Bosch Review GOOD FOR ROUGH CARPENTRY
I AM A FINE CARPENTER SPECIALIZING IN HIGH END KITCHEN CABINET INSTALLATIONS. I DEAL WITH ALL PRE FINISHED WOODS AND CROWN, IN OTHER WORDS....NO PUDDY!! I LOVE THE SAW AS AN IDEA FOR THE IDEAL. HOWEVER, AFTER RETURNING TWO SAWS BECAUSE THE SPINDLE HAD A WABBLE IN IT MAKING MY CUTS LOOK LIKE A PIRAHNA ATTACKED MY BOARD, I FOUND ONE WITHOUT THIS PROBLEM. IVE HAD IT FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW (JUST TRYING TO GET MY $700 WORTH OUT OF IT) NOW IM CONVINCED THAT THE CASTING OF THE BASE IS WARPED. WHEN IT READS SQUARE AT A 90 AND THEN YOU GO TO 45 IN ITHER DIRECCTION, THE BLADE IS NO LONGER PERPENDICULAR WITH THE BASE. IVE SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS WITH THE ADJUSTMENTS TO ONLY FAIL. THIS IS A GREAT SAW IF YOU ARE A FRAMER. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE PROFESSIONAL FINISH CARPENTERS, THIS SAW NEEDS TO GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD.

Bosch Review Needed work to be usable
I bought this bit to radius the edges on some douglas fir timbers for a house I'm building. I was frankly disappointed with the performance. This bit obviously takes a big bite, so I snuck up on it by running a half-inch radius cutter over the edges first. Even after taking this step, and while cutting very slow the bit still produced an unacceptable amount of tearout. I eventually had to sharpen the flat side of the carbite edge -something I'm not used to doing on a new $60 bit. This finally improved the cutting action to an acceptable level.

The other problem I had was with the guide bearing. The bearing supplied was obviously oversized by close to 1/32 of an inch. In the soft fir I was working, this left an unsightly groove along the entire length of the cut. I ended up taking off the guide bearing and installing the fence on my router instead. Again, I felt this was a sign of pretty sloppy manufacturing. I've always thought of Bosch as a higher-end outfit, but they really missed it with this one...

    Bosch Review Requires Annual Maintenance
I expect my appliances to be low maintenance. Aquastar 125B was installed 2-1/2 years ago in new construction, provides plenty of hot water for 2 low-flow showers simultaneously. Read manual when I moved into house, failed to perform annual maintenace of unit.
If you buy this product order water valve rebuild kit, you will need it.
In addition to annual maintenance the water control valve must be rebuilt every 2-5 years or a dangerous overheat condition arises. Mine currently requires rebuild. $15 in parts $30 shipping FedEx. The two set screws that connect the water control valve to the gas control valve are deterioted and frozen. The instructions say that if this condition exists, stop and call tech support as the gas control valve may be damaged. Repeated calls to tech support, more than 10, have resulted in no answer. Left messages that have not been returned. Emailed Controlled energy to get necessary parts. So far, eight days and no hot water; wife not very happy; I'm suffering.

      Bosch Review Toxic
"Though this vacuum has excellent suction. well thought out attachments, and very easy to push among many other accolades there is one glaring problem. In the user manual it states "handling the cord on this product will expose you to lead,". Well if you have children or your pregnant, well lead is a four letter word. Of corse I found this out after my pregnant wife finished rolling up the cord"

      Bosch Review Very Disappointing
I borrowed a Roto-Zip on one or more occasions and I liked it. I was very happy when I received one as a gift. I was very disappointed though when I used the cut-off attachment and I could not get the cut-off wheel off! The lock down button went in, but could not keep the unit from spinning. The plastic had parted to the side. Now I will have to go through the aggravation of getting it repaired, or even better, sending it back. Thanks for wasting my time ROTO-ZIP! I'll stick to my angle grinder.

      Bosch Review Needs Improvement
First off, tool has great attachments, many uses, a very handy tool to have, BUT... I have been through 2 in 2 years. I've done nothing outside of the intended uses for this tool. The first one I thought I over worked. I had all of the attachments and used it for alot of different jobs (sanding, grinding, cut-off wheels, tile cutting, and of course sheetrock). The second one was used only for sheetrock and a little tile cutting. Still gone!?! A friend of mine has a Roto-zip he used for daily sheetrocking that is nearing 20 yrs. old and is still going strong. These new ones need to be built better, bottom line!

Bosch Review Belts are designed for light duty only
I have burned up all of the belts that came with the sander in just one day. I have used the sander at work to grind off flashing from polymer concrete castings (similar material to a cultured marble counter top.) I was able to get about 15 minutes out of each belt before they split and had to be discarded.

I don't recommend them for industrial use. They may be good for light duty sanding of wood and other soft materials but either way, the price is way too much for an expendable item.

Bosch Review No other source for belts.
Like the other reveiwers I have a problem with the durability of the belts. I burn through quite a few of these, we own 3 of these sanders, they are the best thing for touching up coped joints. Love the sander don't like the belts.
      HEY BOSCH are you listening-

      Bosch Review break too often
these belts work OK when they work but of the first 6-8 I used, two broke as soon as I turned on the machine. If I could find another source, I would probably switch but so far I can't find this size belt in my town.

Bosch Review review of 3850 drill
Sorry that this is not a review of this drill but a spot on Bosch's good name. I have a 3850 18 volt drill that has had low use in 2 years and both batteries are shot. I wrote to Bosch about this and they returned my message thanking me for my interest in Bosch tools. I do not think that was what I wanted to hear. This is the 3 rd Bosch battery drill I have owned and first that is NO GOOD! I have a 9.6 that the orginal batteries lasted about 10 years and it is now on second set that will out perform the 18 V by about 3 to one. I had a 7.2 V that outlasted the availabilty of new batteries. It was a great tool that got loads of use. I have several other Bosch tools but this piece of junk just might end my buying any more of these tools at all. Take hede when considering their tools.

Bosch Review Great hammerdrill except for one crucial design flaw
I was at first very happy with this hammerdrill. It's well built and comes with a case & two batteries. It also has a little clip on the handle to hold a screwdriver bit - brilliant. But when I started to drill into concrete the problems began. It drilled the holes as well as the Milwaukee I had borrowed from a friend, but apparently it has a design flaw that allows concrete dust to get inside and cause the speed control mechanism to get stuck. So when I tried to switch between the two speed settings, I wasn't able to push the switch "all the way" in either direction. That meant the chuck couldn't "get in gear" which means the motor turns but the chuck doesn't. So now the drill is totally useless. It's really too bad because I know Bosch makes great tools...
