Sanders Review Belts are designed for light duty only
I have burned up all of the belts that came with the sander in just one day. I have used the sander at work to grind off flashing from polymer concrete castings (similar material to a cultured marble counter top.) I was able to get about 15 minutes out of each belt before they split and had to be discarded.

I don't recommend them for industrial use. They may be good for light duty sanding of wood and other soft materials but either way, the price is way too much for an expendable item.

Sanders Review No other source for belts.
Like the other reveiwers I have a problem with the durability of the belts. I burn through quite a few of these, we own 3 of these sanders, they are the best thing for touching up coped joints. Love the sander don't like the belts.
HEY BOSCH are you listening-

Sanders Review break too often
these belts work OK when they work but of the first 6-8 I used, two broke as soon as I turned on the machine. If I could find another source, I would probably switch but so far I can't find this size belt in my town.

Sanders Review POOR RUBBER BACKING
I agree with other reviews rubber pad wares too quickly, cost to replace is too much when all that is needed is the pad !!

Sanders Review Poor Design PC
I absolutely love the PC Paint Remover, but the backing pad leaves much to be desired. It is poor design when the rubber portion of the part breaks, and the only way to replace it is to buy a whole new aluminum casting with rubber pad attached. I would encourage PC to offer a replaceable rubber donut with some adhesive to stick the pad back on. My plan is to find some good rubber material and glue it to the backing plate, so I don't have to get out so much $$ to get up and running.

Sanders Review replacement almost necessary
The backing pad edges wear out after several hours leaving the disk edges without support. A worn pad is still ok but I needed a new one after about 25 hours of use.

Sanders Review Stupid Design, can't flush sand with it. Bosch blew it.
The picture shown for this sander shows a sander able to flush sand to the belt side of the sander. This error caused me to purchase this rediculously designed belt sander. Bosch, I have normally loved their tools. But this makes me feel like never buying another bosch tool again. Instead of redesigning the sander and motor housing for the 3x24 belt, they used the same frame and body with different rollers and platina for the 4" wide sander to save them design costs and changes. So what does this do,, yep, leaves a full one inch over hang of the motor housing over the belt.. How STUPID. you think they could have at least modified it to push the rollers and platina out to the side so it would be flush like the 4 inchers. but no. If you want a tool designed to save Bosch money and with no care as to the end user,, you or me,, then buy this piece of garbage.

Sanders Review Great Idea but it ends there
I recently bought this sander for my shop and I thought it was a great idea, great product, and great price. Although I did not buy it from toolcrib I got it for only 100 bucks brand new. I now know why. I have not heard yet but I would not doubt it if delta has already stopped making these. It is a great idea, but something is missing. Possibly the lack of consistancy of sanding across the surface of the pad or just not being able to put enough pressure on the machine to get the job done correctly. I would much rather stick to my dewalt random orbit sander(handheld).

Sanders Review Dremel sent the wrong size bit!
The replacement sand paper arrived a good week before the actual dremel. They enclosed a bit that doesn't fit into the base, so it's unusable. Of course, I was following the program of gradually acclimating my dogs to the presence of this little machine near their paws, so I didn't discover this for a while. Now I have to go through the hassle of trying to make the dremel work and re-acquantaining my dogs with it, once the right piece arrives.

I am very disappointed.

Sanders Review Reconditioned DeWalt DW433KR
I received the above belt sander and was pleased upon its arrival, however, upon use am very unhappy. The belt does not track properly and comes off the sander, even when using the tracking adjustment to the point it falls out! I contacted DeWalt and they advised taking it in for service as the tension spring is apparently malaligned, what is the point when it shoud have worked to begin with? I will have to take the unit for Warranty Repair, but since I needed it to paint the house, it seems to defeat the purpose.

Sanders Review Do NOT Buy This Item - IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!!
The Fein Sanding Finger Pad is a waste of your good money! The sanding finger is not stiff enough. The net result is that the hook & loop sanding papers vibrate off of the sanding finger within less than a minute of use. I am extremely disappointed in this product, as it is the first Fein product, of which I own many, that does NOT work as advertised. If I could, I would return the Sanding Finger and all of the sandpaper that I purchased for it.

    Sanders Review Service stinks
I purchased this drum sander a year ago. After using it sparingly for 6 months the motor broke down. The president of Grizzly advertises in his catalog that they give their customers "Exemplary Service" and if a tool breaks down "It gets fixed fast". You be the judge:

I called Grizzly and then spent the better part of three days working on the motor as I was being coached on the phone by one of their techs. Finally it was determined that the motor was defective. It was 14 days before the new motor arrived. But Grizzly sent the wrong motor that turned the drums in the wrong direction. It took 5 more days for the tech to determine that the motor could not be reversed. The second replacement motor took another 16 days to arrive. The pulley was damaged so I had to wait another week for a replacement. By the time the sander was up and running again a total of 6 weeks had elapsed.

So what do you think, "Exemplary" and "It gets fixed fast"?

The new motor was in the machine less than 2 weeks and it too broke down. In frustration I tried to get Grizzly to just take back the machine. Their customer service department said there was no chance of that happening.

The bottom line is that the people at Grizzly are quite content to see let their customers try to fix their machinery indefinately. While they don't seem to feel obligated to live up to their claims of great service.

I would give Grizzly 0 stars if it was possible. I also have a Grizzly table saw and a thickness planer that I am selling. I can't afford to have one of them break down and have to go through something like this again.

My advice to anyone thinking of purchasing any piece of Grizzly machinery is: unless you have the patience of a Buddhist Monk or a back up tool, DON'T DO IT.
