Rousseau 3002 Router Lift LS
Great router lifter
Precise Router Lift. What it does: It allows for extreme precise height adjustment. Using a hex bolt atop simply turn to the right to raise or left to lower. It is that simple, no need to loosen something first or tighten after. One full turn equals 1/16" with numbers at 1/64" intervals and marks at every 1/512" in between. It lifts full up in around 30-40 turns for easy above the table bit changes.
Assembly: I was able to unlatch the quick-release cam lock level, drop in the router motor and latch with out adjusting anything right out of the box. A 7/16" bolt is used to tighten or loosen the tension if needed.
Was it worth it: The speed and accuracy of adjusting bit height is incredible. As is, removing and installing the router motor off the lift, which has no effect on previous setting. This allows for true one router motor for all bases. 5 stars.

Delta 36-887 shaper accessory packagemobil base. I have the same one on my table saw and
life is much simpler with them. The router spindal is
another story. It is of great quality but it has a
3/4 shaft. Now my Delta heavy-duty shaper model 43-379
has a 3/4 and 1/2 spindal with a 1/2 shafts. Since the
shaft size is not given in the promotional reveiws I
thought it should be. Great deal if it fits.
Using What I HaveI am very pleased with the spindle accessory as well. I am able to use all of my router bits and door making kits without having to buy any shaper cutters. I may break down and get a set later though. The fit and finish of the spidle is great. It, along with my shaper, have given me results superior to work I have done in the past.

Router bit set
Router 6 Pc. SetWith these bits I can make very percise cuts and with the finished product I've sold them for as much as 250-300 dollars each. My only regret is that dremel would make some other types of router bits just like the big boys.

Important Accessory for the Fein RT-1800An interesting note is that the international standard for the 1/4" equivalent is 8mm, which is a 56% larger shaft, but still is small enough to fit into the smaller template sizes. So you get a lot more strength, which means less vibration. Is it possible that the disdain for the 1/4" standard, drove this W. German manufacturer into offering the 1/4" collet as an option? The 8mm collet is available from Fein Power Tools in Pittsburgh PA> Part number 0000433085, or you can check with Amazon.com in the Tool Crib at 1-800-635-5140.
I first learned of the 8mm standard when I bought the Leigh Dovetail Jig. Leigh manufacturing offers a 15 piece bit set with 1/2" and 8mm bits, in addition to the other set with 1/2" and 1/4" bits. They find superior results with the 8mm's, so they make special mention of offering them. I bought the 8s, and they are substantially larger. I plan on acquiring more 8mm bit sets in the future, in addition to the 1/4"s that I now have.
This 1/4" collet is substantially made, just like the rest of the Fein line. The RT-1800 is unique in that it has linear bearings instead of ball bearings. Consquently, Fine Woodworking magazine, in a follow up article to their router run off, stated that the new Fein Rt-1800, had such a little bit of run out, that it was off the chart next to every other router they tested. The long shaft-surface area of a linear bearing, holds the shaft in line a lot greater than the microscopic surface of the edge of a ball bearing. Some resort to dual ball bearings to improve on that. Back to the collet.
It doesn't come with the locking nut. Switching the nut into the collet is easy. It snaps in and out of the nut rather easily. The Fein collets really hold onto the bits very well. It is like the rest of the Fein line, it costs more, but you get more. The engineering is second to none.
Perfect!Without hesitation I can say that Fein collets are way better than dozens of other collets I've seen. No question about it.
The only complain that I have is the absence of additional collet nut -- I wish it supplied as an collet/nut assembly: despite it's relatively easy to remove collet from the nut (thin 1/2" goes out easily, thick 1/4" with some effort, both go in easily), I don't like the the process -- the nut has a groove with a sharp edge used to keep the collet in, and moving collets in and out on regular basis will ruin the nut (or collet) sooner or later. Besides that, the need to bend collet prongs slightly in order to release it from the nut does not increase collet life as well. Finally, it takes time. When I get bored, I will buy additional nut for 1/4" collet.

Freud Router Bit
Great profile with a clean edge.
As most woodworkers know changing bits can be cumbersome.
with the Rousseau its EZ. Another item is getting the correct depth is like pulling teeth without novocaine. This lift takes that out of the equation. I would recommend this to any novice or hardcore woodwork, it saves time and knuckles.
