Must have for a mitre sawSuch a simple clamp, but makes handling the workpiece much easier and safer. Much better than the type that simply pushes from the front of the mitre saw against the fence. Very sturdy, and holds very tight. The swivel arm aids in getting the clamp exactly where you need it.
Better than what comes with the sawI recently purchased the Dewalt DW318 SCMS and ordered this clamp at the same time. I was disappointed when I compared the clamp that came with the saw with this one. The stock clamp has a smaller knob on the top for tightening against the work piece, and only the DW7082 has the quick release button to quickly raise or lower it. The stock clamp does have a bolt on the back of the arm that can lower it on the leg, but the fence of the saw only allows 1/4" of play unless it's slid out of the way. Originally I only ordered one DW7082 clamp knowing that the saw would already come with a clamp, but after comparing the two side by side, I ordered a second DW7082 and put the stock clamp aside. To invest in the saw and not have accessories that perform the way I want them doesn't make sense to me.
The DW7082 is the topsI'm a residential contractor. I bought one with my original SCMS purchase over a year ago. Ever since wished I had a second one ... so I finally did it. Now I won't have to switch the one around (I usually like it on the intake), and also I can hold both sides of my work at once when I need.
It is well made and easy to use. And it is a great help when cutting hardwood or AZEK, both of which tend to move spontaneously while cutting.

Great saw with minor improvement aheadYou pretty much know how it is from other reviews. There are only couple of things I like to add from my experience using it. I wish the table top is wider to cover the legs, so when attaching things that are not as thin as the table top itself, the legs and frames will not get in the way. I need to make something to fill the gaps when attaching the extension table and sliding table (of course not DeWalt sliding table), because I can bring them to make direct contact to the table top. I also wish the dust port is straight instead of angled one.
Great overall but has severe fence problemsI've had the saw for several months now and feel I've used it sufficiently to give an accurate review. The saw performs very well in most respects. It's very beefy construction and well made. I have mine wired for 220V and it has plenty of power even when ripping oak.The blade that came with the saw is good quality. The sliding miter table is really nice, allowing me to cross cut wide panels I used to cut with a straight edge and clamps setup. The miter guage is good quality and has a cam type adjuster that's a little touchy but works ok. The size of the table and extention are great, giving plenty of room for large projects with nice stability. It's nice to grab a sheet of plywood and run it through without worrying about it tipping off the table.
Mine did have a few problems though, some minor, one not so minor. The front fence rail tape measure came installed incorrectly. When the fence was against the blade, the indicator read 1 1/4" instead of 0 as it should have. A call to DeWalt customer service had a new front rail to me in a week or so. One of the wheels of the mobile base had the bolt whole drilled off center and caused it to wobble. It was replaced as well. I've recently discovered that the throat plate is warped at the outfeed end, fence side. It tips in toward the blade. This comes into play only when cutting narrow, short pieces or cutting on edge. The piece tends to tilt away from the fence and in toward the blade at the end of a cut. I haven't called about this problem yet.
The saw has a couple of design problems too. The wrench hanger is positioned up high on the front of the saw and behind the front fence rail. I have to lean down or crouch down to see the pin to retrieve or replace the wrenchs. The on/off switch has a nice feature. It's large and positioned so I can hit it with my knee to turn the saw off. I've used that feature many times. It's a bit harder to turn it on though. The switch, like the wrench hanger, is positioned high and behind the front rail so it can't be seen easily.
The most severe problem is the fence. DeWalt has done such a nice job with quality materials in the rest of the saw, but really scrimped on the fence. The fence beam is light guage metal and distorts if I'm not careful when tightening the face. The face is extruded aluminum which is ok, but the one on my saw was warped. I was unable to get the face adjusted 90 degrees to the table. When I called DeWalt they acknowledled they were aware of the problem and sent me a shim kit. I was unable to adjust the face properly even with the kit. DeWalt then sent a new fence beam and face. This, with the shim kit, got the face adjusted ok. It's still not perfect, but it's usable. The face still has a problem though. The first 4-5" of it are out of line with the rest of it. I have to be careful when I start a cut to place the piece in 4-5" on the face to avoid starting my cut out of line. When I called DeWalt customer service on this one I was given the location and phone # of a nearby service center to contact. I haven't done that yet. I must say, DeWalt was very responsive to every call I made. They must recieve kudos for their customer service.
I bought this saw after comparing and considering the Delta Unisaw. Some factors I considered were the sliding table DeWalt offered and the lower price. The Delta's 3hp motor was a major attraction to me but in the end I bought the DeWalt because of a promotional offer of $100 off. Although I am not dissapointed in the power of the DeWalt, the problems I've encountered would give me pause to make the same choice again.

