Power, durability and economy...Be advised that Dewalt has just introduced a new battery and charger for the 24v line. The new kits weigh in at [the price] and come with two batteries instead of 1. For the price, however, this 24v reconditioned is a steal. I've also been assured by Dewalt that the new batteries will work with the old tools. They stated that the old charger will work with the old batteries, but I'm not sure if there's any penalty by not having a "fan-cooled" charger with the new batteries. These batteries offer 1.7 amp hours... The new 24v batteries offer longer run-time (~2.4 amp hours) and a longer recharge-life due to the built-in fan.
Aside from the batteries, the Dewalt techs assured me that the two saws are comparable. They said the only tool that has been changed is the 24v hammer drill (the new model has three speeds instead of two). For me, the 24v reconditioned is a good deal since I can use the battery from my 24v circ saw (also a great tool). If I was only planning on buying one Dewalt tool, I'd consider the new kit with two batteries. Pros might consider the two-battery kit as well.

non intimidating tool
I also used a laser guide with this blade. The laser guide is reliably at the left edge of the kerf, so you can get very close to the exact cut location you want.
The cutting noise is a bit lower than carbide blades with fewer teeth.
No complaints - the blade works as advertised. I also have a 7.25" Freud carbide blade on my circular saw (a Milwaukee) and it works well. This is one reason I decided on the Freud for the DeWalt saw.
