Delta Review Some assembly required.
The directions are pretty bad, the photos almost useless. Leveling feet will probably need to be counterbored (not mentioned in the directions). For my contractor style table saw it works pretty well, but for my 6" jointer it doesn't stay up in the rolling position when you try to move it. The milling of parts (stamping, actually) is pretty weak too. The holes in the wood needed to be reamed out several times to get the bolts through, because the holes in the metal brackets don't line up square. They're useable now, but they took much more time to assemble than I had anticipated. A few simple fixes and a new set of directions are all that are needed drastically improve the quality of this product. I'm disappointed.

Delta Review Delta 50-345 Universal Mobile Base Kit (Wood not included)
This is one sturdy base. A drill press will be very helpful if you are trying to be precise on the hole size for bolting to the wood (to elliminate slop) or it will be very difficult to get the bolts thru if your hole isn't dead perpindicular. The bolts are barely long enough to catch the nut and washer so it wouldn't hurt to supply yourself the next size up in length for the lag bolts. I also snapped a couple heads off the lags from torque. Heavy gauge steel on all 4 corners. Claims a 300 lb capacity. I would say that this is due to the wheel design. They are non servicable rivet on style. Not sure about their durability. I would also like to see replacable wheels instead of the rivet style it comes with. This would allow for an aftermarket caster upgrade. Anyways, It is perfectly adequate for my late 70's Delta contracter saw with the flared legs. I may pick up a couple more.

Delta Review Performs as Advertised
The Delta 50-345 Universal Mobile Base Kit Performs as Advertised. I needed an exceptionally long foot print to support a table saw. Because I was able to supply the wood this worked out well for my situation. The instructions were easy to read and follow. Since it has been in use it is working out very well. I would recommend this base and I would also purchase it again.

Delta Review Great bang for the buck!
Well, after reading all the reviews you convinced me to finally purchase this floor press. It came in one piece with no damage. Assembly was very simple but the instuctions need revising in order to plumb the press head and the vertical table guide. It is indeed a little flexible (per another readers comments) Whether that is intentional or not is a mystery. Run out measured at .002. The depth stop feature is fantasic and sure makes quick work of multiple drill at static depths.

To make sure the drill head is directly over the center of the base is to use a good old fashioned plumb bob. Simply tighten up the chuck and let the bob hang down. Once you've got it centered, tighten up the 2 hex set nuts on the column. Repeat the same steps for the vertical table guide. Tighten up the "one" collar hex nut once the guide is plumb. The only thing that needs modifying is the belt housing unit. It vibrates to no end. A quick fix is to use a velcro strap wrapped tightly around the housing to eliminate the excess noise. Finally, use the HTC mobile base using 4x4's and 3/4" plywood. It REALLY makes this unit stable.

Delta Review Good Drill Press
I bought this drill press a few months ago and have not had any problems with it. The assembly was easy. The operation is smooth and there is very little vibration. Changing speeds is very easy.

The price on Amazon was great and they shipped it for free.

Delta Review Great but it whistles
I purchased this item four weeks ago and find it to be, for the most part, exactly what I wanted. The water saver was easy to remove as advertised. The shower head settings are good but I still prefer my old Pollenex that cracked after 10 years and is no longer a model made. My husband likes this model more than I do. The only real complaint is that at certain settings it whistles. I'm not sure why this happens. It did not occur with that old Pollenex that I mentioned. My overall rating is, therefore, a 4 out of 5. It's probably the best model currently out there.

Delta Review Works well
I bought this as a replacement for my old WaterPik hand-held showerhead. It was easy to install and looks nice. It's all plastic, while my old one was metal. The old one lasted about 12-13 years. I hope this one holds up as well.

Delta Review One for the Money, Two for the Show
Great service by Amazon. They sent a replacement for the first saw, 2nd day delivery, no charge, return shipping paid, no problems.

Both saws had the exact same problem: the fixed detent place was off for both 45s and the 90. No way to adjust this problem, so I took the plate completely off on the replacement saw, and am using an Incra Guaranteed Square and an Incra Guaranteed 45 to set the saw. Tollerances on the Incra are guaranteed at an amazing .0001 along the entire blade. Didn't even try the blade that came with the machine. Instead am using a Freud 96T Ultimate Cutoff blade. Kind of a pain to set the saw each time, but I use it to cut picture frames, and they must be perfect. Too bad the company can't make the plate to exacting standards. I really would have liked to have used the maching and not set it each time. But it's okay. With the plate missing, it sets with twist of the wrist of the handle without messing with holding down the detent stop.

