unit- there is room for long pieces- my problem was with technique. Maybe Amazon sells a book on "Zen and the art of grinding?" Seriously- if you know how to use a grinder and want to get a nice unit- this is it, but I haven't found any jigs yet that I can use that will fit the table.

This is a great grinder for the beginner. It is a Bench Grinder that does not use up your bench space. It has it's own stand, which is included. It is very good for most jobs around the shop. Quality is typical of most far east imports. Assembly was very easy. Hardware parts were very oily. If you plan on doing heavy grinding you might consider the 1/2 HP 8" grinder instead. For the price. I like it. First thing I did: used the built in drill guide to sharpen some drill bits. It worked.

Compared to the DP200 which is 20% to 33% more expensive, this drill lacks only (1) a work light, (2) uses a clamp to adjust the table height instead of gear and hand-crank, and (3) has only about 8" of travel on the quill instead of the 10" on the DP200. For the money, this is the better deal. You can often find the DP115 on sale and at that price it is a great starter drill for wood, metal, and other hobby and other work. I've used mine with sanding drums to also avoid the cost of a standalone drum sander in my home shop.

It's inexpensive, light weight and it works. If you're drilling (or driving screws) into pine 2 x 4's, plywood, etc. this drill has plenty of power. The light weight also makes it easy to use for extended periods. This is a great little drill for light-to-medium duty. Understand that if you're remodeling an old house (75+ years) where the wood feels like more like stone, you'll find it difficult driving screws and boring large holes. If you already know you're going to be drilling rock-hard materials, go get a Milwaukee Magnum (a much higher torque, more expensive and noticeably heavier tool).

I've owned the 18 volt Dewalt circular saw for 5 years now. It's been a workhorse and seems to have plenty of life left in it. Cordless convenience, no need for AC nearby, etc., etc. - it's addicting if you build much at all. But the 24 volt saw is a huge step up. I got a chance to play with one at a manufacturor's demo show. The 24 volt model is a huge improvement over the 18 volt. This baby goes through dimensional lumber with ease. Blade pinch doesn't bother it nearly as much as it does the 18 volt model. The 6 extra volts is probably part of the advantage, but I bet the extra cutting teeth matter even more. This is an expensive tool, so if you're not going to use it fairly often, say once or twice a month, you might want to stick with an AC saw. Batteries for these tools seem to survive better with regular use.
