I work in a school district maintenance shop. We do all kinds of projects with all kinds of wood. We needed a blade that was a standard kerf (not thin kerf) that would take the use and abuse we give. We have had the blade for a year now after seeing it at a Woodworking show and then ordering it from Amazon.com. The blade still cuts true and since it is a standard kerf we haven't seen any deflection on cuts. You can spend another $50 and buy those blades that you have to send back to the manufacturer to have sharpened but I don't see that much difference.

This is DeWalt's finest general purpose blade and has got to be the best value on the market. With blades of this caliber, it's possible to get excellent results with one blade on most cuts and materials. Savvy owners swear by the DW7657's performance, including many who have also used the famous top rated Forrest WWII 40T blade, which is well known as an industry icon. The DW7657 is uncannily similar in design to the WWII, (C4 micrograin carbide tipped teeth, alternating top bevel grind, aggressive 20 degree hook angle, superior construction quality) and delivers predictably similar results...clean, smooth, polished cuts on a wide variety of materials and thicknesses. I'm a staunch supporter of the venerable Forrest blade, but am extremely impressed with the DW. Woodworking magazines have done comparison tests between the DW7657 and the WWII and found the 7657 delivers remarkeably similar performance to the Forrest at close to half the cost. I agree with their findings and so do many others who've tried both blades. If you balk at spending $100 on a saw blade, give serious consideration to this worthy contender from DeWalt. Over the years I've gotten pretty spoiled with some excellent blades. IMHO this one deserves a place along side the elite 40T general purpose blades from Forrest WWII, Ridge Carbide TS2000, Tenryu Gold Medal, and Freud F410.

My first project was cutting molding around porch posts using plastic molding. The Shopmaster made extremely accurate 45 degree cuts in both directions (I swung the miter saw from one side to the other to make cuts). All cuts were great! Easy to use, fast to set-up, accurate miters, safe saw guards, and just a joy to use.

I used the saw to do crown molding and it worked like a charm. A great saw at a great price and well built to..

After using my Ryobi blade for quite sometime on my compound miter saw... I was amazed. The crosscut in Maple actually had a shine to it, it was so smooth.

This saw blade is nothing short of fantastic. This blade has been used to rip and crosscut all types of wood with excellent results. Leaves a cut so smooth you would swear it has been sanded. No need for a jointer to smooth edges with this blade. Absolutely NO rip-out when cutting plywood. Well worth the money.

I was having some serious issues with my previous laminate / crosscut blade, but since it was a relatively expensive blade from a reputable blade manufacturer, I assumed that tear-out on melamine and oak plywood was just something you had to live with. At a friend's suggestion, I brought the red oak plywood that was showing serious tearout on crosscuts to his shop, where he uses the Forrest Duraline HI-A/T crosscut blade. It's unbelievable -- the cuts with the Forrest Duraline blade are flawless, on both the top and bottom faces of the plywood! It's well worth the money for this blade. Why spend your time working on a project when your blade results in mediocre results??

this is an outstanding blade. I have tried many blades in my Big foot saw and this is by far the best.

I bought this blade at a tool show in my area, a step up to the Quaility of Forrest, as explained to me by the freud rep. He also explained the carbide manufacturing process, he said freud makes its own while all other tool makers by it off the open market, better control = better product, I am a trim carp/cabinet installer who cuts alot of crown & other assorted mouldings and so far this blade is doing a superior job, hardwoods, softwoods & mdf type mouldings all cut with no visable tear out, the laser cuts in the blade body arement to reduce vibration this not only makes the blade quiet but helps it stay sharp longer.
