Spindle Sanders Review 3 INCH JET SPINDLE
It is heavy and well made. Comes with one sleeve. It was a wait to obtain. Seems to have limited availability. Great for
straight edges. Sleeves are also tough to find other than from Jet.

Spindle Sanders Review To buy or not to buy? Is it worth it?
This 3" spindle assembly is substantially larger, and heavier than the standard spindles which comes with the Jet Benchtop Osciallating spindle sander. The advantage to having a larger drum is that it creates a flatter surface where the crown meets with the wood. That creates a smoother surface on larger pieces. The smaller spindles that come with the unit, range from the 2" on down to the smallest ones, which are great for getting into smaller corners etc, but on a large flat or gradual curved surface they can create dimples in the surface if you don't keep the material moving.
Is the 3" spindle neccessary? Not really, with a careful technique, you can accomplish it with the smaller spindles, but it definitely makes it easier. Highly recommended.

Spindle Sanders Review Makes Your Benchtop Sander Work Like a "Floor Model"
This kit gives you a whole different range of capability with your Jet sander. Take this kit, put your sander on a stable tool stand, and then pat yourself on the back for the money you saved by not buying a floor model sander. With this kit, your sander tackles a much broader range of tasks.

When sanding smooth, flowing curves (like the curvature in a bandsawn box, for instance), the added diameter of this piece keeps the sander from gouging troughs in your workpiece.

I highly recommend it!

Spindle Sanders Review Awesome!
My machine arrived with freight damage. Grizzly offered to send a second machine but I felt, with a few parts, that the machine was easily repairable. Without hesitation they shipped all the parts I needed and sent some extra sanding drums for my trouble! Their customer service was the best I ever experienced. They even called me back twice to check on my progress!

The machine is up and running now. It is heavy and quiet. It's a nice addition to my wood shop. You won't regret buying this unit. In a Delta review the buyer talks of the sharp corners on this machine's table. I looked around my shop and found the same sharp corners on my bandsaw, tablesaw, radial arm saw, planer, etc. etc. etc. To spend $250 more for the Delta because of the corners isn't necessary in my opinion.

Spindle Sanders Review Great machine
This is a very capable machine. Unit runs with no vibration, it is very quiet and has ample power. The sanding drums last much longer than I expected due to the oscillating action and the cut is smooth and fast. This would be a great addition to any shop.

Spindle Sanders Review Great fit and quality
These fit perfectly and work great too.

The finer grit like this is better for small spaces, then you don't have to worry as much about taking too much off.

And for thin pieces you can flip them over to use more of the sand paper.

Spindle Sanders Review Perfect Fit
I like using 80 grit to trim near my pattern mark, and then switch to a finer grit to polish it smooth.

With thin pieces you can flip these over to keep from wasting part of the sleeve. And they are tall enough to stack several items together if you are making more than one part.

Spindle Sanders Review Good fit and quality
These sleeves fit perfectly and work great. The 80 grit paper will really take off the wood.

The large diameter is great for big curves, straight sections and convex curves.

Spindle Sanders Review Perfect Fit
I like using the finer grits to smooth the edges around the pattern marks. And the large diameters are great for gentle curves.

With thin pieces you can flip these over to keep from wasting part of the sleeve. And they are tall enough to stack several items together if you are making more than one part.

I used these on a drawer divider project. I stacked up to four curved dividers together at one time to get the same shape on each of them.

Spindle Sanders Review Excellent Value
Ordered this machine on Monday morning and it arrived Wednesday morning, just 47 hours later. Kudos to FedEx Freight!

It took about an hour to set up. The only assembly required is to bolt together the base. The motor weighs about 140 lbs so you will need a friend to help lift the motor onto the base.

The tables are big and sturdy. Both tables needed to be aligned to the spindle/disc, which was easy to do. The motor is more than powerful enough. One downside is that the disc sander is kinda low. Anyone that is taller than 6' will find the disc sander uncomfortably low. The table of the spindle sander is at the right height however.

There are two dust collection ports, each 2" in diameter. Why they selected 2" instead of the much more popular 2 1/2" is a mystery. Dust collection is adequate.

I'll update this review in six months to let everyone know about durability.

Spindle Sanders Review A must have for the optional 3" spindle
At first impression you are tempted to buy the optional 3" spindle for the Jet Benchtop Osciallating Spindle Sander, and skip the table insert. If you are only doing larger pieces it is possible, but the insert is an important fill to the table top.
All of the spindle inserts are easy to change, since they are only a drop in device with a single nipple so they go in the same every time. Several inserts come with the unit to keep the work support right up to the edge of the spindle sanding sleeve. The 3" shouldn't be any different and that is why this insert is a good idea as well. Highly recommended.

Spindle Sanders Review Makita 7" Sander-Polisher
My son asked for this for Christmas. He used one at a friends house and just had to have one. He's checked all the other brands of sanders/polishers and couldn't find one to match this one in ease of use and power. This is a great item to get that guy that "needs" to keep his car shining like brand new. I think I'll borrow it from my son for a sanding project I'm sick of doing by hand.

Spindle Sanders Review MILWAUKEE 7" GRINDER (6068)
MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS GRINDER/SANDER IS FROM A SUPPORT POSITION WITH ONE OF THE LARGEST CONTRACTORS IN THE U.S. THIS MILWAUKEE GRINDER WAS ONE OF THE COMPONENTS IN OUR PROJECT TOOL TRAILERS FOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS BOTH DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL IN SCOPE. OVER THE COURSE OF TWO YEARS IN INSPECTING THEM AND REPAIRING THEM, I FOUND THEM TO BE A VERY DURABLE UNIT. THE MOST COMMON REPAIRS CONSISTED OF CLEANING THE UNITS UP, BLOWING OUT THE DIRT, CHANGING THE BRUSHES AND REPLACING CUT CORDS OR DAMAGED PLUGS OR MISSING GUARDS. THE FIELDS, ARMATURES, GEARING ARE REALLY SOLID. THE CASES WILL BREAK IF YOU DROP THEM, AS WITH ANY TOOL. SWITCHES ARE VERY DEPENDABLE. ALWAYS USE THEM WITH A GUARD WHEN GRINDING. THESE ARE MY OPINIONS FROM INSPECTING APPROXIMATELY 100 OF THESE TOOLS, COMING BACK FROM THE PROJECTS.
