The dewalt saw is a capable compound miter. The problem is the 8 !/2 inch blade, which is a odd size and does'nt have any fine tooth available at all. The only blade that I could locate is a fast woodcutting, which is unnacceptable in some instances. There are many different blades available in 8 1/4, why they made this saw 8 1/2 is beyond me. Why make a saw with no blades available.

I got the dw712, and it was 350 dollars, not the 500+ shown here, and its the same saw, my box is the same model, and clearly marked as haevy duty. I also found blades, not as readily availible as other sizes, but they are out there, so no complaints there, this is a nice saw, and covers everything that a non-sliding 12 does, except 4x4s, and I dont do many of those anyway, very compact and easy to move from job to job, love it, for the money, cant beat this saw!!!
As for complaints about it throwing dust, its a miter saw, what do you expect???

Contrary to the other review, blades ARE available, but not so readily as say a 7-1/2 or 10 inch. Try Home Depot or Lowes for sure, or probably any other large building materials supplier. Unlikely at a local "mom and pop" hardware. They were listed on Amazon too, but there was some glitch in their supply resulting in an extremely long delay in delivery, so I cancelled. I have three 60 tooth blades and they work great with the saw.

I am shopping for a blade for my saw. It is extremely frustrating when most of the blades on Amazon do not list the arbor size. Would you buy a suit at not specify the size?

I am a carpenter and have been using dewalt tools for the past 16 years. I purchased the 18v hammer drill and sawzall expecting solid top of the line tools. In 14 months of use I have purchased 2 xr batterys because of failure and had the clutch replaced in the drill. The sawzall has been in for repair once also. While the drill was in the shop I purchased a 15.4 volt panasonic drill. When I received the drill back we installed a deck using the two drills side by side. The panasonic lasted about 4 times as long while driving faster and better. The chuck on the panasonic is far better and the tool is better balanced. The sawxall has a jerky stroke and has no stamina. I am very dissapointed and will not buy again.My older dewalt drills were reliable and tough. not the case with these.

I run a small remodeling business that gets into a little bit of everything, so flexibility and versatility are important at all times. This is a great combination of tools for anyone that must use a variety of fasteners in diverse situations. Having a drill/driver and a rotary hammer with common batteries and charger eliminates the duplication that usually comes with cordless tools. The recip saw is one of the tools used most often on our jobs, so popular that we often compete for its use. The light is an added "bonus" that often comes in handy.
The run time for all three tools is impressive, along with the power of all three. I have even used the recip saw, with a long blade, to cut dowm small trees.
Overall, this set was one of the best purchases I have made for my crew.

I bought this thinking yes it is expensive but appears built to last. I also thought for the money it should suck the paint right off the wall when I start it up. To my surprise I found out it can not suck up a lousy screw on the floor. It is very quiet and filter is great. It is a VERY large unit. All I know is my craftsman would out suck this machine. I am planning on sending this unit back unless Dewalt tells me there is something wrong with it?? In the long run I think you are better off going to Lowes or Depot and getting a $ unit.

I'm a big fan of DeWalt products and expected a high quality product. For the most part I was not disappointed. The vacuum's usefulness is limited without the $100 accessory package. Dewalt should adjust the price and include the "accessories" as part of the base product. The accessories are top-notch and turn this into a highly useable tool. Although the hose is two inches in diameter, all the accessories are 1.5 inches. This results in frequent clogs when cleaning up larger pieces of debris. I've found myself having to initially pick out the larger pieces by hand before cleaning up with the vac. I also wasn't impressed with the power. Without having done any scientific measurements, it appear my old $99 craftsman vac can out clean the dewalt. When it comes to noise levels, their claims are accurate. This is a very quite machine. I no longer have to worry about waking the kids when cleaning up after they've gone to sleep. It's also a big machine and is clumsy to move up and down stairs, however the caster system is superior and makes moving it around on a flat surface a breeze. It also is a very stable machine, and is all but impossible to tip over. My old craftsman had difficulty staying upright by comparison.

Overall I'm satisfied with my purchase.

To whom it may concern. I purchased a set of DeWalt Nibblers DW896 2100 spm 16-gauge for my husband. He used them one time cut very little and they acted as if they were dull. He was cutting 29- gauge barn siding. Bought them through Amazon.com and called them and can not return because it is a couple days past their 30-day return policy. what should i do?

My husband purchased a dewalt 16-gauge nibbler about 6 months ago and it has made his job much easier! He had been looking for a tool of this type for a long time. After being told by other's in his line of work what to look for, he decided to purchase one for himself. He has had only good things to say about its use and how much easier it has made his job and about how much faster he can finish a job by using the Dewalt nibbler. He would highly recommend it to anyone that constructs metal barns or puts on metal roofs.

The 9072 12 volt battery listed is not a good buy as there are
2 types of batteries in this catogory available.
The 9071 is the same battery but has an Extended Run Time.
The 9071 cost [$$$] each new at Dewalt stores
The 9072 cost [$$$] new and does not have Extended Run Time.

This battery will give the homeowner all the muscle they will need it's also a great choice for the budget minded. When replacing the battery packs you can always upgrade to a larger battery

The compressor worked for about 2 minutes then stoppped. I tried to return but amazon would not take back. They said I had to deal with the manufacturer. So I did. The repair center is 140 miles away (round trip). They cannot even look at it for 3 weeks plus. Amazon is not up front with their return policies. Will not purchase again from Amazon.

This was the first reconditioned power tool that I have ever purchased. I was surprised to find that the physical condition was pristine. It looks and functions exactly line a new unit. The compressor charges the storage tank to capacity in short order and has no leaks. This is a very nice tool for portable use and light enough to carry around to air up your tires. Considering the price and quality, I consider it to be a very good value.

This item was advertised as reconditioned but it was simply used. Or maybe I should say, pre-owned. The base was way scratched, the body was way dirty, and the only thing that made me feel good, is that it came in the original box.

I debated between this router and the comparable Bosch model for a while before finally choosing the DeWalt. Three things sold me on this router: the depth adjustment ring, the easy motor removal, and the power.

After using it in my router table I can say that all three of those features are absolutely top notch. I really like the depth adjustment ring - this makes changing bit height in my router table VERY easy and precise (no more spinning the motor housing). The easy motor removal is a plus too - all you do is release the motor lock (one handed I might add) and then squeeze the quick release tabs on each side of the motor housing to cause the motor to slide right out of the base. Thats it - it could not be simpler.

As for power, I have not tried to spin any huge bits in this thing, but I have used some serious ogee bits in white oak, poplar, and pine. In every case, the motor handled the cuts in one pass without bogging down at all and the cuts were super smooth and burn free (I use Freud bits). In my experience, the electronic variable speed works very well.

I can't tell you how good the product is, because I haven't purchased it yet. I am still trying to find out how many disks you get for this price!!! If it is price for 1 it is way too expensive, if it is for 100 it is a good price, if it is for 50 it is just an ok price.

Your description is lousy.....these pads will work on any manufacturers 5 inch psa sander.....how many per pack??????manufacturers traditionally pack these sheets in quantities ranging from 5 to 100......

I purchased (2) boxes of these nails to use with (2) brand New Stanley Bostich RN45-B1 Coil roofing guns. Used them on a small job (10x16 shed roof) and experienced consistent jams. On a larger job we used both (NEW) guns with one using the sequential tip trigger and the other using the contact tip. We both experienced jams on a regular basis. Fortunately the RN45 is easy to clear a jam but it became quite frustrating on a roof in Texas in 100 degree weather putting up 38 squares of roofing material.
