Delta 42-090 Shaper CutterI was pleased with the order page description of the shaper cutter. The cutter works well in pine and seems to be a quality tool. I would order other available shaper cutters.

Better than buying an expensive router table!If you already have the Delta Shaper this stub spindle fits

Fit and finish of the accessory was very, very good. No idea if it is made offshore, but given Delta's track record the last few years it wouldn't surprise me. Nonetheless, it it a well made accessory and given the amount of machining to make it the price

The stability and usability of the Delta shaper is far superior
to any router table setup I've seen yet. This accessory will let
you leverage your collection of router bits and avoid the high cost of seldom used shaper cutters.
Amazon was a little slower than usual getting me this item, but
then hardly any other online tool source could even order it! Kudos to Amazon for getting me this fine addition to my tool collection.

safetydear amazon, if you sell a 1 1/4 delta shaper spindle i would assume you would sell the delta 1 1/4 safe guard shaper spindle guard as well. In though iwas going too buy 1 1/4 spindle but you havent the guard. best small lathe availableIt may cost more than those cheap lathes you see at Menards, but it is worth every penny. I've had my midi lathe for over two years now and have subjected it to all types of turning abuse. To date it still works perfectly and I have never had any problems with it.
One of my favorite features of the lathe is its very sturdy construction. Even on flimsy surfaces it is heavy enough to stop most vibrations from affecting the piece. I know Delta's name has come to mean less and less over the years, but if you can find one of these used somewhere, it would definately be worth it.
On the down side, I've used the tiny chisel set maybe 3 times. And they are TINY. Even turning things as small as 2" tops makes me feel like some of them might break. Don't use these as an excuse not to go get real lathe tools.

Great plate for turning.I have used these plates for turning wood bowls in the past, and I have found nothing that I like better. I successfully turned an 18 inch oak bowl by mounting it onto this base plate. (I have to admit I was surprised at how beautiful it turned out, since it was my second major attempt at turning bowls)
I STRONGLY recommend purchasing this plate if you are planning on doing any serious bowl turning, since if you use a smaller plate the bowl may become detached when you apply pressure with the chisels, leaving you with a waste of time rather than a piece of art.

Makes the saw betterI have a 10" Unisaw and not a lot of room. I ordered this base expecting to gain mobility but got a little more. My saw has no leveling feet and therefore needed a shim to make it stable on my not so level garage floor. The weight of the saw combined with the rubber feet on the moble base make it stable anywhere in the garage without further adjustment. To move it I just have to step on the lever and the saw easily rolls wherever I want it.
To mount the saw on the base, I have an easy method that takes two people and not a lot of muscle. There isn't enough room here to explain it but you can e-mail me and I will gladly fill you in.