robust and accurateI am extremely happy with this saw. I purchased the DW746KB package. The 52" rails, sliding table, and side table all perform superbly. However,.... if you plan to buy this package, spend 5 to 6 hours deciphering four intersecting manuals while assembling and aligning, and then trust it all to a mobile base, maybe your missing the point!
This is a robust machine, and begs to be bolted to the floor. Mine is firmly anchored to the floor in my shop. Your spending this kind of money(or considering it) because you want durability and consistent reliability. Who cares if the cast table is out 16/1000s, when you keep rolling the equipment into the same "sinkhole" you call "flat", in the only part of the garage your wife doesn't "really need". Commit! Wired for 220v, This is a very smooth running, quiet, powerful saw. Crosscut accuracy is exceptional. Do yourself a favor, dedicate some space for this saw, install it ,and save the mobile base for something you didn't spend $ and hours of setup time on.

worth every pennyIf your saw never leaves your shop, this is ideal. Built well and easy to assemble, I am very happy with this purchase. THe stand is very portable and folds down easily.
Perfect companion to the Bosch 5412LAs with most things, you get what you pay for. After quite a bit of investigation, I settled on the 2875XL. I'd been looking for a stand for my new Bosch 5412L saw and had all but given up (thinking to build my own) when I found this. At $329, it's definitely not cheap. But then again, neither is the saw and I didn't want to shortchange myself on any usability in the shop by cheaping out on the stand.
So far, it's been awesome. It is very solid and with the casters locked, it doesn't move at all. Sure, you won't go lugging this setup to a jobsite but rolling it out of the basement and into the garage is easy. It was kind of a pain to put together, as the directions are pretty bad. In spite of this, beginning to end, including time to measure and drill the holes to bolt the saw to the top, was about two hours.
Someone else pointed out that it could be kind of topheavy, which is true, though that's true of a lot of stands. One little added benefit that I hadn't even considered was all of the space underneath. It's a great place to stash all of those bulky tool cases. When I'm working out in the garage, I can just roll this stand out there and everything (including my drills, router, circular saw etc) is right there where I need it.
I'm pretty picky when it comes to my tools. I would have no reservations about recommending this to any one in need of a good, stable miter saw stand.

Great ProductThe Stand arrived with the box slightly torn but all pieces were there. The directions were easy to follow. This stand was built more solid then I had expected. I have a dewalt sliding witer saw and was concerned about stablity. But this stand is extremly stable, rolls easy and the side supports adjust perfectly to the saw table. This is one great stand.

Storm StationHave not used as yet, but prelim. would indicate that it should be very useful.
Storm StationIt's working well so far. It's compact and doesn't take up a lot of space. The weather radio comes in clear and the flashlight is brighter than I expected. I hope we don't have to use it much but it's nice to have if we do need it.

Must Have ToolThis impact is great. I have a race car team and not having to use air impact wrench is great. We do not do hot pits. The impact wrench has loads of power. The batteries work great. I will get a few more for sure.
review, from the unb-reviewer!ya know, there are "toys" then there are TOOLS. This is a TOOL. I've already dropped it pretty far, it holds up like all dewalts. I've been impressed with its power - and I use this this thing as my primary impact. BTW, I repair brakes and axles on RVs so most things have rust, grime, and are well aged!! I bit more power would be nice but more power isd always better!! E
Great farm use tool.I use this cordles tool to pull wheels and cutting blades from my tractor and commercial mowers in the field. The Dewalt 300lb torque impact wrench is as advertised.

