Power Saws Review Made in Mexico
A word of warning before you spend your hard earned money on DeWalt tools. Black and Decker (they actually make DeWalt) recently moved the manufacturing of DeWalt tools from Easton, Maryland to Mexico. Most of the DeWalt tools being sold now were either manufactured in Easton after layoffs were announced or were made in the new Mexico facility. The facility has been riddled with problems from day one and may never produce the same quality tools as the Easton plant. Yes, every tool maker now manufactures outside the US, but DeWalt admittedly priced their tools higher because they could stamp "Made in America" on them. Now all they have is higher prices, a bright yellow case stamped "Made in Mexico". I am not telling anyone not to buy DeWalt, just sharing the truth.

Power Saws Review A great long-term investment.
I write this review from the perspective of an aggressive hobbyist. My first power tool purchase was a DeWalt compact 12 volt drill/driver. My primary use for this tool was fixing small things in the nightclub at which I worked during my college years. As my skills gradually increased I began to take on more demanding tasks. It was clear to me that I needed some other tools and a little more power also. Frankly I didn't do much market research as I was satisfied with my DeWalt drill. Having said that, I will not compare this tool set with others on the market.

The price tag for the combo had me second guessing myself so I asked a contractor if I actually needed a $500 tool set. He advised me that I had to make my decision based on my projected frequency and intensity of usage. According to him, the cheaper tools often have weaker motor housings. In other words, the tool will break if it is pushed too hard and will, generally, have a much shorter life span. Not to mention diminished accuracy and power.

So if your usage is going to be: (1) Light and infrequent, consider an alternative to this combo. (2) Heavy and/or frequent, purchase a high-performance combo.

A word of caution, err on the side of purchasing the high-performance combo if you are not sure if your usage over time will increase.

After two years my combo still functions flawlessly.

Hammerdrill/drill/driver: This tool does what it states. It is nice having a light duty drill/driver as the 18-volt version can get heavy after a couple hours of work. For light duty work, a compact 12-volt drill/driver is ideal. Even in general, having two drill/drivers with you can save you a lot of time as you can place two different accessories in each drill. i.e. a drill bit in one and a screw tip in another. As a note, the hammerdrill feature works well, but within reason. This tool is not primarily designed for such use.
I have used this combination of drill/drivers to complete these two major tasks:
Extend a deck. Including anchoring posts into concrete footings and attaching ledgerboard into concrete.
Complete a rough framed room. As helpful info, there is a cheap depth setting drywall bit DeWalt makes that's a great time saver for setting screws in drywall.

Reciprocation Saw: There are a million uses for this saw, just pop in the appropriate blade and cut away. The only major drawback is that the saw vibrates a lot as it is relatively light weight. This makes clean plunge cuts difficult and while recip saws are made for rough cutting, it is a little more difficult to cut a straight line compared to some other recip's I have seen. Do not let me discourage you, I could list a hundred positives, but that would encompass more space than allowed.

As I truly enjoy the functionality of this saw, I purchased the 24-volt version. The 24-volt is a monster tool, but in retrospect my decision was not a good one. I already had a cordless recip; I did not need another one. I would have been better suited with a top of the line Milwaukee corded sawzall. This saw is a powerhouse, half the cost of my 24-volt DeWalt as it is corded, and an industry leader. If you ever need a more powerful recip saw, this would be my recommendation.

A final note. All of the tools in this package have been upgraded. The new 18-volt recip is a little heaver and has a 1 inch stroke (mine has inch). This may have corrected the flaw mentioned earlier.

Circular saw: This is a very functional saw. It cuts very well and comes with a rip cutting extension. I have only one complaint: The base is flimsy. It works, but a stronger base would have been a benefit.

