Two-speed worth the extra costThe Milwaukee 2.4-Volt cordless Screwdrivers are the best on the market. They have awesome power and lock the bit when off so that you can turn the whole unit like a thick screwdriver. However, skip this unit over and get the 2 speed. The small extra cost is well worth the functionality of the two speed unit.

great vacuum!!!!Having had this vacuum for almost a year now I have no regrets. It has been through a lot in a short amount of time and has just kept going. My only problem is one of the wheels broke off but it was my mistake.

No free lunchI got my circular saw as a "freebee" for buying the bandsaw. IF you do this watch out because if you buy two batteries, a charger and case you will exceed the price of the "saw kit" with all those items. My saw also did not come with the supposedly supplied wrench for blade changes. Not sure if this was an oversight or another thing you don't get with the freebee. But... what beaks my heart is that there is no storage place on the saw for the wrench. So based on previous experience it will take my guys about 2 seconds to lose the wrench. Some time ago, for corded saws, we selected Porter Cable circulars just because they had storage slot on the saw for the wrench (and come in left and right versions). We have yet to loose a wrench and blade changes are made more often and the job site is safer. After a brief use the performance of the saw seems okay. Heavier than its 18V cousins but charge does last longer. I was able to cut 14 2x8 rafter tails with 1 charge.

Batteries are terribleAfter being a loyal Milwaukee customer for many years, things at this company have changed. Approximatley 15 months ago I purchased the 14.4 drill. It came with a nice case and two batteries, along with a charger. The first 6 months everything was fine, however I started to notice that the batteries would wear down after 40 minutes of intermittment use. I only used the drill a couple of times per month. Now, after 15 months, the batteries are completley dead and will not accept a charge. Milwaukee told me batteries are out of warranty and offered no help, even after I explained that the drill is only 15 months old. I paid 179.00 for the whole kit and the new batteries are 65.00 per battery. The drill is now useless. Milwaukee has no idea as to the loyal and steady customer they have lost, all over some batteries. I would have accepted only one battery from them, but they didnt even offer that. I am done with Milwaukee. No wonder the Japense companies are doing so well. We Americans who try and buy American products are tired of companies who dont appreciate our business or loyalty. Next time I will try Panosonic.
Sturdy & comfortable, but short of torque at timesOverall, I am very pleased with the Milwaukee 14.4V 1/2" drill/driver. The construction is very sturdy. I accidentally dropped mine from an 8-foot ladder last year onto my concrete garage floor. At the time, I had a magnetic screw bit in the chuck which served to increase the bending force on the tool when it hit the concrete. The battery pack popped off. I re-inserted the battery and the tool has continued to operate normally.
The handle is comfortable and well balanced. I've had good luck with the battery packs. I use a pack until the drill begins to slow down and then pop it into the standard charger. No battery problems whatsoever over the two years that I have owned the tool.
On torque - I have had mixed results. I've used the tool to put hundreds of screws through Hardibacker down to subfloor with excellent results. However, I recently experienced what feels like a slipping clutch when trying to put 2-1/2" coarse-thread drywall screws into studs in a difficult position where I could not bear down on the drill with my full weight.
I like the tool, though when I eventually buy a new drill, it will be a beefier 18/19V or 28V tool.

possible fix for dead batteriesdrill works great with a lot of torque. i like that it has 1/2"
chuck and power to go with it. had the drill less then a year and one of the batteries wouldn't take a charge. i thought it was dead. what i did was take an old phone charger the kind where it plugs directly into wall. i cut off the end jack and split and stripped the double wire. after using a meter to determine which one was (+) and (-), the single contact on battery is (+). i hooked it up to battery for a few minutes. battery is now taking charge in milwaukee charger. they do say don't let the batteries completely discharge so it seems it just needed a little charge for the milwaukee charger to accept it. hope this helps.

