Delta Review MS275VP Delta Compound Miter Saw
I received the VP saw package on the 18th of December; one day earlier than estimated. All of the contents arrived as advertised in the value pack. Nice saw, plus the extra's are nice, especially the tool-belt and tape measure!! I took the saw out of the box and checked squareness of the blade, fence, etc. All were close enough for the job I was doing. Only adjustment I needed to make was a little more depth of cut when cross-cutting a 2 x 6. It was quick and simple to adjust. I used the saw to frame and constuct a new wooden fence (85 linear feet-a 2 day job). It made short work of cross-cutting the 2 x 4's and the 2 x 6's. The saw breezed through even the 2 x 6 treated lumber. It was worth the purchase just on the 1 job I did so far. It seems to be very solidly built. It's not light, but I'll take the little extra weight to get rigidity and durabilty. The only negative was the degree markings are printed on a sheet metal scale. I'd have prefered them to be raised cast letters that were part of the table. However, after 1 job I can't tell I've even used the saw. It should last me a lifetime. I like the numerous preset angles as well. Looking forward to making some more sawdust. I plan on building 2 decks before summer. This should really give it a work-out. I'm please with the results I received from this saw. Good value vs. price.

    Delta Review Professional caliber fence
I've owned a Delta 10" 3 HP Tilting Arbor Unisaw with a Unifence since 1989.

Getting the fence parallel to the blade took some time initially, as I recall, but I've never had to realign it in 16 years of use. E.g., wood never binds because the fence isn't parallel to the blade. The fence is so accurate and perfectly flat on all sides; there is no need to mark the wood to be cut. A ruler is adhered to the guide-rail and that's what you use to determine where to lock the fence. Simply put the red line from the fence locking assembly on the exact place on the ruler, and cut. The wood is the right width, every time.

I have no complaints with the Unifence. It's amazing that it has stayed in perfect alignment on my Unisaw for 16 years. It never warps, bends, or twists. Unlike other fence systems, you can slide the fence forward or backward on the fence locking assembly, before tightening the fence in place. I find that useful, for example, when an anti-kickback device is attached to the fence and it gets in the way of the blade guard. It's also useful if you want extra fence length forward or backward, for control purposes. Simply unscrew two knobs and slide the fence into the desired position, then tighten the knobs. The fence shape is ideal for attaching kickback devices that clamp on because the aluminum is 1/8" thick and there is a large flat area the length of the fence that is ideal for this purpose.

A router is mounted under my Unisaw's extension table, so the fence has to be removed to route long pieces. A useful feature of the Unifence is that it quickly separates into the fence bar and handle mechanism. It's thus easier to find a storage place in my smallish shop, as the entire fence, if not separated, is awkwardly large.

The fence can be attached vertically (normal), or horizontally (flat) to the locking mechanism. In the flat position, the fence part that touches the wood is only 1/2" high, versus 3.5", when the fence is vertical. This is advantageous if the blade is tilted towards the fence and you need the fence close to the blade (i.e., when a high fence would impede the saw guard or blade), or, if part of the side of the work to be cut pokes out, assuming that part will ride above the 1/2" high fence (e.g., as in laminate work). I don't use this often, but it's a nifty feature of the Unifence. To move the fence to the left of the blade, loosen those two knobs, flip the fence end over end, and mount it on the right (instead of the left) of the fence locking assembly. Pull up on the locking mechanism's handle and the fence is easily removable from the saw to move it to the left, or, to get it out of the way (e.g., if using the "router table"). Like all top-of-the-line fences, the Unifence firmly locks into place with a single handle and the fence mechanism rides on a single guide rail.

There is a Delta 34-878 Cut-Off Fence for Unifence Saw Guide accessory that is unique in the professional fence market. Check that out.

You cannot do precision table saw work without a perfectly accurate fence. The Unifence fills that bill.

Delta Review Makes trim work easy and accurate.
My first project was cutting molding around porch posts using plastic molding. The Shopmaster made extremely accurate 45 degree cuts in both directions (I swung the miter saw from one side to the other to make cuts). All cuts were great! Easy to use, fast to set-up, accurate miters, safe saw guards, and just a joy to use.

    Delta Review Great product!
This is a great alternative to having the huge faucet-mounted filter in your way all the time.

