Little drill that could
Wow - What a great little screwdriver!I first tried the new Skil palm-size Lithium-Ion screwdriver, but without variable speed it was worthless so I returned it. The Bosch is a much better tool - variable speed, 10 position clutch and good ergonomics. To be fair, the Bosch costs 3X more, but it is worth it.
My only nit is that the two bits that come with it are very short, making it tough to get into tight spaces. This is easily fixed with an inexpensive bit set. However, for this price it should have come with something more.

Bosch Abrasive Chop saw experienceThen I tried a masonary blade on a bullet nosed edger. That worked good. Then I tried it on a 6" by 6" by 2 3/4" concrete paver and it cut so slow I gave up on it and went to buy a 7" diamond blade for the Skill saw. I cut about 50 pavers with that blade.
I also have a Bosch 4" grinder and a Bosch Hammer Drill (with the piston inside) and really like both tools.
Very nice sawThis saw has seen some pretty extensive use and it handles all jobs with relative ease. I've used it on angle iron, round tube, square stock and 2-inch induction hardened hydraulic cylinder shaft; hard stuff!
I've used many different brands of chop saws and in all honesty, there are only minor differences between the top models. A chop saws ability to cut efficiently is VERY dependant on the blade. Most new users simply use the blade the manufacturer supplied and consider the saw flawed if it doesn't meet their expectations. My advice, try different blades and don't go cheap! Not only will a good blade cut faster, it will last longer and will be easier on the saw's motor. The above reviewer mentioned that his blade "walked" and cut into the saw's base; not the saw's fault, the blade flexed under pressure. A good reinforced blade will not do this.
All in all, I'm pleased with its performance. To sweeten the deal, my dealer threw in a 5-inch Bosch angle grinder (1711A) free. Now I guess I own two Bosch tools.

Super Blades for a Super Saw!These are highly recommended, especially if you run them in the Bosch saw!

mimi-miterBlades are relatively fragile and somewhat costly to replace..and are hard to find.
part time contractor.Need to do an undercut at a doorway? This is very easy to use.
Probably use it more often than I should, given the cost of extra blades, but it is very handy if you are doing moderate complexity remodeling or building. Have used to quickly cut drywall (put a hole through wall for air-conditioner, nice, fast way of cutting drywall), plastic pipe, undercut doors, mitre door trim (without the box actually). ...

Leaves a Silky FinishWith the 320-grit, you get an amazing, silky finish on your wood surfaces. You can stop sanding at 220-grit, but if you take another step to 320, the wood really is beautiful to the touch! I use these discs all the time on cutting boards and table tops.
I used these disks on my Bosch random-orbit sander. The hook-and-loop backing is strong and holds on through rough sanding. The aluminum oxide sanding material lasts for a good amount of time. I have bought other brands of sanding discs that do last longer, but the Mirka discs definitely hold up well.
The discs are packaged in a sturdy box with a cover, which makes it easy to dispense them as needed. Also, having them stored in a box keeps them clean, which helps the hook-and-loop function. This actually helps out a lot in the shop. Other brands come wrapped in plastic, and you have to find a container for them, or let them sit on a shelf and get full of sawdust. I appreciate this extra touch.
The paper stock is somewhat thin, but this does not really affect their use. Since they are stored in a box, they stay flat. Other brands, which are stored in bags, get curled up on the edges.
Bottom line: these are good quality sanding discs that last for a good amount of time, are a good value for the money, and are packaged in a convenient way.
Don't run out! They line up easily and are easy to attach and detach later. But they stay put while in use.
It is much easier to get a smooth finish if you step your way up through the grits. Get them all and work your way up and you will get a nice smooth finish.
I don't always go to 320 grit, but many of my projects have a more natural finish (oil, shellac and wax) so those really nice the 320 grit for a super smooth finish.
