Power Tools Review wh12dm2 confusion
hitachi apparently has two versions of this tool according to the model number wh12dm2. One has two gray colored grips on the handle. When reading specs on the gray handleled one it has 1500 pounds of torque. This model with the same model number has a black grip and has around 1100. I can't figure out why the confusion but regardless either of these tools once you use them will convince you that this is the way to go and forget the 18 volt behemouth you've been lugging around. Why break your wrist when you don't have to. I still want to try to drive a 3 inch screw through a 4x4, I think either one will do it if you had a long enough bit.
Here is the link to check out specs on the real wh12dm2. Now obviously the link is not amazon but after calling hitachi's 800 number and speaking with them, wh12dm2, is in fact the gray handled model number and they do still make it.

[...]

go to the above link and you will see the gray handled model. Try to buy it and it will forward you to the black handled dmr model on amazon. That is the only reason this didn't get five stars. I don't want the black handled one I want the gray handled one with 1500 pounds of torque and a 1/4 inch hex drive thats rated for heavy industrial work. Can somebody help me out here? The only one I find similar on amazon is a 1/2 inch square drive and thats not what I want.

Power Tools Review This thing rocks!
I use a lot of tools on a daily basis and I would have to say this baby is my favorite! I've had this for about a year and a half with no problems whatsoever. Prior to this I was using various non-impact drivers and it was like night and day when I bought this thing! You'll learn to love the "rat-a-tat-tat" sound it makes when it effortlessly powers screws into whatever material...this baby has lots of torque for only 12volts. If you've never owned an impact driver (and you have a need) then you'll be real happy with this one. One of the beauties of the impact is that you never strip screw heads which in itself makes it worthwhile to own! If I were in the market for another impact driver I would probably look into the new lithium ion versions just because they offer even more power and battery life. That said, I have always been happy with this hitachi's battery life. You'll never have a problem anyway because you get two batteries and a quick charger and a great carrying case I might add. Both my batteries still seem to have long lives and they've gotten quite a bit of use!

Power Tools Review GREAT DEAL FOR MONEY
My dad got my drill in the mail before I could get it from him. he didn't want to give it back. Used with many project in building our home and on the farm. Battery pack lasts forever compared to other drivers. Thing is noisy as heck when the impact driver kicks in, but the power is amazing! Would recommend to anyone!

Power Tools Review MILWAWKEE HOLE-HAWG
I'M AN ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR AND USE THE HOLE HAWG ALMOST EVERY DAY...THE ONLY OTHER ONE I'VE USED ALOT IS THE MAKITA AND THO IT'S A GOOD TOOL, THE MILWAKEE JUST SEEMS TO BE TOUGHER. I DEFINATELY RECOMEND IT TO ANYONE THAT HAS TO DO SOME SERIOUS HOLE DRILLING, ESPECIALLY BIG HOLES...BUT PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOUR DOING, IT'LL HURT YOU IF YOUR CARELESS.....

Power Tools Review The strongest drill you'll ever need
This drill puts others to shame. Drilling through the toughest material, this one has enough torque to get the job done, and still more to spare. The limit to what you can get done with this tool is determined not by the torque that the drill puts out, but by your own strength--when the bit binds on you, the drill will literally wrench itself out of your hands. The warning that the Amazon review gives is apt; new users should be careful with this behemoth because it has more power than you might think. Screw on the secondary, perpendicular handle to keep a hold on this monster as it bores through wood, concrete, asphalt, metal--the tool can handle it all. But can you handle the tool?

Power Tools Review Survived a flood
In addition to being an outstanding tool for electrical and plumbing, mine survied 3" of water. I let it dry out, cleaned up the outside and it runs like new still. The self-feed bits pull it through the heaviest 2" solid, dry, and well aged oak -- without burning the wood. And its not just for pros. Anyone who has to do electrical, plumbing, or has to drill through studs or heavy wood, will benefit from this tool.

Power Tools Review Not disappointed
Just like any thing "Milwaukee" it is top quality, and I wasn't disappointed,it is very compact, and is everything that was advertised.

Power Tools Review Get, you'll need it sooner or later
Purchased it with Milwaukee's cordless screwdriver just in case. Well, I needed it for a task within a week after receiving it. I would not have been able to do the task with the cordless otherwise. Get it. You'll be glad you did.

Power Tools Review Buy it now, because you'll need it later
If you have an electric screwdriver, you gotta have one of these. Compact, rugged, smooth. Has a indexed handle that can mount in a variety of positions to offset the torque. Sooner or later you're going to have a use for this on a Sunday night, when all the stores are closed, so get one now, you wont regret it! Identical as one produced by AEG, now owned by Milwalkee.

