Table Saws Review Superb finish on cross-cuts
I've owned this blade for about 2 years, and it's incredible. If you're cutting stock that will have exposed end-grain and you want it to look great, this is the blade to use. It produces a polished (literally) finish on the ends of the board -- meaning there is absolutely no need to sand the end grain. I've found that this finish also means less differential stain uptake between the end-grain and the regular grain. Just a light touch of shellac will solve that problem!

Don't use this blade if you need the end-grain to hold glue for a joint. It's simply too smooth.

I've also used the LU85 for cutting thin plywood. Freud's catalog says it's OK up to 1" thick, but I prefer to use it only for 3/8" or less.

Table Saws Review powerhouse
This is be best tablesaw I ever worked with. Setup was a breeze and only took 25 minutes, there was no need for adjustments .
My first test cut was in 3" Mahogany and it was like cutting soft butter. The machine is also quiet , just the wizzing of the blade , you can hardly hear the motor . Anybody who works with thick hardwood should have a saw like this one.

Table Saws Review The Gold Standard for 10" Table Saw Guards PERIOD!
If you TRULY value safety AND YOU WANT THE ONLY OSHA APPROVED 10" table saw gaurd in this category, then you only have one choice. The Brett Guard 10A M Series. The M50 Series is for cabinet saws, while the M30 is for contractor saws. This is the bigger brother to the other smaller Brett Guard by HTC.

I use this gaurd ALL the time and I'll tell you I would NEVER own a saw without one ever again. WHY?? Read on...

1. The obvious - it's built rock solid from solid steel and 3 inch welded steel tubing. It is a super strong system that will GUARD you from the blade.
2. The blade shroud completely covers the blade with a 1 inch+ thick crystal clear plexiglass box.
3. It has vacuum connection built right into the plexiglass shroud. Your topside hose can be within an inch or so of the blade. You'll see your cut perfectly.
4. It has a SUPER EASY up and down adjustment crank for any thickness of wood.
5. For running raised panels horizontally, you simply turn one knob a quarter of a turn and the whole unit tips on a hinge out of the way.
6. The Plexiglass shroud is mounted on a solid steel angled fixture that will NOT bend even if you literally fell on top of the saw blade.
7. It will stop your hands from going into the blade since the only thing it allows under it is the thickness of your boards.
8. You can still use your splitter (which you should)
9. It has anti-kickback "prawns" embedded into the Plexiglass. They are adjustable as to how much "bite" you want it to have.
10. It is SO NATURAL to use. Once you've cut a board or two you'll instictively reach for the handle on the guard, lower it to the proper (safe) height and push your work in.
11. It does not interfere with featherboards and any other devices. Including the Osborne Miter EB-3 or even the Incra Miter 5000 Complete Crosscut Sled - I KNOW I OWN THEM BOTH!
12. It will take a beating and still work. I actually lowered it TOO low and started the saw up and the saw just stopped!! I thought the motor had stalled, but when I looked I could see my Forrest Woodworker 2 was jammed into the plexiglass and the motor was dead stopped!!! HERE'S THE KICKER - I HAVE A 5 HP SINGLE PHASE 220V POWERMATIC CABINET SAW! This saw is a very powerful saw KNOWN for not bogging down under load, and the Brett Guard just stopped it cold.!

Lastly, the HTC staff is unique and knowledable. They are old school craftsman who actually answer their phones and send stuff out immediately. Enough said.

ONE AWESOME OPTION YOU SHOULD GET - THE EMERGENCY SHUT OFF AND KEY SYSTEM. This allows you to turn the saw off by pushing a red button that is mounted into the guard control unit above the shroud. After I finish a cut, I simply push the red button that's around 6 inches above the guard itself. It's the most natural place for an on/off switch that I'm amazed no one else has thought of this! It also has a key with it so you can turn it off and cut off electricity to the unit so no one can turn it on without the key.

Hope that helps - this one is a Class A system.

