Porter-Cable Review Never Slows Down
This is a great small angle grinder. It has plenty of power and the three position handle is an advantage in certain situations over two position models. The only reason I give it 3 stars instead of 5 is the safety switch. It is a pain to operate out of the box. I had to file it down to use it, now it works fine. Milwaukee has a similar switch on their small angle grinders that is just as effective and works much smoother. I would not buy this grinder again because off the switch. A safety switch should be an aid to the user, not a hindrance.

Porter-Cable Review Durable
As others have mentioned, the switch lock is not the best design, particularly when using heavy gloves, so it lost a star.
After several years of ownership, I felt the need to comment on the durability of this product.
I have absolutely beaten on this tool, and it continues to function perfectly.
I has been dropped, soaked, buried in the dirt, stalled out repeatedly, overloaded, and exposed to every kind of abrasive dust there is. Honestly, it no longer owes me anything at this point, but it just keeps going and going...
I would buy one again, but I may never need to.

Porter-Cable Review nice grinder
Bought this grinder and never knew how many uses I would find for it. I beat it up and it keeps going! Well worth the $ - good value.

Porter-Cable Review WARNING - Amazon's "free" shipping SUCKS!
Note the fine print in amazon's shipping policy:

" It will be delivered to your address but not UNLOADED, unpacked, or assembled. "

This means YOU will be responsible for getting the item OFF THE TRUCK when it is delivered to your home. That's over 4 feet off the ground. And yes, the truck will not have a lift gate--that costs more. So, they offer "free shipping", not "free delivery." Buyer beware!

Porter-Cable Review Great Compressor for Average Woodworker
I held off on this review because a had to get a replacement. The first one was pretty banged up in shipment. I believe the reason for this is do to insufficient packing. The unit is not bolted to the pallet and only held on with 2 plastic bands. This wouldn't be a problem, but the unit is top heavy. The 2nd unit I received arrived in good shape, but I had had my fingers crossed. The styrofoam was pretty shattered. The setup was smooth except for trying to line up the holes to get the wire piece in that holds the handle in place--a minor design problem. Man, this puppy is quiet--especially compared to my little Emglo 1.5hp. It runs smooth and doesn't cycle on very often when driving nails. I would have given 5 stars except for the packing problem. It seems like it's just what I wanted since I need something that is an all-around machine. I need it for nailing, spraying, and other small jobs. I also needed something portable to work around the house replacing siding, etc.. Amazon was very nice and understanding in making the replacement. I do have to crate up the 1st one and send it back, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

Porter-Cable Review Quiet, powerful with a manageable size!
I have a small shop (our two car garage) and I am very sensitive to noise. So, you can guess, that my two top priorities were a quiet unit that I could operate in the shop while I was working, yet powerful enough to drive my wide range of pneumatic tools. If you have the same requirements, you are reading about your dream compressor. This unit is smooth and powerful Once again PC has delivered a nice piece of engineering. I have placed it in my shop under a table that I do most of my assembly and work. It kicks on and burrs for a few seconds and goes to sleep for a long period while I am firing nails or something. I measured the noise level while it was running and it is well within the range. I just love this compressor!

Porter-Cable Review Great cuts, bad seal, P-C service takes forever
I bought this saw relying on the P-C name and reputation. The tool arrived in an undamaged package. It really looked like it was very well engineered and manufactured until... Until I made the first 1/4" angle steel cut. The cut was perfect but the next morning I found oil all over the base of the saw. Well, it's my own fault, I trusted P-C name and not the reviewer above that documented the issue with the seal. So I decided to fix it by bringing the saw to the authorized P-C service center. It took them 4 weeks just to look at it and now they are telling me that it will take another 15-30 days for the parts to arrive. So I don't have my saw for a month already and I don't know when I get it back and how long the seal will last again. If you want to have no problems stay away from this P-C saw otherwise be prepared for the oil leaks!

Porter-Cable Review The nicest cuts you've ever seen
The Porter-Cable 1410 is 100 times better than the best abrasive chop saw. However, it's not comparable to a big 3-phase industrial cold saw. At the price, it's an excellent value.

This saw makes beautiful cuts when used properly. You shouldn't crowd the motor, and if the blade produces sparks you're applying too much pressure. The result of hurrying is rapid blade destruction. The saw isn't slow; you just can't run it like an abrasive chop saw.

