I own a carpentry company in Chicago and hang lots doors of a great variety of thickness, material and quality. I can safely say that I have never experienced a more powerful, cleaner, or quieter planer in my life. The beveling fence is a great feature. I leave a 3 degree guage block in my pouch to set the fence and give the doors' leading edge a backbevel so it closes nicely without having to leave a large gap between the door and jamb. If you don't hang more than fifty doors a year, or install more than ten - fifteen kitchens a year, maybe stick with a lighter, less expensive planer. However, for those who really produce quantity and quality- this is your guy.

I've had this for about a year. I've used it to demolish a few walls, a shed, knock out door casings and rip out conduit and duct work. Anytime there is wood nailed together that needs to be removed, this is my first choice of weapon. I've never found the 9 amp to be lacking for power. Blade changes are easy. Before I bought this, I wasn't sure how much I would actually use it. Now, a year later, I'm really glad I bought it because it has become my number one problem solver.

In our business of hanging and repairing doors and jambs, the portabilty of tools is important to me. To not have cords in the way when cutting hinge mortises or cutting in lites really speeds up the process. Both the router and jig saw have the power and speed of their corded counterparts. I bought this compressor a few days ago for my small remodeling company.

I am currently growing and needed a larger compressor for the job site, as all I was using was a pancake compressor from porter cable, and it had a hard time keeping up with the heavier demands I was putting on it.

I had looked at alot of compressors from emglo (dewalt) and others. I also looked at the specifications as I wanted a compresor that would have fast recovery, and high air presure for driving nails in older existing framing.

My first surprsie was the way it was packaged. The compressor had no assembly reqired, and was easy to remove from the box. This may sound like a stupid thing, But I prefer to work than asemble tools or have to pry them out of thier packing.

We tested it as soon as we got it to the job site and have used it for a few days now. This compressor is an animal. it will drive nails with my Porter Cable FR 350 into almost anything, and you can literally go non stop. The recovery is the fastest I have seen on any compressor out there. It only takes about 30 seconds run time to refill the tank from 125 to 150.

The only drawback to this compresor is the noise. It is a litle loud, But we fixed that by moving the compressor to another room, and removing the regualtor panel and putting it into the work area. I wasn't sure I would use this feature, but it is great, as you have your air supply and regulator right where you are working. The quick connects are also handy, just push the nipple into the coupler and it locks automatically. The cart is really handy. over having to carry it. ( It's not light )

This compressor by far exceeds what I expected it to do.
You could easily support two framers and other tools off this unit. For the price of this unit, and the features it is a bargin. I already have a few friends in the business who after seeing it, are planning on purchasing one.

I ordered the Porter-Cable CFFC350A Clipped Head Framer Combo Kit for a DIY shed building project. We are turning our garage into a bonus room and dining room and I needed a place to store all my stuff.
I look at buying a 12x16 barn style shed and at building one myself. In the long run the price came out the same but I got myself a Delta 10" tablesaw, 16' extension ladder(fiberglass), and this framing gun compressor kit.
I recieved it on monday, feb. 9th and after opening the box I noticed the compressor was damaged. I immediately contact Amazon and one was shipped out the next day 2 day shipping. I recieved it today and it works great.
I'd recommend this compressor and framing gun to any DIY person. Also, A+ service from Amazon on handling my damaged product and having a replacement to me in such a fast time.
My next purchase will be a Porter-Cable Finishing Gun to help with the remodeling and I'll definitely be purchasing it from Amazon.

I just got this combo kit for Christmas,I was building a club house it was perfect for toe nailing the studs and the plywood went up in one whole day (12x14)foot club house. the only problem was that the hose was to short just buy a new one.

All in all it was a very good experience. Everything was shipped undamaged which was a good start. Manuals have good info but are hard to follow unless you play around with the toys a bit first (powered off!).

PROS: Knocked out nearly 350' of fencing in two days (working pretty much solo). Relatively easy to handle. Will make your neighbors think you *really* know what you're doing if you're sporting toys like this!

CONS: Although it's possible to use this on a 15A circuit, I kept tripping breakers. It's recommended (even says so in the manual) to run this puppy on a 20A circuit. I was using 2" galvanized ring nails (The 5000 count box from Home Depot) to attach my fencing. It's probably more of a problem with the fastener manufacturer, but some times, the gun would jam up if I reloaded before I was done with the first stick of fasteners. The quick workaround was to either wait until it was empty or to pull back on the slider just a bit after firing a fastener to advance the almost-spent stick forward.

Great toy!!! If you're going to be working in a spread-out environment (like a yard), you should probably get an extra length of hose. More hose is recommended over a longer extension cord.

Bought at Lowe's for [$$$]; I was putting in 3/4" oak flooring, crown moulding, and needed a compressor to run the nailers. I am not a pro, just a weekend warrior, and this compressor delivered the power that I needed.

This is a high quality machine... Ran perfect right out of the box [be sure you do the break in procedure]...Mine is a updated verson with braded stainless steel hose connecting the tank to the compressor instead of copper tubing like it says in the product discription...The only problem I had was the wheel and axel vibrated in the mounts so I cut 2 short pieces hose and put them on both sides of the wheel, Now it's quiet...Hope this helps.

I owned the previous version of this gun - it was stolen - and the new version is improved in many little ways - better nail loading, better nose guard, better hose angle, etc
the compressor is new to me
quieter than my Emglo (a lot) and seems robust and powerful
the whole wheel/pullcart thing is a little cumbersome - it's a little too heavy to pick up and carry around, but a little to light to be designed like a rolling suitcase
but it's red, and that makes up for a lot

The nailer is great, very easy to adjust and has never jammed on me. The only complaint I would have is getting the nails out of the nailer if you don't use them all. The compressor has enough CFM to do any type of construction work or any other shop work. Very easy to move around to different construction sites and setup quickly. Air tank fills up fast and isn't too loud. I highly recommend this combo kit if you are looking for a framer and a compressor with a lot of punch.