Finest professional grade circular saw at any priceThis saw was not designed for the homeowner but for the professional carpenter.
It will be too heavy for the casual board cutter and the great design features will only be apparent to skilled pro's.
Circular saws have been built following the same basic design for years. Expensive circular saws had strong, durable motors and heavy duty fences while the cheapies had poor fences and poor motors. The depth and angle adjustments in either group were at best a suggestion of precision.
Dewalt to their credit decided to build a better saw and succeeded masterfully. The other saw manufacturers are still doing things the same old way.
What's great - Heavy duty fence, clear view of the cut point from the left hand side of the saw, notch to position power cord so it is out of the way on rips, clear and precise depth and angle adjustment, unbelievably smooth and powerful motor.
What's not - it's heavy yet it's mass makes it very stable
Several years ago I had a chance to use a friend's Dewalt DW364. It was so amazing that I hoped my venerable Makita 8 1/4" contractor saw would die. The Makita is still running strong (it's 22 years old) but I finally bought a DW364 anyway.
The makita gets used for framing - the dewalt for finish work.
As a side note - I have never seen a professional carpenter use a rip fence.

Best circular saw on the marketIts a bit heavy, but it is also the best circular saw I've ever owned!
Bought My First One In '93,,,,,Way back in '89 I destroyed a worm gear drive saw. I replaced it with a major brand, big discount store, consumer grade saw,,, then 2 more. Finally I realized that I had spent as much as a nice commercial grade saw would have cost, in just 4 years !! So I began studying and researching and found this saw. I never did like the way that the worm drive saw would torque to the side when I pulled the trigger. The saw wasn't hard to control after the initial start-up but that sideways jump annoyed me. So I didn't even consider another worm drive saw. This saw looked rugged enough and the base plate was precisely adjustable for paralell to the blade. I was sold. It self destructed in '04.
I did a short overview of what was available and still couldn't find anything I liked better,,so, in '04 I bought another one. This time though the saw has been upgraded to 15 amps from the previous 13 amps, and I couldn't be happier. 10 or 11 years from now if this one goes out again, I'll buy another one gladly. The smoothest running, straightest cutting, easiest to control saw I've ever seen has no competition. Well,,, maybe the 8 1/4 inch version of the same saw.

Be careful of the reconditioned drillI bought this drill last April, and used it few times, and then it stopped working last week. I was a bit surprise it broke so soon. Took it to the DeWalt service center for repair. After it was examined, I was asked where I bought. I told them it was from Amazon. And then I was told they have found inside parts that were broken and cheap, and not genuine DeWalt parts. They suspected someone just simply rebuilt the drill with cheap parts. Anyway, they fixed the drill for me. So be warned.
Kit doesn't mean BitsI am very pleased with the quality of the drill. I was disappointed when I opened the box, because I had assumed that a kit would also include the bits. A short walk to home depot, and $18 fixed my problem, and it's still a great bargain even when you add the price for the bits.
Great drill for priceI am usually suspect about reconditioned tools, but this tool looks exactly like the brand new model I bought my brother for Christmas, and the performance is identical. A great drill for the price with a case included.

Great Power This saw will cut. We have 5 of them. We cut 3/8" aluminum plate with no problem and have yet to burn one out or break a gear box in 2 years.
The draw backs are we have to keep a stock of the arms for the blade guard. They are plastic a keep breaking. If the saw is dropped the cast aluminum arms that hold the base on can break. To fix it the whole gear box housing has to be replaced.

