Completely satisfiedMy first DeWalt tool and I've been completely satisfied. Plenty of power and torque. Two-way level is very useful. Hand tightened chuck keeps bits locked in place without slippage (which was a concern of mine prior to purchase). Case is nice. Excellent value when compared to others. Will look for DeWalt again for my next tool purchase.
good quality, good priceThis is a great, reasonably priced drill that has plenty of power. It is not too heavy and the keyless chuck is great. This drill will satisfy most peoples' needs. I use a cordless drill most of the time and get this drill out for more demanding jobs. However, I have since purchased a 1/2 inch chuck hammer drill for even bigger jobs and drilling in concrete. In retrospect, I could have skipped buying the DeWalt, but it is still a great drill.
500+ sq ft subfloor later...put down over 500 sq ft of subfloor in one day with this drill - got a little warm at times, but certainly kept right up.

Warning on PortabilityYOU CANNOT GET THE SAW THROUGH A 30" DOOR WHEN MOUNTED ON THE STAND. Everything else is great. So what? I can't move it to the basement, from the garage into the house, into my storage room. The width is 29" at the wheels. Sounds good - if any of my doors opened 180 degrees and didn't have stop molding. In practice 27.5" should have been the design width they worked within. That should not have been difficult given the saw width is 25".
And don't think you can just turn it side ways and slide it through. With the stand and blade guard installed (both require tools to remove), the profile is more than 29". You can wiggle it through but I doubt the plastic blade guard will survive too many attempts. The whole assembly is also very heavy and awkward when trying this.
Don't underestimate how important this is. Only my front door is greater than 30 inches. Every other door is 30".

Second purchase, different purpose. This will be my second stand, as I purchased the Bosch saw/stand combo a few years ago. The new stand will replace a mickeymouse thing now under my 10" Bosch comp.miter saw. I was looking at the Rigid MSUV table for the miter, and I'm sure it's a fine unit. But since I'm not encumbered by time, and I have lightweight portable supports, I didn't really need the on-board roller supports. And I'm very pleased with the stability and ease of set-up of the Bosch table. Besides, it's less money now than the Rigid and Amazon doesn't sell the Ridgid (not now, anyway). I'll probably have to adapt the miter hole patterns to the new saw frame, but that's minor stuff. I know how well the table saw gets around on this base, so it didn't make sense to go to something different and wind up disappointed. It really is a very well designed base!
Bosch TS2000 Gravity-Rise Wheeled Table Saw Stand with Universal Mounting SlotsThis is my second purchase of this item and I am well pleased. It is easy to assemble and easy to operate. I now own 4 of these stands and would rate them high above any other similar item on the current market regardless of price. It is very sturdy, balanced, and well designed.

Needs to have a 52" fence optionI wish I could add another 5 * review as I'm a fan of DeWalt tools, but I have a problem with this base. The base is "supposed" to work with the 52" table saw base, but compromises have to be made.
1) No matter how you adjust the legs, you must shim the legs on the 52" table. There is not enough play in the adjustments to do otherwise. As a result, if you have to move the saw around and your floor is less than level (whose isn't), you will have SOME degree of twisting of the extension table relative to the main table.
2) When you do move the saw with the extension table, ONLY the saw is supported. The table is not. So you have a 52" MDF table and it's hardware being supported by it's attachment points along one narrow edge of the extension table.
As a result, I may look into selling mine and buying an HTC design which supports both the table and the saw.

