Be aware that the listed width in Amazon is wrong the true inside dimensions are 21" x 35-3/4". I built a router table to put on this mobile base using the stated wrong demensions in Amazon. I hope this info keeps you from the mistake I made. As for the base, I like them this is the third one I have.

Bought the mobile base for my older 10" contractor saw,it is awesome very solid and well built, worth ever penny.

If you have this planer you need this chip collector. It works, it fits, It's easy to install, you'll get a better cut without the chips flying all around getting caught between the knife and your lumber. It's cheap. I have had this planner for 10 years I should have got the hood sooner. You will need an adapter if your not set-up for four inch collection.

Made out of plastic and fits very well to planer. I would choose this one over the metal one with different part numbers any day. I also bought a adapter for a 1.5 shop vac and this does not fit to the 5" outlet because both parts are 5" so I duct tape the adapter on the 5" outlet on the planer connect.

I have had shop vaccuum's and other dust collectors gathering saw dust from my shop tool's and this is the best one yet! I use this primarily on my 5 hp. table saw and what a difference. I get very little to no dust coming from the saw. I'm working on getting a dust collector arm that goes over the blade and that will get all of the dust. I'm very happy with the quality of the product and would suggest it to any small to med. work shop. the canister works great, and you can see when to dump the bag. Just don't through the clear bag away, they are not cheap. The noise is less than the other tools that I am using at the time, and if you have other tools by delta, this will match nicely.

If you are like me and use your shop more then once a week and have more then just a table saw you might want to purchase this tool. I bought a 1hp collector and use that for some machines at the other side of the shop, However, most of my tools are located on one side of my basement. So I desided to spend some money and save time, agravation, and complaining from family members. I now have this in a seperate room (because of the noise) and have run metal ducking all along the one side/ middle of my shop. With the help of blast gates and different conectors I have reduced my clean up time by %90. I also have alot less dust on my tools. I have my 14in bandsaw, router, shaper, radial saw, tablesaw, sander, planer, and jointer all conected to this machine. Now don't miss interperate this, you can't have all the gates open to all the tools at the same time. At most I have 3-4 gates open at a time with significant dust collection. If you want to get a good, time saving machine I suggest buying this one. And everyone knows that Delta make some of the best tools on the market.

I am setting up a REAL basement workshop for building furniture and needed a top notch solution to allow indoor sanding. This machine is what you would expect from Delta -- very substantial and solid. Decent air flow, combined with the curtains, directs the dust to the removeable dust filter. At 31" by 31", and with the moveable dust curtains, you can handle almost anything in the realm of furniture. If you loved Erector Sets as a kid, you will also love assembling the 50-855 -- with some 75 sets of bolts, nuts, and washers -- straightforward, but 1 to 2 hours to set up. Overall, a great addition for any woodworker who recognizes the importance of dust control!

I've had my 1 HP dust collector for about two years now. Overall I've been very happy with it. Assembly was straight forward without any missing hardware or other nasty surprises. Fit and finish of all parts is very good to excellent. The
assembly/use instructions are quite adequate. The zip lock
plastic bag for storing the manual/parts breakdown is a nice touch. Like the vast majority of my Delta tools it did NOT
require a phone call to their customer service to get it up and
running. Having said that you DO need to set aside a couple of
hours to assemble the pup..there are a LOT of bolt/washer/nut
connections to make. Should be a one person assembly operation-nothing is really too heavy for the average woodworker to handle
alone.

It is a well made unit which will obviously serve the needs of the small shop user for many, many years.

In operation it does an outstanding job of sucking up airborne
sanding dust and debris. Out of habit I still wear a dust mask,

but I really think it isn't necessary. In a confined area it is a little noisy (not as bad as a cheap vacuum though) and you might want to consider ear protection especially if you're going to use it all day.

Nit picks: (1) the dust filter-glued-to-a-tray needs to be changed to something where a standard 1" industrial filter can be used. Even though the original filter will last for years with care, the purchase price for a replacement is just too high.

(2) The curtain surrounding the top is a little awkward to use if you put the dust collector up against a side wall.

(3) Why aren't all of the holes in the top fitted with grommets?
Gosh, these things cost maybe a dime a piece..surely that extra
expense wouldn't have broken the budget! You can take one of your grommets to a decent hardware store (forget the big box places.the 16 year old kid working there has no idea what a grommet is..) and get enough to fill the rest of the holes for
little more than pocket change.

All nit picks are very minor and in no way detract from my overall satisfaction. I've been given to understand that Delta is moving production for this item offshore too-so if you want a Made in the USA one you'd better hurry up and buy it!

BTW: The fan powering this beast is very, very strong. All of air entering the top exits the bottom...don't be surprised if
you find out your floor is NOT as clean as you think it is as it
blows up dust from under the machine.

If you can use a white faucet this unit(including the price-which is 25 dollars less than I paid) is a super deal and a beautiful addition to any kitchen

all in all this saw has the power, features, and even has a compound capability. honestly this saw has side tapped holes for the table extension and everything. A GREAT VALUE. Just the basic's are needed on these saws for any level of Do-It-Yourselfer. Just take this in to consideration i own one i use it in a professional setting daily, see i'm a 10 year carpenter. just remember keep those saw blades sharp and happy cutting. ENJOY SINCERLY, S.A. Who says you need to spend a lot of money to get a high quality miter saw? This saw is just incredible. It has plenty of power and will slice through anything you throw at it. It has plenty of features, like side extentions and a clamp. And it comes with a 2 year warranty. If you want a high quality compound miter saw but you don't want to spend tons of money, this is the saw for you. you won't be dissapointed!
