Safety Devices Review Install a pain in the as...
Spreader seems to work fine after you get it lined up with blade. That is a matter of trial and error. Since Biesemeyer is owned by Delta, and Delta makes the Unisaw, one would thing the spreader mounting braket could be designed to self align with the bade. For the price it should.

Safety Devices Review No more worries!
After reading many articles on table saw kick back, I decided I did not want to be the next victim so I bought the Biesemeyer 78-431 T-Square Anti-Kickback Snap-In Spreader (For Delta Left Tilt Unisaw). I removed the original blade guard and kickback device after one day of use. The blind spots were distracting and aggravating. When it came time to install my dado blade, there was the factory splitter. Aggravating to remove and more aggravating to install and align. Without completing the re-installation, I worked for a few weeks without both. MUCH nicer and no aggravations!

My conscience told me over and over to install a splitter so I bought the 78-431.
Over priced? Yes. Worth it? Yes! What is the cost of a finger or hand? Much more in many ways than the cost of this splitter/ kickback device. DO NOT order the wrong unit. Right tilt and left tilt saws require their own order number.
Installation was non-complex, bigger hands than mine might have some grief but that goes without saying when working in tight spaces. All of the original blade guard hardware must be removed. If you already installed and auxiliary out feed table, you may have to loosen a bolt or two and readjust it when you're done. No big deal.

Keep in mind that the splitter/kickback device is removable and replaceable in seconds; also keep in mind that this splitter is for 1/8" blades only. Thin kerf blades will not work with this unit. A three horsepower and higher saw does not require a thin kerf blade. They are meant for lower horsepower contractor and bench saws since the thin kerf allows for easier cutting pressures.

Some of the earlier Biesemeyer overhead blade guards came with a removable splitter that sold separately for about $30.00. The 78-431 is about $130.00 and more meaty than the thirty dollar freebee.
I use this splitter/kickback device faithfully and never had a problem. Here's to all my fingers!! Thank you Biesemeyer!

Safety Devices Review A terrific compromise between a bare blade and the full guard
This splitter with built-in anti-kickback wings provides great usability, while providing the maximum visibility in the cutting area, something the standard blade guard reduces substantially. I think it's a great compromise between usability and safety, and never use the standard guard any more.

The only downside is that, while the 78-431 is easy to mount and dismount, it requires it's own hardware under the saw table, so switching between it and the standard blade guard requires a fair amount of work and realignment.

Safety Devices Review Quality
I saw this item on a friends saw and the material and machining of the parts was excellent. Therefore I bought one. Dissapointed in the fact that they went from a machined splitter to a punched one. The function is the same but I hated to see the quality reduced.
Disappointed.

Safety Devices Review May need alteration
My Powermatic 66 was built right around 2000, which is the time of a model switch requiring a different T-Square model. I ended up ordering both models as the first one didn't fit. As it turns out my 66 is a hybrid model requiring a trip to the hardware store, and the need to redrill the lower mounting hole. All in all, I got through it, and am really happy with it. As I rip boards now I am much more comfortable.

Safety Devices Review Only fits PM 66 Saws mfg before Aug 2000.
Great design but would not fit my saw. After talking with Biesemeyer, I found out that a different model is available for saws mfg after Aug 2000 - part # B78440. I'll be swapping mine out for the modified design. Be sure to carefully look at the date of your PM 66's manufacture and pick the correct spreader. Otherwise, this is a very sound investment in safety.

Safety Devices Review Concerned Consumer
I bought this heater last year to use in my living room, the term "safe heat" is an oxymoron. It started having problems turning on within a month of purchase and then burnt a hole in the rug - luckily I smelled it burning immediately. There was a large burn mark on the bottom of the heater and a burn on the rug. I suggest picking something that is really safe.

Safety Devices Review Good buy.
Pros: Good price, fast heating with excellent termostat, rotates, very quiet, timer, VERY safe.
Cons: display is not backlit and is hard to read. This is troublesome enough that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Safety Devices Review DeLonghi DFH469M SafeHeat Fan Heater
This is without a doubt the best fan heater I have ever used! I live in the mountains of Colorado and we had an incredibly brutal winter but this fan kept my bathroom (the only room I bother using a heater in) so nice and warm. After 5 minutes I could turn it off and the room would still be comfortably warm. And it oscillates! Great heater. I highly recommend it.

Safety Devices Review Good Notebook Computer Accessory
Good surge protector for notebook owners because it is a relatively inexpensive and lightweight accessory to pack along for travel trips. However, the manual is nonexistent for the product because it does not decipher what the colors on the 3 LED status lights stand for. The outlets are only suitable for plugs that are standard, not the big blocky type that are common for printers and Zip drives. The price beats the competition out there, and the design is very functional to fit all wall receptacles. The lifetime $10,000 warranty is the main feature that stands out for this surge protector.