Questionable EngineeringWhen I first saw these tools I was awed by the new battery technology, and since I'm such a tool junkie, I almost purchased them. Then I read the review of the drill in a recent Consumer Reports Magazine in their rewiew of cordless drills. They indicated that they burned up their V28 cordless hammer drill in short order while using it to drive lag screws during testing. They liked the battery, but had serious questions about the tool itself. Just a forewarning; Sometimes it's best to wait until the bugs are worked out. If the drill is questionable, what about the other tools. Is this C.R. review the reason why the set is now heavilly discounted?
Good set for the price when it's on saleI've been using this tool kit at least once a week for the past 2 months or so and I can definitely say that they perform as expected. I'm not sure that the lower weight or extended run time is really the best reason to upgrade from your current cordless tools given the price of this kit. However I didn't own any other cordless tools, so purchasing this slightly more expensive set was worth the money. The sawzall and drill are definitely the two tools that I use the most and they have held up wonderfully. The drill (set to hammer) eats through concrete surprisingly fast.
I would have given this set 5 stars, except for the following:
1. The batteries are much more expensive than other sets (a reason contractors may be wary of upgrading their existing job tools to these)
2. The flashlight isn't all that bright, especially compared to LED lights that are out now. It's also bulky with the battery and lacks a "lantern" ability to illuminate 360?.
3. The kit comes with one screwdriver tip, but holds two. Why not just throw in an extra $2 tip?
4. The current selection of 28V tools is not very large, so if you are looking for a variety of tools that use interchangable batteries, this may not be the kit for you.
The things I like about the set:
1. You get three high quality tools (sawzall, circular saw, drill), a charger, two batteries and a tool bag to carry them all in. In addition you get the clip lock system and the flashlight, a circular saw blade, 2 sawzall blades and a screwdriver bit.
2. The battery life is exceptional.
3. The power actually lasts as Milwaukee claims, high power through the whole battery right until the end.
4. The batteries are definitely lighter and easier to use for extended periods of time.

The Future Has ArrivedI have worked with this kit for several weeks and I am convinced that Milwaukee has hit the bull's-eye.
Apart from the revolutionary V28 Lithium Ion battery technology, the tools are perfectly balanced, powerful, versatile and rugged. They are contractor-grade and ready to work as hard as their corded equivalents.
V28 is something unto itself. If you've ever thought that cordless tools were more trouble than they were worth (I did!) V28 will make a cordless convert of you. I bucked 2X10 joists all day with the circular saw without a recharge and it is very quiet to boot. The drill and reciprocating saw are equally capable. The battery packs last all day, don't have a recharge "memory" and recharge very rapidly. I was so pleased that I ordered the V28 jobsite radio!
Milwaukee did it right. I expect to see this technology expanding across their entire line of portable tools. One thing for certain: everything Milwaukee manufactures is rugged. There's no downscale line of tools for the "occasional" user.
At the price that Amazon offers this kit, it's a no-brainer. Highly recommended!

Not A Real Milwaukee ToolMilwaukee has two 14 inch Abrasive Cut-Off Machines. This is the cheap one that's not even a real Milwaukee. TTI has taken over Milwaukee and anymore they are "Made In China, but in red" tools. The 6180 is better made, but it won't be long until they trash it up too. I do NOT recommend buying this model. As someone else said, look at the other brands and study them before you buy.
Okay for 90 cuts, not 45The stamped steel back half of the vise is not true vertical, so it's okay for 90 cuts. I needed 45 cuts on square stock and the cuts were oblique. I returned it and got the 6180-20 for $40 more. The base is cast aluminum and solid, but the vise is cast iron and therefore machined and square. The motor has more power, too, and the handle is a better orientation. It's worth the extra. Yes, of course it's made in China. Isn't everything?
does the job I have had my saw for a couple years now and have not had a problem. Seems other people have had switch problems but mine has worked fine and I have gone through around 30 abrasive wheels. I was disapointed to find that milwaukee just stamped there name on a foriegn tool. This tool is not the quality I would expect from milwaukee, I think it is as good or better than any of the other entry level abrasive saws. If you want the best for your money I recomend milwaukees 6180-20, this is a nice saw. Another option is the dry cut saw which I'm upgradeing to but it is expensive.

Versitle and cost effective! We're a G.C. specializing in timberframe construction. We've found the Prazi to work very well both in trimming timbers and in cutting 4&6 inch panels. Invariably we get customers who want a window added or moved and we used to use a Sawzall. The Prazi paid for itself the first day we used it.
We use it on a Milwaukee 8-1/4 inch worm drive saw and although a bit on the heavy side, the thing is a beast. Change-over is a bit exaggerated in the ad. In actuality it takes about 2 minutes.

