Looked around a lot for a nice locking mailbox for a housewarming present for my son & daughter-in-law. In person and online I saw several wall-hung locking mailboxes that weren't attractive (or were downright hideous), and several attractive ones that weren't secure. Of the lot, this was the most promising. And it wasn't as outrageously expensive as many. Ordered it thru Amazon, and kept my fingers crossed. It arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was well-packed. It's really pretty. I ordered the antique copper finish (thinking it would go well with the slate trim on their new house) and it's perfect. It's got good weight to it---not flimsy at all. It's got a decent-sized place for mail, with a nice big flap for the mail carrier. It looks great on their house, and best of all they love it---and they're even harder to please than I am!

After it had been up for a few weeks, I happened to be there at the same time as the mail-carrier, and she said it's a good design from her viewpoint as well---big enough for small packages, and the opening opens and closes easily & securely.

I got this mailbox because I wanted a lockable box that would hold a week's worth of mail (tired of stopping and restarting mail). The mailbox is now installed on the optional post (you need 60-80 lbs of concrete to set it, which I got at local HW store). In addition, you should have a level to insure the post is level, as this mailbox will look odd if not level - however you can shim it on the bottom with washers if the post is NOT level).

Wife and I think the unit looks good, and it's solid and well built!

Only complaint is the lock is "stiff" - we have to jiggle the key to get it in. I plan to squirt it with lock tumbler lubricant, which is probably something it needs once or twice a year.

I am very happy with my mailbox. Shipped super quick! I had it at my house within 72 hours after ordering. I feel very secure knowing my mail is safely locked up.

This is a great mail box. I had to replace my old mail box after a tornado struck our home. During repairs we had to move. We installed this mail box as soon as possible to keep mail secure at the house until we could check it. Quality parts through out the construction. Didn't like the flag provided. Found an excellent replacement at [...]Compaired to the one provided it looks a lot better with a brick surround.

I bought this mailbox because I order frequently online and receive most of my packages in USPS priority mail boxes. Boy, was I disappointed to find some priority boxes wouldn't fit. While the opening is big enough to accept the priority mailboxes, the way the "hopper" is constructed keeps them from being deposited. Otherwise, I would have rated this mailbox 5 stars. Note: this does NOT refer to the Junior model.

My wife and I liked the style of this mailbox, so we bought it. It has a locked storage compartment, so you can go away for a week and not have to stop the mail. It appears well made with heavy gauge steel (and the mail stays dry when its raining outside).

Because its rectangular, you want to make sure the post is plumb while it sets in concrete. You could always shim the mailbox with washers to trim it later if need be.

Only issue is that it takes a bit of wiggling to get the key into the lock (the key hole weather shield sticks a little).

Overall we are very satisfied with this mailbox.

I was a little disappointed to find that this mailbox is made out of plastic. I had expected something a big sturdier (like metal). It is a spacious mailbox, and aside from it being made of plastic, my other desire would be for it to open in the back to retrieve the mail, instead of in the front. However, aside from these two things, especially the first one, it is fine.

The box is not that much larger than a typical mailbox. It looks just like the picture, and so far seems weatherproof, durable, and easy to use. Very cheap for a quality locking box.

We've had our Mailgard for about 6 months. It's great if you want to be able to go away for a week and not turn off your mail. Is this a super impenetrable mail box fit for stashing your cash and jewels? No. It will not deter a determined criminal. It will, however, keep your mail out of sight, which is a good deterrant in itself, as most casual thiefs and neighborhood kids aren't going to pry it open if they don't know if something is in there.

I purchased and installed the beige colored mailguard for my parents and THEY LOVE IT! Easy assembly and easy install. They love the fact that they don't have to worry if people are looking through their mail anymore, especially if they are not able to pick up the mail for a few days. A great gift, and little piece of mind for me. A very good product.

An excellent purchase! I have been looking for something like this for a long time. I refused to buy one of those overkill metal vault mailboxes that cost so much more, look horrible and do the same. This box, looks great, holds lots of stuff and is tough. I recommend it to anyone who wants to keep other hands off your mail and don't want to spend a fortune.

If you are looking for a secure mail box and not just a "locking" mailbox avoid these guys.(...). The opening at the top is so large anyone can reach down in and grab anything the wish. I'll be creating my own soultion to make it work but....


The customer servers was of the mind that locking does not mean secure. I'll say. No help what so ever. Avoid these people.