Otherwise great saw. Starts up without a bang like my old Ridged. Lasers are parallel and adjust nicely for the new blade. Real satisified now. Again, thank you Amazon for the service.

Delta Review Nice cut
Great cutting saw, the twin lasers make lining up and cutting a snap! I put a diablo 80-tooth finish blade on my Delta Mitre saw to cut some moulding, and was amazed at the cut, incredibly smooth and very easy to line up quickly with the laser system. Changing both the mitre and the bevel was a snap. Great saw. I have not tried the stock blade, since I was doing finish work I wanted a higher tooth-count blade, so I cannot comment on the stock blade.

Delta Review Great Saw
I can't say anything bad about this saw. The lasers are a dream. I want lasers on everything now. The only thing I have to deal with is its right side laser gets obscured by dust after a couple hundred cuts. This, of course, is easily rectified by simply sticking your finger up there while the saw is plugged in - ha! Caught you sleeping! Practice safety on the job! Unplug your saw to clean the laser lens with a soft artist's brush, and this saw will keep you smiling. Safety first!

Delta Review Rock solid - worth every penny
After much drooling and hoping, I was finally able to purchase the Promax router table. Only problem is now the drooling has intensified as I can't wait to go use it again!
The 40-031 table is a very well built table that just feels solid and well made. It attached to my new Delta hybrid table saw in 30 minutes or less and is saving me space AND increasing the quality of my routings.
One of the bolts for the fence was machined improperly, but one call to Bench Dog had one in my hand within a week. They definately have quality customer service.
Although it's not cheap, the 40-031 is worth every penny. You will not go wrong with this router table!

Happy Routing!

Delta Review Love it!!
I was concerned that this would be a problem installing on my Jet tablesaw -- no concerns now...it is a perfect fit.
This is a great piece of metal and really enhances the tablesaw.

Delta Review unisaw router table extension
The concept of saving space unites with this item! Not only does it help me save space by mounting my router on my unisaw. But it extends my workspace. I gave it 5 stars because of its intent , but the unit i got bows on the top, so i had to grind it to level out with my unisaw. And the phenolic plate from bench dog was predrilled backwards(wierd?) so it would not line up with the holes in the extension. Amazon had me call Benchdog and i am still waiting for the correct top.

Delta Review Update to previous review
I previously gave this purchase 2 stars because I found out that just a few months prior to my purchase Delta moved the base and motor assy to China. Every tool I own (except for two of my lathes) is Delta, Rockwell/Delta, etc. and have been in service for decades.

Since writing my review I've talked with Delta, other woodworkers, and retailers at length. I've learned quite a bit about the tool, specifically where it has been made and why Delta had to make certain decisions throughout the life of this tool. Everyone believes (or hopes) that the customer service problems we've all experienced with Delta stem from the company's many corporate changes - mergers, changes in ownership, parts/inventory changes, and the recent Porter Cable deal caused some pretty serious customer service problems.

The tool performs perfectly. The jointer is a gem.
Admittedly, the motor has done its job faithfully.
The Stand is sufficient and although customer service goofed up they deserve some slack due to all the changes they have had to deal with. Besides, they threw in a free set of knives and a heart-felt apology.

Who knows, maybe they'll bring the base back and resume using U.S made motor back in. You never know.

Delta Review Solid and Accurate
I bought my DJ-20 from Amazon about three years ago. Delivered inside my garage via lift gate truck -- not bad! The cuts were like glass or as someone else said, like 220 sanded finish. I have the Delta mobile base which is extremely well built and very useful since very long infeed/outfeed tables can get in the way in a cramped workshop/garage.

I've only checked flatness with my 12" Starrett rule and couldn't find any low spots or warping.

It did come with a defective knife guard (painted red in picture - aluminum). The pivot hole had been machined too large so it angled toward the table. Maybe should be 4 stars but rounding up since Delta sent me a replacement with zero hassles.

After nicking the blades bad enough to need replacing, I haven't been able to align new ones as well as the factory. Used Jointer-Pal and dial-indicator but when tightening the hold-down bolts the knives move a few hundredths. Probably user error.

On mine, top says made in Taiwan, cabinet says made in USA. I would buy this again without hesitation.

