My Bosch 1617EVS router has been in my router table for 2 years. I think the 1617EVS is a great router and I had been considering buying a 2nd one for hand held use until I saw this product. This base has the exact same precision features as the router. It's the same housing except for the handles. So I mounted the new base in the router table and the old housing with the handles is now free to be used as a hand-held router. Bosch did me a great favor by coming up with this product. The base comes with a very nice extension knob that makes it even easier to dial in the precise depth I need at the router table, a nice improvement over the small knob that I've been using for years. It's a breeze to pop the motor out of either housing and switch to the other. I'm very pleased with this product.

Steel guides are great, strong, cheap, reliable, and long lasting,,,AS LONG AS YOU KEEP THEM DRY! Occasionaly My Shop has a humidity problem. It usually makes things miserable in early spring. Table saw tops rusting, drill press table, jointer bed, etc. The worst is when I leave small accessory cases open and the underside of things like router guide sets, show those tiny little signs of corrosion. A little rust on your guides will usually show up on your projects after rubbing off of your templates. If you insist on using steel, make sure they are clean. My other gripe is probably my own fault. When using long narrow bits, like 1/4", 1 or 2 flute straights,, if the bit flexes under pressure, steel will throw sparks. This will startle you. Sparks scare things out of me. Anyway, if steel will corrode inside my shop,, what will it do in the back of a truck? These are probably made by children in some awful place, but they are accurate as any others, center well and don't cost an arm and a leg. Good value for the buyer.

If you already have the Delta Shaper this stub spindle fits
(43.355) then you're already half way there! This item lets you use both 1/2" spindle shaper cutters and 1/4" or 1/2" router bits
Fit and finish of the accessory was very, very good. No idea if it is made offshore, but given Delta's track record the last few years it wouldn't surprise me. Nonetheless, it it a well made accessory and given the amount of machining to make it the price
Amazon charges is quite reasonable.

The stability and usability of the Delta shaper is far superior
to any router table setup I've seen yet. This accessory will let
you leverage your collection of router bits and avoid the high cost of seldom used shaper cutters.

Amazon was a little slower than usual getting me this item, but
then hardly any other online tool source could even order it! Kudos to Amazon for getting me this fine addition to my tool collection.

I am setting up a REAL basement workshop for building furniture and needed a top notch solution to allow indoor sanding. This machine is what you would expect from Delta -- very substantial and solid. Decent air flow, combined with the curtains, directs the dust to the removeable dust filter. At 31" by 31", and with the moveable dust curtains, you can handle almost anything in the realm of furniture. If you loved Erector Sets as a kid, you will also love assembling the 50-855 -- with some 75 sets of bolts, nuts, and washers -- straightforward, but 1 to 2 hours to set up. Overall, a great addition for any woodworker who recognizes the importance of dust control!

I've had my 1 HP dust collector for about two years now. Overall I've been very happy with it. Assembly was straight forward without any missing hardware or other nasty surprises. Fit and finish of all parts is very good to excellent. The
assembly/use instructions are quite adequate. The zip lock
plastic bag for storing the manual/parts breakdown is a nice touch. Like the vast majority of my Delta tools it did NOT
require a phone call to their customer service to get it up and
running. Having said that you DO need to set aside a couple of
hours to assemble the pup..there are a LOT of bolt/washer/nut
connections to make. Should be a one person assembly operation-nothing is really too heavy for the average woodworker to handle
alone.

It is a well made unit which will obviously serve the needs of the small shop user for many, many years.

In operation it does an outstanding job of sucking up airborne
sanding dust and debris. Out of habit I still wear a dust mask,

but I really think it isn't necessary. In a confined area it is a little noisy (not as bad as a cheap vacuum though) and you might want to consider ear protection especially if you're going to use it all day.

Nit picks: (1) the dust filter-glued-to-a-tray needs to be changed to something where a standard 1" industrial filter can be used. Even though the original filter will last for years with care, the purchase price for a replacement is just too high.