After using this saw for 2 years, I decided it was time for me to move on to a more powerful saw. I was debating the DeWalt lightweight, high-strength base model with the DeWalt 364K which is the heavy duty version (and very heavy). I paid the extra $20 for the heavy duty model based on the reasoning that I already have a good light weight circular saw (my 18-volt). Also I may, in the future need powerful cutting power for lvl, concrete, brick, etc... Not to mention running my 18-volt through a lot of pressure treated wood is an abuse in my eyes. The 18-volt will take it, but that really is the place of a corded saw. I would recommend the DW364K if you need corded power to add to your tool set. However, I did not do any market research on corded circular saws so it may be worth your while to research some other brands for a corded circular saw (consider Skil and Bosche).

In the upgraded version of the 18-volt circular saw now available, the base plate is solid. This resolves my major drawback.

Also, buy a 24 tooth carbide blade, the 16 tooth blade included is a very rough cutting blade.

Flashlight: Works well, nice to be able to hang it on things.

For sustained work involving two or more of your tools you really need a third battery and a second charger. I would suggest purchasing another 18-volt tool you need as the cost of an extra battery and charger is significant. Do not buy the 18-volt jigsaw. It is my only DeWalt tool I am not satisfied with. The bevel lock comes loose while cutting every now and then; ruining the piece you are working on. If you need a jigsaw, purchase a Bosche; they apparently make the best jigsaws.

I sincerely hope this review helps.

Power Saws Review Greatest Tools In The Worls
Theses four tools are the greatest, The drill is the best you can buy, strong enough to drill through anything. The reciprocating saw is wonderful for anything, even a quick prune of a low tree branch. The Circular Saw comes with the framing blade, cuts quick and the blade doesnt dull if you hit a nail or two, and the light is great for when you need an extra hand to hold a light, just adjust it and set on a flat surface and you have light to work by. I have had these tools for a few months now. I even try to find an excuse to use them.

Power Saws Review A few gripes, but I would still buy it again!
As with most woodworkers, I thought long and hard before buying this saw. I have owned mine now for about 4 months, and have been using it frequently, so I feel I can make a credible review.
My saw arrived quickly and packaged perfectly. Everything was intact and went together quickly and easily. The instructions leave a bit to be desired, but they are adequate. The fence was tough to adjust, more on that later. The table is flat, and the stamped steel extensions do their job, but I am going to upgrade to the cast wings soon.

The fence. And here's the rub. As noted by other negative reviewer's, a saw is only as good as its fence. Apparently Dewalt made some of these with bum fences, so if you call dewalt with a fence complaint, they will immediately offer to send you a replacement for free, which I did. The first fence had a slight bow in it with the middle pushing in toward the blade slightly. I'm talking about maybe 1/64th over the full 31" length. Also, the way the fence is designed, you are supposed to square the fence to the table by pushing it sideways and tightening the torx screws. Well, in order to get mine square, I had to push pretty hard, but I did eventually get it squared to the table...at least when I checked beside the torx screws. At the far end of the fence, it was still out of square about 1/32. Square at one end, not at the other...yep. It's twisted slightly. "How do you fix that?" I thought, and called dewalt. My new fence arrived quickly, and...exactly the same. Still slightly bowed and twisted when aligned. Bah! I was frustrated with Dewalt for a few days there.

Then it occurred to me as I was building a custom fence for my miter saw. In order to get the fence perfectly aligned I was shimming it with playing cards and paper to get it perfect. "That's how you fix it. You shim it!" Duh. I went to the saw, loosened the 3 T-knobs that hold the fence face on (not the torx screws, this doesn't change the parallel to the blade), and with a single playing card torn a few times and some paper, I had the fence dead perfect in 5 minutes. Perfectly straight, perfectly square. Ahhh, bliss.

Sure, it isn't fun to have to shim your equipment to get it right, but there are very few saws out there that are truly perfect, especially in this price range. It's an easy fix, so shim it and shaddup. Most folks will want to build a sacrificial fence anyway, so just shim it when you put it on. Dewalt is kind enough to use a piece of MDF in the packaging that you can use... (and I did!)

Last thing on the fence. Except for the above issues, this is really an excellent fence. Mine stays parallel to the blade dead on. I don't even have to use my tape measure, I just set the fence and cut, the results are perfect and completely repeatable. Now that I have the face aligned, it truly is a dream to use.