Gets the job done . . . I bought a Prazi Beamcutter to trim and notch the tops of 8x8 installed posts that were required for a foundation on a room addition that I'm building. I just needed a saw the would cut the posts square. Also, I knew that I couldn't make a square cut on these posts with a chain saw or with a Sawzall and a long blade. Moreover, I needed something that would work but didn't cost a fortune. With that, I bought a Prazi PR-7000 for my Skillsaw Mag-77HD. It's not perfect, but it does the trick. Mounted on the Skillsaw, the Beamcutter feels a bit awkward, especially when used at a 90-degree angle. Don't think that you can just walk up to a verticle 8x8 post, mark a line, and expect to cut it off square just buy holding the saw steady. You will need to use some sort of fence to rest and guide the saw on in order to get the square cut. I use one of those nifty aluminum clamp-on fences which works very well.
My only real complaint is, like Evan Neale put it in his review, "the bar bounces around a lot when you begin to cut into a beam so you get sloppy cuts starting out". The bar actually vibrates quickly from side to side thus making the start of the cut a little wide, but he vibration quickly goes away once the bar and chain enters the kerf. Overall, the cuts are fairly clean and very satisfactory for my job.
I find the Prazi Beamcutter to be a good value.

Nothing to compare it toWe were doing some very heavy timber beam end detailing (8" x 13" solid mahogany). We used this tool to rough them in and finished up with pattern bits on the routers. We could find no other tool that could come close to doing what this one did. It paid for itself on the first beam in labor savings. We put it to some hard use and its still working fine.

bad switch?I am just a general hobbyist so I actually have no real need for this drill, I just bought it to have it. I was using it to drill small (1/4 to 1" holes) in plywood with Forstner bits. I drilled about 100 holes over a 2 week period and the drill FAILED. It appears to be a switch problem, but am waiting for report. I had to take drill to authorized fix it place, and am waiting for a call back to trek over there and pick it up. IF I was an electrcian who needed a tool like this I would be highly pissed off. After all the reason to pay Milwaukee's price is to get a quality tool not something that cant even drill 100 small holes.
LOW Torque Applications ONLYPurchased this product instead of Magnum 3300 because I only had a few hundred holes to drill for running wire and figured that afterward it would be more applicable to a variety of home rennovation uses. High torque application made mincemeat of the helical gears. If you plan to run a lot of wire or pipe, buy the right tool for the job-not, as I did, this product. I will try to find a rebuild kit for the gearing--and buy the big guy as well. I have also used the little drill to work under sinks and etc and have been pleased. I just think that there should be a warning on the outside of the box "NO LARGE DIAMETER BITS OR AUGER BITS."
A unique drill... butI owned this little drill for 9 years before it finally crapped out. I used it for the occasional close quarter work and it is perfect for that purpose.
I don't know of another drill like it. This is a powerful little drill that will drill holes and drive screws in a tighter space than any other drill. It is not suited for truly heavy duty work. Mine gave up when asked to hog out big holes for running wire.
I agree that the paddle switch is precariously placed near the chuck and I have also accidentally activated the switch when changing bits. I find the paddle switch gives a lot of control, however, because of the long travel and needs to be in that location in order to keep the size of this close-quarter drill to the minumum. Having your hand near the bit is very comfortable and aids in control as well.
The Miluwakee Hole-hawg is as famous as their Sawz-all and should be up to continuous duty drilling. I will replace this drill with one just like it but will get a Hole-hawg for drilling lots of big holes in structural framing.

Dust bags tough to findDust bags, cloth or paper, are tough to find for this vacuum. Amazon doesn't sell them and Milwaukee has a $30.00 minimum order. So, if like me, you live in a rural area, better make that original bag that comes with the machine last a long, long time.
Very Nice VacuumI love this vacuum!! It is very powerful & conveniant. The only problem I am having is getting bags...can anyone help?
Works GreatThis little Vacuum sure does the job. Others are right get extra vacuum cleaner bags. All you have to do is an online search using the model # and they easy to find. They come in pkgs. of 3 so I stocked up. With all of the Dog hair we have this gets the corners and the couch very clean, also good to get the car cleaned out.
Battery life is better than average, and this screw gun/hammer drill complements the Magnum Drill nicely.
A great set.