This is not an option, it is a necessity! At the time I bought my DW746 table saw Amazon was offering this base as an added bonus (for the same price). If I had to order this thing separately, I probably would have tried to make something less expensive work for me. I am so glad that I have this base instead!
What I like about this product:
1. This thing is STOUT. The construction of this base is very heavy duty. Although my DW746 is a heavy beast, I am sure the base would handle much more weight than I am throwing on it with this saw.
2. The lift pedal mechanism works very smoothly. Another reviewer describes this base as having a tendency to 'drop' the saw when you are lowering the foot pedal. I noticed the same thing on the demo model I looked at in a Woodcraft store. Mine however does NOT seem to do this yet. I don't know if DeWalt tweaked it to fix the problem or I just got lucky...
3. I appreciate the fact that this base allows you to bolt the legs of the saw right to it - giving the saw cabinet even more stiffness and strength.
4. Once you have depressed the foot pedal, this thing smoothly and easily rolls the saw wherever you want it. Tight turns and small debris on the floor do not seem to pose a problem for this base.
What I don't like:
1. The price. Actually mine was included in a package deal, so I have no complaints. However, if I had to go buy the thing I would be chafing at the price.
A PIECE OF ADVICE:
If you buy this at the same time as you buy the DW746 saw remember this. The saw is shipped upside down in the crate. Assemble the base and attach it to the saw legs BEFORE you turn the saw right side up. Otherwise it is a real bear for two people to set the saw on the base while trying to line-up the bolts that attach legs to base...
Overall observations:
This is a very high quality product that you really will need and use all of the time if you buy it. I cannot say that you will be happy with the price tag, but once you make the investment you will never regret owning this accessory!

Sweet, but...I shopped (data and spec-wise)around for this style of tool and finally decided on the DeWalt 14.4v. As a professional cabinet installer for 4 national manufacturers, I rely on my tools for my income and my high quality reputation million dollar plus homeowners demand. I think I have every DeWalt 14.4v tool made. Even a DeWalt 14.4 bisquet joiner. I like the professional grade 14.4v because it is light enough to use all day long and because most pro grade 14.4v drivers and drills won't "over torque" the screws. I know most contractors like the 18 volt, and I agree for circular trim and recip saws. But, the 18's can take me all the through a cabinet and the outside wall of the house before I can let go of the trigger (not a good thing). I have a couple Bosch 18 volt for heavy drilling in concrete, but all the DeWalt 14.4's have more that enough power to take a 2-1/2" hole saw thru a 2x4 or neatly drill a 1-1/4" forcner bit into hickory and still break off the heads of screws if you want! Back to the DeWalt 14.4 volt IMPACT DRIVER. A really sweet tool and drives the screw straight and slightly countersunk without splitting face frames or braking the heads off the screws. Well balanced, nice weight for all day use on a single charge (XRP) but, a bit loud (actually they all are). BUT...Unfortunately, I only had the tool for about 10 days before it and all the rest of my DeWalt 14.4 tools (all neatly placed in thier cases with xtra batteries and chargers)and a couple brand new XRP batteries, were stolen. %#@!*&^$%$!!! I had to replace this new tool immediately and local resources had none (DeWalt 14.4 any way). So, I ended up with a Makita 14.4v (it was my orginal 2nd choice) and I can tell you, I liked the DeWalt better. The quick release is much smoother for single finger releases (the Makita actually takes two hands to change a bit), slightly quieter and felt better in hand than the Makita. The flat bottom of 14.4 battery held it upright and stable on inclined surfaces. Suffice it to say, the impact driver is THE tool for driving screws, and the DeWalt 14.4v is the front runner in my opinion.
Noisy, but strongI was a bit skeptical about this tool after I purchased it, and I took a lot of ribbing at the jobsite because of its size and the noise it made, but after it drove 4 inch wood screws into a door frame they shut up. It takes a little getting used to if you want to us it to fasten drywall, but it isn't hard. You also go through a lot of bits because it is so powerfull it shatters them. You also have to buy a chuck if you want to drill with it.
For the money, I don't think I have ever bought a better drill/screw gun. We burn out a lot of drills on the jobsite and when I finally wear this on out I will definately buy another to replace it.

A dream to useI had recently used a friend's DeWalt 12v impact driver (and loved it), so when I had the opportunity to pick this 14.4v driver up cheap I jumped at the chance. I expected great things from this tool and I have not been disappointed.
Whenever I can't get good leverage on my regular 14.4v DeWalt drill/driver it tends to strip the screw heads towards the end of the drive. Not so with this baby. If you are starting with a new or undamaged screw, this driver will sink it into anything short of concrete without stripping the head. Other benefits include the small size of the driver itself and a really nifty chuck device.
As for downsides: You hear this a lot, but when this thing goes into "impact mode" it is loud. If you happen to be in a small room such as a bathroom you will really notice how loud it is. Also, you have to use hex headed bits and drivers with this thing, and that could lead to a bit of expense if you don't have any already.
Before buying this impact driver I was in a pretty common situation. I already owned a 14.4v drill/driver and had to wonder if I needed this one too. I am sure a lot of people who will read this review are in the same boat. My answer to this is yes and no. You can get by forever with just a drill/driver, so you don't NEED this tool. But speaking from a convenience point of view, once you buy this and cease to strip screw heads no matter what material you are screwing into, and once you get used to applying about 1/4 of the pressure that a drill/driver takes, you will love this tool forever.
I made sure that my drill/driver and my impact driver were of the same voltage so they could share batteries and now use the drill for drilling (duh) and the impact driver for driving and spend a lot less time swapping back and forth between drill bits and driver bits.
I highly recommend this as a well made and high performing tool.