(2) The curtain surrounding the top is a little awkward to use if you put the dust collector up against a side wall.

(3) Why aren't all of the holes in the top fitted with grommets?
Gosh, these things cost maybe a dime a piece..surely that extra
expense wouldn't have broken the budget! You can take one of your grommets to a decent hardware store (forget the big box places.the 16 year old kid working there has no idea what a grommet is..) and get enough to fill the rest of the holes for
little more than pocket change.

All nit picks are very minor and in no way detract from my overall satisfaction. I've been given to understand that Delta is moving production for this item offshore too-so if you want a Made in the USA one you'd better hurry up and buy it!

BTW: The fan powering this beast is very, very strong. All of air entering the top exits the bottom...don't be surprised if
you find out your floor is NOT as clean as you think it is as it
blows up dust from under the machine.

I have owned 4 different DeWalt routers which I enjoyed despite limitations that I found in all of them (weight, power, ease of use, etc.) I still, however considered the previous DeWalt routers to be superior to both Porter Cable and Bosch routers.

When DeWalt came out with their new 1 3/4 and 2 1/4 hp routers with multiple bases to compete with PC, I had to try them.

I decided on the 1 3/4 hp, as I have their 2 hp, and have never liked the weight of the unit. It always felt cumbersome doing light work. Upon receiveing this little router, I mounted the fixed base underneath one of my router tables, and kept the plunge base out for travelling work. Here are my impressions:

1.) This has plenty of smooth power to run virtually anything you fire its way. I was able to smoothly run a cabinet panelling bit through MDF (I would not dare to do so through hardwood that is what the 3hp router is for). On sit I ran 3/4" roundovers, 3/4" straight fluted bits, etc. without incident. This router has the power to do almost anything you need on site, and can run most bits you need in a router table.

2.) The changing of the motor from base to base takes a couple of times to get used to, but is smarter than the current Porter Cable model. Changing router bits requires two wrenches, however, the detachable cord and flat base allow it to rest in a flat and stable position.

3.) They made the base compatbile with Porter Cable bases so most of the base attachments you can buy for PC also work with the DeWalt.

Bottom line is I got rid of all other routers I owned except for the DeWalt 3hp (for panelling), and have two fixed bases mounted under Rockler router tables, one plunge and one fixed base for on site work, and a total of 5 motors to put wherever I need them. It has truly been a universal fit for all of my routing needs!

Great router kit. I first ordered from TylerTool.com only to wait and wait for nothing because they said it was in stock when you order, then they fail to let you know that they don't even have it in stock. I'm finding out that there is more and more online tool business like Tyler Tools that are doing this type of deceptive selling with attractive low price listings stealing time and money from buyers and legitimate sellers like Amazon. Anyway, Amazon had it in stock and I'm not disappointed.

The Dremel 326D 6-Piece High Speed Cutter Set is a good addition to your Dremel bit collection and works like a charm.

I think that these pieces are a great addition to anyones workshop. They work great for sanding in those hard to reach areas and the saws make great finishing cuts. I think that if you have to buy for someone that has a dremel this is the perfect gift. They are great for outlining body parts of animal cutouts. This is the best cutting and carving set that I've used. I hope this helps you decide on what you think of this set.

I bought a Bosch 1250DEVS sander. I read review of it by EvilTwin and he stated this VAC002 didn't fit. I called Bosch and desribed to them I had a 1 1/4" standard hose. They told me it would fit. Took the chance, now regret it. EvilTwin was correct, IT DOESN'T FIT. One end slips on the tool loosely, but the hose won't fit on other end. I reversed it, hose fitting on other end but adapter is too small to fit on the dust port. I tried forcing it on, then decided to shave a little off the adapter and tool port. It is usable but does not stay on. Thought about returning but postage costs as much as adapter. You have been warned, don't buy this.

Ordered it and then canceled it 3 days later when time to ship was still another week away. Shipping was an incredible $9.99 while the other two Bosch vacuum adapters shipped together for only $7.69 the day after the order.
