Power Tools Review Dewalt is good but
Dewalt is good but why does Amazon have to bait us and mislead by its claim of a higher retail price of 189.00. It sells everywhere at no more than 99.00

Power Tools Review Great gun!
Several years ago I retired my corded Makita drywall gun which I had used for years and bought the DeWalt DW272. Since then I have hung my share of drywall and this gun is fast and reliable! The 'dial-up' depth setting is simplicity itself and never faulters. The gun is light; powerful; well balanced; and rugged. For the average homeowner's drywall needs, this gun is all that he/she needs.

I recently purchased the DeWalt DC520 18v drywall gun (which can be very pricey), because I hate dragging around a cord. But for the overhead work I still grab the DW272! This is a fabulous screw gun for the money! If you are in the market for a corded drywall gun, get it, you won't be sorry.

Power Tools Review DW272 gun
Gotta agree with others who find this one of the best, easiest to use guns out there. I gave up on my Porter Cable gun after 2 switches gave out ($45 ea). This gun is comfortable and lightweight. 5 stars!

Power Tools Review "For a great saw at a great price, look no further"
This saw only took 3 days to be delivered, box was nicely packed with no rips or holes. It is heavy, be easy on yourself and have the delivery person unload it(company unloading the saw is not guaranteed) mine did. and put it on a furniture dolly immediately, this is a big help to manuever the saw around til you put this sweet saw together. After putting it together approx.3-4 hours if you are taking your time, once you get the motor lined up get the fence installed use a sharp new carbide blade......This saw is so impressive, solid, smooth, this is the best deal on the planet for a table saw, my woodshop teacher helped assemble it and he was drooling over this piece of cast iron art. Everyone, you will not be disappointed, this saw compares to saws that cost 1500.00 and I researched the heck out of all table saws, for months.A big thank you to Sears for being out of stock of the saw I almost purchased. will buy all of my power tools only with "Grizzly" stamped on them. Grizzly rocks!!

Power Tools Review great saw -- highly reccomended
I bought this saw from Amazon last week. I've only used it a few hours, but it is great! I'm very happy with it. I read a lot of reviews and settled on it, so I figure I had better put in my comments after I finally got one.

Power Tools Review woodhacker
Grizzly makes quality tools at very good prices. i was looking to upgrade from my delta benchtop to a lower end contractor saw. After much research i found that the Grizzly G0444 was the best choice for the $. i searched the net high and low trying to find complaints or criticism on this saw, but i could find nothing but positive stuff.

i actually went down to the Bellingham WA showroom to see the product. Very nice quality. This company has excellent customer service.

Assembling the saw and fence took about 5 hours. My son helped. It is a heavy sucker weighing in at about 280 pounds. You could probably put it together faster. On a scale of 1 to 10 being mechnically inclined i am about a 4 (10 being high). The manual while not perfect was pretty good. Anyhow, the point is if i can put the thing together anyone can! As with any saw of this size some assembly is required.

The fence was spot on out of the box. No adjustment necessary. The only problem encountered was one of the 6 undercarriage screws would not align. But fence is rock solid without it. It is a Shop Fox, "Biesemeyer clone". Very nice quality.

Alignment of the stamped steel wings was one of the trickiest aspects of the assembly. The manuals suggestion of using a piece of masking tape as a shim worked perfect. It would have been nice to have had cast wings, but i can live with these wings. The G0444Z has cast wings, though i do not know if these can be used on the G0444 model.

Alignment of the blade to the table was dead nuts on using my 4" precision square. The miter gauge was aligned to the blade.

i did not skimp on the blade opting for a Forrest Woodworker II. i am glad i made this choice. Works like a champ for crosscutting and ripping stock under 2". Get a good blade. Buying nice tools and crummy cutters is like getting a ferrari and stocking it with a Pinto engine.

If you have the opportunity to visit one of the companies showrooms do it. You can see firsthand that these folks make nice stuff.

I would buy Grizzly again, and their 560 page catalog can keep an avid woodworker amused for a long time.

Power Tools Review It sinks alright but the the tip marks soft wood. This is a big problem!
This nailer marks soft wood on the recoil and if you push too hard it will mark just setting the nailer on the wood. I don't get why this was not brought up here before. I sets nails well alright but the extra mark in the wood is not worth it. I still have my Senco with a plastic non mar tip, not anywhere near the power but does not mark the wood as this Hitachi. 3 out of 5 from me for this huge problem and for the fact the tip design does not allow for pinpointing the exact path the nail will take.

Power Tools Review Super Brad GUN
I got mine about 6 months ago and I love it .It does not misfire or double fire .It set the nail every time in all types of woods. Truly the best brad gun for the money mabe the best on the market.

Power Tools Review well worth the money
i've been using this brad gun for a little over 2 months now and I really like it, I use it mostly to install shoe molding and other light trim work. The Hitachi has performed flawlessly , always countersinking the brads. Just to see how strong it shot , I took two scrap pieces of 5/4 oak stacked on top of each other and shot a 2" brad into the two pieces , and the nail head was countersunk nicely, needless to say I was surprised. P.S., this gun replaced a senco 1 1/4" brad gun that wasn't countersinking for me properly (yes i am a senco fan, I love my 41xp), the hitachi is well worth the price, no doubt.