This is the best little tool!I bought this scissors to use for cutting recycled clothing into rags for our job shop. In recent years I've found my hands won't take that kind of repetative work for any length of time without pain, so I went searching for a tool that would spare my aging hands. I chose Black and Decker's version of the electric scissors because of the company's reputation and because their scissors included a mounting bracket, making it possible for me to mount the scissors on a table and "feed" the material through it, effortlessly cutting it to whatever shape and size desired. I am SO IMPRESSED with the quality and power of this scissors, in such a small pkg and at such a reasonable price, that I've already decided to give it to several people on my list next Christmas. Wheather for heavier cutting jobs or light weight household chores, if you're looking for an excellent general purpose electric scissors, I don't believe you can go wrong with Black and Decker's Cordless Power Scissors. Every household should have at least one!
Black and Decker Cordless Power ScissorsThese are the greatest thing since sliced bread! I make purses out of heavy upholstery fabric, and these have saved my hands. They zip through any thickness without hesitation and came with a second scissor blade with a flat bottom just for fabric. The different scissor blades (there are two) snap off and on, don't make the mistake I did and try to unscrew them to change them...duh...I love these things. I would buy them again and again and again. They are easy to control, you can even cut sideways! I used to use a rotary cutter but these have sped up my work by at least 100%.
Fan-tab-ulousI am speachless. They cut out the armhole of a childs size 2 garment or 3 pair of denim shorts at once. Can't say more than that!

I'll save the fifth star for later...Having used many different brands of cordless drill/drivers over the past 15 years, I was curious about this new wave of impact drivers. I had the chance to use this DeWalt driver (a friend's) and I can report that I was extremely impressed with it. In all fairness, this isn't a comparison since I have never used any of the competitor's impact drivers, but the DeWalt was more than I thought it would be.
Power - there's all you would ever want here. I was driving 3" screws into treated lumber and quickly noticed two things. The driver didn't hesitate while driving the screws home and compared to my standard drill/driver I had to apply much less pressure on the rear of the gun to keep the bit from slipping on the screw head.
Size/Weight - You don't notice how much a good drill/driver weighs until you use something like this that is more powerful and yet weighs less. Though the size is tiny compared to what I am used to, it doesn't feel unnaturally so.
Value - though this is probably the best tool I have ever used to drive a screw, it is expensive so the vaulue per dollar isn't what it could be. If I were starting from scratch on a collection of tools, I would think seriously about this one. As it is, I already have two DeWalt drill/drivers and will probably not justify replacing them at this cost.
Overall, this is a great tool that I feel justifies the impact driver craze that is currently going on. If you build decks for a living, run to buy one of these. If you are a weekend warrior, get more bang for your buck by getting a good deal on a 12-14.4 volt drill/driver instead...

Fast and TorqueyThis tool is great. It has high speed (~2200 rpm) until you need high torque, and then it has that too. I use it for almost everything rotary from 1.5" spade bits to little twist drills to driving big screws. It has most of the torque and speed of the 18V unit yet it is small and light and compact. I've owned battery operated drills for ~25 years and this impact driver is a big leap forward. The only issue I have with these is that they are NOISY.
Great for around the houseI remodelled my deck last summer, and used this to fasten the new decking (5/4" x 6" Trex boards). With a fresh charge, I found I could drive about 50 2-1/2" composite deck screws, with no predrilling, before the battery needed recharging. It's not the ideal tool for someone who does this professionally, but it worked great for me. Since then, it has come in handy for dozens of things around the house. In particular, it's very good at driving Tapcon concrete screws. The impact action produces a great deal of torque for its small size, but it lacks a clutch, which makes it easy to twist the heads off screws. That aside, it has lived up to all of my expectations, so I think it merits 5 stars.

