Miter Saws Review What a DEAL
Great set of blades for a good price. The Teflon coat DOES make a difference. I was a little worried that it would turn out to be a gimmick but it really does the job.

Miter Saws Review tougher than nails
Here is a great combination of blades for the average carpenter. I absolutely love the quality of Freud blades, especially the ones with Teflon coating. It gives the blade improved lubrication while spinning through the wood, and it keeps the blade from burning your wood. The smaller Diablo blade is tough as nails (or should I say, tougher than nails?). Equipped to go through almost anything, it will hold its accuracy even in the toughest of conditions. Great deal!

Miter Saws Review restored my faith in freud
i bought a 50 tooth combo blade by freud and was very disapointed with it even though it had great reviews. but since this was already sent it was to late to cancel the order. when i did get it i put it on my porter cable 10" slider. to my amazement it cut very smoothly and with less resistance. after a cut no sanding was needed at all and no anoying blade marks. with my stock pc blade i could hold the cut piece to a straight edge and see gaps. not so with this blade. and as if that was not enough reason to buy this blade it made my saw run quieter. at 48 bucks this blade rivals those that cost more then twice as much. this is an absolute must have to achieve quality results. you wont be disapointed.

Miter Saws Review The Best Blades
As a trim sub-contractor we need the best to do the best job. We have always purchased Freud blades. This blade is designed for compound slider saws and it works great. The Teflon coating will keep pitch from collecting around the teeth that slow the cut and starts burning the wood. I have been using these blades for years never to be disappointed. We use these on our 10"Hitachi sliders and 10"Delta Side Kick saws. I feel Freud blades are the best you can buy!

Miter Saws Review Smooth as Silk
I finally wore out the Freud 80-tooth thin kerf blade on my power mitre saw. It took 8 years of general use - including several solid oak floor installations - to do it. Without hesitation, I purchased the Freud TKR806 to replace it. This blade cuts oak as effortlessly as pine, leaving a cut so smooth it shines! Its also very quiet. I have Freud blades on my radial arm and table saw and couldn't be happier with their performance. Highly recommended!

Miter Saws Review Jointable Edges
The Freud 80 tooth blade does an excellent job in my Jet Tablesaw. Very nice smooth cut. The stabilized blade is much quieter than the 28 tooth blade that came with the saw too. The edge is so nice that I don't even bother to joint the edge before gluing.

Miter Saws Review An Absolute Must Have!
Due to the smalish size of the Hitachi saw bed and fence, this vice clamp is a must, not only for cutting accuracy, but also for safety. There is a slight potential for kick-back when cutting wide material with the sliding-mitre saw so you definitely want your 'holding hand' out of the way! The assembly is a definite must for keeping the work lined up with the saw fence once you've started the cut, especially with wide material and/or the greater mitre/bevel degree settings.

Miter Saws Review Surprisingly good...
I didn't have high expectations for this saw because it was [low in price] and the bottom of the Hitachi line, but I was pleasently surprised. It seems like Hitachi cut back on the accessories to get the price low, but the basic saw is really nice. It's pretty powerful, accurate and easy to use. It really is more useful with the optional extenders (Hitachi #317542) but you can jerry-rig something together on a table. Really a great value. Note the fact that this is not a compound saw.

Miter Saws Review Great Product

Miter Saws Review The best kept secret in saw blades
I found out about these blades via the boatbuilding community, where they're widely used. The thin kerf lets them zip through wood with little or no effort, whether ripping or crosscutitng. They're especially good for cutting plywood. If set shallow enough to just barely cut through a sheet, they'll cut complex curves as easily as straight lines. I have the 7-1/4" one on my Porter-Cable circular saw, and the 10" model on my old Sears table saw. A super product at a barain price.

Miter Saws Review Great Blade
Had one of these blades for quite some time now and am very pleased of the performance staid sharp for very long time, just sent it in for its first sharpening today. Also the blade has never warped on me, Ive bound it a couple of times trying to cut more than my saw can handle(not the blade). I've cut various type of wood with it ranging from particle board to pine to oak and malamine and am pleased with the outcome every time.GOOD BLADE!

Miter Saws Review Quality Contractor Saw
The saw, extension table and router lift was delivered in 6 packages which weighed a total of 400#. FedEx couldn't get their truck up my 100 yard uphill driveway, but the driver put the extire package on a hydraulic jack and unloaded it with his liftgate. We pushed the load up my driveway and unloaded all in the garage. He waited until I inspected all the packages. With the exception of a 6 inch rip in one of the boxes, every package was in tact.

I spent an entire Saturday assembling everything. (And that included many breaks!) The instructions were not difficult to figure out. A few more pictures might have been helpful. Everything fit like it was supposed to with the exception of the blade guard. The part of the guard that attached to a hex bolt under the table didn't fit. I used a file to reshape the slot on the guard to make it fit. I only needed an assistant to help mount the motor, table wings and extension table.