Delta has done a great job in combining the filter mechanism with a quality faucet. Installation is easy with simple hand-tools. The filter mounts easily under the counter and is the same filter the faucet-mounted units use so they're easy to get. The front-mounted fiber-optic indicator is an easy way to tell how much filter life is left.

The unit consumes a hole in the top of your sink. Most sinks have 4 holes, 3 of which are consumed by your hot, cold and faucet and the 4th is typically consumed by a sprayer or soap dispenser. If you don't have any extra 'holes' you can easily drill one with a hole saw or eliminate your sprayer or soap dispenser.

Delta Review Love it! Love it! Love it!
When I bought this for my husband for father's day I worried that it would not be adaptable to our tiled shower circa 1968 but when it said it installed in less than an hour, it did! My husband loves it; the body sprays and massage settings help ease the aches and pains of the older body. To quote him "now that we have it, we can't see ever going without it"

    Delta Review Very nice indeed
We remodeled our master bathroom and told the contractor we wanted both an overhead showerhead AND a wand on a hose. The quote he gave us for all the valves, plumbing, and labor required to make it happen was much higher than I expected.

Amazon and WaterPik to the rescue! I saw this system from WaterPik on one of Amazon's Friday sales for a little over $100 and immediately bought it. When it arrived and I showed it to the contractor, all he said was, "Dang! That's cool! Where'd you get something like that? I've got this other job..."

This unit had ALL the required plumbing and valves built in that I needed, PLUS adds the body spray and misting steam options. Assembly really didn't require the instructions, and installation to my old shower plumbing was a simple 3 step process...

    1. Mount the backing plate to the wall.

    2. Screw ONE hose to the old overhead shower pipe.

    3. Hang the assembled shower panel on the backing plate.

When mounted, it completely covers the old showerhead pipe and looks great. Included was an anti-siphon* valve for the wand hose that I'm sure was an afterthought. It was the only thing that did not fit quite right and was prone to leaking. After fussing with it for a while, I simply removed it and realized I should have done that to begin with.

Functionally, the thing works very well. The knob used to select the water source is a little stiff, but I would MUCH rather have that than something that leaked, or did not completely shut off the water to the overhead while I was using the wand. The 2 showerheads supplied are of the usual excellent WaterPik quality. The larger fixed head has 10 different "flows" to choose from, and the smaller head on the wand has 7. The shelf on it is surprisingly sturdy and holds more than I expected.

It was a great choice for our situation and the BEST thing about it is if we ever move to a new house, it wouldn't be that hard to take it with us!

*An anti-siphon valve prevents the possibility of drawing standing water into the water supply if the water pressure ever dropped. (Like if you had a 4-alarm fire in your neighborhood.) This could only happen if the shower was on and the wand was submerged in water (like bath water) when the pressure dropped. It's probably a code requirement in many areas to have it on, but having it not leak was a higher priority to me.

    Delta Review More is less
I have talked to many folks who love this planer, but I am the decenter. I got this planer to replace my delta 12 1/2 which worked great, but being a tool fanatic I had to have a two speed. That's my first complaint. The switch which changes speed require brute strength to move, and unless you visibly see the rollers move, your not sure if the switch is engaged.
My previous planer had much more power than this one which frequently while making very shallow cuts bogs down.
The original blades right out of the box had nicks on them that caused lines in the wood. (delta would not replace them)
Speaking of blades my previous planer blades lasted twice as long.
Blade changing is a pain. When changing the blades the first time, the screws were so tight and in some cases so obscured, that it took two hours. Using the supplied wrench the screws were so buggered up when I was done that I had to replace them.
Since then I got my own socket fitting which makes the job easier.
No matter what I do to level the tables the planer it snipes like crazy.
Finally and most annoying the lousy dust collection hood. The outlet is so narrow it jams constantly.
Maybe I got a bad one , but my opinion is this is a serious flawed machine

Delta Review I Bought a Lemon
I purchased the 22 580 Delta planer from Amazon about 3 years ago and have used it in my shop on the average of one hour a week. After two years of service the motor armature had to be replaced. Last week I took it in to the Delta service center because it was so noisy. I was informed that the shaft on cutter head was damaged and that the cutter head, pully, bearings and etc. had to be replaced and that it would be more practical to purchase a new planer. My last planer was a Riobi and it was still running well after giving me ten years of service, talk about a comparison of service. I am not a happy camper!!
