Work Fine Costs Too MuchThe Fein Multi Master is a great tool for getting the job done in awkward situations. The blades cost too much and I would like to see after market reasonably priced blades available.
Contractor in Richmond, VAI use the Fein Multimaster almost daily in my contracting business, and have found it to be one of the most useful tools on my truck. I use it primarily for cutting out areas of wood rot, and it does this with almost surgical precision! In my opinion, the Universal E Cut blades are a significant improvement over the other E Cut blades that have a Japanese saw tooth pattern. The tooth pattern on the Universal Blade looks similar to a hacksaw blade, but even with the smaller teeth it seems to cut through wood more quickly than the larger Japanese pattern. The Universal Blades are also less expensive, and will cut through nails you encounter with ease. The other more expensive E Cut blades shatter when you are unlucky enough to encounter a nail, brick or concrete surface. I would like to see Fein offer some wider versions of this superior blade design, and re-evaluate their pricing strategy for all of their blades.

Thin Sandpaper Hook&Loop PadLike all Fein products this is a quality product. That said, it is none the less expensive (like all Fein products). It does a great job while it lasts but for what it costs it should last longer.

project managerI've found nothing better for removing tile grout. We can clean at least 10 standard tile tub surrounds with each blade - more or less. About $10 a surround. I'd like to know if something better (faster and longer lasting) exists.

180g reviewI find that the Fein sander is the best detail sander out there, but I have come to the conclusion that when sanding with this machine, one needs to keep in mind that it is a very aggressive sanding machine. What I'm trying to say is when you sand figure on using a finer grit. If you want 150grit use 180Grit and so on.

DescriptionFrom searching elsewhere, it seeems that this is a 16 foot x 1.25 inch hose. It must be a replacement for the one that comes with the vacuum. I don't actually have an opinion about how good it is, so ignore my 4 star rating.

Superior Qualty HoseI have used ordinary "shop vac" hoses in my contracting work. This hose is a "step up" in quality - more sturdy and slightly more flexible. It is an improvement from ordinary vac hoses.

Great for 5 minutesI use my Fein Multitool for detail sanding for the most part so these sanding pads are indespensible. I love everything about the tool save for these. They wear out almost imediately. The problem is heat build-up at the corners. The hooks and substrate are plastic, with little resistance to heat. I've tried using less pressure and frequent paper changes (which does help a little) but the fact remains that these velco sanding pads are the weak link in an otherwise stellar system. I'll still use the tool because it's great, and I'll still buy these pads because there's no alternative, but I'll piss and moan about the fact that one must buy about as many of these expensive things as the paper that goes on them!
Fein velcro sanding pad - how to use this necessary evilThe velcro is the weak element of these pads. But of course it's the velcro that makes the pads, which are otherwise well made, so convenient. You can easily destroy one of these expensive things in minutes-- while thinking how cautious you're being. So resign yourself. There's a way to avoid it, but it takes care and control:
Let the tool and unworn sandpapers do the work. Do NOT bear down.
Avoid using the tips if you can use the edges, avoid using the edges if you can use the whole surface (This is obvious, but keep repeating it to yourself).
Invest in sandpapers of the graded grits that span the needs of your projects; in use, resist skipping grades; they exist for good reason.
Rotate the tips (and yep, the edges will follow) frequently, BEFORE they are worn. Heat build-up can damage the pad underneath long before the paper is done for. Rotating allows you to inspect the pad (and paper) while letting it cool some. If possible, use two different sides or edges by shifting your grip.
A note on the sandpaper: If you are sanding painted surfaces, especially at corners and joints, the paper will clog quickly, and more so if you are not using coarse enough grit; so, inspect several times per minute. Frequent use of a small wire brush can help unclog the paper. And repeat, "Rotate".
Tell yourself that despite the high cost of pads and sandpaper it's still worth it-- if you follow best practices -- in time saved, work reduced and results. improved.

Noone told me.....NOWHERE!!!!!!! does it say you have to OWN a FEIN power tool to use this friggin overpriced krap blade to use it. This is FALSE advertising in the truest sense if you ask me. I think, oh, maybe I should look into a Fein powertool to use my new $40 blade that has its own limited lifetime......well....the powertool that you have to have to use this little gem costs over $350+ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL
Grout Removal BladeThis blade is a must if grout is to be removed where a bad ceramic tile is to be replaced. First, use this blade to cut away the grout around the tile piece. Second, use a hammer drill or hammer and chisel to break the tile, working at the center and moving to the edges. Third, cleanup the mastic/thinset using any or all of these tools.