Power Tools Review One of the BEST
I have several routers (Proter Cable, Hatachi, Bosch, DeWalt and Ryobi) ranging in Hp from 1 1/2 - 3 1/4. Each of these routers have outstanding features, but the one I would rate over all is the Milwaukee D and the Body comfort models.

When it comes to control these two routers give the feeling of complete control over what you are doing. The startup is smooth and the power is above average.

I would recommend both of these routers highly.

Well done Milwaukee...

Power Tools Review great toy
best router I have ever used! Porter cable, look out!

Power Tools Review Well thought out design
I had been looking for a "D" handle router and was in the process of deciding on the Bosch or the Makita when I came across Milwaukee's router. Both of the previous two have good reputations, and I'm sure I would have been happy with either, but what caught my eye was the features on the Milwaukee... and it didn't hurt that it was several dollars cheaper. My primary reason for wanting the "D" handle is that I prefer having that motor switch right at my fingertips.

One feature I like, is that the base is tightened down to the motor, or loosened, with a metal lever that snaps open and closed. This is easier than twisting a knob, and once closed, you have a positive lock. (yes, I have failed to tighten a knob securely enough on another router and had the base come loose while operating it). Removal of the base is done by pressing a button and sliding the motor out of the base. "Coarse" adjustments are made the same way. A knob is provided on the top side for making fine adjustments. Though the adhustment is not a fine as on my plunge router, I find it to work very well. The collets require 2 wrenches to install bits, and the wrenches provided are the forged type rather than stamped metal, a definite plus.

All in all this router is a pleasure to use, and my past experience with Milwaukee service has been very good.

Power Tools Review Excellent!!!
This is my second router and replaced my ... Ryobi "Router". Once again I learned the value of purchasing a quality tool, and the pleasure of violently discarding the source of far too much frustration and wasted wood.

I have cut Maple, Poplar and Pine with it so far, and it has yet to break a sweat. I cannot imagine needing another router for what I do (no shaping..). The precision of the depth adjustment is very good and reassuring. The collet system is solid - yes needing two wrenches is a bit awkward, but worth it. Not that big of a problem really, and the overall quality far outshadows this minor nit pick.

If you don't need a plunge router, buy this.

Power Tools Review Holy Routers, Batman!
I bought mine about a year-and-a-half ago, and have routed over FOUR MILES of wood with it on a simple home-made router table. It's been through almost every wood immaginable, and a cup of coffee or two, and yet it still works great. The only cons about it: Your neighbors will not be happy with this choice. Like most routers; it's loud. The only other con would be the hand tool bit tightening system. I guess it's not too bad, though. This was the first router I purchased. Very satisfied.

Power Tools Review NO FRILLS PERFECTION
If I were recommending a router to someone just getting into wood working, it would without question, be this tool.People just cant say enough about this machine and what a fine tool it is.For the money, this is best darn router on earth. Just read the reviews and ask around, and this guy will sell itself. Now get out there and make some dust.

Power Tools Review THIS IS A HAMMER DRILL - PERIOD
I land survey - bought for drilling 5/8" holes into asphalt/concrete pavements to set 1/2" rebar for property corners-land monuments -- I used a 16" Milwaukee Magnum44 bit - This unit will walk right through the pavement - drilled 2-5/8" holes 14" in depth - and today drill a 1/2" hole through a 6"X12" depth concrete compressive strength test cylinder 4000 PSI - after drilling these three holes the battery level is still shows three lights. These is a very impressive tool - better than a 1/2 gas powered hammer drill. I would recommend the Bosch 11225VSRH to any one - and the name is correct - ANNIHILATOR.

Power Tools Review awsome hammer
great tool love the power indicators on the batteries handles everthing i throw its way day in day out just wish it had a chipping only mode gotta plug in my bulldog model to get that type of work done

Power Tools Review Finally somewhat got it right!
I am a concrete contractor who since the cordless era has tried nearly all drills, hammer drills or any drill claiming to have the ability to drill 4-6 inch deep holes in concrete with close to the power of a 1 inch rotary hammer. Finally Bosch has done the job. The 11225 will drill 60-70 1/4 inch holes 4-6 inches deep in cured 4000 psi concrete. As most concrete contractors we use tapcons for all our form work and this rotary hammer has proven itself as a time, which means money, saver. We can now set forms on footings without generators or cords. Enough said.

Power Tools Review Bosch 1132VSR 3/8" Right-Angle Drill
I used this drill for an entire weekend, drilling holes for electrical wires in a large home addition. It performed flawlessly. Most of the holes were 7/8 inch (using a spade type bit), and this drilled handled it fine. The on/off trigger takes some time to get used; you have to pull down then in to operate the switch, but a great safety feature. I have used other right handle drills that didn't have this and I ended up with banged up knuckles. This is a great little drill, with powerful performance, and excellent quality.

