DeWalt Review Outstanding performer
I have this 30" fence rail system installed on my DeWalt DW746 tablesaw, and I could not be happier with it. Though I have always wanted a Biesemeyer, I cannot complain about the perfect performance this rail has given me. The tubular steel construction is immensely strong. The fence glides easily along its length and locks down solidly with zero deflection. The only thing about this fence rail system that I would change is the fence itself, not the rail (I do still wish for the Biesemeyer's easy ability to accept jigs onto its square shape). As for this rail, it is well worth buying if you don't already have one, but it would be a better option to just buy the saw package with the rail included...

DeWalt Review Just about a perfect package
After 13 years, I decided it was time to upgrade from my Ryobi BT3000. After much research, and fondling every brand I could get my hands on, I bought this saw package from Amazon.

I could not be happier with the result. The basic DW746 saw plus the sliding table and super trick miter gage and cast iron extension wing make a package nobody else can touch for price and features. This saw is quiet, vibration free and as powerful as you can get from a 110 volt motor. I don't have a machinist's
ruler to gage table flatness, but I do have a Lie Neilsen #7 jointer plane that is dead nuts flat, and setting the plane tilted on edge on the table shows the table flat in all directions within .005".

Be advised this saw does not fall into my defininition of portable. It's one heavy puppy. It took two of us to wrestle the basic saw down to the basement. I was able to get the cast iron extension on by myself, but I could not even pick up the sliding table by myself, much less install it on the table.

Also, this package comes with instructions for putting the basic saw together, and separate instructions for putting on the sliding table. DO NOT start with the instructions for putting the basic saw together like I did. After I spent three hours getting the front and rear rails on and level, I had to completely disassemble EVERYTHING because the sliding table has a bunch of parts that must go on first. If you begin assembly following the instructions for installing the sliding table, you will get it right the first time.

DeWalt Review Well worth the price!
I installed a Pergo Select floor in my living and dining room--approximately 275 square feet with a lot of cuts. Needless to say, I wanted the best blade I could find. Pergo suggested a carbide tipped, 60 - 80 blade. At first, I turned away from the Dewalt because of the price. After spending over $1500 on the floor, I really did not feel like spending another [price] on the blade. Therefore, I shopped around and around. Then I came back to the Dewalt. I figured why not. They offer a thirty day money back policy and the specs. were right on with what Pergo suggested.
I must say, the cuts from this blade are as good as the factory cuts on the Pergo flooring. After cutting dozens of boards, I have yet to see one chip on either the usable floor or the waste. As far as I am concerned, it was money well spent.
Moreover, it chews through other material such as birch and oak with ease. I would highly recommend this blade to anyone searching to do fine woodworking. I can't imange finding a blade that offers better cuts--over and over and over again. That is all I have to say.

DeWalt Review Quality at savings!
OK, so this isn't a Forrest with an ultra-quiet action. But that doesn't mean it shreaks and whines, either.

Kerf is 1/8" plus your run-out. Teeth are 4 ATB followed by a raker. The racker doesn't quite come to the same height as the ATB teeth, so you wind up with a cut that looks something like a V with the bottom angle flattened out. Or, if you like, a W without the center peak. Not a problem on through cuts, but for groove or rebate cuts you won't get a flat bottom in the groove.

The only negative I've seen is that on rips, you don't quite get a no-sand cut. But then, this is a combo blade, right?

For cross-cuts, I don't notice any difference between this and the DeWalt smooth cross-cut blade. I also don't notice any difference with the Forrest, either, other than this is just a tad louder. No burn. No overload. No wobble. No warp. No vibration.

Sharpening is perhaps a problem right now, as there are no local shops that deal with DeWalt's blade angles. Of course, they're willing to regrind to something close but a little different. I'm not willing to gamble that I'll get the same results however, so Iv'e just sent mine off through the mail to the national DeWalt sharpening service. Ordered a second one so I'll have it to use while the first is being resharpened.

I can't find any disappointments with this blade. It will slice a 1/32 sliver off either side with no breakage. Provided its a cross-cut, there's no sanding needed, either. (YMMV; a quality table saw with minimum run-out, splitter and highly tuned fence will always affect your bottom line).

DeWalt Review Lasts and lasts
I work in a school district maintenance shop. We do all kinds of projects with all kinds of wood. We needed a blade that was a standard kerf (not thin kerf) that would take the use and abuse we give. We have had the blade for a year now after seeing it at a Woodworking show and then ordering it from Amazon.com. The blade still cuts true and since it is a standard kerf we haven't seen any deflection on cuts. You can spend another $50 and buy those blades that you have to send back to the manufacturer to have sharpened but I don't see that much difference.

DeWalt Review The Best Value on the Market!
This is DeWalt's finest general purpose blade and has got to be the best value on the market. With blades of this caliber, it's possible to get excellent results with one blade on most cuts and materials. Savvy owners swear by the DW7657's performance, including many who have also used the famous top rated Forrest WWII 40T blade, which is well known as an industry icon. The DW7657 is uncannily similar in design to the WWII, (C4 micrograin carbide tipped teeth, alternating top bevel grind, aggressive 20 degree hook angle, superior construction quality) and delivers predictably similar results...clean, smooth, polished cuts on a wide variety of materials and thicknesses. I'm a staunch supporter of the venerable Forrest blade, but am extremely impressed with the DW. Woodworking magazines have done comparison tests between the DW7657 and the WWII and found the 7657 delivers remarkeably similar performance to the Forrest at close to half the cost. I agree with their findings and so do many others who've tried both blades. If you balk at spending $100 on a saw blade, give serious consideration to this worthy contender from DeWalt. Over the years I've gotten pretty spoiled with some excellent blades. IMHO this one deserves a place along side the elite 40T general purpose blades from Forrest WWII, Ridge Carbide TS2000, Tenryu Gold Medal, and Freud F410.

DeWalt Review The third and best grinder
I had the opportunity to get myself in deep (up to my ears) in a welding project and needed a grinder. Well as it turns out this is the third grinder I have had to buy and it is by far the best. My first grinder was a cheap chinese unit that SCREAMED loudly and didn't last. The second unit was a Ryobi unit available from your local home improvement center, quiet and smooth but with a fatal flaw that was a consant problem, when you set it down it hits the power switch and turns on momentarily flying all over the place, at 10000 RPM this is a problem. The switch failed mercifully and I gladly threw it away. This Ryobi angle grinder did not last very long, another Made in China wonder. Speaking of switches that brings us back to the Dewalt unit which has a safety latch on the switch, that works very well. It's quiet, safe, and made in America. Oh by the way, ALLWAYS use ear and eye protection when grinding and cutting metal!

DeWalt Review Great grinder!!
I am the sort of person who is very meticulous, and I would rather have one well made tool than a dozen cheap ones. Having said this I must say that I am thoroughly impressed and pleased with the DW824 grinder. It has good balance, A LOT of power, and is made to last. I especially like the quick-adjust guard, this makes it really convenient to use when grinding at different positions. The extra long cord all but eliminates the need for an extension cord, and the power in this small package is awesome!! I have yet to bog the motor down!! I looked high & low at all other grinders of this size (4 1/2" & 5") and I feel that this one beats the others hands down. I would heartily recommend this grinder to anyone.

DeWalt Review A perfect tool for non-ferrous metals
This tool is great.Perfect for ferrous and non ferrous metals.Makes a small kerf with an fairly easy to guide blade.Cuts stainless steel pipe clean and accurate. No need in getting out the Plasma arc when you own this tool, unless you are cutting a large length of plate. The only downside is it uses up abrasive wheels fast like any other abrasive wheel.