I'd recommend buying at least one extra blade, so you can rotate blades through the sharpener's without having to have your saw down.

My only complaint is that the first 1410 I bought quit quite suddenly during a project, with fewer than three hours of operation on the motor. This cost me delay of the project, plus most of a day spent driving into Atlanta to the Southeast Porter-Cable repair facility, where they gave me a new saw. (That is, after they told me on the phone they would give me a new saw, then tried to welsh on their offer, and I subsequently intimidated them.)

Even though the box says "Tennessee" on it, the saw is made in Taiwan. That strikes me as a little bit deceptive. But the place of manufacture doesn't really matter where performance is concerned.

The saw would get a full 5-star rating if I hadn't received a lemon the first time out.

Porter-Cable Review Much better than an abrasive blade chop saw
Clean, fast square cuts that don't get hot. Could use a faster vice.

Porter-Cable Review Dust collection useless
The dust collection doesn't work. Take the side cover off and see for yuorself, Porter Cable blocked the rear dust collection port with a strip of metal. They put the port onthe top which is useless. Remove the strip and the fanand use a vacuum or buy a different sander.

Porter-Cable Review A FINE MACHINE
This a fine quality machine. It really is very basic and quite simple in its design. Although not as refined as some sanders out there this unit does one thing well. SAND.The ability to adjust the speed is a must on any sander. This tool will easily withstand the daily rigors of loading and unloading your work truck.I do recommend upgrading the sanding shoe and I wish porter cable offered that as a standard. From the rugged american craftsmanship to its simplicity and fair price this tool is a big hit.Two thumbs up on this one.Now get out there and sand something.

Porter-Cable Review Nice Machine
If you are looking for a professional belt sander, this is the one to own. Porter-Cable invented the belt sander, and this shows why they are still the industry leader. The 12 amp motor does not bog down. The swivel feature on the dust bag will keep it out of your way, and it's quiet, unlike many competitive models. Simply put, it does it's job, and does it well.

Porter-Cable Review Will Not Last
I owned and utilized this product on a PC circular saw for over 2 years. The metal is cheaply made as well as the set screws. The metal will bend when you attempt to tightened the screws enough so they will not vibrate loose. Eventually, one of the set screws broke while in the saw's shoe--causing more of a nightmare. Lastly, the guide isn't even marked with measurements--as with DeWalt's. DeWalt, incidently, provides a guide that has a much wider rod.

Porter-Cable Review you have to have it
You simply have to have it if you have one of the porter cable circular saws. My complaints are (1) it doesn't have any measurements marked (2) the tightening screw is hard to adjust.
Also, it makes more sense to simply include the rip guide in the saw kit instead of having it as an accesory. Actually, there's a groove on the inside cover of the carrying case, that fits the rip guide perfectly.

Porter-Cable Review It is good but...
It is good but the one I have does not look like the one pictured. Also, in response to an earlier rating, how did you get yours to fit in the saw case?

Porter-Cable Review Powerful
The Router has plenty of power. I used it on 3/4" birch plywood to cut out some cabinet door openings and it handled the task effortlessly, not even a splinter. The draw backs... the knuckle buster bit change system. I can't believe a company as good as PC can't / won't do better. Very disappointing. Invest in the D-handle base. It is by far the most convenient and SAFEST of them all. Dust flies everywhere, so have safety goggles (glasses are not enough).

Porter-Cable Review Sawduster
Porter Cable still makes the routers, and this one's proof. Dependable, easy to use, even makes my work look good (and sometimes that's hard to do.) Its also easy to get accesories, spare parts, extra bases, etc.

Porter-Cable Review 693 porter cable
This router is a winner. It is the 3rd PC690 series router I own and they all perform extremely well.

Porter-Cable Review Porter Cable disappointment
I bought this drill/driver because I already have a Porter Cable 19.2 Volt hammer drill. Getting two more matching batteries and a needed tool seemed like a good idea. But when I received the new drill, I discovered that it has smaller batteries with a shorter life. Both tools are 19.2 volt, but the drill/driver batteries have 1/4 to 1/3 less life. Very disappointed, and feel their should have been some disclosure.