Power Tools Review Quality
I already had a Milwaukee 3/8in close quater drill that workes very well. I got this because I wanted it, not needed it. It seems a step up in quality from the Milwaukee, and was 25 bucks more. Worth it. If I had to do it all over again, I would only have the Bosch.

Power Tools Review a must have for close quarter drilling
Bought bosch to replace dewalt dw-160 that I got on clearance when hechinger went out. Oddly enough bosch was bought when woodworker's world went out of business. The Dewalt was horrible, it had single speed(1200rpm) and no reverse!!!!! I love that the bosch has reverse and a variable speed dial. The speed dial makes it easier to drive screws. I am not to fond of the paddle switch, but I give it 5 stars anyway because I like the slower speed(1100rpm) and speed dial.

Power Tools Review Outstanding product.
Needed to do some sanding to get rid of a sloppy wallpaper job from the previous owner of my home. In desperation I got my Bosch detail sander on it and found it worked great but I needed something larger. Off to our local home improvement store where I did in fact "save big money".
Looking on the shelf this and the smaller Bosch unit were the ONLY 2 I could find not made in China. Even the well known "American" names were made in China or wouldn't even claim where they were made. VERY disappointing.
Having been very satisfied with my other Bosch sander I bought this. The first thing I noticed is how smooth and quiet it is. Next the POWER. If I wasn't careful I could have gone right through the wall ;)
My only complaint is it's somewhat heavy and bulky (but then I bought it for the quality).
Bottom line this is an outstanding product and won't disappoint. Perhaps I'll never use it beyond this one project or I'll never use it for what most do but I am impressed!

Power Tools Review Great sander with few flaws.
This sander greatly exceeded my expectations on smoothness, aggressiveness, and durability. I am a seasoned woodworker who invested in this product a a PC R/O palm sander for two different applications (the PC is also very smooth, I'm very impressed with it also). I bought the PC for furniture making and finishing, the BOSCH for more general purpose work. For three monthes I used this sander 24-7 to remove many, many layers of old (70yr) house paint. Using 60-grit H&L paper, it made quick work of the stripping task. It was extremely durable (Others and I inadvertantly dropped it at a max height of about five feet). The only problem I had with this tool was that the H&L pad wore-out fairly quickly.

Power Tools Review Great dustless performance
I own almost every type of sander, due to the fact that we live on our 50' motor yacht, with lots of varnished surfaces inside and out. I started working on the interior ladders (stairs to you land types) and was very concerned with the sanding dust generated by machine sanding. In addition to the other features I am most pleased with the dust removal system of my Bosch 3107dvs. AL Nalven Longboat Key, FL

Power Tools Review Works great
I bought this drill for a planned home improvement project after being disappointed with 2 prior cordless drills I had bought over the years.
These other drills suffered from short battery life and poor grip with the chuck mechanism.
Before buying this time, I went to Consumer Reports, who gave this item high marks all around.
I'm completely satisfified with it.

Power Tools Review Well made compact drill
I was looking for a small but still powerful cordless drill. This little dynamo filled the bill. Its light weight but does a great job for its size. The batteries are long lasting and recharge quickly. It received a best buy rating from Consumer Reports and so far it is living up to its rating.

Power Tools Review Super Drill
Okay, I'm a little late to the cordless tool thing, this being my first cordless. The Bosch 3214-2G is everything it claims to be. So far, so good. Lots of power and lots of torque. I particulary like that it is NOT made in China. Having read lots of reviews on different 14.4 cordless drills, I settled on the Bosch. I would recommend the drill, shoot it handled a 4" hole saw w/o trouble.

Power Tools Review Makita LS1214F 12" Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw with Fluorescent Light
Yes, just like other customer has mentioned. I got the package that look like it has been repackaged. It doesn't look brand new but also it doesn't look like it has been used. However, mine has come with a broken leg so I have to RMA it.

Power Tools Review Makita LS1214F 12" Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw with Fluorescent Light
I am interested in knowing if any others who ordered, got upon receipt of the box, a repackaged unit. Seems to work OK, but definately does not appear to be a new unopened item. Please post, and let me know. Thanks. I did not see where these were refurbs or "other than new", in the original itme listing.

Power Tools Review practice makes perfect, be cautious of saws features
I just mounted a 10" model to a Hitachi stand. Beware of the adjustable arms that come with the saw. Mine lifted the wood, making it uneven as I tighted the adjustable wood supporting arms. The stand helps, because you don't have to use the Makita supports. I have yet to contact Makita about the problem.

I would however reccommend the Home Depot Miter Saw stand for $200. It has very large wheels and it is very easy to move, and extremely stable.
