Shocked
Great StandEverything went in about 30 minutes without any problems. The stand is well made and the top is pre-drilled to bolt the planer down.
Great table for my Delta 22-580 planerI always read these reviews before buying anything on here. But for some reason I didn't on this stand, as I needed one to go with my new planer and this one was recommended. I finally read all of the reviews after I purchased it and I was afraid that I would have the same problem that many others did when it came to putting it together. However, that was not the case at all.
I spent a total of about 30 minutes putting this together. Everything fit together perfectly. I didn't have to file, grind, drill, or adjust a thing and all of the hardware was there. So I guess if there was a problem before maybe Delta has straightened it all out.
As to the quality, it's great. Heavy gauge metal, carriage bolts everywhere, and a great finish on everything. The top is very thick and sturdy. My new 22-580 planer bolted right to it, with hardware included with the stand.
The manual for my planer recommended either the 50-322 or the 50-326 stands, but I bought this one because of the top that it has, which the 50-326 does not have, the planer just mounts to the top rails of the stand.
One thing that Delta could do to make this better is to include a center shelf for it, after all it has the brackets on the lower cross members already. I'll make one for myself

underachiever Bought at Lowes for $99 plus there was a rebate(forgot the amount). Works great for dust collectoin from sanding table(also a delta) but does poorly w/ planer(delta) because chips get stuck on protection cage in front of impeller(I may remove this)also leaks where hose fitting is screwed to housing(silicone should solve this). 2 stars because Delta should have thought this out better. Also replced crappy 30 mocron bag w/ 5 micron bag. Big difference!!!
Pretty good dust extractorI've never used any other extractor, so I can't say how this compares. For my use, I needed an extractor I can pick up and carry occasionally as needed, not too expensive, and it's been working fine. I felt like I wasn't getting enough extraction from one (I'm connecting it to a dust-extraction table, where it's pulling in air through slots in a table that's about two by three feet, so I need quite a bit of draw) so I got a second one. Together, they're doing what I need.
Portable, low noise, Lung saverI have an apartment only to work in and it's full of tools and collectables. This dust collector will eat all the dust my router table will create and save space. I,ve only added a felt bag over the delta bag to filter to 1 micron.

Delta 28-181 Rip Fence for 9" Band Saw -- Not the Greatest!!My experience with the #28-181 rip fence was disappointing, but the vendor Work Tough saw fit to refund my money after I explained problems with the product. The response was immediate, as was the refund. The vendor seemed to agree with my descriptions of out-of-square product, poor fit to the saw table, and a broken piece of potmetal on the front table guide!!
Delta 28-181 Rip Fence for 9" Band SawThis product was delivered to me incomplete from UBID inc. not Amazon. The product was delivered 3 weeks later than promised.
I had to buy parts at my local hardware store to make the locking mechanism work.

Delta 28-181 Rip Fence for 9" Band SawThis product does what most rip fences do. The only "problem" is that the table on the 9" band saw has no rule so care must be taken to set the fence where you want it from the blade and making sure it is square to your cut.

This showerhead is a POSI have the flexible head model.... From the reviews below some have the head with the non-flexible pipe... The flexible head model could not support itself out of the box. It is a POS and now I have to waste my time returning it. I wanted to jerry-rig it so it would stand up as it did in the picture but the wife said no.
Flexible hose won't hold upFirst of all I was very disappointed when I received my Waterpik CF-203C Cascadia showerhead. It is all plastic! I do not recall seeing that anywhere in the product specs. I thought when I oredered a chrome finish that it was some form of metal. Sedondly, even with the head made of plastic, the plasic flexible hose is not strong enough to support it. We could not use it because the hose would just hang there and spray the wall. We installed it repeatedly, following each step of the instructions every time, thinking we were missing something. I eventually returned the showerhead to Amazon.
just fabulousit was so easy to install, i couldn't believe it.
the water pressure is great. the intense rinse function
is wonderful. when i get out of the shower i feel like i've been swimming. very invigorating. thank you.

Really Variable Experiences?Wonder why there is so much variation in experiences with this planer and its knives? I have had my Delta 22-580 for almost three years with excellent performance. Today's order is for my second set of replacement knives. I have planed many bf of white oak, cherry, walnut, tulip poplar, and some softwoods with no problems and very satisfactory results. I appreciate the ease with which the knives can be changed.
As another review noted "all knives chip" -- eventually, even when working carefully. Just purchase an extra set of blades and expect to swap them out at some time. Also, I think doing more, thinner passes over wood that has been carefully inspected helps prevent the knives from chipping.

