DeWalt Review Smooooooth.
I put this on my new DeWalt 12-Volt Trim Saw and cut some pieces of 3/4" plywood. It was so smooth, it felt like it was pulling itself through. No resistance at all. Tear-out was minimal, too. A big difference from the blade that came with the saw.

DeWalt Review 5 inch dics sanding
I have tried several brands of sanding disc with poor results. Mirka sand fast with very little clogging in fact it works so well you can use the next finer grit with less stress on the sander. I prefer PSA V/S hook & loop.

DeWalt Review It's a bargain, considering how long it lasts
When I first bought my Bosch 3727DVS, I bought a box of the popular grades; 80, 100, 120, 150, 180, 220, and 320. The 100, 120, and 150 are the most frequently used.To tell you the truth, I rarely use the 320. I just went through over 50 boards of 80+ inch cedar, in three grades, and I only used about 10 sheets all combined. That is about 3 for each grade. The advantage to quality paper, is that you can get in a groove with some consistency. Instead of having cheaper paper that gives you the new disc agressiveness, then quickly to the used paper smoothness, which may be a grade finer, and miss the deeper lines from the coarser grade of paper in the previous step. Additionally the backing paper is stiff enough to do the job. That way you don't wind up with a buggered edge on your sander. The 6 hole paper is nice for the dust free environment. I simply attach a 2 1/2" vac hose to the dust port on my Bosch, which is way smaller than that, so a lot of air escapes. The vacuum draw that leaks around the inlet, sucks up that last 1% of the dust coming off the paper. It is still recommended to wear a mask because the shop vacs only capture to a micron or so. So technically you have a vac system that is actually a mini-part of a micron, invisible dust manufacturing plant. Over time, even that is a consideration. A good respirator, not a paper mask is advisable. A fresh air system is even better.
I had a body shop for 20 years, and after using the cheaper paper on the random orbit sanders, and winding up with a floor full of used paper, I can attest to the savings of using quality, aluminum oxide paper. It is actually cheaper, in addition to doing a better job. Highly recommended.

DeWalt Review Nice paper, Lasts long, best reults

The 220 produces the glass smooth look. To tell you the truth, I rarely use the 320. Local home centers sell the 5" variety, so if you are enjoying the additional cutting surface of a 6 inch, this is one of the best places to stock up.

DeWalt Review A great addition to any Plunge Router
This is a great accessory for plunge routers. It works perfectly in conjuction with a Woodrat machine, but it is also great for router tables and stand alone plunge routing. I was able to very quickly and easily install it onto my Dewalt 625 and it has worked flawlessly ever since. Put a touch of synthetic grease on the two points where the lower bar and upper bar touch and the action will be friction free and easy to control. A superb item and another wonderful innovation from a great company.

DeWalt Review Didn't stand up well.
After 3 years of occasional use and a larger than usual amount of repairs, I would rate this planer fair.

I used this planer for mostly hardwoods such as Oak and Maple. I never planed more than 1/16" at one pass on boards ranging from 2" wide up to 12" wide. The wider the board, the less I took off.

I started having problems with feeding short boards into the inlet. The planer appeared to be having problems when the board would make contact with the exit roller. That is when the board would stop for a split second and then be forced forward again by the intet roller.

This uneven feed caused the gear sprockets to break a tooth on the chain drive. The breaks in the sprocket would be specific to the valley area of the gear and would split the sprocket in half causing planer failure. Over the last 3 years I have replaced all the original gear sprockets with newer ones.

Last week I found a hairline crack in the left head area where the motor rests. I believe this hairline fracture opens when a board is being planned causing the jumping.

I have decided to part this machine out and have moved on to a DW734 planer.

This planer had enough power to get the job done, but I believe it has design issues.

DeWalt Review If a woodchuck could chuck wood
I like this planer just fine. However I must admit that this is the only one I have ever used. I had a friend who had a maple tree fall in his yard. We went our and ripped about 40, 12" x 30" x 3" blocks with our chain saws. (without a ripping chain). The blocks were in terrible shape. I have run these through this planner and now have 40 pieces of 1" x12"x30 beautiful marbled maple. I had to run each piece through about 20- 25 times to get all the chain saw marks out. So I would guess that is about 2500 board feet of nasty rock hard maple. NO PROBLEM. This thing is like a ginsui knife, I took one of the pieces and ran it through to see how fine I could finish it, a buddy of mine needed a custom size cutting board for his kitchen cabinet. I hardly need to sand it when I was done. The one problem I had was when I bought it the screw that holds the handle on was not long enough and I stripped the hole, but it stays on with gravity just fine. I Also would like two speeds, as with most of my reviews this is my fault for not spending the money.

