Not what it appears...Before I purchased this wheel dresser, I had a round carbo stick that did a good job of removing material but still hard to get a flat square surface.
What you can't see from the picture is that this Delta wheel dresser has a square cross section and is coated with diamond "dust".
While this may seem like a good idea since it would flatten a tall area of grinding wheel at one time, it turns out to not work so well since the grinding wheel is moving so quickly. A thin line of material would be easier to manage as the inch tall cutting surface can be difficult to control (too much bite).
Also of note, the diamond coating on the one I recieved is not flat. There are highspots that leave tiny vertical grooves in my wheel -- especially the white friable wheel.
This is not so good as one typically uses a wheel dresser to remove grooves.
In general I'm dissapointed with this item. I'm not so sure it's better than the carbo stick I bough from sears. I think next time I'll try a wheel dresser from a specialty company like Lee Valley Tool instead a large generic tool manufacturer like Delta.

Not to my ExpectationsWhile the speed of cutting the 3/4" oak is great, the accuracy is not as precise as expected. The blade tends to wander with the grain of the oak, following the path of least resistance. I tried various different blade tension and blade guide adjustments, but the 1/8" blade would still wander about. It makes a great rough cut, but not precise enough to be the final cut, even for a 2 inch radius cut, yet alone the claimed 3/16" radius rating.
Thinking I was doing something wrong with the blade settings, I've had several other woodworkers over to take a look and offer suggestions. They have come up with the same results. The scrollsaw is not as fast cutting, but in the long run, it's single precise cut with no rework is must faster.
I will continue to play with the 1/8" blade to get it to work the way it is advertised for the small radius cuts, but in the meantime, my bandsaw will mainly have a 3/4" resaw blade installed.

Terrible blades
- 120 Grit
- Pre-cut to proper length for replacing abrasives on 31-250 wide drum sander
- Four per package

120 grit on the Delta makes for a rough finishI would expect about the only use for 120 grit would be the removal of a significant amount of material on a wide panel. Something that would not fit in a planer. Otherwise go with the planer then finish off with 220 on the Delta.

Suitable for do-it-yourselfers
There is nothing wrong with this tool. The casting is heavy and the screw operates smoothly. The main issue is that it is a pain to attach to the drill press table and also a pain to make adjustments to once it is attached. Also, the jaws are a bit too narrow for a lot of what I might use the thing for...
Basically its a bad idea that is really well made. If you can think of a good use for it, then by all means buy it for its quality and price - otherwise forget it.
