Power Tools Review Champion RotoBrute hole saws
We have a set of these Champion Rotobrute hole saws at work and they are the best hole saws I have ever seen. For years we used the blue mol hole saws but when your drilling through stainless steel they dont last long and it takes awhile to drill the hole. With the "Rotobrute" its like a hot knife through butter and they last far longer than the blue mols. Although they cost more they are well worth the price. I would like to get a set for my personel use when they become available. If you have to drill a lot of large holes in metal these are well worth the investment.

Power Tools Review Works with Porter Cable Job Boss Compressor
While looking at impact wrenches, several people told me that they would work with a small compressor and several told me that they would not.
I purchased the Chicago Pneumatic CP7733-2 impact wrench and it worked fine with my Porter Cable Job Boss Mod. C3551 Air Compressor which has a 4.5 gallon tank and is rated 4.4SCFM @ 90PSI (max pressure 150psi). I set the compressor at 90psi (recommended for the impact wrench) and was able to remove all the wheels from my truck. I did have a problem with one lug after removing the other 5 from that wheel, but found that the wheel was in a bind. Once I jacked the tire up completely off the ground, the lug came off with ease. I then changed wheels on my dad's vehicle and it worked very nicely. It seemed to have plenty of power.
A CP Rep that I spoke with said this was a good entry level impact wrench. At one of the local tire shops I was at recently, it looked like they were using the same model impact wrench. I use mine for home use however.
During testing that I did with the impact wrench and my compressor, I found that when tank pressure was full at 150PSI, the impact wrench would hammer for approx. 20 seconds or so before the air pressure would drop enough that the compressor would need to pump up. In general, I found it necessary to let the compressor pump back up after every 4 or 5 lugs that I removed. A big compressor would be nice, but for home use you just have to stop and let a smaller compressor pump up once in a while.
One concern I have is making the lugs too tight. I had the impact wrench set on #4. After each lug was on, I hit each one again real quick. I then checked the lugs with a hand wrench and was unable to tighten them any more. I may purchase a torque wrench to go with this so I don't over tighten particularly on alloy wheels. I don't think this particular wrench is powerful enough to twist a lug bolt off, but I wouldn't recommend letting the impact wrench hammer away when tightening them.

Power Tools Review No other hose compares....
This hose is a MUST for anyone who uses air tools on a regular basis. It is super-light and flexible, making it much easier to carry around attached to your nailer. Try using a standard rubber hose hooked to your nailer while nailing above your head all day. It is so easy to drag around and use while on a ladder or pick. Cold weather doesn't affect these hoses, they stay flexible. If you get a hole in the hose, just cut off the bad section and use a repair coupler or re-use the removeable end fitting, it is very easy to do and it's leakproof. If you're still using the old-fashioned rubber air hoses, try a Flex-Eel, you'll love it!

Power Tools Review My First Cordless Drill
I have no idea how this unit will actually perform under real working conditions, since I just got it last night. The truth is, I won it in a raffle!

But I have over 30 years' experience working with all sorts of power tools, so I can say this drill looks like it will deliver. It appears to be very well made. Offhand, it looks indestructible, unless you dropped it 15 feet onto a concrete slab.

The controls are simple and very positive, i.e., you get a big "click" each time you move the switches for forward or reverse or high-speed, low-speed operation. You can probably run this tool wearing gloves with no problems.

A couple cool features: 1) The Jacobs Keyless Chuck is handy. I assume it will hold a bit just fine with only hand tightening; 2) There is a torque control feature that is set by simply rotating a barrel-like dial on the front of the unit. I have never used such a thing, but it seems like a good idea if you have ever countersunk a screw unintentionally or snapped the head off one. The torque control combined with the variable speed trigger should give you plenty of fine adjustment; 3) The unit has a built-in clutch mechanism when the maximum preset torque is reached. This clutch mechanism seems directly connected to the barrel dial for setting the torque. When you hit the maximum preset torque, the clutch slips, and the unit just chatters.

The sad thing is that I just finished siding my house last summer. I have no idea how many pilot holes I drilled and how many screws I drove. This cordless unit would have come in handy when working on a ladder.

[Note: If any of this review sounds dumb, remember I said this is my first cordless drill. I gave this drill five stars merely based on a visual inspection and a few holes I drilled into some pine. But it was a pine log for firewood, and the drill did rotate the entire log when the bit bottomed out!]

    Power Tools Review Great reach
The 14 foot reach is a great asset when it is needed. However, at full length it does increase the effective weight significantly when leverage is factored in. Should be easily handled by those with average strength; but it is a bit more work for this old man reviewer. The telescoping pole reduces this concern when the extra length is not needed.

Power Tools Review A Super Super saw
This puppy ain't cheap but it is worth the price. Laying ceramic tile by making many cuts and nibbling away till a tile fits properly around a door casing is a pain and very time consuming. 5 minutes of time with this saw (1 minute to get it out of the truck, 3 to get it out of the case and set up, 1/2 minute (i'm old) to get down on my knees and another 1/2 minute to make the cut) slide the tile under the jamb and casing for the perfect no grouting fit. WOW !!!
If the door binds on the tile, or anyother type floor, adjust the undercut saw accordingly and trim the door while in place! Your Done!!!