Table Saws Review Protect your investment
Tarps kept in moisture and caused rust on my machinery. Plastic sheets fell off every time I turned on the air cleaner. So I tried one of these Tool Saver covers and quickly bought more for all my shop tools. They are substantial enough to stay put (with magnets in the corners that secure it to your tools), non-marring, and flexible enough to fold up neatly into an out of the way bundle. This, my friends, is cheap protection.

Table Saws Review High quality fence, I bought it as an upgrade
I was unsatisfied with the fence on my Grizzly 17" bandsaw. It had a handle in the wrong place (to release the fence would bring the handle up to where the wood was usually positioned, because the handle was 2 inches to the right of the fence, go figure, meaning that to adjust the fence I would have to remove the wood from the table). This fence is a great design. The release handle is in line with the fence itself, as it should be, so you never have to remove the workpiece from the table to adjust the fence. The fence lock is very very secure. Moving the fence is smooth. Movement of the fence during locking is not too much. All in all, great. The resaw attachment that comes with the fence is really nice. It is basically a point fence about 6 inches high. It is very stable and when I bolted it onto my Grizzly bandsaw it was perfectly at 90 degrees. Highly recommended. In order to fit it to my saw I had to drill one hole at the back edge of the fence to bolt the rear guide on... apparently the grizzly table is about 3/4" deeper than the Jet table. AMAZING upgrade, this is 20 times better than the original fence on my saw.

Table Saws Review Great Table Saw!
I have owned this table saw for over 3 years now. It can cut 2 inch oak without problems. The fence is great! It takes seconds to set and minutes to realign if you need too. The tables are solid and level. The only problem I had was setting it up I had to drill holes to get everything right. It took over a day to get right. But once it was setup it works like a champ. I added a good Frued blade to make it cut perfect edge. I would recommend it to anyone.

Table Saws Review Top of the Line
I've done a lot of comparison shopping and I'm glad to report my decision to purchase the JET was one of the best decsions I ever made. The saw shipped in 5 packages within a week; all well packed and protected. It took 2 evenings to assemble and align. I recommend you have a second helper to install the wings and table extension. Also note that all the hardware bolts & nuts are metric. The Xacta Fence II is smooth and very accurate; absolutely no play and didn't need any adjustments. I use a Jointech sled with my saw with superb/accurate results. If you plan on moving your saw at all, invest in a mobile base. I'm planning on purchasing a mobile base now, wish I had when I was assebling the unit. Overall, very satisfied with the quality and accuracy of the saw. It will get a lot of use.

Table Saws Review Almost everything you could want
I've had my 10" XACTA Right Tilt saw for almost a year now. It has the 30" fence due to limited shop space, however other than the fence it is the same saw. The set-up took about two hours, the hard part being getting the table extensions and table insert flat and true. Mounting the fence rails didn't present a challange, and getting the fence itself square turned out to be easy as well. The instructions were clear and I had already downloaded a copy from the Jet web site to study in anticipation of delivery. Moving to the Jet from a Sears Craftsman is like night and day. The old saw had a hard time with 2" softwood, the Jet zips through all the hardwoods I have fed it and only once have I had anything slow it down. That was the one time I tried to rip a 4x4 a little too fast. I looked at the Unisaw prior to buying the Jet, and concluded that having to buy a dust chute as an extra didn't really make sense. I felt that the Delta also didn't attach the aux. table as well as Jet. Is it perfect? No. I have had to calk the sloping floor of the cabinet to help contain sawdust and keep it off the floor, and it was difficult to find a stud to attach the bonding wire for the dust collector. The finish on the Aux. table was rough and gave me a really bad splinter, but all that is minor. The saw and fence have held allignment as close as I am able to measure for a year now, and that includes a couple of kickbacks that would have brought out the tools on the old saw. I have replaced the spreader with the Byssemeyer in the hope that the increased convinence of the Bysse will lead me to use it more than the origional and stop those dangerous kickbacks. For the money, and a saw of this price and quality should be a lifetime investment, I feel this is the best value around.
