Milwaukee Review Serious Heavy Metal
OK, I'm a power-tool junkie; love them, want the best I can afford. This drill surpasses every expectation I had of it. I had a perfectly good "orange and black" brand 18-volt cordless, but wasn't really thrilled with the power-to-weight ratio. That, plus the battery life left something to be desired.
I bought this for myself as a birthday present. It's been one of my best tool investments. Folks, this drill is a beast. My cordless drill test is whether I can drive a 3", #8 screw into a doubled 2x4. The old Halloween special couldn't do it; I'd either grind to a halt or strip out the head. When I put the pedal to the metal (or fingers to the plastic) on this one, the only challenge was in not counter-sinking the screw halfway through the work.
It's not light, but it is nicely balanced. The keyless chuck has yet to slip on me, regardless of what I was doing. The reversible battery can come in handy in tight spots, too. I have yet to find anything this thing can't drill through. I often use it with a coarse wire wheel for stripping rust and paint off parts and fasteners on my "vintage" GMC pickup. Never had a problem; it just runs and runs. The charger did quit after about 8 months, and I managed to run on one charged battery for almost 2 weeks, using it almost every day. This isn't the least expensive drill you can buy, but I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with it.

Milwaukee Review Fantastic Drill
I recently purchased the 14.4 Milwaukee Lok-Tor drill via the internet for $150. After having used it three times, I would have paid considerably more knowing what I know now. The drill has tremendous power (more than my previous 18 volt drill), has excellent balance (feels like a drill should), provides excellent control, and shows quality throughout. I had checked out other drills at the local hardware stores and had narrowed my choices to Milwaukee and Bosch. I finally chose the Milwaukee because of the higher torque, longer battery life, and a better warranty.

Milwaukee Review The best ever!
I own 4 cordless recip saws and hands down by far this is the most powerful. Not only does the battery last a long time but the dual speed makes it work in all applications. Hands down this is the best!

Milwaukee Review Possibly the end of the corded sawzall era...
I own two Milwaukee corded sawzalls and their main use is for heavy demolition. We have five sawzalls (all Milwaukee) within our crew all together and they're all handled pretty roughly, yet they last though whatever you throw at them. I was pretty uneasy about the idea of a cordless sawzall back when the 18v was the most powerful cordless available... I doubted it could ever keep up with a corded sawzall.

When Milwaukee came out with their V28 line, I purchased the hammer drill and was outright shocked at how much more powerful it was then the 18v I had. After a month of use, I decided the pick up the V28 sawzall too. The very first day, I knew I had a winner. Although when cutting out old, extra-thick studs, you can feel a difference in power between the corded and cordless, the V28 sawzall definitely held its own and didn't lock up once. Just before lunch, I was cutting through a pipe and the sawzall seemed to suddenly die. At first, I thought I broke the thing, but quickly realized that the battery charge ran out. When they say that the power lasts until the very last minute, they REALLY mean it.

Another thing I love about the V28 line is the battery charge meter. I find it very useful to be able to take a quick look and find which of my batteries could use a charge, rather then finding out when you need them. It's a feature I'm finding more and more useful.

The only disappointment is the case that comes with the kit... it'll hold a third battery if you were to purchase one, but it doesn't have enough room between everything to hold extra blades. The compartment they have in the case is about half the size of the one in the corded sawzall case I have, so I can carry less blades. I wish they would go back to the metal cases, but since that's unlikely, all I can hope for is that they'll work more room into the cases for extra accessories.

The sawzall is one of my most used tools, particularly when first starting a job when demolition is most needed. Being free from the cord outshines the power difference that the corded models have over the V28 sawzall. Although I won't be getting rid of my corded sawzalls yet, the V28 certainly is, and will continue to be, my top choice. I think Milwaukee finally got them to the point where their shortcomings will be completely overlooked and a cordless sawzall will be as common as the cordless drill.

Milwaukee Review great product
I have been using this item for about a week now and it is impressive! With almost 1100 in/lbs of torque this drill eats through 2x studs like you would not believe! This item really lives up to the claim of corded performance without the cords. The batteries last longer than any NiCd on the market. I would have like it to have a keyless chuck as the keyed chucks are alittle less convenient. It can also be inconvenient to adjust the drill although it can be rotated a full 360 degrees. Otherwise a must have for plumbers and electricians!

