Freud Review Forrest or Freud
I was searching Amazon's prices on Freud products when I noticed the reviews for this blade. Don't think of yourself as settling for Freud's blades because Forrest cost too much. The carbides will stand up to "mild" abuse on a Freud, but with a Forrest expect to pay $ when the unexpected happens. The $ is my local cost for a replacement carbide & service. This review goes for all full kerf blades, thin kerf is for under the coffee cup!

Freud Review Great saw blade
Does averything I hoped it would do , very stable have cut plywood, oak ply, pine solid oak works great with all.

Freud Review awesome product
I haven't used it for crosscutting yet, but when ripping, you can't tell that the edge wasn't ran over a jointer. In fact, sometimes it's even better.

Freud Review Great blade
I am a trim carpenter and cabinet maker and a good saw blade can make or break a job. I put this blade on my unisaw to rip up 800 feet of Hickory style material and this blade purred right through it. No hesitation, just quick cuts. Now i read some reviews that said jointing wasnt necessary. I would have to disagree. I still needed to joint. For a good ripping blade at a reasonable price, this one cant be beat.

Freud Review Smooth cutting rip blade
Smooth cuts from a ripping blade is almost a contradiction of terms, but this one cuts smoothly enough to make mention of. It's not quite as clean as my 40T Forrest WWII general purpose blade or my Freud 60T crosscut blade, but it is clean enough to make good on the promise of glue line joints. The LM74 is a bit of a compromise between an aggressive 24T FTG ripping blade and a 40T ATB general purpose blade, offering cleaner cuts than the 24T and better ripping than the 40T. Because it's a full kerf blade, it does slow my saw a bit on thick stock > 2". The triple chip grind (TCG) carbide teeth have the most durable grind available, making it an excellent choice for laminate flooring, MDF, aluminum, and other tough materials that tend to dull blades. Wish it were available in a thin kerf.

Freud Review Glue Line
I do not want any other rip blade. I have been using this blade for several years now and the effeciency of this blade is superb.

Freud Review Freud saw blades
I have been buying freud blades for over 15 years and i have found them to be the best value and quality for my restoration business.

Freud Review First blade purchase!
First let me start off by saying i'm just getting into woodcutting.Just purchased a 1938 #1160 delta-millwaukee tilt top table saw.Saw had very dull blade, such as you could ride up-town on it and never get even a scratch from it.Started looking at blades online and came up with this one, being one of the better one's at a very reasonable price and from a well known maker.Blade is to be one of best for ripping & crosscuting, have cut both ways and say i absolutely agree! Have cut hard wood, soft wood, plywood,it makes no difference. Will give you a nice smooth finish type cut.I'm sure looking at cuts, this blade will give you finish cut as good as a lot of others & better than some.

Freud Review Hokey smokes!
I have read a lot of reviews about how great such-and-such a blade is compared to some other blade. I figured that while most of what was written was probably true, a good chunk of it was probably the same sort of bunk that you hear from folks who consider themselves audiophiles - all talk and no substance mixed in with a lot of pseudoscience. In other words, Bunk with a capital B.

Well, I needed to get a blade for an old saw I am restoring, so I bought one of the TK906 blades. Everything good you hear about the blade is 100% true!

I am pretty new to woodworking, so still have the blades that came with the tools. I am used to having to wear hearing protection when sawing. I was completely amazed when I did a test cut with the TK906 - instead of a very loud "skeeraach!" sound that I am used to, I heard "bzzzzzzzzzzzzt". The blasted motor and arbor turning on the saw makes more noise than the blade cutting!

Once I inspected the cut that's what really sold me. Granted, 99% of the cut is having the blade aligned properly (and I go for a perfect alignment), but the cut I got was ridiculous - perfectly flat, smooth, no tear out. Close inspection showed very little in the way of teeth marks - they are there, but are miniscule.

I know there are some more expensive blades out on the market, but I can't see how they would be worth the added expense. Maybe they are, but it is awfuly hard to improve on cuts like I am getting.

Freud Review Decent Blade for crosscutting and plywood
I'd give this a 4.5 if I could. I only rates a 4 for crosscutting. It does a nice job, but nothing outstanding. For sheetgoods, however, it makes extremely nice cuts without any tearout. I've cut baltic birch plywood, MDF, MDO and perfect cuts every time. For these, I'd give it a 5.

Freud Review Cuts like butter
I've had a Freud ripping blade on my table saw for quite a while and have been impressed. So when I got tired of the raw cuts from my SCMS (that's Sliding Compound Mitre Saw) I bought the Freud LU91M010 60 tooth blade on and it cuts like butter. No tear out and glides across the board. I upgraded from some 40 tooth dewalt crosscut blade that was probably more suited for construction. (...)it is a pretty good deal compared to the forest. I didn't get the teflon version because every one complains that it doesn't do anything but put read paint on your wood.