Dust collection. Comes standard with a 90 degree elbow on the dust port that a few people have commented on. If you take this off, dust shoots a few feet out of the back of the saw making a huge mess. If you leave it on, it stacks up on the floor under the saw in a relatively neat pile. Hence the elbow. If you want to hook to a dust collector, remove the elbow and replace it with any 2" to 4" adapter. It fits perfectly, takes literally seconds to install, and works great. No complaints on the dust collection.

Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase, and would do it again today. I am replacing the standard throat insert with a zero clearance. Do NOT buy the dewalt dado insert, as it rattles and is basically a waste of money. The miter gauge isn't great, but decent. I don't trust it for miters anyway, because that's what the miter saw is for. Mine came with a free mobile base from amazon, which is super high quality, tough as nails, and a breeze to install and use.

Why four stars? The fence, of course. It has its problems, but they aren't fatal flaws. If there wasn't a reasonable fix for it, I would have to go 1 or 2 stars, because I agree; A saw is only as good as its fence. Well, with this saw, a few shims and a little patience, you'll be chuckling every time you hit the start button.

Power Saws Review Great Table Saw
I just got back into woodworking recently and purchased this table saw. I have a friend who is a contractor and he said it is very important to have a solid table saw with a good fence for accurate cuts. I did a lot of research and found this to be the best saw. It has a wide arbor mouth that makes it easy to change the blade. It is left tilt which is more stable, and the motor is induction type, which is the safest and least likely to burn out, and the on/off switch is right next to your left knee so you can turn off the table saw easily after a cut.

I've used this saw for miter projects by adjusting the blade to 45 degrees and they've been dead accurate. You really don't need an expensive Biesmeyer fence or other aftermarket fence. The one that comes with this saw is more than sufficient. You should get a different miter for cross-cuts. I recommend the Rockler adjustable miter. It's more than good enough for a hobbyist (no need for sliding tables or expensive Incra miter). You will need to get some decent saw blades. I picked up a Freud ripping blade and cross-cut blade and they've been fantastic. You'll also need a set of dado heads. I got a nice set for about $80. With this I would strongly suggest the dado head arbor plate, or you can use a zero clearance plate - I did this and used 1/2" dado head setup which is the one I use the most. This makes for extremely smooth dados and rabbets.

I also highly recommend the mobile base that is available. I did not find it necessary to purchase the cast iron extensions. The sheet metal extensions are fine for me. I'm just a hobbyist and don't have the extra space anyway.

Power Saws Review Nice Saw but not very Portable
I have owned my DeWalt Woodworkers Saw for about two years now. If you plan on moving this saw from job to job like a contractors saw then think again. It may be called a hybrid but it is heavy enough to require at least two people to move it with all the rails and wings removed. It is lighter than a Unisaw that takes four people to move.
I replaced my old Delta Contractor saw that the roofer broke by throwing a 10' 2x6 off the roof endo. It broke the cast iron table in half.
That saw was old and tired anyway. I had been using a Unisaw for the past three years for a job saw doing fine woodworking on high end homes. When I first used the DeWalt I noticed that it did not have the power of the Unisaw but it did have a precision fence and a smooth vibration free feel similar to the Unisaw.
I had to shim the fence a hair to make it flat. Squaring the fence to the table was an odd procedure but seemed to work and the fence has remained square since then. The fence locks down securely without deflection at least as good as the Biesenmeyer fence. A nice feature is that the face of the fence can drop down to the table for ripping thin sheet goods so the sheets won't slip under the fence. I have been using the saw for all my finish carpentry in several fine new homes. I also use it for heavy ripping of salvaged wood that I use for exterior trim. I am very happy with this saw. Considering that I have to move it occasionally to a job it is a good comprimise between a heavy cabinet saw and a contractors saw. It can be hooked up to a vacuum for dust collection with success and that is not an option with a contractors saw. I think DeWalt has listened to woodworkers and came up with a lot of innovative features that make this saw a pleasure to use.

