Dewalt is good but
Great gun!I recently purchased the DeWalt DC520 18v drywall gun (which can be very pricey), because I hate dragging around a cord. But for the overhead work I still grab the DW272! This is a fabulous screw gun for the money! If you are in the market for a corded drywall gun, get it, you won't be sorry.
DW272 gun

"For a great saw at a great price, look no further"
great saw -- highly reccomended
woodhackeri actually went down to the Bellingham WA showroom to see the product. Very nice quality. This company has excellent customer service.
Assembling the saw and fence took about 5 hours. My son helped. It is a heavy sucker weighing in at about 280 pounds. You could probably put it together faster. On a scale of 1 to 10 being mechnically inclined i am about a 4 (10 being high). The manual while not perfect was pretty good. Anyhow, the point is if i can put the thing together anyone can! As with any saw of this size some assembly is required.
The fence was spot on out of the box. No adjustment necessary. The only problem encountered was one of the 6 undercarriage screws would not align. But fence is rock solid without it. It is a Shop Fox, "Biesemeyer clone". Very nice quality.
Alignment of the stamped steel wings was one of the trickiest aspects of the assembly. The manuals suggestion of using a piece of masking tape as a shim worked perfect. It would have been nice to have had cast wings, but i can live with these wings. The G0444Z has cast wings, though i do not know if these can be used on the G0444 model.
Alignment of the blade to the table was dead nuts on using my 4" precision square. The miter gauge was aligned to the blade.
i did not skimp on the blade opting for a Forrest Woodworker II. i am glad i made this choice. Works like a champ for crosscutting and ripping stock under 2". Get a good blade. Buying nice tools and crummy cutters is like getting a ferrari and stocking it with a Pinto engine.
If you have the opportunity to visit one of the companies showrooms do it. You can see firsthand that these folks make nice stuff.
I would buy Grizzly again, and their 560 page catalog can keep an avid woodworker amused for a long time.

hitachi planerThe exhaust tends to get plugged in both the planer and the jointer with wood chips.
Carbide BladesDespite reports to the contrary and the failure of these blades to appear in the documentation as parts or accessories, Hitachi does offer carbide blades for P12RA planer and the jointer. The Hitachi part numbers are: planer - 200001 and jointer - 401000. I just ordered both sets from an authorized Hitachi parts supplier, be ready for sticker shock, the MFG list price for the blades are $448.71 for the planer and $224.35 for the jointer as of April 7, 2006. The vendor I purchased from discounted my price to 80% of the list price.

WONDERFUL MACHINEThe quality of cut is outstanding, and boards come out dead accurate. In fact, I go to this planer over my 2 year old Jet 15" stationary planer almost every time. The Jet is a workhorse so that should tell ya something! Setup is simple. The knives are really beefy and all the other parts (castings, chains, bearings, adjusting screws) are heavy and well made. I get "slick-as-glass" results even on ebony. Since most of the components are aluminum alloy or stainless steel, I don't even have to fight rust.
Though the jointer is powerful and gives a fantastic finish to the wood, it's just too simplistic. There isn't a way to align the infeed and outfeed tables, which makes getting a flat board almost impossible. They are fixed except to adjust the depth of cut. In fact, holding a straight edge to the length of the jointer bed reveals both tables angle away from the cutterhead. Since I make guitars, this sort of thing drives me bananas. I actually sent the jointer portion back to the dealer for a partial refund.
My advice is to buy the planer portion only. Spent the money for the dust hood too. It's well put together and very effective. This planer has been featured in several books and magazine articles over the years, and for a good reason. You will be amazed with the results!

You CAN'T Do Better!
BROKE MY WRIST!
Drill RocksI have had this drill for 3 years and I don't use it much.
I use my cordless drills including my powerful Dewalt 988.
Today I used a 3 in holesaw to drill thru a 2 by 4,once I used the Dewalt,It struggled but drilled the hole. Then I used the
Milwalkee 302,it drilled It with ease and didn't even slow down.
I was very impressed.I will use the Milwaukee for the really heavy drilling from now on.I will use the cordless drills for
light to fairly heavy use (about 95% of the time). Why put unneeded strain on a good cordless drill?
If you are looking to buy a strong corded drill, look at Milwaukee first.

Everything expected from a Milwaukee Tool
Great Product
Above & BeyondEverything about this drill screams performance and ease of use: the ballance is perfect plus the battery can be turned around; the one handed chuck is amazing - no more slipping bits when drilling through steel; the charger is very fast; the clutch, speed and reverse switches are very positive; the low speed (0-400 rpm) is ideal for driving screws, yet the high speed (0-2,000 rpm) setting really screams; the belt clip is very unique and the case even has a locking compartment for keeping bits secure; the case has real steel clasps and the handle is made up of both case halves so you can't dump the contents if you pick it up and it's not locked. I also love that the grade of plastic on the drill is super durable and doesn't show scuffs. The little rubber inserts keep it from sliding on inclined surfaces.
I've recently been working on boats in addition to the usuall house stuff and have had to drive many #14 x 2" wood screws into kiln dried white oak. The wood so tough that I had to over ride the clutch by switching to "drill" yet there is no shortage of torque to do the job - you just have to be careful that it doesn't snap your wrist off. ;-)
Milwaukee has truly created a monster.

Bargain price blower: good for decks/patios; so-so for lawnsOn the minus side you'll be limited to extension cord reach, and there's no extensibility for vacuuming or mulching. The biggest concern is that the low speed means this is not good for heavy jobs, such as the twice-a-season removal of all the accumulated thatch that I just performed, slowly, on my small lawn.
There are some small functional limitations worth pointing out. My unit came with significant plastic flashing on the underside of the handle, and very sharp molded ridges there. Consequently I can't comfortably hold the blower for more than a few minutes without gloves. Of course with gloves on it's easy to inadvertently catch the on-off switch at the rear of the handle area. Finally, Toro recommends you not wear loose clothes while using this unit, but since I don't have any gardening pants that aren't baggy I keep getting my trouser leg sucked into the air inlet. Here I'm happy for the sharp, narrow ridges molded into the plastic; they prevent my clothing from getting damaged.
The bottom line: This is a bargain price blower that's good for cleaning decks/patios/driveways, but only so-so for lawns.
how long?
GREAT TOOL, VERY HANDYThe switch is really easy to use, and turn on (no difficult safey). AND extention simply plugs in, and has cord lock to keep from unplugging.
GREAT PRODUCT!!!