Power Tools Review hitachi planer
The jointer bed is too small for this to be the perfect machine. The planer is excellent, but the total length of the infeed and outfeed bed is very short and makes it difficult to accurately joint long pieces of wood. The first thing that I did after buying this was to buy a 71" powermatic jointer. It is not the most economical way to go.

The exhaust tends to get plugged in both the planer and the jointer with wood chips.

Power Tools Review Carbide Blades
The blades for the P12RA are what in trade referred to as "specialized" blades because they have custom slots and holes. Consequently, you are tied into the manufacturer for blades.

Despite reports to the contrary and the failure of these blades to appear in the documentation as parts or accessories, Hitachi does offer carbide blades for P12RA planer and the jointer. The Hitachi part numbers are: planer - 200001 and jointer - 401000. I just ordered both sets from an authorized Hitachi parts supplier, be ready for sticker shock, the MFG list price for the blades are $448.71 for the planer and $224.35 for the jointer as of April 7, 2006. The vendor I purchased from discounted my price to 80% of the list price.

The toll free number to Hitachi Power Tools Customer Service is 800-706-7337.

Power Tools Review WONDERFUL MACHINE
I've had my Hitachi P12RA planer for 8 years and couldn't be happier. Originally, I wanted to buy their F1000A cast iron planer/jointer but discovered Hitachi no longer exports it to the USA. Since the F1000A is SOOOOOOOOOOOO remarkable, I took the chance on this "little brother" and was very pleased- with the planer.

The quality of cut is outstanding, and boards come out dead accurate. In fact, I go to this planer over my 2 year old Jet 15" stationary planer almost every time. The Jet is a workhorse so that should tell ya something! Setup is simple. The knives are really beefy and all the other parts (castings, chains, bearings, adjusting screws) are heavy and well made. I get "slick-as-glass" results even on ebony. Since most of the components are aluminum alloy or stainless steel, I don't even have to fight rust.

Though the jointer is powerful and gives a fantastic finish to the wood, it's just too simplistic. There isn't a way to align the infeed and outfeed tables, which makes getting a flat board almost impossible. They are fixed except to adjust the depth of cut. In fact, holding a straight edge to the length of the jointer bed reveals both tables angle away from the cutterhead. Since I make guitars, this sort of thing drives me bananas. I actually sent the jointer portion back to the dealer for a partial refund.

My advice is to buy the planer portion only. Spent the money for the dust hood too. It's well put together and very effective. This planer has been featured in several books and magazine articles over the years, and for a good reason. You will be amazed with the results!

Power Tools Review You CAN'T Do Better!
If you can deal with a cord, you can't do better than this drill. It's very impressive. Amazon is selling them a little high, so check around. I got mine on ebay for $80 brand new.

Power Tools Review BROKE MY WRIST!
POWER is the word! I was on a ladder drilling with a 4" hole saw overhead. You can see where this is leading. Use to wimpy 18 volt guns I was 1 handing it when hole saw hooked up and stopped! My new magnum however kept on turning. I hung on for 1 turn and got clobbered on the following 2! I love my drill! It broke my wrist and I still say it's the best! It's the Top-Fueler's of screw guns.

Power Tools Review Drill Rocks
The 302's long fault is that it needs a cord.
I have had this drill for 3 years and I don't use it much.
I use my cordless drills including my powerful Dewalt 988.
Today I used a 3 in holesaw to drill thru a 2 by 4,once I used the Dewalt,It struggled but drilled the hole. Then I used the
Milwalkee 302,it drilled It with ease and didn't even slow down.
I was very impressed.I will use the Milwaukee for the really heavy drilling from now on.I will use the cordless drills for
light to fairly heavy use (about 95% of the time). Why put unneeded strain on a good cordless drill?
If you are looking to buy a strong corded drill, look at Milwaukee first.

Power Tools Review Everything expected from a Milwaukee Tool
This drill is wonderful for a 14.4V. Well designed and functions as well as every Milwaukee tool I own. Five year warranty is very nice as well. All my tools are Milwaukee and I'll continue to keep it that way.

Power Tools Review Great Product
Item was delayed in coming, but it was perfect when it arrived. In the little time I have had it, it works wonderfully. Great drill if you want a really good one.

Power Tools Review Above & Beyond
I can't say enough good things about this drill - it really is above and beyond everything I've expereinced (Mikita, Bosch, Dewalt, PC, etc.) and is a significant improvement on their previous design. I was sold on a Bosch (also my previous drill) and was tempted by the Mikita, then I saw the Miwaukee and was saved. You will not regret this purchase for a second.