Power Saws Review great saw but has one huge flaw
i've using this saw for 2 years + and i love how comfotabble it is use and the slide is without a doubt the best out there . the problems start when u try cut 1/2 a degree or even 1 degree off the positive mitre stops . i usually fit 1 staircase every 10 days or so which angle is usually between 40 and 42 degrees
I CAN NO LONGER LOCK THE SAW CLOSE TO THOSE ANGLES.
also the positive stops wear out over a short period of time so there is always 1/2 depree or more of play at o,221/2,45etc
i'm going to try the bosch next (without the laser)

Power Saws Review Worst Saw Ever
I can't say enough bad things about this saw.It is a huge piece of cockie! Stay away from this.Nothing is well designed or well thought out.

Power Saws Review Performance as its best. Another Makita's Finest!
I have a Dewalt model 705 miter saw that i've been using for the past 3 years and I finally decide to get a dual sliding miter saw.I been using other makita tools before but i havent tried yet their miter saw so I got one from Amazon and to my surprise it took a bit quicker to arrive than the expected delivery, The package looks alright and square and seems to be no damage as what have had other experienced. So I was pretty much okay w/ that. Now for the performance, I mounted a New Freud 40T Gen.Purpose blade as Idont want the crap blade that came w/ it. A Made in China thin Can!! The cuts from an any angle is superb w/o even undergoing minor calibration under a new saw blade. The saw performed excellent cross cuts along w/ Freud matching saw blades. The review also help me a lot in choosing this saw and I know makita Tools are one of the best. I also personally recommend that you use a matching Freud Crosscut saw blade to achieved ultimate performance.

Power Saws Review Precise and Well Built
I am not sure about the prior reviewers statement of being US made as mine seems to be made in Taiwan, as 95% of tools are today. Additionally, that reviewer trashes Dewalt or the "yellow" company. Well bad news dude, Dewalt/B&D owns Porter Cable and Delta. As stated before the blade is not remotely appropriate for this saw. It is however a very decent rip blade for your table saw. It is a thin kerf, 24 tooth ripping blade. I believe it indicates same on the blade.
The saw set up is incrediably easy and I used engineering squares and bevels to check the various recommended measurements. They were all dead on from the factory. The sliding mechanism is sturdy, easy sliding and build in such a way as to hold the settings. A prior reviewer disputed the accuracy of the saw due to the sliding mechanism, however I found no slop in the unit. The brushes are ultra easy to change in this unit unlike some other machines.
Overall I am very, very happy with the unit. I did pay about half of what they are currently selling the saw for due to Amazon price match. Amazon was great about the price match.

Power Saws Review Great miter saw, responsive customer support
I love this saw. I bought it for a crown molding job and it is a pleasure to use. Plenty of power and capacity. The only problem is that the saw is so heavy that I only take it out for big jobs. For small jobs, I use my old reliable 10" Delta non-compound miter saw because it's so much more convenient to tote around.

I was disappointed during my first day of usage when the included wood clamp snapped, rendering it useless. The clamp should be constructed of better quality material because I did not subject it to very much stress. However, Porter Cable impressed me with their rapid resolution of the problem. I called their support line the following morning and asked for a replacement under warranty. The support person sent me a new clamp without any trouble. Great support.

What would I like to see to make this saw even better? A laser attachment and a longer arbor to accommodate dado blades. But no one seems to make a 10" sliding miter saw with these features.

Power Saws Review Important lost manual rule.
Let me start by sharing a rule that must have been mistakenly excluded from the owners manual. THROW THE BLADE AWAY. This blade is intended for shipping purposes and as a guide to show you where a real blade should be installed. Do not under any circumstance attempt to use this "blade". Failure to comply with ths lost rule could result in your conviction as a wood butcher. A shame that will haunt you and your children, and draw questions about your manhood forever. Secondly where did you buy an American made version of this saw? Mine was made in Taiwan, and I suspect yours was too. Which brings me to my third point, your saw probably isn't reconditioned it was just made by Asians who probably hate you and me both cause we are not. My saw had the same blade marks on it. but inspection of the shipping "blade" revealed red plastic residue, this just how they cut the opening over there in Taiwan. Despite the lack of a useable blade and it not being made in the U.S.A. this is a great saw. I am very pleased with it's performance out of the box, and I reccommend buying one before they are gone being a discontinued item and all.