Almost the Best...I compared this saw to a Milwaukee 6390. Advantages of this model are the rear pivot (you don't need to adjust the handle to keep it close to the shoe, it's always where you want it) and the blade brake. The brake stops the blade in 2 to3 seconds, the Milwaukee has no brake and takes 3 times that long. If I had bought this saw first and never tried the Milwaukee, I never would have looked back. This saw is a bit heavy, but it balances well, feels solid, and cuts very very well.
In the end this saw gets second place for two reasons. First, although there is a nice big notch in the upper blade guard to let you see your cut line, the front-mounted height adjustment is in the way so you have to lean forward to get a peek. Second, the Milwaukee just turns wood to vapor. The Dewalt is a very strong saw and never bogged down a bit. But the 6390 feels like magic when it cuts. It's not just the blade, I swapped them and while the Endurance blade is far superior to the DeWalt, either way the Milwaukee just makes you want to cut your picnic table in pieces for the sheer joy of it.

great sawWell I had this saw for 10 years now and I love it. The flat alum base doesnt scratch the work and the adjustment works well. I've used this saw on a plywood base like a tablesaw and it preformed well. The electric brake continues to work, it's a nice safety feature. It is a professional quality saw and I would buy this saw again.

It does its job, but it could be longer,This is a good product. It is stupid easy to get put together and on the router. The nicest part isn't even a feature of the guide but the router case, it has slots for the guide arms and a whole for the head molded in. That's convenient. The only thing I wish it had was longer arms. I'd be happy with a couple more inches. Better yet, if it came with 4 pieces that could screw into one another, getting twice the length. But otherwise it's great, holds to the side of the work piece and stays true.
Dewalt Edge GuideThis is a good product. It is like "all other" edge guides; it must be adjusted and double checked if you are doing precision work. I would recommend its use with Dewalt routers.
A very useful tool ExpansionI have used routers for over thirty years. And during that time I have used edge guides at times. This edge guide is better than most for two reasons. First it has a fine adjust to get precision cuts. And second it has a dust collection which connects to a shop vac to clear the work area so you can see what you are doing. I have used it on several projects now and am very happy with it.

NOT AVAILABLEI ordered this item for my husband for Christmas...Well it arrived today and it is the wrong one. They sent a 1/2' drill instead of the 3/8". They said it was a substitution because the 3/8" is discontinued. They didn't even contact me to see if it would be ok to substitute. Now I have to wait for my account to be credited and probably have to pay the shipping to send the wrong item back...........merry christmas!
5 years of hard use, Excellent drill!!! I've been using this drill for the past 5 years and it has performed flawlessly since day one. I've treated this drill like a redhead stepchild and tortured it with heavy daily use. It's fallen down a flight of concrete stairs and my idiot neighbor dropped it off his roof when I stupidly let him borrow it. While I don't recommend treating your power tools this way, my dewalt drill has taken everything I can dish out and still works as well as the day I bought it.
The battery life is excellent. I've put hundreds of hours of actual use to them and in five years had to purchase one replacement. Be careful to deplete the charge before recharging the battery. If you place the ni-cad battery on the charger before it needs charging, you will kill the battery life. This is true with all ni-cad batteries, and has nothing to do with Dewalt.
The adjustable torque can be set to stop at a very delicate setting, or you can set it with enough torque to rip your arm off if that's more your style. The molded plastic drill bit holders are very nice for keeping spare bits within easy reach and prevent constantly looking around wondering where you left your bits.
If you're looking for a cordless drill with enough power to make it through a long day on the jobsite or just a great drill for home improvement, this is the one. I highly recommend this drill! you won't be disappointed.

Reliable powerhouse with great battery lifeI've had this drill for about 8 months now and used it in a variety of settings for all sorts of purposes. I am amazed at how long the batteries hold a charge, and how they seem to be immune from even subfreezing temperature. I left it outside on the porch after finishing a project; the temperature fluctuated between upper teens and low 30's for the week it went unfound. I brought it in, thinking the battery was dead, and went to get the other. Out of curiosity I pulled the trigger and it was immediately at full speed. Without changing batteries I took it to the shop and used it over the next several hours with not a whimper. I am impressed. The smaller size and lighter weight make it a dream to use. I'm not convinced that the lack of "XRP" on the batteries make any detectable difference at all. The price is steep at "street list" and I've seen them go for much less, so be patient.