Dewalt is good butDewalt is good but why does Amazon have to bait us and mislead by its claim of a higher retail price of 189.00. It sells everywhere at no more than 99.00
Great gun!Several years ago I retired my corded Makita drywall gun which I had used for years and bought the DeWalt DW272. Since then I have hung my share of drywall and this gun is fast and reliable! The 'dial-up' depth setting is simplicity itself and never faulters. The gun is light; powerful; well balanced; and rugged. For the average homeowner's drywall needs, this gun is all that he/she needs.
I recently purchased the DeWalt DC520 18v drywall gun (which can be very pricey), because I hate dragging around a cord. But for the overhead work I still grab the DW272! This is a fabulous screw gun for the money! If you are in the market for a corded drywall gun, get it, you won't be sorry.

DW272 gunGotta agree with others who find this one of the best, easiest to use guns out there. I gave up on my Porter Cable gun after 2 switches gave out ($45 ea). This gun is comfortable and lightweight. 5 stars!

Great add-on for your saw at a super deal of a priceI have been wanting to get these cast iron wings for my saw since the first day I bought it but there have been other priorities so I waited. Now that I got them, I am sorry that I did not do so much earlier. The wings are perfectly flat and fit the main saw top very nicely and perfectly level. They add quite a bit of weight to the saw which is good even for an already great and smooth running saw.
One word of warning to anyone who wants to upgrade to the 52" fence is that the 52" fence kit comes with an extension table that mounts to the saw table itself so you have to remove the wing on the right side. I bought two wings at the same time as the 52" fence kit and now I have an extra wing hanging around.

Only way to go..I've had my DW746 a couple of years now and mounted the cast iron wings as soon as I could get them after the initial purchase. The purchase price does seem a little high, but you will not regret the expenditure. Besides assuring you a flat, level playing field, the wings provide the extra weight that makes the saw more stable, and even further dampens the little vibration this saw creates. The fit and finish are very nice, and install is pretty simple and straight forward. Recommend two sets of hands for this job. I check my wings periodically, usually when I do my regular maintenance to the saw, for level and flush to the table, and they have never moved since installation. I clean them with a med grit sanding sponge, wipe em with denatured alcohol and apply a coat of Top Cote a couple times a year. This is a great addition to an already great saw.
Highly recommend.

Its not easy money to spend, but spend it anyway...I have had the DeWalt 746 for a few months now, and I have been slowly adding accessories as I needed/could afford them. With a router table wing mounted on the left side, I chose to go ahead and put this wing on the right.
The wing shipped in good time and arrived undamaged. I was able to unpack and install it properly in about 25 minutes. Leveling it was not hard - in fact I was able to mount it by myself. The surface is blemish free and flat (within acceptable tolerances). No cast iron is "perfectly" flat", and neither the DeWalt saw table or this wing are either, but they are within a few thousandths...
Basically what I am saying is that this wing is worth buying. If you are like me and you are buying it after the fact, it will be hard to justufy spending the money when you could just get by with the steel wing, but then who wants to "just get by"?
Buy it, you won't regret it ever.

Planer Dust HoodThe Dust Hood was exactly what I expected, was packed well and delivered as promised--Thank you. bogie sends
This one is METAL...I have two DW733 planers. I bought one new and it came with a plastic hood. Nice because you could just snap it on and off. But it would sometimes fall off from the vibration. I ordered this hood for my 2nd planer which I bought used and didn't come with a hood. Much nicer! Screws on SOLID and won't vibrate off. Ok, so you have to unscrew it to access the knives...but how often is that done anyways?
why did i wait ????i just hooked this hood up to my planer and shop vac and ran a cedar board through from 3/4 to 1/2 inch .the amount of shavings it didnt collect was negligable compared to the deluge of shavings i used to sweep up,the hood is made of steel and installs easily with the screws supplied.as i previously stated,,,why did i wait so long to get this??? i highly reccommend this item.