Power Saws Review The Mighty Mite
90% of the work I do is installing doors and windows in older homes. I use this saw to cut siding back and interior trim to allow for the new windows or doors to fit properly. This saw is perfect for this. It is light weight and the right size to get into those tight spaces. It hasn't lacked in power to do any of this. The one disappointing shortcoming of this saw however is it will not cut all the way through a 1 3/4" door. It lacks an 1/8" at the most to be able to do it. I have to pull my 7 1/4" saw out for that. You should also be careful of the base. My saw fell from 3 feet onto carpet and the base bent on the corner. I was able to bend it back but be careful.

Power Saws Review Great little saw
I got this saw to replace my 18v DeWalt 5-3/8" cordless trim saw, which is underpowered and can't handle much more than thin plywood and short cuts on 2x4s. The Skil saw completely blows it away in terms of power. I did like the fit and feel of the DeWalt better, but that was probably due more to the fact that it was cordless than anything else. The Skil saw is a terrific alternative to bulkier and heavier 7-1/4" circular saws. I almost never need to cut wood that thick except on my table saw anyway. I have a feeling my 7-1/4" circular saw is going to collect a lot of dust now that I have added this smaller Skil saw to my shop.

The only reason I gave it four stars rather than five is that it didn't come with a rip fence and because the arbor hole in the saw blade that came with it is considerably larger than the arbor on the saw. The rip fence can be purchased separately, but it seems kind of chintzy that they wouldn't include it. As for the blade, well, I'm not sure what they were thinking.

Power Saws Review The right tool for the right job.
I agree with these reviews. It is a very useful saw and I prefer it over the PC saw boss. I hardly evey have this saw out alone but it sees a fair amount of use. We treat it a little specail and make sure we don't through it around. I do wish it came with a case because like I said I think of it more of a precision tool. I have over the years bought hundreds of tools worth tens of thousands of dollars. I would rate this little saw in my top ten.

Power Saws Review sweet deal !
Not only did i get the ts350 $60 cheaper than the ts300, it was delivered right to my garage door. I am extremely happy I read the reviews posted on the ts350 as well as the ts300 they were instrumental in my decisionmaking process.
The machine arrived at 1PM and I had it put together by 2. The directions were easy to understand and all the parts were included. One suggestion to assemblers: flip over the rubber spacers below the blade cover plate to facilitate proper flushness to tabletop, a small dot of superglue applied to the spacers will also keep them from falling into saw guts during blade changes. Cosmetically, i would have thought they could get the front and rear chamfer of the extensions to match that of the tabletop. WD40 disolves the antirust wax on the bare metal tabletop. For a lifetime of rustfree use apply plain old turtle wax now and then, it's worked on my other saw for 20 years.

Power Saws Review A great deal
I have a small shop and needed to replace a small Craftsman table saw. I wanted a cast iron top for the stability. After looking at many saws and many different prices, I came across the TS350 at Lowes for $399,99. I compared this to Amazon and discovered I could get it for #268.99 with the discounts being offered plus no shippoing and no tax. Lowes refused to match the price although they had a big sign saying that they would. I was pleased to be able to get a smaller table top. My needs were for making small items and I dont plan to be in a commercial business of ripping large pieces of wood. I did read the complaints about the small table top and wondered why anyone who wanted a large top would buy a smaller saw and then complain ablut it. I read the directions through before assembly and had no problems with the assembly. I was up and running in a very short time. Read the directions and look at the pictures and you should have no problems. If you cant assemble this saw from the instructions, you probably shouldnt be allowed to play with tools. My only complaint is that it is pretty heavy and I got some help to set it upright when I was through with assembling the base and putting on the dust collector, but thats a good thing I think. Very stable and a solid table saw for a small shop. I was prepared to pay as much as 4 times the price I paid for this unit and am very pleased at getting a quality and very stable saw with a cast iron top and a smaller footprint in my smaller shop. It is a direct drive and not a pully drive so I dont know how that will effect me in the long run but there is nothing sticking out the back to bump into so I am glad about that so far.