The assembled saw is a fine piece of equipment. The steel table and wings are flat and with no imperfections. The motor is quieter than I thought it would be. The fence is accurate, true and heavy duty. The router lift allows you to use the saw fence with your router if needed.

All in all, I'm happy with the saw from the delivery to the final assembled product. I'm looking forward to much leisurely woodworking with it.

Miter Saws Review New table saw enthusiast
This saw is plently powerful for a novice like myself. Would like to see it shipped in better boxes. The instructions could be written more clearly with better illustrations. An expert could probably assemble the saw in 2-2.5 hours. It took me considerably longer. The steps on setting up the fence were easier to understand and accurate. Apparently the rail system for the fence has recently changed. Make sure you have the correct rails for the saw. I had to exchange mine. Once the fence is installed (take your time here)the tape measure and fence are extremely accurate. A mobile base certainly helps. The dado insert does not fit with all dado's stacked (13/16"). I may try a zero clearance dado insert instead. You will need some assistance when installing the extension table or several 4-5" C clamps. The table top is well machined, smooth, and the miter slots fit and travel well. The fence locks smoothly and glides across the rails well esp. with a coat of paste wax on the rails. Very happy with the product and would recommend it to others. I have'nt used the router kit yet so I can't comment on that feature.

Miter Saws Review Solves an annoying problem
Although I have dust collection on my table saw and other woodworking machines, the corner of my garage where my chomp saw resides is a mess. Sawdust on the floor, the walls, the shelves nearby, everywhere. The DownDrafter has reduced fugitive dust to near zero.

It is a simple, well designed unit that easily adjusts to fit behind your saw. I have a Dewalt 12" sliding compound miter saw and the DownDrafter snuggles up to the back of it nicely. When adjusting for angled cuts, the DownDrafter easily moves left/right on its wheeled stand. The hood swivels on top of the stand, independent of the hose, so movement of the hood doesn't make the hose twist.

I have the DownDrafter connecter to a Jet DC1200CK canister dust collector with 12 feet of 4" hose. There is plenty of airflow to capture most cuts. Rapidly cutting through 8" of MDF 1 1/2" thick, a dust nightmare, was a little more than it could handle. Slowing down the cut slight solved the problem.

    Overall, this

The DownDrafer has performed very well collecting most of the dust produced by my miter saw. I recommend it highly.

Miter Saws Review Simple, but effective
I really like the design of this push stick. The offset handle is a safety feature, but it also allows me to rip narrow boards with my overhead dust collector in place. I generally hold the push stick in my left hand, but for very narrow rips, I hold it with the tips of my right thumb and fingers, pulling the stock against the fence as I push it though the blade. The fence on my saw is 4" high. If I am cutting 1/4" thick stock, the offset part of the push stick just clears the top of my fence. That is, with a 4" high fence, one can use the push stick to cut material as thin as 1/4". For higher fences, the minimum stock thickness is accordingly greater, limiting the usefulness of this accessory.

Miter Saws Review Your fingers will thank you!
Last week I bought this push stick to assist with ripping some molding I was cutting on the tablesaw and I am here to say that it is worth every penny. The frustration I have felt with many of the manufactured pushsticks seem to have all been addressed here. This device is very thin, allowing you to use it on operations where the space between the blade and fence is less that 1". The rubberized bottom of the push stick combined with the small lip at the back combine to grip the wood very firmly and give you a lot of control over the piece. The hand grip is well up and out of the way of the blade, giving you an extra measure of safety and comfort. I also really like the "docking station", but wish it had a magnetic base. I may add some rare earth magnets to give mine that capability...

Overall I highly recommend this tablesaw accessory as a quality built, must-have item for a very fair price.

Miter Saws Review There is no need to measure twice anymore
This will be the second time I have had to replace the tape measure for my table saw. I bought the Biesemeyer fence system for my Craftsman table saw when the stock fence wasn't very accurate. After two years of lots of use I wore out my first tape measure that came with the fence system, I had a hard time finding a replacement for my saw since Sears quit carrying the Biesemeyer brand and I lost (threw away) my owners manual while moving to my new home awhile back. I found a place to order it from, which Has now gone out of business in town here (Post Tools)It was easy to install and as accurate as the factory installed tape. Now five years later, It's that time again after thousands of cuts and measurements I wore it out again. This time instead of driving around just to find a place to order it from and then having to go back to where ever I ordered it from to pick it up there, I can now just order from Amazon.com at a cheaper price and get it to me in the same amount of time. Recommened the replacement tape that has a self-stick back over trying to use a replacement tape that is suppose to go to a standard tape measure, I tried that and glueing a sewing tape measure to the saw. It just doesn't cut it and my Wife still hasn't let me live it down that I wrecked her sewing tape.
