What can you say about this? It fits snugly on both ends, and does what it's supposed to. Recommended for the PC dust hose conversions for those of us still suffering with using a shop vac.

As a contractor,this is one of the best investments I have made.I have the "automater" wired in as a portable unit and this allows me to move from job-to-job and from room-to-room to use my time more efficiently.It also allows me to use any of my tools without making a dusty mess in my customers' homes.So far it has worked out great and my customers seem to enjoy less of a mess.

An excellent addition to a dust collector for the one man shop or hobbiest. Takes electrical experience, but can totally automate your shop. When you start your power tool, the dust collector automatically starts; saving you time and cleanup.

I am a cat lover with horrible cat allergies. This is the best product I've found that allows me to have my cats in the house without the problems associated with allergies. I simply wipe the cats down a couple of times a week and no allergy problems. The instructions say to use every couple of weeks but because my allergies are so bad I've found I need to use them 2-3 times a week. I guess it depends on how bad your allergies are. This is a product I will definitely keep buying.

This dust chute is made of thick plastic and bolts right up to the DC-380 planer. Some of the reviewers (under the DC-380 planer section) mention the difficulty they've had connecting a 4" dust hose to the 4 and 7/8 inch connector. My solution was to buy a standard metal reducer at the hardware store (5" female to 4" female) and drill out the rivets that hold it together. I squeezed the reducer down until the big end fit on the Delta dust chute and the small end fit INSIDE a 4" dust hose. Reassemble with inexpensive aluminum pop rivets and you're good to go. Now, the connector fits the planer so well, I don't need tape to hold it.

If you have this planer you need this chip collector. It works, it fits, It's easy to install, you'll get a better cut without the chips flying all around getting caught between the knife and your lumber. It's cheap. I have had this planner for 10 years I should have got the hood sooner. You will need an adapter if your not set-up for four inch collection.

Made out of plastic and fits very well to planer. I would choose this one over the metal one with different part numbers any day. I also bought a adapter for a 1.5 shop vac and this does not fit to the 5" outlet because both parts are 5" so I duct tape the adapter on the 5" outlet on the planer connect.

I've had my 1 HP dust collector for about two years now. Overall I've been very happy with it. Assembly was straight forward without any missing hardware or other nasty surprises. Fit and finish of all parts is very good to excellent. The
assembly/use instructions are quite adequate. The zip lock
plastic bag for storing the manual/parts breakdown is a nice touch. Like the vast majority of my Delta tools it did NOT
require a phone call to their customer service to get it up and
running. Having said that you DO need to set aside a couple of
hours to assemble the pup..there are a LOT of bolt/washer/nut
connections to make. Should be a one person assembly operation-nothing is really too heavy for the average woodworker to handle
alone.

It is a well made unit which will obviously serve the needs of the small shop user for many, many years.

In operation it does an outstanding job of sucking up airborne
sanding dust and debris. Out of habit I still wear a dust mask,

but I really think it isn't necessary. In a confined area it is a little noisy (not as bad as a cheap vacuum though) and you might want to consider ear protection especially if you're going to use it all day.

Nit picks: (1) the dust filter-glued-to-a-tray needs to be changed to something where a standard 1" industrial filter can be used. Even though the original filter will last for years with care, the purchase price for a replacement is just too high.

(2) The curtain surrounding the top is a little awkward to use if you put the dust collector up against a side wall.

(3) Why aren't all of the holes in the top fitted with grommets?
Gosh, these things cost maybe a dime a piece..surely that extra
expense wouldn't have broken the budget! You can take one of your grommets to a decent hardware store (forget the big box places.the 16 year old kid working there has no idea what a grommet is..) and get enough to fill the rest of the holes for
little more than pocket change.

All nit picks are very minor and in no way detract from my overall satisfaction. I've been given to understand that Delta is moving production for this item offshore too-so if you want a Made in the USA one you'd better hurry up and buy it!

BTW: The fan powering this beast is very, very strong. All of air entering the top exits the bottom...don't be surprised if
you find out your floor is NOT as clean as you think it is as it
blows up dust from under the machine.

Unlike the other Dust Separators, which have a ton of overhang, this one fits the standard 30 gallon trash can PERFECTLY. I returned the first one I ordered, which was from Jet. This one is the real deal.

I read a number of reviews on a couple other adapters out there where people were having trouble getting them to work...needing duct tape etc. to get them to fit...this is the adapter you will need to connect a 2.5" hose on a Shop-Vac to a 4" dust port...like on the back of my new Delta 36-717 Table Saw I got on Amazon.com. Haven't written my review yet for it because I'm compiling a bunch of notes. Yes...it does have it's issues because it's new...but I got it for a little over $600.00 and...yes...it's not a Jet or a Unisaw...but it's not $2500+ either!!! It is a great full cabinet saw for the $$$.

I searched long and hard for a dust collector to use in my small shop (with office attached). I needed it to be powerful and pick up as much sawdust as possible. I love the Grizzly! Its loud, as it should be, but it gets the job done! The cleaning bars work well to keep the suction at a maximum and the clear bags let you know when its time to dump some sawdust.

My only problem with this collector is the location of the on/off switch. Is down low and you have to reach between the bags to get to it manually. I will be adding a wireless remote control to offset this bit of difficulty.

The thumbswcrew allows you to get these very tight with little effort. Quality of the clamp is average. The thumbscrew is better than expected.