Delta Review Industry Standard
There are three primary requirements that all jointers must meet. 1. The in feed and out feed tables must be perfectly parallel. 2. The fence must form a right angle along it's entire length across both tables (if it doesn't form a right angle there's not much hope in getting it to work at other angles). And finally, 3. The in feed and out feed tables must be long to facilitate accurate straitening of lumber prior to being run through a thickness planer. All of these factors are met and in many ways exceeded by the Delta DJ 20. I've owned mine for 15 years and I can attest that this is the best jointer I have ever used. I've owned two combination jointer thickness planers in the past and neither of these machines came close to the DJ 20 for accuracy in jointing lumber. The mechanisms for either removing or lifting the joiner tables out of the way to use combination machines as a thickness planer effect the accuracy of the jointer tables, regardless of how well or heavily built these machines are (one of my combination machines was a 20" jointer / thicknesser and weighed almost 2000 lbs., horrible jointer, constant problems with table and fence alignment). I would never recommend combination machines to anyone other than a casual weekend warrior with very little workshop space.

The 8 inch capacity may seem limiting, but in reality this is not an issue. The parallelogram mechanism for both the in feed and out feed tables is superior to anything I've ever seen and it makes altering the depth of cut a snap. This machine is a beast as far as weight but a jointer needs to be heavy... really heavy. Nothing is more frustrating than a lightweight jointer "walking away" from you as you try and straighten lumber. My previous shop was in a basement, the DJ 20 slid down the stairs (with three people controlling it) like a dream. However, getting it out was interesting and took four strong men (three at the bottom pushing and one at the top pulling), ramps, dollies, tie down straps and a healthy amount of grunting... it was a miracle the three of us behind the machine came out alive.

One recommendation I would make for anyone considering the purchase of this machine is to get the mobile base. You may have the luxury of a permanent location for this machine, but the mobile base makes moving this monster so much easier. The mobile base also means someone is not reefing on your perfectly aligned in feed and out feed tables to get it to budge. Others have mentioned a problem with vibration. Mine had this issue when I first bought it, but I corrected this by ensuring that the motor and cutter head pulleys are in alignment. Dust collection is not an issue but don't buy the Delta attachment, as others have indicated it is for a 5" diameter hose. Instead buy a $5.00 plastic one and screw it to the cabinet, works just as well if not better.

When I purchased mine it was made in Brazil by Invicta. I'm not sure where the current models are made, but if Delta was smart they would not mess with something that was basically perfect and a standard piece of woodworking equipment in any shop dealing with solid wood. Highly recommended.

Delta Review sweet deal !
Not only did i get the ts350 $60 cheaper than the ts300, it was delivered right to my garage door. I am extremely happy I read the reviews posted on the ts350 as well as the ts300 they were instrumental in my decisionmaking process.
The machine arrived at 1PM and I had it put together by 2. The directions were easy to understand and all the parts were included. One suggestion to assemblers: flip over the rubber spacers below the blade cover plate to facilitate proper flushness to tabletop, a small dot of superglue applied to the spacers will also keep them from falling into saw guts during blade changes. Cosmetically, i would have thought they could get the front and rear chamfer of the extensions to match that of the tabletop. WD40 disolves the antirust wax on the bare metal tabletop. For a lifetime of rustfree use apply plain old turtle wax now and then, it's worked on my other saw for 20 years.

Delta Review A great deal
I have a small shop and needed to replace a small Craftsman table saw. I wanted a cast iron top for the stability. After looking at many saws and many different prices, I came across the TS350 at Lowes for $399,99. I compared this to Amazon and discovered I could get it for #268.99 with the discounts being offered plus no shippoing and no tax. Lowes refused to match the price although they had a big sign saying that they would. I was pleased to be able to get a smaller table top. My needs were for making small items and I dont plan to be in a commercial business of ripping large pieces of wood. I did read the complaints about the small table top and wondered why anyone who wanted a large top would buy a smaller saw and then complain ablut it. I read the directions through before assembly and had no problems with the assembly. I was up and running in a very short time. Read the directions and look at the pictures and you should have no problems. If you cant assemble this saw from the instructions, you probably shouldnt be allowed to play with tools. My only complaint is that it is pretty heavy and I got some help to set it upright when I was through with assembling the base and putting on the dust collector, but thats a good thing I think. Very stable and a solid table saw for a small shop. I was prepared to pay as much as 4 times the price I paid for this unit and am very pleased at getting a quality and very stable saw with a cast iron top and a smaller footprint in my smaller shop. It is a direct drive and not a pully drive so I dont know how that will effect me in the long run but there is nothing sticking out the back to bump into so I am glad about that so far.