Safety Devices Review excellent compact surge protector
I bought this item in Jan 2001 just before a trip to Europe. I found it convenient for several reasons. One, it tells you if an outlet has power, if it's grounded properly, and if you're protected (three little lights on top). Two, it comes with two grounded outputs (one on either side) which are great for whatever extra appliance needs to be plugged in (your friend's powerbook, a lamp at the table, an external firewire drive, etc). Both of these outputs leave plenty of room for the extra wide converters that sometimes come with periferals. Three, it offers one telephone input, and two outputs (one for modem, one for fax or telephone). This means you can tap in anywhere (a hotel room, a friend's place, etc) and, when you're not using your modem, you don't need to replug-in the telephone.

I found it to be great for working at coffee shops and for any trips within the US.

One warning: I have only one criticism, which isn't entirely the fault of Cutris, but as it's a companion to a laptop, Curtis could have included some instructions not to plug it into a foreign outlet. Basically, it's a different voltage which is not at all grounded, I'm not even sure it could have worked even with a converter. Maybe they thought this was obvious. Regardless, I mistakenly plugged it (alone - no computer connected) into a hotel socket in Paris to the welcome of a gigantic spark and a quick shock. The lights went out across my wing of the hotel. Anyway, a warning not to try this yourself.

I still give the item a great review. Suprisingly few surge protectors offer two tel-out jacks, especially on a portable. I bought a second one once I returned.

Safety Devices Review Great warmth but is noisy.
I have an older model of Pelonis Ceramic Heater. This heater keeps the room warm-once its taken the chill out of the air. The compact size and warmth output best features. The noisy fan-is the reason I'm seeking a new heater. And why I wrote this review.

Safety Devices Review Supplemental Heating
This heater will warm you, but don't expect it to perform the way it's claimed to. It's small, compact, but has a noisy fan, that can be heard above TVs, radios, and is a bit disturbing when trying to sleep; that is, until you get adjusted to it. The thermostat is not very accurate. It runs for long periods of time, and stays off for long periods of time. The Safety features don't work like they should either. If you knock or over-turn this heater, it's supposed to turn off. On the 750 watt setting, it doesn't turn off for several minutes, if knocked over. It will continue to super-heat your carpet, until the safety kicks in, about 5 to 7 minutes, then shuts down. On the 1500 watt setting, it goes off in less than one minute, if over-turned. I owned one briefly, but didn't keep it for it's failure to shut off if tipped over, noisy fan, and inaccurate thermostat. There are no voting buttons; so you must write your own reviews. Want voting buttons, than you need to incorporate them in the "Write a Review area". I actually tried this heater at my home; and it did not satisfy me with it's performance. My reviews of a product are honest, and unbiased. If you disagree with my review, then try one of these heaters for yourself; and write your review. My email is now: JHJR43@prodigy.net

    Safety Devices Review surger product
I have this power surger for several years and have liked. Recently I had a huge surge to my house and it blew out my sony 36" tv which was connected to the surger. I need to get in touch with the manufacturer to get them to own up on their guarantee. Anyone have the phone number or address? The phone number I have is disconnected.

    Safety Devices Review Rodney
I purchased this "protector" over a year ago from a local office store because it was on sale. Recently I submitted a loss to Belkin due to a power surge resulting from a lightning storm at my home office. This product guarantees replacement at an "Unlimited Amount!" I now know, after experiencing Belkin's claim/customer service, how they can make that promise. It's quite simple to make empty statements. In fact, they should add, "Comes with a FREE CAR!" because Belkin's response to my claim, via a pattern letter, was "there is no physical information to support your connected equipment warranty claim with Belkin Corporation."

I had 3 components plugged into this suppressor. Belkin failed to protect 2 of the 3. So I'm left with a $... loss, including the original surge protector purchase. That's right, you mail the surge protector to Belkin, so they can evaluate their product, and they don't even send you a replacement! Not that I'd use it because their product does not work. How do I know with certainty that their product doesn't work? On the same date of the loss I had, APC products protected 17 of 18 items in my home office. My only APC loss was a 27" TV. Also, when I contacted APC regarding my claim, I spoke to a person, and I had a replacement suppressor arrive at my home within 3 days. In contrast, when I contacted Belkin regarding my loss, after a phone maze, at my cost (no 800 number for claimants) I was directed to the Internet to file my claim. Two weeks later I get a pattern letter from Belkin denying any product failure on their part.

Bottom line APC had better products, and provides better service. I strongly recommend you look elsewhere for a surge protection.