Everything about this drill screams performance and ease of use: the ballance is perfect plus the battery can be turned around; the one handed chuck is amazing - no more slipping bits when drilling through steel; the charger is very fast; the clutch, speed and reverse switches are very positive; the low speed (0-400 rpm) is ideal for driving screws, yet the high speed (0-2,000 rpm) setting really screams; the belt clip is very unique and the case even has a locking compartment for keeping bits secure; the case has real steel clasps and the handle is made up of both case halves so you can't dump the contents if you pick it up and it's not locked. I also love that the grade of plastic on the drill is super durable and doesn't show scuffs. The little rubber inserts keep it from sliding on inclined surfaces.

I've recently been working on boats in addition to the usuall house stuff and have had to drive many #14 x 2" wood screws into kiln dried white oak. The wood so tough that I had to over ride the clutch by switching to "drill" yet there is no shortage of torque to do the job - you just have to be careful that it doesn't snap your wrist off. ;-)

Milwaukee has truly created a monster.

Power Tools Review Great!!
I love this thing! I was amazed at how powerful it is. This drill will drill through just about everything. I have tried many drills from other brands and they just don't compare.

Power Tools Review How do you Improve on it?
This is the best drill I've ever owned, bar none! DeWalt, Makita, you name it I've owned it...even the Tim Allen Drill/driver. Nothing I've used matches the torque or the clutch. It is comfortable, and will drill through anything I have touched it to. I was so impressed I bought two! Bosch has made me Blue to the Bone.

Power Tools Review CORDED DRILL WITHOUT THE CORD
The title says it all. When you bring out this drill, You're bringing out the "BIG GUNS!" I kid you not, This is the only cordless drill that I've ever used that has the power of a corded drill. I use it for driving screws, and a corded drill to drill the pilot holes. This way, I dont have to keep changing bits. They say it weighs 15 lbs., but you can't tell it. It feels more like 8. It is really well balanced. The batteries last for ever, and then it only takes an hour to charge them back up. I built three tables before I had to change batteries. If I were Porter-Cable, Dewalt, Milwaulkee or any of the rest, I'd be ashamed. When it comes to cordless drill drivers, this one stands alone and a way out in front. Thanks Bosch, you did it again!

Power Tools Review go carbide next time
these knives are ok. they don't last too long as they are only steel, not carbide. next time i would spend the xtra and get carbide ones. these knives go dull in just soft wood, as is expected from a steel knife. these delta knives are good for what they are.
go carbide.

Power Tools Review Versatile auxiliary vacuum
Great little versatile vacuum. Powerful enough to pick-up most stuff from your floors. Comes with many attachments. I use it on my hardwood floors, ceramic tiles as well as the couches.I can do a surface vacumming of your carpets but you still need something more powerful to deep clean it.
Its small weight and size makes it good also for the car.

Power Tools Review redesign success story
I was distraught when my little 1-gallon shop-vac died recently. My roommate and I had used it for about 10 years as our primary vacumm--lightweight, easy to carry around the house, and it sucked up all the dirt and dog hair my pooch could bring in. The one-gallon vac is no longer available, so I bought this one. This vac is much improved over the old one--quieter, slightly larger capacity, has wheels and a longer hose, and we can now use the disposable bags or still just use the "bucket". All in all, they've taken a great product and made it even better. If it lasts as long as the old one, I'll be even happier!

Power Tools Review Strong and Lightweight
Easy to use. Really picks up the dirt. Haven't used it for water yet. Attachments work great.

Power Tools Review Bargain price blower: good for decks/patios; so-so for lawns
The Toro 51586 Power Sweep electric blower is a low-cost item. It's a decent machine for cleaning off your patio or deck. Your neighbors will appreciate that it's quieter than most electric blowers, and all gas blowers. Without a gas engine and tank it's lighter, too. And the Power Sweep blower has good balance in your hand.

On the minus side you'll be limited to extension cord reach, and there's no extensibility for vacuuming or mulching. The biggest concern is that the low speed means this is not good for heavy jobs, such as the twice-a-season removal of all the accumulated thatch that I just performed, slowly, on my small lawn.

There are some small functional limitations worth pointing out. My unit came with significant plastic flashing on the underside of the handle, and very sharp molded ridges there. Consequently I can't comfortably hold the blower for more than a few minutes without gloves. Of course with gloves on it's easy to inadvertently catch the on-off switch at the rear of the handle area. Finally, Toro recommends you not wear loose clothes while using this unit, but since I don't have any gardening pants that aren't baggy I keep getting my trouser leg sucked into the air inlet. Here I'm happy for the sharp, narrow ridges molded into the plastic; they prevent my clothing from getting damaged.

The bottom line: This is a bargain price blower that's good for cleaning decks/patios/driveways, but only so-so for lawns.

Power Tools Review how long?
The blower is ok, but it took almost two weeks to get here from the order date. Too slow!

Power Tools Review GREAT TOOL, VERY HANDY
This was the best purchase in a long while. Out of the box, 2 snaps for the nozzle, and it was working. I've had the huge bulky ones, but THIS ONE IS JUST AS GOOD. if not better.

The switch is really easy to use, and turn on (no difficult safey). AND extention simply plugs in, and has cord lock to keep from unplugging.

GREAT PRODUCT!!!
