Very nice contractor saw
Outstanding SawI have put hundreds of hours behind this saw and enjoy using it every time. I am a machine design engineer and I am impressed with the performance of this saw. One of my best all time tool purchases. Make sure you get the contractor and not the contractor II sold at Lowes etc.
Solid Contractor's SawI've been shopping for a contractor's saw for awhile and I checked out the Delta, DeWalt, Jet, Grizzly, Etc. Most woodworkers I knew had either a Delta or a Jet and both saws have staunch supporters. The things that swayed me toward the Delta were: 1) The Unifence (easy to set up/adjust, versatile, and extremely rigid/accurate) 2) Delta has a great reputation for customer service 3) The X-5 version has some heft at almost 300lbs 4) I can take advantage of the X-5 rebates that have been going on 5) 5yr warranty...I probably won't need it. The saw is well built.
I had high expectations for this saw...
Now that I've had the saw for about a month. I am still very satisfied with my choice.
I had a small shipping damage issue with a couple of parts that Delta sent replacements for without delay. I had to wait on hold, but when they talked with me, the response was immediate and courteous. I love a company that cares for customers.
I set up the saw by myself with little or no difficulties. The only thing that was close to time consuming was mounting the motor and aligning the belt properly. The Unifence was easy to set up and align. The best way to ensure that you have great fence alignment...MAKE IT EASY TO ADJUST. The fence is solid with no side deflections (I checked out all fences at retailers and at Woodworking shows, the Unifence is up there with the best). Blade 45 and 90 deg stops were also very easy to adjust.
Part finish was excellent and the saw looks like a quality piece of equipment that I will give to my sons...after 30 years or so.
Cutting with the saw was a great experience. The saw is very stable, quietly powerful and safe to operate with splitter and guard.
When I get the mobile base, I'll be able to move it around when I am using other tools.
I really couldn't ask for more out of a Contractor's saw.
Except maybe one thing...If power tools are going to be sold by Amazon or any other vendor that ships. The packaging needs to be a little more robust to withstand the abuse that individually shipped tools can get. Replacing parts for shipping damage can't be a good way to make profits. I want Delta to be around for a long time, so please spend a little more on packaging.

Solves an annoying problemAlthough I have dust collection on my table saw and other woodworking machines, the corner of my garage where my chomp saw resides is a mess. Sawdust on the floor, the walls, the shelves nearby, everywhere. The DownDrafter has reduced fugitive dust to near zero.
It is a simple, well designed unit that easily adjusts to fit behind your saw. I have a Dewalt 12" sliding compound miter saw and the DownDrafter snuggles up to the back of it nicely. When adjusting for angled cuts, the DownDrafter easily moves left/right on its wheeled stand. The hood swivels on top of the stand, independent of the hose, so movement of the hood doesn't make the hose twist.
I have the DownDrafter connecter to a Jet DC1200CK canister dust collector with 12 feet of 4" hose. There is plenty of airflow to capture most cuts. Rapidly cutting through 8" of MDF 1 1/2" thick, a dust nightmare, was a little more than it could handle. Slowing down the cut slight solved the problem.
Overall, this

Get two extra with stand When you buy the dewalt miter saw workstation be sure to get a couple of extra of thes supports. They come in very handy and mount right to the workstation. They give added support and the opertunity to use the length stops with out pulling in the extentions.Very easy to adjust.
The DW7232 can help reduce your setupI have the Dewalt miter stand that included two DW7232 stands however I was doing a large project that needed multiple stops both long and short. Instead of moving the existing DW7232 stands around constantly I added two more of the DW7232's on the main rail and was able to cut down the number of stop changes in half. In addition these added support in the middle to the long piece of wood that I was cutting. I just wish I had purchased these sooner.