Delta Review capable saw with plenty of power
I don't know why so many people said it took them 6 hours to set up this saw. I had it up and running in 2 hours by myself. It has plenty of power for a weekend warrior but the lack of brake can be a little annoying as it takes this saw forever to stop spinning. The model a step down comes with a dust collection bag but with this one, you are on your own. Someone else mentioned a 1/4 inch of play in the back of the rip fence but I found it to be very sturdy and stable. I am very happy with this saw.

Delta Review worth every penny
If your saw never leaves your shop, this is ideal. Built well and easy to assemble, I am very happy with this purchase. THe stand is very portable and folds down easily.

Delta Review Perfect companion to the Bosch 5412L
As with most things, you get what you pay for. After quite a bit of investigation, I settled on the 2875XL. I'd been looking for a stand for my new Bosch 5412L saw and had all but given up (thinking to build my own) when I found this. At $329, it's definitely not cheap. But then again, neither is the saw and I didn't want to shortchange myself on any usability in the shop by cheaping out on the stand.

So far, it's been awesome. It is very solid and with the casters locked, it doesn't move at all. Sure, you won't go lugging this setup to a jobsite but rolling it out of the basement and into the garage is easy. It was kind of a pain to put together, as the directions are pretty bad. In spite of this, beginning to end, including time to measure and drill the holes to bolt the saw to the top, was about two hours.

Someone else pointed out that it could be kind of topheavy, which is true, though that's true of a lot of stands. One little added benefit that I hadn't even considered was all of the space underneath. It's a great place to stash all of those bulky tool cases. When I'm working out in the garage, I can just roll this stand out there and everything (including my drills, router, circular saw etc) is right there where I need it.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to my tools. I would have no reservations about recommending this to any one in need of a good, stable miter saw stand.

Delta Review Great Product
The Stand arrived with the box slightly torn but all pieces were there. The directions were easy to follow. This stand was built more solid then I had expected. I have a dewalt sliding witer saw and was concerned about stablity. But this stand is extremly stable, rolls easy and the side supports adjust perfectly to the saw table. This is one great stand.

Delta Review Quality less than expected
Just installed the fence today and have the following comments:

1. The quality of the brackets and hardware are less than I expected. The bolts are very soft and strip easily. The two aluminum brackets that support the main tube were very poorly machined and not deburred. The steel brackets used for fine adjustment of the front and rear supports were poorly made. I had to run a 1/4 X 20 tap through all the brackets so the adjustment screws would screw in.

2. I was very disappointed in the quality of the clamping body of the fence. Granted, in this case it was only cosmetic flaws but I would have liked a cleaner, smoother clamping body. That said, when assembled on the saw I could move the fence left to right with light pressure from my index finger. It moves smooth and quiet.

3. The fence itself was quite nice and needed only to have the mounting holes deburred.

4. The instructions leave a lot to be desired and the illustrations barely earn a passing grade.

5. In short, had I known about the quality issues I would have purchased another fence. I will certainly replace all the bolts with grade 5 or higher and probably make new support brackets for the front tube. For the price it should have been better quality.

Delta Review Vega less than responsive.
I actually rate the fence itself at four stars, but Vega's customer service was horrible. The inital contact went smoothly. I ordered a saw fence pusher (soon to be available through amazon.com) and a set of fence legs to compliment my newly purchased Vega U50 fence system. The order was placed on 1/5 and I was told to expect delivery on 1/10 or 1/11. I attempted phone contact on 1/17 - 1/20 calling once a day to obtain information on the order status. None of my calls were ever returned. On 1/20 I sent an email that was never responded too. On 1/27 I got home from work and found the items sitting on my doorstep without any explanation of the delay. I can't imagine a company like this staying in business! If you purchase this fence, you better hope you never have to get in touch with the manufacturer.

Delta Review Great solid fence
I used this fence on my Grizzly 1023 and it has definetly exceeded my expectations. It is a very solid fence that is capabable of being adjusted in every direction. The fence is solid as a rock when locked down and the installation was very simple. I highly recommend this product.