Planer good, easy fix for snipe, Blades decent but priceyBest fix is to get a 4' or 5' piece of melamine shelving and put it over the flimsy infeed/ outfeed tables. Now it's easy to plane 8'+ boards with little to no snipe.
Nice that you can move the blades side to side - gives you at least 5-6 adjustments for nicks in the blades. Don't know what everyone is complaining of. You're going to have to do a light sanding or scrape no matter what planer you use.

Take a lighter cut ...My driveway is covered with snowdrifts of shavings, twenty cubic feet last weekend. Then I flipped the blades after seventy passes of 1/64inch each on 2x12x12 salvaged oak and poplar crating planks. So, I ended up with 50bf of finished 2x12. The knives are the heart of the machine and they are turning one man's trash into some beautiful material. They wear and dull just like my saw blades. While I wish they could be resharpened, I also wish that lumber didn't come with nails, knots, and sap.

No parts? We purchased this saw 6 months ago. The little plastic gear that allows adjustment for the blade gaurd broke. We continue to receive bad news concerning the availibility of this part. Back order, after back order. Why? We need this saw. It was our fault for the breakage, I just cant believe its not available. We have ordered the gear through GRAINGER Industrial supply here in Wichita Kansas.
Thanks

So far not so goodI ordered this product and while not to Amazons fault the product came defected. A leg on the base was broke off. I called Delta ( from the card in the package) and asked if they could ship a new piece, it was easy to replace. It cost a total of [price]. To my amazement they would not, I had to go through UPS, who shipped it, etc etc. After a week, I said the heck with it and filled out a return/replacement order and Amazon was great. The old has been picked up and a new one on t he way. So what would have cost [price], cost who knows how much. I guess I dont understand business. I guess I dont understand DELTA. Sears always stands by their products, why doesnt Delta?
Get what you pay for...Used this saw for 3 years or so for light jobs, although I've resawn with it a few times. Does a good job for the $$ on light jobs -- I know it's not meant for resawing, so my expectations reflect that knowledge and I'm ok with the way it performs. I'm intending to do much more resawing in the future and am upgrading to an 18 inch, 2 hp, 220v saw but will still use this little guy for quickie cuts from time to time. My 4-star review is based on modest expectations of the tool.

Not bad., but not great.I do wish the table had gooves that were in an "X" pattern instead of parallel to each other. The 6" Delta vise does not fit the DP300 press. Don't expect to move the press to easily,it weighs just under 80 lbs. It was easy to assemble (just have someone available to help). The head weighs a lot and when you lift it to place on the column, its nice to have some help. The depth stop DOES NOT WORK like it says in the manual!! It is hard to figure out. I hope it lasts awhile. The tool tray does not fasten to the press as shown on the box. It goes at the top of the raising rack and is to high. The goose ncek lamp is great.
A good basic drill press, butservice is a painful experienceFor such a popular brand, getting any Delta product serviced is a pain. I live in the DC area and it's a 2 hour round trip to drop it off and 2 hours to pick it up.
DON'T LOSE THE CHUCK KEY! It's a different diameter to any of the others you have lying around, and you have to call Delta to get a replacement. I had to grind down a different key as an interim replacement.
Besides all that, its a fine machine for the money. I've even used the mortising attachment a few times. But with a 12" drill press, you'll only get a 2 1/2" mortise. So, if you will be doing basic light drilling, this is your drill press.

Model 11-990 is still availabe.Just to note... the two-year old Delta 12" model 11-990 which the troublesome DP300 replaced is still available at a discount from some industrial tool suppliers. I purchased one about two months ago. It is the exact same drill press with all of the same specifications, including being made in China.
So far, it has been a very good tool and I have no complaints, especially considering the reduced price. I wrote a review on it last month.
It's possible that since technically it is an older model, it may have been made to higher standards, because as everyone in the woodworking industry now knows, Delta's continued cost cutting shift to its overseas production facilities has produced increasingly inferior products over the last few years. This is especially true for their low priced light home duty "ShopMaster" series and medium priced commercial product line.
Considering the fact that Delta owns these overseas facilities, if they exercised better material selection, manufacturing techniques and quality control, this wouldn't be such an issue. Unfortunately for everyone, overall product quality as well as Delta's reputation are now almost completely in the tank.

