Superb house saver and easy set-up
Great productThis item works well and gave me peace of mind all winter while it monitored my second home on a lake on cape Cod. The company is very cooperative answering questions and getting setup. So happy I purchased it.
Simple intuitive setupI purchased this unit because we live in the Northeast where it can get pretty cold. When we travel during the winter months, I like to have the security of knowing that the heating system in our home is working properly and we are not coming home to a disaster caused by frozen pipes. The unit is so simple to set up and maintain that you will probably not even read the well written instruction manual that the unit comes with. I just plugged in the power supply, installed a 9 volt battery and plugged the unit into an available phone wall jack. I then called the unit using my cell phone and completed the programming in less than 5 minutes. The intuitive voice menu guides you through the installation in an extremely clear manner. It works well with our existing answering machine. Well worth the price of $180 that I paid.

excellent tool These vacs are definitely state of the art. I just bought the stripped down version of the Attix 8 and am very pleased with it. The bags are expensive, but with very large capacity. The machine doesn't necessarily need bags, but because I just vaccumed my new timberframe house after the hanging of drywall, I felt the bags were necessary.
Good power, low decibel motor, attachments included in price ( not extra, like some vacs), and, in general, a very sturdy machine.
For most tradespeople the simple stripped down version, (which I purchased online for $360) will suffice.
I wish that a machine of this quality was being produced in the US.

This is the top rated shop vacuum - commercial gradeI spent a month looking at everything I could to find the very best. I was interested in primarily two things; static water lift capability and the lowest sound pressure level. The Attix 10 and Attix 8 are the winners in that respect. There is no over exagerated manufacturers' ratings. Very solid. The messured average sound pressure level is 60db. I can talk to my wife while it is being used in the house without having to shout at her. The motor has bypass cooling as well. This means that the motor is always being cooled even if the hose is plugged. You DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE FILTER FOR WATER PICKUP. The main filter is washable and lasts a long time. Does not work at allI bought it brand new from Amazon and does not work. I have to return it.
Soleus Air CFM-40 E 40-Pint Dehumidifier with Humidistatlight weight & works great. Quiet. Small holding tank.
Great For NYC Apartments!I decided, just before the summer heat started, to buy only one air conditioner for my bedroom and a dehumidifier for the living room to provide some comfort. Believe it or not it works great! At least this brand does. My living room has 10' ceilings and is approximately 400 square feet (including a kitchen.) The room is still warm especially when the temperature reaches 80, but there is no discomfort. The only down side is the warm air released by unit. The living room cools off as long as I have my Vornado fan (best fan in the world) blowing cool air from the bedroom to living room.

Zircon 64003This is a excellant product, it works well and does the job that I bought it for.
Great Product! After an expensive leak, I bought one of these for each bath and one for the laundry room. About a week ago, one started going off. They are extremly loud, and would easily wake you at night. Turns out I had a very slight leak at a toilet tank connection and there was an area about 6" in diameter where the carpet was damp. Catching the problem this early saved me a lot of trouble.
Note: The current price is about 25% less than what I paid 18 months ago.

well worth the money!Bought this device over 10 years ago and it saved us from water damage numerous times; paid for itself many many times - AND it is still working just fine even after 10 years - bought two new alarms for use by other family members. Highly recommended.

Good idea, but poorly made. Would you trust it to stop a flood?Great idea for a product, but the reciever stopped working after a year. It worked when first installed, and I checked it again after a few months and everything was ok, but it has now stopped working, and, yes, I did check the obvious things like the batteries. It was not exposed to harsh conditions, or anything like that, so I can only conclude this is a seriously flawed product. Think about it, for something like this where you absolutly depend on it working when you need it, failure like this is not acceptable. Fortunately I caught the problem by testing it before there was any leak, but I will be using a different flood alarm.
Unreliable. The radio link on mine failed after 6 months, although each half tests normally by itself. I confirmed the batteries are good, codes match, etc.
It's disappointing that something as important as a water alarm would be built sloppily. This unit is made in China, which may explain the quality problem.
Nice design, when it works. We'll see if the replacement holds up any better.

Sonin 03300 Wireless Water AlarmPerfect for my needs. You can actually set multiple transmitters with the same code to trigger a single receiver, if desired. Only drawback is no AC adapter option for the transmitter.

Powerful all around vacuum for the garageWorks pretty cool sucking up lint from the dryer lint filter, sucking up stuff in the floor mats. Very loud unit, so don't expect it to be a quiet vacuum because it's not.
The attachments are great but the T nozzle isn't all that great when trying to pickup my Dalmations dog hairs from the garage floor (it pushes some of it around).
I also use it to clean out my bagless vacuum's container since that can be messy when dumping out. Also use it to pick up the kitty litter that's spilled out of the cat box.
It does what it's supposed to do. Still waiting to use it for a wet spill and see how that works out.
For the price, it's a good unit and with FREE SHIPPING you can't really go wrong.
black & decker uv1000b 10 gal utility vacI was surprised to find that a low cost vac could be so well made. Changing from vac to blower takes only a few seconds. The quality is first rate. I would recomend getting a 2.5 hose and a washable cloth bag. It's biggest drawback is being noisy. Otherwise it's a good value. P.S. I still use a 55 gal Black & Decker that's about 30 yrs. old

Good unit but answering machine a problemThis is a great unit for the price. I've used one for several years and it has worked twice to alert me to situations where my furnace was out. Very simple to use. The only issue is that you can't use an answering machine with it because to stop it from calling you requires you to call the unit and let the phone ring 16 times. Answering machines won't let you do this. So, now I'm going to buy the deluxe model which allows you to use an answering machine and has more bells and whistles.