Freud Review great blade
I bought this blade based on reviews here after looking at several much more expensive blades. I've been using it to trim out a house in a very cheap (Delta MS250) mitre saw and it has really exceeded all my expectations. I've made hundreds of cuts in PFJ millwork with almost zero tearout. I've since bought a couple other Freud blades that I've been very happy with. I do have to say that I am a noob at this and my only other hands on experience is with the blades that came in my saws (all cheap ones!)

Freud Review Outstanding!
I mounted this blade in my Milwaukee tilt-lok circular saw and have used it with great success make a lot of splinter free cuts in sheet stock. I often find that the cuts are as good as I get with a top of the line hybrid table saw. I am most impressed with the results I get cutting oak veneered plywood and MDO. I have not experienced one bit of kick back so I don't know what the problem was with that other reviewer. The blade does indicate that it will not perform as well on rip cuts so I avoid those and use it exclusively for cross-cutting panels and breaking down sheet goods into manageable pieces.

I highly recommend this blade for finish work and fine woodworking applications.

Freud Review Great for Veneers
Being somewhat of a novice woodworker, I first tried the standard blade on my Makita circular saw to cut a piece of veneered wood... well, I don't have to tell you what happened.

This Freud blade did the trick beautifully. Clean, smooth cut with no chipping. Fantastic! (and i didn't encounter the kickback problem the other reviewer ran into)

Freud Review Amazing blade for the price
This blade produces smooth, chip-free cuts in plywood as well as silky smooth rips and crosscuts. I've used this blade on soft woods such as white pine as well as quartersawn oak and the edge left by this blade is remarkable. Nearly as good as the 80-tooth Freud TKR806 on my table saw.

I have no idea why another reviewer had problems with kicking back. I have had no problems with this little gem, or any other Freud products for that matter. Highly recommended.

Freud Review Laminate Wood Saw Blade
Installed laminate flooring in front room, dinning room, hallway and bedroom. Blade made perfect cut after cut. This blade is a must for laminate flooring. I do not know how many cuts I made but on the last cut there were still no burrs or splinterd ends. Every cut was smooth and clean.

Freud Review Perfectly does what it advertises
Seldom do I get something that does exactly what the advertising claims. For example, the Forrest Chopmaster was not the be-all and end-all of miter saw blades - certainly did not outperform the Dewalt 80T blade (at half the price) it replaced. But I digress....

This blade makes perfectly chip-free cuts through melamine particle board and birch or maple veneer plywood - exactly as advertised. It doesn't rip through them like the blade I use with hardwoods, but then that blade makes a total mess of melamine in particular. If you are working with laminates or veneer plywood, this will give you a perfectly finished edge on your cut. Who could ask for more? Me - I want a dado stack with these on the outside....

Freud Review Awesome Blade!
I purchased this blade to cut 3/4" laminated MDF to make shelves. I wanted to use this material so that I didn't have to paint them. I was worried about chipping, so I bought this blade. Both sides of the laminate remained chip free on both rip and crosscuts. The cut lines were extremely smooth. The blade is whisper quiet too. I'm sold! I'm tossing my 40T blade that came with my saw and I'm purchasing the Freud 50T combo blade.

Freud Review Like Butter!
If I've ever had proof that spending a few more $ for quality is worth it, this is it. Bought for project calling for 4 sheets of 3/4 plywood. Am using Asian Birch plywood. Almost all crosscutting being done with Milwaukee circ saw and now this blade. Wow! The saw glides (I mean realy glides) through the cut and with no splintering! I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Freud Review Great Blade!
This blade is excellent! Very smooth cuts on birch cabinet grade plywood.

Freud Review Great Blade for Home Trim Projects!
Why haven't I heard of Frued Blades before. This is the best trim blade I have ever purchased. I cut the bottom off all my doors (26 in all), never nicked a single door. Can't wait until my next trim project!

Freud Review Excellent Bit
This is an excellent bit. I have used it for frame-making so far--what a smooth finish! My only concern is the max speed rating, because my router runs at a fixed 23,000 rpm rate. Since I am running it faster than recommended, I have been making several thin shavings. This has worked fine, although I am still considering a new router with adjustable speed settings.

Freud Review panel bit
Checked all reveiews on this 3-1/2" bit with some mixed feelings, bought the bit anyway. I used it making raised panels for a chest, and what a job it did. No rough edges or fuzz and this was in pine.Be prepaired for a lot of dust and chips above your table, but it worked great.