Porter-Cable Review Battery note
I ordered this kit primarly for the two 19.2 volt batteries it came with as I already had a combo/kit with two bad batteries.
This item (9826) came with two batteries allright, but they are much smaller in size than the orgianal ones. The websight isn't clear that these are comsummer batteries and not commercial grade.

Porter-Cable Review Best cordless on the market today
Fantastic item with plenty of power, durability, and long battery life. Is used in construction, and does the job very well.

Porter-Cable Review Excellent For Conveyor and Other Mechanical Installation
I am a Union Millwright and I am extremely happy with my Robovector. It is great for transfering reference lines from floor to ceiling or vice-versa. It is also great for transfering level lines for elevation and marking square lines.
A must for all tradesmen!!!

Porter-Cable Review Absolutely incredible
This is a great buy (especially at coastaltool.com for $168.00 plus shipping) (-: The beam is a bit difficult to see in the bright sun, but can be found with the included "red laser glasses". Within two hours of dusk we were able to successfully shoot a dot to 200+ feet. The self leveling feature is great. My first project was shooting property boundries on a building lot. The "plumb bob" (downward beam)allowed me to position the level directly over the corner stake and shoot a line to the next corner. We even staked out the position of the house without having to use the old 3,4,5 layout method for square string lines. This is a great tool!!

Porter-Cable Review A great value
A great product at one half the price. I use this laser as a plumb bob and it is paid for itslef one job.

Porter-Cable Review [not the best]
In the 1/2 hour of trying to use this tool, it was only able to function properly for 5 minutes. I have other Porter Cable products and have no touble with them. This nailer however just kept jamming at the end of slide area. It needs a guide at the end of the track to stop the nails from "bunching up" at the driver head area. It would not drive a nail and then it would drive two at once. This produces a massive recoil that almost dislocates your shoulder. Porter Cable needs to add a spring steel guide to keep the strip nails inline. This should stop the need for the constant unjamming of the feed track & driver assembly.

Porter-Cable Review Good tool, Good price
You would never know my nailer was a refurbished tool if it didn't come advertised that way. It was ready to use, no adjustments needed. I've been running three inch nails through it pretty hard since it arrived and it has been just great.

I'm working faster and more accurately now than before. The clipped head nails are just fine. They don't have that nice look that a full head has, but hey, it's framing not fine woodworking. Clipped head nails are much more common locally than the full heads and much more affordable. I've heard a rumor that Senco makes an offset full head nail that will feed through a clipped nailer if it's really that important to have that look.

My only complaints about the gun are that they should ship it with both triggers and it is a bit on the heavy side. You won't hear too much griping from me, however, when you consider what I paid for it. I've used better framing nailers, but not for under $200.00.

Porter-Cable Review Great Nailer
Purchased this nailer to build my deck. Worked like a charm, never had a problem with the nailer and what a time saver.
Even though the Nailer was Factory-Reconditioned looked like a new nailer!

Porter-Cable Review No Quality Control Here
This was the first item I have purchased from Jasada, and I have since cancelled all other items from this company. Of the 8 templates in the set, 6 had defective threads and were unusable. I ordered them following other reviews, but beware, there is obviously no quality control process.

Porter-Cable Review So-So Router Guides
I just recieved my Jesada 10 pc. router guide kit, and was somewhat disappointed. I was expecting them to come in a case to protect the softer metal they're made of, and on opening the kit, I found that the threads on the guides were somewhat tight, which is not a good thing when you're trying to put them on a router in fairly close quarters. I haven't checked them for accuracy of dimension, but hopefully, they got that part right. There is also some left over solder on the insides of the guides. Also, there is some tarnishing starting on the brass already. I think Jesada needs to look at their finishing process on this item very hard. This surprises me because I just got one of Jesada's raised panel shaper cutters, and it's great - does a fine job, and is very smooth.

Porter-Cable Review Great quality but fall short on size information and storage
My wife bought this set for me last Christmas from my wish-list. I chose these guides over other brands because of Jesada's reputation for quality, they are made of brass and won't rust, and all of them have a 1/4 inch barrel length. (Other brands vary in length.) They are indeed a quality product. But I do think they should have the size printed on the guide (they don't) and come with a fitted storage tray. (I would have preferred to give them 4 1/2 stars due to these complaints, but that score is not available on the ranking system.