Great product if it only worked.I bought this about 2 years ago to detect a leak from my water heater. Well, today I noticed wet carpet outside the closet where the water heater is but no alarm had gone off. I pressed the test button and it went off as expected. I then set the sensor in a pool of water and nothing. I Replaced the battery and tried again. Nothing. So the product doesn't do the one thing it's designed to do. Look elsewhere.
Worked for about 6 yearsSeemed to work for about 6 years, then the alarm sounder pooped out in 2004. It seems to still detect, but it's possible that the dust, dirt and humidity of the basement was too much for the alarm itself. I think I might try the remote - have the sensor in the basement and the actual alarm up somewhere drier and cleaner
Works great !Place the contacts where they will contact rising water and the alarm can be heard all over the house.
Put it in the sump, very pleased.
The local hardware store wanted 45 bucks for their water sensor.
The cord is plenty long enough, it's just stuffed up into the battery compartment for shipping.

Works well - When it workedI had this machine for about a year. I was very happy with the way that it worked until it just stopped. Partway thru a cycle it simply stopped and no matter what buttons I pushed it would not start again.
It was just over warranty and I saw the problems that other had had and did not bother contacting the company. Instead I contacted some local repair companies. Only one would look at it and it turned out to be a design flaw. I could replace the same part over and over as it failed or give up.
I can't afford either option so I am back to hand washing for now.
The best advice I can give is that it seems to be the water heater is too close to a control card. Try making sure you always put really hot water in the machine so that the water heater does not have to run as much. That might be how we got more than a year out of our machine.

What A HassleSet up was ok, but no instructions for the sink adapter. I got to use mine one time before the sensor thing broke. I called customer service and the woman did not know what she was talking about. She kept telling me to look for things that "are in a typical dishwasher," (that's how she described the parts when I asked what it looked like)but I have never owned another dishwasher so I didn't know what to look for. She told me to unplug it for the night and try again. It still didn't drain the water out so I called back. Another woman told me that first woman didn't know what she was talking about and that I need to drain all the water and let it dry out for 24 hours. Then instead of them fixing it I would have to return it to Amazon (even though it's under their warranty) then if the next one that came was broken I could send it back to them. I called again today because I wanted to just get it fixed and I wasn't going to send it back to Amazon. Well they don't fix these units, you have to exchange it. They would rather you exchange it back to Amazon, but if not then you have to pay for the shipping and handling and wait 2 more weeks for another dishwasher. I won't be buying anything else from Haier.
I wish I'd bought one years ago..I just bought one of these off craigslist, and I'm really glad I did. My GF does most of the cooking, so in turn, I'm in charge of the dishes. I hate washing dishes more than almost anything. So, the dishes piled up.
I hesitated for a long time..Who is Haier? Does this thing actually work? Will this machine improve my relationship??
I still don't know who Haier is, but the thing does work and it did improve my relationship. It gets the dishes as clean as any larger machine I've used, and you'll be amazed at how much you can cram in there. If there's a big mess, you just do two loads.
If you're clever, you'll just plumb the water supply into the connection under the sink, so you don't have to connect it to the end of the faucet, which renders the faucet unusable for the duration of the wash cycle.
Another feature which I had to modify is the buzzer that alerts you to the end of the cycle, among other things. First, it's obnoxiously loud, you couldn't start the machine before you went to bed because it sounds a little like a smoke alarm. Second, why do I care when the cycle is done? Have you ever heard a dishwasher do that before? So, I opened the control panel and clipped one lead off the buzzer. Now it's mute as it should be.
The "Vented Dry" feature is entirely useless, I always switch it off. The dishes are wet when it's done no matter what, but if you open the door when it's still hot, they dry quickly.

2 Pack of 64003 ELECTRONIC WATER ALARM
Made by ZIRCON INTERNATIONAL INC
Amazon base price: $
It has been a house saver. The furnace quit a week later and the unit phoned me at 1:30 in the morning to give me an alarm. The furnace technician fixed the malfunctioning furnace by 4:30 am and prevented frozen pipes. This $200 saved me thousands of dollars. The unit will also call two other phone numbers if I had not acknowledged the alarm.
The unit is easy to set up and the default settings are the right ones so there are not a lot of changes. It is great to be able to call in and get the current temperature at any time even though there is no alarm.