Power Saws Review capable saw with plenty of power
I don't know why so many people said it took them 6 hours to set up this saw. I had it up and running in 2 hours by myself. It has plenty of power for a weekend warrior but the lack of brake can be a little annoying as it takes this saw forever to stop spinning. The model a step down comes with a dust collection bag but with this one, you are on your own. Someone else mentioned a 1/4 inch of play in the back of the rip fence but I found it to be very sturdy and stable. I am very happy with this saw.

Power Saws Review I thought it was good until...
I am a professional hardwood floor, cabinet, and granite installer. I bought this jig saw (mainly for its price and features) about 6 months ago to replace the old Craftman. It did a nice job, I thought. Until one day, I picked up my friend's Bosch, wow. What a jig saw. The Bosch is smooth as butter. Hardly any vibration cutting thru 3/4 Cherry. I am selling the 6266.

Power Saws Review One of the best I have used
This saw is vibration free right out of the box. The supplied blades (2) provide a clean cut with little tear out. The saw is a pleasure to use and performs well using any of the 7 available speeds. The adjustable orbital action comes in handy as well for adjusting the saw to the material being cut. I grew up using an older B&D jigsaw and there is no comparison. This saw is well built, powerful, and easy to operate. The bosch 1590 gets good reviews as well, however, the price difference and brand loyalty lead me to buy this one, and I have absolutely no regrets.

Power Saws Review It's A Feature - Not A Flaw
Another reviewer sited the lack of trigger controlled variable speed as a reason for returning this saw and choosing another brand. I typically don't like to contradict other reviewers as everyone has their own technique and application. I would, however, like to offer a bit of a different insight into the matter. When negotiating an intricate cut, any change in SPM will impact the accuracy of the cut. I always find it advantageous to maintain a constant speed throughout a cut. Maintaining a constant speed can be difficult when the speed control is integrated with the trigger. When performing an intricate cut your grip pressure often increases and decreases in and out of the turns. An increase in grip pressure can result in more displacement of the trigger and subsequently a sudden change in SPM (and an inaccurate cut). I personally like the fact that Milwaukee has made the speed adjustable via a separate control. Unlike the other reviewer, I have not noticed high torque jumps with this saw. When I need to restart a cut I always insure that I have backed the saw sufficiently away from the uncut material. This is a great saw, and though it initially seems that trigger integrated speed control would be convenient I think the separate speed control is a well thought out design. Perhaps Milwaukee may want to implement a soft-start feature if it is widely perceive that start-up torque jump is an issue. Personally I wouldn't find such a feature valuable enough to merit an almost certain increase in price.

Power Saws Review Died on the first cut
I`d been wanting a Tiger Saw for a while, and finally a home improvement project came along to justify buying one. Literally six inches into my FIRST cut, the saw died. I could get it going again by slapping the side of it while pulling the trigger, but it would cut out again within seconds. I returned it and bought the real deal--a Milwaukee Sawzall. A swiveling, rotating blade would be awesome (and I could have used it later in the project), but only if the saw works in the first place! Maybe I just got a turd, but I returned it and bought a Sawzall instead, and have been cutting away happily ever since.

Power Saws Review Wonderfully strange tool
I bought the tool for a reasonably specific task, which it did very well. I does vibrate considerably when in strange positions, but nothing else does what it does. It has plenty of power. These are not a tool used for extended periods, so the vibration is OK. Needless to say I have not yet used it in every position, but I suspect people who have owned them for years haven't either.