DeWalt Review Great Litte Machine!
You will be hard pressed to find a planer that will do a better job than this DW733. Set up was a snap, maybe an hour to remove from the box and double check all adjustments. If you do the basics - keep knives sharp, in and out tables adjusted properly and provide support for long pieces - this machine will give you great results. Snipe is minimal to non-existant. The dust hood & my 650cfm dust collector eliminates 95% of all chips.

DeWalt Review Great stand needed work
Love this stand from the time I saw it but was unable to find the wheels. I found the perfect wheels on a craftsman generator which I replaced with a wheel kit and used the numatic ones on my dewalt stand. It is sturdy slightly heavy but with wheels just what I need when working alone. Did I mention it was very sturdy, sets up fast, anyone ought to be able to figure out the wheel thing. I really like it.

DeWalt Review Buy the DeWalt ....Forget the Bosch
I just received my DW723 Miter Saw Stand from UPS. Setup is opening the box and unfolding the legs and clicking in place. I LOVE IT. I bought the Bosch 4212L and thought I would buy the Bosch stand until I read that it can take hours to assemble. That was it for me. Buy the DeWalt, you'll love it.

DeWalt Review One important defect in design and one lesser convenience item.
I have been an electrical contractor for over 35 years. I have experimented with many powered screw drivers as they became available. This DeWalt 920K is quality built like their other cordless tools. What I don't like is that the bit holding mechanism most often spits out the bit when you try to push it into a ladder top tool holder hole or into your pouch with other tools. Very poor holder as compared to the Panasonic cordless impact driver that I always use just as frequently on installations. Also, the forward/reverse should be more accessible and easier to operate for one handed operation. A forward/reverse all in one rocker switch would be ideal, like the Black & Decker cheaper version with the LED light on it. The switch locking feature is nice for when tool is bunched in with other tools for transport. Of course the power of this DeWalt makes me want to use it instead of the B&D.

DeWalt Review No Longer the Front-runner
I have had this tool for over a year. I bought it because the inline screwdriver had some advantages due to its weight, size, and flexibility over my 18-volt DeWalt RAD and 18-volt DeWalt drill/driver, both of which I had previously used exclusively for a year and a half on small and large projects alike. I would never have guessed how many times I found myself grabbing this instead of my trusted 18-volt tools. The build quality is top-notch (less a few crooked labels and loosely clamping case clasps) and the torque and lasting power of the batteries were both excellent. The quick-change keyless chuck is a pleasure to use.

It was the perfect tool for installing an over-the-range microwave. At times I needed to swivel the head to secure screws in hard-to-reach areas, and at other times I required a good amount of torque and delicate speed control. The tool provided both effortlessly.

During recent projects, however, I found myself requiring a more compact bend radius than this tool would allow. I actually had to use hand tools to finish the job! All joking aside, this added another 10 minutes to each task and several trips back and forth from my basement. I realized that I needed a more compact in-line screwdriver that could swivel 90 degrees and could operate in very tight spaces. I had to wait some time because what I wanted didn't exist. Then I came across the new Bosch PS10-2 Litheon 10.8 Volt Lithium-Ion I-Driver Kit.

The Bosch I-Driver can articulate 90 degrees, has only a 3.5 inch head length, is rated at 80 in-lbs of torque, and is powered by lithium ion batteries. The only down-sides are that it is pricey at $150 (a little better at $135 with Amazon's current 10% sale on power tools), comes with a soft case as opposed to a hard plastic case, and has not been rigorously field tested and reviewed by honest Amazon.com customers.

I do not regret purchasing the DeWalt in-line screwdriver. It was the best of its kind on the market at the time, and until recently, it had been my tool of choice for small to moderate-scale and close-quarter tasks. The DeWalt in-line screwdriver is still the best value at $100, but if you are looking for an ultra-compact in-line and right angle drill/driver that is powered with more advanced lithium ion batteries, you may want to look at the Bosch I-Driver. I'll let you know how it performs when I get one.

DeWalt Review Best of the best
This is a great product to have around the house. It has amazing power. It keeps my 18 Volt in its case. Great for small projects. My father-in-law loved it so much that he had to buy one.
