Good solid and dependable air compressor.
A little on the heavy side to be extremely portable but still acceptable given the power and capacity.
A worthy buy.

I bought this little guy to occasionally run my finish nailer, blow some sawdust around, and pump up a low tire every now and then. My review may not give you the info you need if you plan on using it hard. I will say it does appear to be built pretty well.

My only problem with it when it arrived was a leak in the plastic line that equalizes the pressure between the tanks. It was easy to fix. Because the fittings use air pressure to seal themselves, you can pull the line right out of the fitting when there is no pressure in the tanks. It just slips out of the O-ring in the fitting. There was a tiny chip of metal in the fitting causing the leak, so I just wiped it off and pushed the plastic line back in. Works fine and the leak is no more!

The controls are nice and easy to use, and the single handle makes it easy to carry the Emglo in one hand and the hose in the other when changing locations. One caution: Don't burn yourself on the hot intake head!

This Compressor is the standard on all the job sites I have been on. Mainly because they are tough and durable. Tossed around, pushed off a truck, even run over by a truck. I've seen this compressor survive some serious blows (pardon the pun). Emglo is the way to go with compressors.

I own a construction business and have had this compressor for a couple of years and it works non-stop without flaw. It has the power to run many nail guns simaltaneously without a drop in power and has never failed to start. As soon as you take it out of the box you can see the quality and precision that went into the manufacturing

I just got this from Amazon and so far I am really impressed. It is very well built, the controls work smoothly and, like every Honda engine I have owned, it started right up. It comes completely assembled ! All you need to add is compressor oil, motor oil and gasoline. It sits low to the ground so is pretty stable (how many times have you pulled over one of the high riding compressors when you tried to get just a few more inches away. It rolls around pretty well but is a little tough on very rough ground.

Bravo to Amazon.com. for offering such an excellent air compressor. I must admit, at first I thought the price was kind of costly, but the Emglo reputation finally convinced me to purchase. Once I received my compressor I have been nothing but completely satisfied. The usefulness is well worth the price. I am in the business where an air compressor is worth its weight in gold. And in the past I have seen several bargain compressors do their job but suffer and die within a years time. A friend of mine turned me on to Emglo and I have praised him ever since. Believe me you cannot go wrong.

I love this little tank, strong, secure, quiet, well designed, and good workmanship. It runs all day without care. The dual hookups and gauges are a nice feature, the hoses aren't anchored to the tank plumbing like on most portables

I've been running it indoors, and although it isn't exactly quiet, it makes less noise than I expected. Also, it has yet to trip a 15 amp breaker (something I was concerned about). The controls are really well placed and the dual quick connects are awesome. My finish and brad nailers hardly even make it run. I debated between oil and oil-less, and now I know I made the right decision.

I have several compressors, but since this is light and runs on 15 am circuits it is the preference for small volume needs such as small nail guns, tires and especially jobs where transporting the compressor is required. It performed almost flawlessly for more than a decade - the exception being cold weather performance - they start poorly (or not at all) when cold. Also, one should be aware that they only produce a limited SCFM and are suitable for only low CFM applications. Example, a framer and helper will easily outrun the production capability of the compressor with one gun.

Now to my issue. On a hot day with poor air circulation the motor start capacitor blew. Since this was the only issue with the tool I decided it made sense to repair. Big mistake. My standard motor repair shop wouldn't touch it. The Emglo repair center wanted an exhorbitant amount for the capacitor ($$). I bought an equivelent capacitor over the web ($$ +s&h) only to have that blow after about a month of use under hard load. The time I spent calling around and shopping for the replacement part far exceeded the value of simply replacing the compressor unit. And of course now I now have low confidence in the reliability.

And this is my big issue with these direct drive units. The advantages of convenience, weight and maintenance free performance come at a price. They are simply not serviceable. Expect a few years of use and then replacement when the first major component fails.

I can't say enough good things about this design. I have several units in daily service with the oldest being over 10 years now. Thst unit has been [everywhere] and back more than once, and it keeps on going. I'm almost going out of my way to kill this thing and it just won't die. I'll never buy anything but Emglo.

I HAVE OWNED TWO OF THESE WONDERFUL EMGLOW COMPRESSERS AND THE ONE I AM USING HAS RAN FOR FIVE YEAR THE ONLY TROUBLE I HAVE EVER HAD WAS WITH THE PRESURE TUBE THAT RUNS TO THE CONTROL VALVE POPED OFF AND I HAD TO REPLACE THE PLASTIC 1/4 HOSE WITH A NEW COPPER ONE TOTAL COST OF ZIP . DOWN TIME ZIP DAY IN AND OUT YEAR AFTER YEAR ENOUGH AIR TO RUN TWO FRAMERS AT A GOOD RATE OF PACE . THIS IS A TROUBLE FREE LIGHT WEIGHT COMPRESSER THAT WON'T HURT YOUR BACK HAULING IT IN AND OUT OF THE TRUCK DAY AFTER DAY FOR YEARS . I used this compressor for six months and have run it to death. It still runs great, now I use the MK2A8P-DVS and I love them both. I build houses and run two or three nailers and a staple gun. The little one could not keep up with the added work load so I had to move up.

So i am use to heavy lifting,but this comoressor is the most heaviest,awkward to move around.Within two weeks of using it started falling apart on me .The hardware that holds the power cord is so inadequate,it is unbeleviable.They use a regular romex connector to hold a 10-3 cord.Needless to say i have to put it back together about every two weeks.Now let get to the real engineering feet,the mounting hardware that holds the compressor unit to the frame.There is four or five 3/16 nuts that hold it on which i have to put back on every other week.This is the worst set up i have ever seen,i am so dissapointed in Emglo product.I have bought them for years and was always satisfied.I was thingking of selling it but i would not feel good about giving my problems to someone else .I`ve built many houses for people aand always felt good walking away because i knew i did a good job . It`s called pride.

Just received my M990 compressor after my local small engine repair shop recommended it over others. Good news is seems to be everything it was perported to be. Plenty of power, great pressure and set up for two air hoses right out of the box. Bad news is that it only ran for about ten minutes before I had a problem with it. Seems an internal pressure valve must have gotten a piece of trash in it and it wouldn't release enough pressure to allow the motor to restart. Called the 1-800 service number and rep. provided excellent assistance, bottom line however is that it needed to go to the local repair shop for warranty work. Would also note that when they recommend a 20 amp circuit for this unit, they mean it. On my 15 amp circuit, lights dim each time it starts up. Also, the unit is about at the limit of what one would reasonably call portable. It's heavy and awkward to carry. Made me almost regret not getting a wheeled unit.

I am a roofer and I am constantly running two roofing nailers off my compressor. This compressor is great for the fact that it can keep up with two proffesional roofers all day long. It seems to drink the oil and has a hard time getting started on really cold days. Emglo needs to come up with a better idea for the air filter, it's cheap plastic that breaks and comes off every time it is slightly bumped. I've had to replace the air filter on mine three times now. Other than that I run my compressor all day long with no major mechanical problems.

Upon inspection the AM700 is clearly a consumer model compressor. The price is very good but I wouldn't expect the run time that we see with the am78 pump assemblies used on the AM780 and the M790's. The 700 has a visibly less expensive cylinder and motor assembly. It also requires more oil than the am78 pump, not to mention the cheezy air filter. I wouldn't expect this unit to survive on the construction site as the 780's and 790's have in the past years. Although as a consumer model I believe this unit is far superior to an oiless compressor.

I will give Emglo credit for finally packaging oil with their hand carry units.