Link to PDF Product Manual is WrongThis is not a review. This is just a bit of information for a potential buyer who may be looking for additional information on the 78-939 Cut-Off Stop product.
The link on this product description page, to the PDF product manual is wrong. Instead of taking you to the 78-939 Cut-Off Stop for T-Square Fences product manual, it takes you instead to the Biesemeyer T-Square Miter Saw Table Instruction Manual. This is kind of sad since I was interested in obtaining a lot more information about the Cut-Off Stop than was given in the sparse product description. I gave the product 3 stars because I had to rate this item to get the review published and I didn't want to be unfair.
I informed Amazon about this problem months ago but I see that nothing has changed.

For SafetyIt scores for function and safety but I had to remove excess paint to make it parrallel to the fence. This also improved the thickness dimension from over 1-1/32" to 1-1/64". It should be considered an essential tool for safety. I had the bruises to prove it after years of dumb luck.
Best little addition for a table sawI've been delaying buying this for years, but finally did it. I have been very happy with it's performance so far. Much easier than clamping a scrap on the fence.

Great stand needed workLove this stand from the time I saw it but was unable to find the wheels. I found the perfect wheels on a craftsman generator which I replaced with a wheel kit and used the numatic ones on my dewalt stand. It is sturdy slightly heavy but with wheels just what I need when working alone. Did I mention it was very sturdy, sets up fast, anyone ought to be able to figure out the wheel thing. I really like it.
Buy the DeWalt ....Forget the BoschI just received my DW723 Miter Saw Stand from UPS. Setup is opening the box and unfolding the legs and clicking in place. I LOVE IT. I bought the Bosch 4212L and thought I would buy the Bosch stand until I read that it can take hours to assemble. That was it for me. Buy the DeWalt, you'll love it.

Like a RockAbsolutely the best value out there in miter saw stands. I've had this stand for 3 months now, using it almost daily. It's almost unbelieveably well built for the price.
First the positives. This stand is very sturdy and has very little flex, even with the arms fully extended supporting a 12 foot treated 2X6. I use it with a Milwaukee Magnum 10 inch compound miter saw, so the saw itself is not light.
Also, the stand sets up LEVEL. I mean all 4 legs sit on the ground. It was unbelieveable the stands I looked at in some home centers that had a slight rock in them even with a saw on board, and some were twice the price.
Assembly was easy and took less than 15 minutes. Oh, and not least of all, this baby is American made.
Possible issues with this stand are few. First, it's heavy. Honestly, when the box arrived it was difficult to wrestle into the basement. It's a little easier once it's put together so it's more compact, but if you'll be moving it a lot, the weight could be an issue.
Secondly, the adjustment knobs are plastic. I haven't had a problem, but anything that you need to use to tighten a bolt should be steel, not plastic. I'd be willing to pay an extra $5 to have real steel.
So there you go. Rock solid, American made, and does what it's supposed to do. 5 Stars!

Rock of GibraltarI can't imagine a sturdier saw stand than this. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the shipping carton kept this behemoth in place and intact during its travels to my home. The setup was simple, taking perhaps 10 minutes. It is obvious one can pay twice as much for a stand which may be lighter and sexier, but the value is here.
Note the mounting setup is such that the holes need to be parallel. The mounting holes on my Hitachi C10FSB are in a triangular pattern, necessitating my first having to mount the saw to a plywood base, and then to the mounting bars for the stand. Perhaps a more expensive stand would accommodate either mounting pattern, but I was unwilling to spend the extra $$$, and am content with the result.

Great dealI was slightly concerned about purchasing this product after reading reviews describing assembly problems and durability issues. When I received my StableMate, the assembly was a breeze. The unit is very well constructed and easy to set up for use. I had looked at other brands, but for the money this unit beats the others hands down.