Milwaukee Review Great Tool, Great System
I was originally down on the "new" V28 system earlier this year when I had the chance to use my buddies V28 tools. (Probably a bit jealous) I later received the combo set as a gift and haven't used my 18 V DeWalt tools since. So I decided to start buying the additional tools in this system, the bandsaw being the first. It's a great tool if you need or want better control and finish on your metal cuts than you can get with your recip saw. I believe it's faster as well. It's great on EMT and Rigid conduit as well as channel steel. Being cordless it's convienient and with the new battery system, you get ample power and run time. It's a specialized tool no doubt and everyone will not see the value in this tool, but now with the free tool promotion, you can't go wrong by adding this tool to your fleet.

Milwaukee Review More convenient than corded version
Awesome! I have used the corded version for a few years and this is just as good in performance and 100% more convenient. Cutting electrical conduit in a trench, in the rain, in the cold, in the dark, the last thing you want to deal with is finding somewhere to plug in a tool. I bought the kit because I like to have carrying cases for all my tools. I also bought an additional battery. I am surprised so-far on how long the charge in V28 lasts and how quick they charge.

Milwaukee Review Excellent Drill. Feels solid, a lot of power and features.
I havn't tried the radio as of yet and will actually just sell it, so no comment there.

The drill on the other hand has been working great. Most impressive is the keyless chuck tightening system. Easy in and out between bits cuts time in half. Literally 5 seconds to go from flat to phillips. It makes this "clicking" sound when it tightens, just a few and you are good to go. I have not yet have a drill bit slip and they're circular. There are 2 speeds, the trigger itself acts as a throttle, press all the way for full speed. The battery is reversible, so that you may fit into tighter spaces. Of course the hammer drill option is awesome (all my walls are concrete, I barely deal with wood).

I really love this thing. Granted this is the first drill I own, I have used many and this one feels great.

Milwaukee Review Milwaukee shines again!
I purchased this combo set about 5 weeks ago. I am remodeling my garage/shop and I have used every piece of this combo set - and it works fantastic. The hammer/drill eats through masonry like it is wood. In record time. I have used the circ saw to cut full sheets of 1/4 ply-wood and 1/4 inch peg board. It is accurate and fast (although the charge drops significantly when using this tool). The batteries charge quickly and hold a charge for a while. The light had been great and is very bright. And, of course the recip saw is Milwaukee's trade mark. It is the best tool made by Milwaukee (which are all great in my opinion). I would highly recommend this product and best of all is is compatible with the new 24v lithium ion batteries just released a few months ago by Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Review Freed from power cords
I'm a carpenter with 20 years experience. I purchased this 28 volt kit when it first became available this past spring. My partner and I have used every piece extensively throughout the year for both demolition and for new construction. Some days the saws never touched the ground; they were in one hand or the other. You could forget that you were using a battery powered tool even on long rip cuts! I've taken the corded tools out of the truck; why carry dead weight?

The 28 Volt Lithium-Ion batteries outlast every other battery powered tool I have by at least twice the time, and there is none of the annoying weak performance as the battery nears the end of its charge; this battery keeps running strong to the very last and they recharge very quickly. The fuel gauge is a nice touch too; I find myself using it more than I would have thought.

I didn't care much for the one contractor bag. It's a monster to tote around. I found the Milwaukee carry cases for each tool on line and gave the bag to the kids.

If for any reason I lost the use of any part of this kit today, I'd be on-line ordering a replacement before night-fall. I couldn't go back to the corded variety.

Milwaukee Review Dedicated to it's job.
Although this tool is some what limited in use it performs excellent for the purpose it was designed for. I have used this tool to drill and tap many holes in machine bases and bolster plates that were too large or could not be moved to a drill press. With a good lay out job and heavy center punch you can accurately place the Mag Drill on center each time. The base of the tool is also a de-magnetizer for easy removal of chips and clean up.

Milwaukee Review Worth every penny!
If you have to drill hundreds of holes, this is the tool. I had to drill about 175 holes through the flange of W14x43 steel. This size steel has 1/2" thick flanges. I drilled a 7/16" hole through in seconds. It's amazing! The magnet is very powerfull. I put all my weight (175lbs) on it and it wouldn't budge. It comes with a safety strap and use it, especially if your working with a crew that might accidently cut off your power supply for what ever reason. It paid for it self on this one job for me.