Power Saws Review Impossible cuts made easy
I had heard about this saw and wanted one just to have it lying in wait for the next impossible cut I might have to make. So I found out on a THURSDAY that we were awarded a job for SUNDAY, which involved removing and replacing 24, count 'em, 24 small crappy plastic washer boxes with the larger snazzier versions. This was at a dialysis center, not a laundromat--although frighteningly, there are some parallels... The old boxes were recessed a couple of feet off the floor into a knee wall poorly made of sheetrock and steel studs. These 9" square boxes had 2" schedule 80 (thick) PVC drains, all hard-piped inside the wall with no unions, 15" off the floor inside the wall. We had to cut these drains off in exactly the right spot so we could lose the old boxes and reuse the remaining drain manifold. With the counter top off, (no access panels on the front) we had 7" to reach down past the steel studs on the top of the frame, into the bottomless depths of hell: twisted steel studs, hacked-up and swollen drywall, electrical and computer lines, and tubing and piping carrying fluids to the dialysis machines. The front face of the wall was installed by Satan himself, and he TILED it with crappy white bathroom tiles, to save a buck, and tempt those of us who have to work on the Lord's Day. The old square holes had to be enlarged exactly, so we couldn't just plunge into the front with a gnarly blade and nip off the drains. Nope, that was diamond blades and make-shift dust tents, just to enlarge the holes. What I'm yackin' about is that out of the bazillion possible angles you're able to twist the Tiger Saw blade into, there was one available that allowed the saw and the arms of my skinniest guy to be fished down through the titanic's engine room to make the cut through the 2" PVC. Each of the 24 stations required a different combination of angles. My guys fought each other to use the tool. Without this tool, we would have recommended removing the old sheetrock and replacing it with new, which would have meant reinstalling everything inside. The facility is open 5am-midnight, 6 days a week, closed Sunday, our big work day (yee haw...) This is a big-amp saw that MAKES IMPOSSIBLE CUTS AT IMPOSSIBLE ANGLES, so it's gonna shake, ding-dong. If you're going to dock it a star or two for vibration, you just don't get it. Porter-Cable really beat Milwaukee to the punch on this one. Needed mine in a heartbeat and got it at Lowe's for 199.

Power Saws Review Why not save $450 instead and get a Ryobi or Delta
Don't get me wrong - I love Bosch saws, in fact I got the Bosch 3915 compound sliding 10" mitersaw less than a year ago on Amazon for $379 - Which brings me to my point: This is a small light-duty table saw thats fine for small home projects, so why is it priced at $579!!!

I got a Ryobi tablesaw with almost identical specs (13 amp) on sale at Home Depot for $89 last summer (regular price is $99!), and Lowes has a Delta for about the same price. My Ryobi is cast aluminum table with a resin base, just like the Bosch. Sure this Bosch has it's "soft-start" motor, and it appears to have a domewhat better guide -- But is that worth $450 more???

No - I don't own this saw, and have never used it, and I'm sure it good quality, but again this (like my Ryobi) is a utilitarian tabelsaw and nothing more! And just think what other tools you could get with that extra cash!

Power Saws Review bosch table saw
I like the saw just fine. Its a bit heavy but still i can slide it into my van alone its just that the ruber handle needs wheels so you can roll it in rather than push it. If you have the grav-stand with wheels you'll know what i mean. I will have to make some kind of adapter or rest the handle on a plastic tray then lift and push it in. Also If you buy from amazon dont use eagal shiping 4 hours after it was droped off i had 2 mutts trying to break into my garage. The driver saw all my tools and made a phone call to his boys. i called the cops and eagal and my alarm company. free shiping almost emptyed my garage of tools

Power Saws Review Great Saw for pros
I have owned this saw for 3 years and have used it very heavily during this time. When I bought the saw, the gravity rise base wasn't available and the weight of the saw was an issue. I added the gravity rise after it became available and would strongly advise getting this great heavy duty stand with the saw.
Performance of the saw has been outstanding. I have used it for interior and exterior trim work and found the precision outstanding. Sure, it's a bit pricy but if you make your living as a carpenter, this saw is the one you can count on day in and day out.