Freud Review Glass Smooth, Glass Smooth, Glass Smooth
I bought this bit as part of Freuds cabinet making set. I hooked it up to a table that I have Bosch's 3 1/4hp plunge router mounted to. I forgot about the necessity of setting the speed slower to accommodate larger bits and sent the 3/4" piece of oak sailing through at the full setting. Out came a silky smooth panel. It didn't chip, sputter, kick, wobble, or even slow down the router. I wonder what it would be like if it wasn't a brand new bit with a fresh edge on it. Anyhow, I use the bit now at a slower speed setting, and make multiple passes.
Freuds cabinet making set is so well made, that their is little motivation to pick up a shaper. Shapers are known for 10,000 RPMs, thereby creating panels in a single pass that are smooth.
I have never bought a bad Freud bit. Them and Whiteside are my pride and joys. I also recommend picking up an inexpensive carbide tipped set on eBay that are imported. You can get a large selection of profiles and types for the cost of a couple of bits. When making painted moldings for example, you don't need the ultimate in sheen on the wood surface. Although with the dollar conversion and the daily monetary needs overseas, it is amazing how much quality can be produced for such a little bit of money.
Freud and Whiteside are the best, although their are several manufacturers, such as CMT and Viper that are quality bits as well. This Freud cabinet making bit is worthy of your best projects. Buy it you won't be sorry.

Freud Review Chip out
I am using this blade on my basic Dewalt 10" Mitre Saw and when cutting Maple I get a really smooth front side cut but I am experienceing quite a bit of chip out on the backside. I also get some chip out on the side which is really unacceptable.

Freud Review Smooooooooth!
I bought this blade in order to use in my new table saw, based largely on the reviews here, and Freud's reputation. I was not disappointed. while working on a project, I used it in my miter saw, on oak. the cuts were silky smooth, and required almost no finishing. I was so impressed, I have replaced ALL of my blades with Freud and intend to buy nothing else in the future. Try it, You can't go wrong!

Freud Review Made my day
I bought this blade on the recommendation of my brother who is a professional woodworker. My miter saw is a 25 year old Dewalt, that is feeling it's age. This blade has made an old saw cut like a new one. It makes beautiful cuts on hardwoods, with minimal chip out and it's thin kerf design prevents "stalling". I cut quite a bit of thick material with the saw, and the Freud blade really makes a differance. Not having to spend time "cleaning" up miter cuts really makes my day. I would recommend this blade to anyone who needs a great cutoff blade at a small price.

Freud Review Heavy Duty Equipment
I've used my new Freud FT2000 a few times now (all freehand), and can confirm what the others have written. The power that this router has is impressive, but comes at the expense of being a bit heavy. However, I don't think any other 3 1/4 HP router has overcome that problem either. On the plus side, this heft gives the impression that this router will be in my workshop for many years.

My major complaint about this router is the depth-stop mechanism. It has a "quick-set" feature that allows you to press a button which releases the threaded stop rod, allowing you to quickly move the rod up and down. Once you release the button, the threads are reengaged and you can then turn the rod to make fine adjustments. The problem is the button that releases the rod, doesn't hold the rod well once it is engaged causing your depths to vary after several cuts.

Freud Review Powerful, Easy to use.
After looking at many routers, using several, I bought a Freud. For the price, you cannot Go Wrong. When it arrived, the Left handle was broken/cracked, but still usable. The next day I called Freud (not the number in the manual, Use 800-334-4107)and they promised to send me a replacement immediately. I cannot say how long it will take to get here, I just talked to them an hour ago. Will post parts arrival time when it arrives. Anyway, the soft start is great, and it plows through oak with ease. The collet reducer they ship..throw it away and buy the 1/4 collet and another nut. The edge guide (I reviewed it as well), don't waste your money if you are doing precision work, buy a Micro Fence if your budget can afford it. I would buy the router again, but I don't think I'll ever need to.
Added 5 days later: New left grip arrived uneventfully via US mail, fit perfectly.

Freud Review Blue Light Special - Freud FT2000
A 3 1/4 HP plunge router - at this price point - with the features this one has. It's like a blue light special!

I bought this router approximately 4 years ago because I needed a large plunge router to table mount. The Frued FT2000 seemed to be a logical choice because of the standard features (especially the extra long height adjustment knob) and the price.
I have never regretted this purchase.

During those four years I have built numerous projects using this router. It remains table mounted approximately 95% of the time and has all the power and adjustment I need to turn even large panel raising bits.

I have used this router as a hand held, but it IS large and heavy. While these attributes are actually desirable in a table mounted router (large mass = reduced vibration), they can be tiresome for hand held use.

If you are looking for a light weight router for freehand use, look at something smaller. However, if you are looking for a powerful, heavy duty router to table mount, you could pay much more, but.. why would you want to?
