Be aware that the listed width in Amazon is wrong the true inside dimensions are 21" x 35-3/4". I built a router table to put on this mobile base using the stated wrong demensions in Amazon. I hope this info keeps you from the mistake I made. As for the base, I like them this is the third one I have.

I just installed this on a 660lb. engine lathe and while the design of the stand itself is very stout, the handle and tongue needed to move the machine is not up to the 800lb. rating, the first time I tried to use it I am already seeing some bending of the axel on the tongue unit (the stand itself shows no sign of any problems). Also, if you are trying to move a machine close to a wall you could have problems, similar to backing up a trailer, the pivot point of the front wheels with the axel is in the center and you must use the handle to turn the wheels, so the handle will bump into the wall limiting the amount you can turn (you will have to make small, repetitive back and forth movements to pivot the machine). All this time you have exert continuous downward pressure on the handle to keep the base elevated, while also tugging the handle to move the machine (a helper would be nice here). A rough or out of level floor such as my concrete garage floor makes things more difficult. You also have a handle with wheels that you have to store somewhere in order to use this base. On the plus side, when the machine is stationary, the base is very stable and does not have to be locked into position, and the machine is only raised up a small amount (1/8" or less). It was also easy to install since I could assemble the base "around" the machine and only had to jack it up 1/2" or so to get the base under it.
If the tongue and axel design were stronger, and did not require continuous downward pressure while moving, I would be pleased with this design. Don't get it if you have to move your machine a lot or have to jokey it in close quarters. And I would put practical upper weight limit at 400lbs, not 800lbs.

An update, I sent Vega an email about the problem with the tongue, and they sent me a new one promply. The axel bent just with just one try, so it was no fluke. I replaced the axel with a grade 5 bolt the same size, and that seems to be holding up. Bad design, vega.