Less Mess Dust Collector Bag eases dust problemsI'm generally happy with it though my Dewalt contractor saw table has a tranverse center bar and the bag has to drape on either side of it. I would have preferred that the snaps were held on with nuts and bolts rather than sheet metal screws (for durability).
Even so I'm glad I bought it and it does what it is supposed to do.

LessMess bagAn inexpensive alternative to a cabinet table saw, this bag attaches to a contractor's table saw and reduces the amount of sawdust by 70 per cent, increasing safety, cleanliness and reducing the clean-up time in the shop. There is some blow-by around the top of the bag, but this can be remedied through skillful use and application of a sealer tape.
1 Point Off for Price and InstructionsI'd give the Less-mess five stars if I could get it for about $20. For the premium price I expected that at least the installation instructions would be accurate. Measure everything, including the dust collector before you drill any holes. The instructions that came with my table saw "diaper" said to space the holes 8" apart on the sides and 6" apart on the front and back. After measuring I swapped the given dimensions around and everything worked out fine. If I had drilled holes in my table saw stand as instructed I would have been sorry. Just the same, it's a good idea. I think I could have made my own for less, but who's got time for that?

Weak and poorly designedI purchased on of these at Lowes for $90. Initially I attempted to used it in the horizontal position. With only very light pressure the speed would slow down drasticaly. When I removed the piece of wood I was working on the belt speed remained reduced and the motor began to smoke. On attempting to restart the motor the rpm's remained low and I shut it off before it started smoking again. I had to start the sander with the belt disengaged and then re-engage the belt. On attempting to use the sander in a vertical position, I found that the platen would not stay vertical to the table surface. There was about 10 degrees of play in it. When I returned it to Lowes the tool manager showed me in the operating instrucions that the platen is set to vertical with respect to the FINGER GUARD, not the table. I couldn't believe it. Delta expects you to use the 1 inch wide finger guard and not the table as a work surface when sanding at 90 deg.. Pathetic. Thank goodness Lowes took it back in retun or I would have had a very expensive boat anchor.
Cheap price cheap qualityI got this unit to sand 2 x 4 cedar for a play set. I got the unit home and desovered that half the wholes for the guards were not threaded. So I spent an hour tapping them and assembling the guards. Then I plugged it in and.....nothing.
I returned it and got a new unit, within 10min the belt was slipping and a strong smell of burning rubber was smelled. then I had to hand turn the belt when switching on the unit to get it started.
It has a cheap clutch and a cheap motor. save your money and buy somthing better like the Model 31-695 (That is what I plan on doing)

Good performance and quality for the price I actually paidSeeing as how I paid under $80 for my unit at a holiday closeout/clearance sale in a local home center, my rating of "5 Stars" is directly relevant to that key fact. Well-packed from the factory, easy to assembly, minimal adjustments required, good instruction book. Really light in weight given it's size and it's reasonably quiet too. Low or no vibration and I used mine clamped onto a B&D Workmate with no problems. The miter and fence assemly is a bit too loose in the track and so it has a tendency to slip right out. But, once I realized it did, I was more deliberate using it and didn't have any further problems with it. I did not experience any problems with the belt portion during operation -- no walking or chatter. It did a really good job of sanding a 6" cutdown piece of Douglas Fir rough planking. The end result was a very smooth, uniform surface all the way around including the ends. All-in-all, this is a well-made and very solid-performing, low-priced piece of equipment for a small, cramped and tight-budgeted shop like mine. Be mindful of your actual needs and your means when choosing this type of unit. It's probably not a wise choice for heavy or frequent use.

Delta Scroll SawVery disappointed with the product. Bottom blade clamp would not hold the blade - Delta sent a new one and it still didn't work. Returned the item and purchased a Dewalt. Well worth the extra money. No problem receiving credit from Amazon. Very pleased with other products I have purchased from Amazon.
Not worth your time or money! The saw needs a better blower for the saw dust. The saw does not cut well when you turn the wood during the cut it does not always cut strait. There are much better scroll saws than delta. If you do buy a scroll saw it is much better to go to a store and try it out first then shop around!
China Made Machines! This scroll saw came with an upper arm clamp that sat on a 5 degree angle. The mounting area for the clamp was finished off crudely on a belt sander. I also had to straighten the upper blade clamping lever. It was bent in so far that it could not clamp the blade. Even though Delta made good on this and sent a replacement arm within 5 days. This is the second Delta machine that I own. The other is the 12" diameter disk sander. I had problems with that one too. I believe that you can expect problems with Delta's made in China. They just haven't achieved good quality control as of yet.
I was pleased, however, with Amazon's return policy.