A few minor design faultsRead the instructions very carefully before assembling, especially regarding the roller height adjustment. A redesign of this feature is needed to make it easier to change the height to accomodate different miter saw table heights. As it is the square steel tubing holding the rollers can only be raised or lowered with a hammer tap once you assemble the stand. A second minor fault is the latch holding the stand together in the folded position. The latching mechanism disengages easily causing the stand to unfold. This is both unsafe and frustrating while transporting. Also, storing the stand upright against a wall is difficult as the tires make it roll out. This a quality built stand. The roller height adjustment problem seems curiously out of line with the otherwise great design of this stand.
Great StandSimply said, it's excellent. I'm tall, so the only know I would have is that when toting it around, I wish it was a little longer so I wouldn't have to bend.
Miter Saw Stand is GREATThis stand makes our work go much more quickly and accurately. I just about don't know how we ever got along without it. If you do a lot of cutting 2x4', 2x6's, etc., to length, then you will love this Miter Saw Stand.

worth every pennyIf your saw never leaves your shop, this is ideal. Built well and easy to assemble, I am very happy with this purchase. THe stand is very portable and folds down easily.
Perfect companion to the Bosch 5412LAs with most things, you get what you pay for. After quite a bit of investigation, I settled on the 2875XL. I'd been looking for a stand for my new Bosch 5412L saw and had all but given up (thinking to build my own) when I found this. At $329, it's definitely not cheap. But then again, neither is the saw and I didn't want to shortchange myself on any usability in the shop by cheaping out on the stand.
So far, it's been awesome. It is very solid and with the casters locked, it doesn't move at all. Sure, you won't go lugging this setup to a jobsite but rolling it out of the basement and into the garage is easy. It was kind of a pain to put together, as the directions are pretty bad. In spite of this, beginning to end, including time to measure and drill the holes to bolt the saw to the top, was about two hours.
Someone else pointed out that it could be kind of topheavy, which is true, though that's true of a lot of stands. One little added benefit that I hadn't even considered was all of the space underneath. It's a great place to stash all of those bulky tool cases. When I'm working out in the garage, I can just roll this stand out there and everything (including my drills, router, circular saw etc) is right there where I need it.
I'm pretty picky when it comes to my tools. I would have no reservations about recommending this to any one in need of a good, stable miter saw stand.

Great ProductThe Stand arrived with the box slightly torn but all pieces were there. The directions were easy to follow. This stand was built more solid then I had expected. I have a dewalt sliding witer saw and was concerned about stablity. But this stand is extremly stable, rolls easy and the side supports adjust perfectly to the saw table. This is one great stand.
It's a great contractor saw. It cuts well and can be transported with two people. However, there are a few drawbacks.
First, moving the saw always throws the extension table out of alignment. If you move the table between sites, I suggest that the table be completely removed. The table is attached with wood screws and they just are not substantial enough to hold the table while moving it.
Second, dust collection is atrocious. If you plan on using this is a cabinet shop, you need to attach something to collect dust. I tried the dust chute manufactured by Delta and it is a complete waste of time. Instead, I attached 1/4" hardboard. NOTE: the best way to do this is to attach it between the legs and frame, which requires a lot of effort.
Third, the blade height mechanism is very difficult to adjust. The blade height mechanism loosens over time. So, if you are cutting dados and it is loose, you can end up with a dado that starts at 1/2" deep and finishes at 1/4" deep. Tightening it requires that you be a contortionist or that you turn the saw upside down.
Fourth, the blade guard is tough to work with. The plastic housing does not stay up and out of the way. I eventually tossed the blade guard and purchased a Beisemeyer after-market splitter, which works great.
Fifth, I don't see any benefit to the UniFence. In the three years I've used it, I've never had a situation where I wanted to change the oriientation of the fence. But I've had many occasions where a Beisemeyer fence would have been useful. Also, attaching jigs to a UniFence is much more difficult than attaching to a Beisemeyer. [Actually, there is one thing--say you need to make 20 cross cuts in 2x4 lumber all the same length. With the Unifence, you can slide the fence back and use it as a depth stop.]
Sixth, the motor will bog down when cutting thick tough wood, like 5/4 oak or rock maple.
So, this machine gets four stars (and I put a cabinet saw on my Christmas list).
